S4 EP18 Should You Raise Your Prices in January? Decide Now.21 oct. 202600:20:14

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

If you’re thinking about putting your prices up in January, now is the time to decide — not the week before Christmas when you’re exhausted and rushing.

In this episode, Katie breaks down how to make a price increase decision based on your numbers (not emotion), what to review before you change anything, and how to communicate it clearly and confidently to patients and your team.

Katie also shares a real behind-the-scenes moment from her clinic that highlights a key leadership distinction: being informed isn’t the same as being needed — and why building a business that runs without you is part of the bigger picture.

S11 EP05 How to Plan Your Clinic Year So Quiet Months Never Surprise You14 oct. 202600:32:48

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode, Katie explains why a quiet January is rarely created in January. If you are looking at gaps in the diary and panicking, you are already too late, because the results you are seeing today were usually created by decisions made 8 to 12 weeks ago.

Katie introduces a new weekly segment, The Clinic Pulse, sparked by the latest Lloyds Bank Business Barometer showing a drop in UK business confidence. Her point is that uncertainty often makes owners freeze, but “let’s see what happens” is not a strategy. You cannot control the economy, but you can control your numbers, your capacity, your marketing, your hiring, and whether you wait until the diary is empty before you act.

The deep dive is a practical framework for stopping predictable problems from feeling like surprises. Katie breaks down how to plan across the next 12 months by looking at five layers: revenue, capacity, marketing, people, and you as the CEO. She shares how to use past data to spot patterns, reverse engineer targets, plan marketing ahead of demand, recruit before you are desperate, and put your life into the plan so the business supports the life you actually want.

To close, Katie introduces a new “Before I Go” moment, sharing something personal and unrelated to clinics. This week she is planning her mum and dad’s joint 70th birthday and navigating the fine line between making it special and not making “a fuss”, plus a family trip to Norfolk that, of course, already has a spreadsheet.

S6 EP30 The £10K Email: Stop Chasing Strangers & Sell to the Patients You Already Have07 oct. 202600:18:26

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode, Katie shares how one email generated over £10,000 in clinic revenue, and why the email itself was not the reason it worked. The real shift happened before she hit send: she created the right offer for the right people, and she focused on the audience already in her world instead of chasing strangers through more ads, more followers, and more “new leads”.

Katie takes you back to the 3:00am moment that sparked the idea. Her clinic was about to lose a major service line, wiping out £130K+ of revenue over the next 12 months, while she was also bringing in a new clinical lead with no client base. She needed a way to protect cash, fill diaries, and create momentum fast, without relying on complicated funnels or months of marketing.

That is where the Movement MOT was born. A preventative, premium style appointment designed to sit in the gap between “I’m injured and need physio” and “I’m fine”. Katie explains how it gave existing patients a new reason to come back, how she positioned it, and she reads the exact email she sent to her active database. You will also hear the numbers behind the campaign, including open rates, bookings, and the conversion rate into further treatment, which is where the real commercial impact came from.

Katie’s bigger point is simple: most established clinics are already sitting on valuable assets that are underused. Your database, your reputation, your existing patients, your team, your space, and your expertise. Instead of asking only “How do I get more leads?”, she challenges you to ask “How do I create more value for the people who already know and trust us?” and to build a patient journey that does not end at discharge, but continues through performance, prevention, and long term health.

S3 EP18 Clinic Owners: Your Attention Is Leaking Profit (Stop the Noise)30 sept. 202600:16:57

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode, Katie shares a simple but powerful shift she’s made recently to protect her focus and get her clarity back. After deleting Instagram (and LinkedIn) from her phone, she noticed how much mental space opened up. Less comparison, less noise, fewer open loops, and more ability to actually think. Not “busy thinking” about the 400 things on the to do list, but proper CEO thinking about what’s working, what’s not, what’s become unnecessarily complicated, and what decisions she’s been avoiding.

Katie explains why most established clinic owners are not short of information. You’ve listened to the podcasts, bought the books, joined the groups, done the courses, and your team is sending you ideas too. The problem is that more information does not automatically create clarity. At a certain point it creates noise, and that noise chips away at your executive function and decision making. She calls this cognitive debt, the build up of mental tabs that stay open and quietly drain your attention.

She also unpacks how comparison changes as your clinic grows. The finish line keeps moving, and social media gives you access to thousands of other people’s “success” every single day. That can lead you to make decisions for their business, not yours, without knowing their profit, cash position, workload, or whether they even like the life they’ve built. Katie’s reminder is simple: your attention is an asset, and in a bigger business it is one of the most valuable resources you have. Every time you give it to noise, you are choosing not to give it to the thing that actually needs you.

