There's an old adage that states that you can judge a person based on the quality of their enemies, so when the person in question has a clear ethical and moral code, conducts himself honourably in almost everything, can be little old fashioned thanks to a brief sojourn as a Capsicle, and is one of Marvel's most beloved characters (thanks to the MCU), you'd expect the villain roster to be full of seriously bad people.

Which it is ... up to a point. 

Unfortunately Captain America, like so many other comic-book superheroes who've been around for a while, has a few embarrassing skeletons in his closet, and some even stranger enemies ...

You bring the ears, we'll bring the comics.

It's been a busy week in comic-book land, so join Rob and Andrew as they find out more about Marvel and SB Projects' acquisition of half of Aspen Comics, discuss a plethore of DC news (including the end of Dark Nights: Metal, the return of the hall of justice, and what that last bit might herald). There's more from inhumans-watch which just doesn't die (or will it? A newly announced comic holds all the clues), and there's also the return of some Marvel royalty.

Mix all of that with our usual anarchic perspective and we're in business.

We kick off that part of the show where we usually talk about comics by talking about a movie instead (Go Anarchy!) - as Anders Walter's adaptation of Joe Kelly and Ken Nimura's classic graphic novel "I Kill Giants" hits the big screen (we covered the comic-book back in episode #105). After that we head back into the lovely, weird and confusing bosom of comic books with the 40th Anniversary hardback edition of Star Wars: A New Hope, the controversial (for its time), Blazing Combat, Thor Vs Hulk: Champions of the Universe, and a new Cloak & Dagger collected trade paperback called Runaways & Reversals.

Scrooge and the Ghost of Days of Future Past

The 4-Panel gang ride into town again, which means it's time for another round-up of all things comic-book and manga related.

Kicking things off this week are some newly revealed details about Marvel's highly-anticipated Avengers: Infinity War, after which we're shocked to discover that the movie "Dredd" was actually directed by Alex Garland (according to Karl Urban that is). Rounding things off is the news that show favourite Skottie Young will be making a new Deadpool series - which is basically a match made in heaven!

The news is cause for some head-scratching as DC's decide to do a JLA/Doom Patrol crossover with the rather odd title of Milk Wars. Meanwhile, Jude Law may take on the role of Marvel's original Captain Marvel (i.e. the Kree warrior Mar-Vell), Marvel wonder where Wolverine is, and the cast of the Justice league cartoon want to do a reunion movie - which neatly leads us on to a good old natter about the new live-action film from Warner Bros.
