Although he had a memorable turn as one of Hannibal Lector's victims, we thought he got much more screen-time in the twisty 2003 thriller, Identity. Having not seen this one for a while, we were happy to discover that this remains a fun, tight (not to mention star-studded) spectacle today. R.I.P Ray Liotta, and thanks for the years of pleasure you've brought us.

This part is much more action-packed than the first, though...well, it's still a TV movie. Enjoy!

Based on Stephen King's novel of the same name (only his second novel) and of course the second film created based on one of his works since Carrie, it's also his only vampire novel to-date. They got Toby Hooper to direct it, fresh off of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. There's a lot to unpack and discuss here, and we had a joy doing it.

After the controversy and success of The Last House on the Left, Wes Craven really wasn't interested in being pigeonholed as a horror director. However, with the funds running low and a couple of false starts, he caved and partnered with producer Peter Locke to create this masterpiece of cinema which, surprisingly, still holds up today in many ways.

We skipped over the more obvious Rocky Horror Picture Show for the less obvious but promising Stage Fright. This brutal 2014 horror-comedy-musical - only the second horror-comedy-musical we've reviewed on this show - didn't quite float our boats, but it gave us a perfect vehicle for revisiting the career of this unparalleled talent.

Our final entry of our Horror Anthology Theme Month is a real ride, absolutely packed with 80's stars and three fun stories.

We go waaaaay back for the third entry in our month of horror anthology films. Dead of Night is the granddaddy of them all - one of the first ever. It's not likely to scare you to death, but there's a lot to enjoy in here, particularly the creepiest story of them all involving a malevolent ventriloquist dummy.

Opinions are as mixed as the message in this artsy oddity based on a Whitley Streiber novel and starring a host of famous actors, rounded off by none other than Albert Finney, Gregory Hines and perennial Two-Guys Favorite, Tom Noonan.

Stephen King and George Romero collaborated on this sequel to Creepshow, their answer to Tales from the Crypt, which we (coincidentally) tackled last week. The result is three solid tales of the supernatural where the bad guys get what is coming to them.

This Amicus production was the first to use the EC Comics license, which kicked off a property that is still popular today in one form or another. With five twisty tales and a wraparound story featuring a more subdued Cryptkeeper than we're used to, its success spawned a sequel and inspired the Stephen King/George Romero projects, Creepshow and Creepshow 2.

While we're not sure we'd go quite THAT far - in fact, we find a lot to like about it - there's also a fair amount of eye-rolling and ridiculousness going on. We can't say it's the BEST Christmas horror movie out there, but it certainly is trying. Merry Christmas, everyone!

If you're looking for a film to put you in the Christmas spirit, search a little further. If you're looking for one to depress the hell out of you, check out what Simon requested of us. This taught, psychological horror film never lets up until its devastating conclusion.

You might call it the "Halloween 3" of the series, and it truly must be seen to be believed. We just wish there were more Christmas in it overall.

This film by the producers of Pieces did not charm us in the same "so-bad-it's-good" kind of way that their previous outing did. What we have here is a mess of a movie, with such bad acting, editing, writing, and a nonsensical plot that we can hardly recommend watching it. So instead, just listen to us rip it open like a package under the tree.

Arachnophobia a family-friendly fun and creepy horror film filled with stars. Thanks to Rob for requesting this forgotten gem and giving us a chance to talk about it!

Todd decided to torture Craig again this week with another classic giallo pic from one of the masters, Lucio Fulci. We checked it out because Fulci claims it's his favorite film in his entire ouvre, which is definitely saying something. Another mass-murder mystery in a small Italian town harboring some deep secrets and a long history of rumors and suspicions, which was controversial enough to get only a limited release in Europe. And also, it's the very first Fulci film to feature extreme gore effects!

We both loved the movie! So you should go to Netflix, watch it right away, and then come back and listen. Because we got a LOT of spoilin' ta do...

We continue Werewolf Month with the Joe Dante classic, The Howling. Chock full of stars, this one is credited with re-inventing the werewolf genre for the modern audience and making lycanthropy as sexy as vampires.

This 1991 production, heavily promoted by HBO at the time, mixing classic gumshoe detective noir with magic, monsters, and a huge pile of stars. The result is this oddly forgotten movie that retains its charms - magical or otherwise - decades later, requested by loyal listener, Nathan. Whether you're a fan of the detective, fantasy, or horror genre, there's something in here for you. Check it out!

With special effects from Carlo Rambaldi and the direct involvement of writer Umberto Lenzi, this is gore-laden time capsule that will tug at the nostalgia strings of most 80's kids like us. And a special thank you to loyal listener, Jason, for requesting this!

Vincent Price, John Carrradine and Donald Pleasance round out half of what was supposed to be an assemblage of the 6 gentlemen of classic horror. Still, we get an anthology of three spooky tales spooky, sad, and funny, surrounded by a quirky wraparound story and three surprisingly catchy interstitial rock tunes. And if you REALLY want the full Halloween experience, check below for Elvira's commentary - not once, but twice.

At the same time they were writing the soon-to-be-hit-film, A Quiet Place, writer/directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods were toiling away on this nasty thriller. Evocative of movies like Hostel and Saw, it's no surprise that Eli Roth decided to nurture and produce Haunt. We're looking forward to more horror in the future from this duo.

Our last film before October begins is cobbled together from home movies shot during the holidays, starting out, appropriately enough, with Halloween. Home Movie is difficult to find nowadays, but fans of the found footage genre should give it a watch.

That makes the horror even scarier. We're fans of the "found footage" conceit, and this faux-documentary gives a slightly different spin on the genre.

This zom-com fulfills a long-time request by ever-patient listener, Francis. The dead are attacking, and old and young alike must take up arms to defend themselves in merry-old England.

One would even think it's supposed to be a kid's movie except for the pervasive sexual humor. What a romp. TerrorVision: You just have to see it to believe it.

The sequel to the original is bizarre and strange. But that certainly gave us a lot to talk about - particularly the Driller Killer's inexplicable update to a baffling dream-demon-slash-rockabilly-badass. Song and dance numbers abound. Check out our review of this video store hit!

Our first film is John Landis' classic horror-comedy about two backpackers in the English countryside who get attacked by a werewolf. Hilarity ensues as the dead one comes revisits his friend to warn him that he is the last living werewolf in this line of werewolves and really ought to kill himself to save humanity. This film is most notorious for having perhaps the best werewolf transformation sequence in the history of filmmaking by special effects artist Rick Baker.

Nonetheless, we still enjoyed discussing this Charles Band production, directed by Roger Corman's long-time special effects wizard, John Carl Buechler. A comic book artists brings a creature to life through her drawings that feeds off of...creativity. Big thanks to Jennifer for requesting this one!

It's a brutal film, but full of raw emotion and just edge-of-your-seat mystery that made us forget completely that it's over 2 hours long. Check it out!

This "horror" film would have been better off as part of our kids' horror movie theme months. Nevertheless, we both held curiously fond memories about the inaugural episode of this long-lasting series of films. Starring Warwick Davis, Leprechaun went to some crazy places - Vegas, The Hood (twice) and even outer space. We decided we'd start tackling this franchise by starting with the first, starring a fresh-faced Jennifer Aniston in her first film role, just a year before Friends.
