August has turned five and has started school! His transition was not all smooth sailing, despite Zazi doing her best with preparation strategies. In this episode Zazi and Tess answer a few listener questions ranging from speech sounds, tongue ties, tricky behaviours, toileting woes and the use of visuals and communication systems! Zazi opens up about her challenges with toilet learning and her kids and the duo agree on getting rid of star charts to support nighttime toileting. They both talk about the importance of using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and how these HELP promote spoken language.

They explain why stims shouldn't (for the most) part be discouraged, but give practical strategies for if they become self injurious.
