Because for many of us in the 60 and More Crowd community, work isn’t over - it's evolving. Keeping a work chapter for different reasons and in various capacities. Through months of learning and research, I have developed a solid understanding of the topic and a big picture look, globally. In today's episode we are taking a look at how the workforce is shifting as many older workers are staying longer in the workforce- re-imaging how organizations will strategize to provide work environments to engage older workers- some forward thinking. The workforce is shifting in ways we haven’t seen before. People are living longer, working longer, and expecting more from their careers. On the podcast, we take a big picture look at how the workforce is changing not only in North America but around the globe. Two stats to set the stage: Statistics Canada reports that 23% of Canadians over 65 are still working. In the US, The Principal Financial Group research shows the fastest-growing segment of the labor force is age 75 and over. We also look at how older workers are re-shaping the workforce. Older workers bring immense value and experience to organizations What are the future strategies/programs that organizations will need to implement to keep workers engaged and supported on the job. This podcast is inspired on my experience of exploring new ways of working after leaving my longtime business role in Canada with a global organization. I became curious why not open the conversation and share the messaging with the fresh, modern approach- podcasting. Staying informed and kindly supporting people who are navigating this path.
