S4 EP39: Marcy's Story - Born With Cleft Lip And Palate, Was Just The Start
Saison 4 · Épisode 39
jeudi 3 octobre 2024 • Durée 36:03
Marcy Langlois was born with a cleft lip and palate, her childhood was marked by an excruciating series of surgical procedures, 23 in all, before the age of 18. Because she looked and talked differently than the other kids, she was relentlessly teased and bullied. Her journey into adulthood was marked by challenging, traumatic, and downright tragic waypoints: Coming out as a queer woman, involvement in a multiple-fatality car accident, and a devastating descent into addiction and chronic illness. With all that, and although she got off to a rough start in life (her words), she has discovered one thing, that no matter what obstacles are in your path, Living Beyond Your Limits is not just a dream—it's infinitely possible. She has overcome all of these experiences and now thrives in every area of her life. She has learned how to heal her body using the power of the mind, regulating the nervous system and embodying herself. This is a truly transformational story and simply fantastic!

S3 EP21: Lisa's Story - BONUS After Thoughts
Saison 3 · Épisode 21
jeudi 1 juin 2023 • Durée 06:17
Luke and Kyle discuss the previous episode, Lisa's Story, in which Dr Lisa Smith discusses a number of Sexual Violence and Assault incidents within her own family unit. She would learn that these such incidents were not isolated, and soon realized that the issue of Sexual Assault in her community was all too common. It's a heavy episode and very inspiring talking to Lisa, and the work she is doing now to help kids and youths understand more about consent, what to do and who to turn to if assaulted, and when and how to speak up! Thank you Lisa you are awesome!

S3 EP21: Lisa's Story - The Spread Of Sexual Violence In My Community
Saison 3 · Épisode 21
jeudi 1 juin 2023 • Durée 36:53
Dr Lisa Smith is a professor, hypnotherapist, author, and advocate who has helped many people for the past 20+ years overcome trauma from PTSD, abuse (physical, sexual & emotional) & other mental health issues. In many cases, she is likely the only person that her clients confide in regarding their sexual assault or rape. This is a very hard hitting episode so be warned! Lisa discusses a number of Sexual Violence incidents within her own family, in her own home! She he would learn that these such incidents were not isolated, and soon realized that the issue of Sexual Assault in her community was all too common. She made it her mission to raise awareness and convince people and parents that young children and teens must learn about grooming and targeting so that, as a community, they can reduce the number of sexual assaults against children and youth. Some of the statistics you will hear in the episode are utterly mind bending, and we thank Dr Lisa Smith for sharing her knowledge and story.
