You are likely needing to get in touch with your breath and your body. Reset your nervous system in 25 minutes by utilizing the physiological sigh paired with yoga nidra. This combination helps to relax your whole body and when you can relax the body the mind will follow. In this short 25 minute nidra, you will link the breath with your body allowing for the sankalpa (intention, heartfelt desire, wish, prayer) to sink into the space of the subconscious. The practice of yoga Nidra allows us to reset the nervous system which can be overwhelmed when we are constantly on the go-go-go. It also assists in recharging your battery. It is said that 45 minutes of yoga Nidra is equivalent to 2-4 hours of deep sleep. The body will take what it needs!

I know... it's really hard. All of the thoughts, the pressures, the pain, the heartache. All you want to do is sleep and for the stress, anxiety, insomnia and suffering to go away. But there you are... tossing and turning, staring at the ceiling, thinking about all the things you could be getting done, that should have happened, how it would have been. The truth of it all, is that in this moment, all that you truly need is to be present with yourself. To observe the physical sensations, the breath, the emotions, the stimulus and recognize that those stories are just that, stories and feelings that are moving through you. You are never stagnant, all that you experience is temporary and you are being invited to become the witness. To carve out time to find resolve that in the 24hrs making up your day, a third of that time is designed to restore your mind. When you practice yoga nidra you rest into the experiences that are truly meant for your waking life, equanimity. You are enough. You are worthy. And you are loved, just as you are.

Practices like Yoga Nidra and meditation help those who struggle with stress, anxiety, difficulty falling asleep and can be used to calm the nervous system allowing one to move into a more restful state. This Nidra will focus on your sankalpa(heartfelt desire, wish, prayer) and a progressive muscle relaxation to ground you deeply into a restorative space between dream and sleep.
I lovingly share this practice for everyone as it has been so healing on my life's path. When I lost much of my identity and all mobility, a guided Yoga Nidra practice was able to reconnect me to inner peace. The abilities that once came naturally were no longer possible and sitting with myself became more and more difficult. Nidra invited me to let go of the version of myself I had been before cancer and supported me on my new journey of self actualization and acceptance. I hope this short practice leaves you felling even 10% better than you were before you started.