To make this practical, Katie sets a challenge for the next seven days. Notice every time you instinctively reach to fill a gap and leave the gap. No Instagram, no emails, no podcasts, no WhatsApp. Just space to think and see what comes up. She also shares what she’s put in place for 2027: a protected CEO week every month, with no meetings and no delivery, so she has consistent time to think, simplify, and make better decisions for the business.

S4 EP17 Where’s the Cash? The Growth Trap Clinic Owners Miss23 sept. 202600:32:55

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode, Katie shares what’s been going on behind the scenes over the last few months and the big leadership lessons that have come with running two businesses while raising a one-year-old. She unpacks why growth isn’t always about adding more space, more staff, more services, or more complexity and why that “more, more, more” approach can quietly drain your cash and your capacity.

Katie breaks down the difference between growth and expansion, and why so many clinic owners increase the “size of the shoe” (assets and overheads) before they’ve fully maximised the “size of the foot” (utilisation, conversion, retention, diary structure, and revenue per square foot). She shares how she’s been challenging business decisions through the lens of simplification, including the reality that more rooms don’t automatically mean more profit, and a busy team doesn’t necessarily mean a high-performing business.

She also explains why revenue stops being the score as you scale, and why the real framework to understand is assets → revenue → profit → cash. Because you can have a high-revenue clinic that’s permanently skint, and a smaller clinic that produces strong cash, less stress, and a better life. The key is learning which numbers actually show whether the machine is working, rather than relying on feelings like “we’re busy” or “the diary feels full.”

Finally, Katie opens up a new opportunity for clinic owners who want clarity on what to do next. She’s opened two slots per week between now and Christmas where she’ll personally review your clinic and give you your next three moves, alongside what to stop doing so you can grow without more complexity. S12 EP40 Coaches Corner: Self Doubt Is Not a Stop Sign (Do This Instead)16 sept. 202600:27:21

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode, Katie sits down with holistic mindset coach Philippa to unpack why self-doubt shows up most when you’re about to grow and why it’s not a sign you’re doing it wrong. They explore how doubt often demands certainty before action, and why that need for “knowing how it will work out” keeps so many clinic owners stuck right at the point they’re ready to level up.

Katie and Philippa explain that doubt isn’t something to eradicate. Instead, it’s often a beacon that you’re changing something meaningful. They talk about how the primitive brain reads change as threat, which is why doubt can feel like a full body experience and why comparison, scrolling, and “collecting evidence” that you’re not good enough can kick in fast. The key shift is learning to notice doubt without giving it authority, treating it as a pause rather than a full stop.

They also break down what self-doubt can look like in real life: constant second-guessing, “what if” thinking, staying busy to avoid the real decision, blaming external factors, and getting trapped in patterns like “not enough time” or “not enough money.” Philippa shares practical ways to move through it, including lowering your stress response first, challenging the thought with “is that true?”, and breaking big decisions into tiny next steps so you can keep moving even when certainty isn’t available.

Finally, Katie encourages listeners who feel stuck in that messy middle between where they are and where they want to be to take action and get support, rather than waiting for doubt to disappear. Because if you require certainty before you move, you’ll be waiting forever.

S1 EP21 Stop Saying "I'm a Physio" — Say This Instead to Attract More Clients09 sept. 202600:27:18

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode, Katie digs into the second foundation of the Flywheel Method: the who. She explains why, at the point someone sees your marketing, they don’t yet see you as the expert, they don’t trust you, and they don’t believe you… so if you lead with what you do (physio, Pilates, massage), you’ll blend in with everyone else.

Katie introduces the idea of perception vs reality: what your ideal client thinksthey need to solve their problem versus what you, as the expert, know they actually need. She shares why the “magic” happens in the overlap, where you speak to the conversation in your client’s head while still guiding them towards the right solution and outcome. Using examples like knee pain and pelvic floor dysfunction, she shows how clients aren’t buying sessions or classes, they’re buying their way out of a problem.

She also breaks down how to become the “untouchable expert” by choosing who you want to work with, creating a clear method or process that makes you the supply to the demand, and building a market of one. Finally, Katie challenges pay-as-you-go pricing models, explaining how programmes and better conditions for delivery create better client outcomes, reduce churn, and allow you to charge based on the value and transformation you deliver.

S10 EP06 MBST for Clinic Owners: The Missing Piece in Stubborn Cases (With Richard Evans)02 sept. 202600:20:01

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode, Katie is joined by Richard Evans, Clinical Lead at MBST Health UK, to explore what makes clinicians stand out and why being open minded can be a real competitive advantage in modern clinic care. Richard shares how he first came across MBST early in his physio career, why MBST works best as part of a wider treatment programme (not a replacement for good clinical reasoning), and what he sees across a growing UK network of clinics using the technology.

They unpack why some clinicians dismiss new approaches too quickly, especially when something sits outside the “expected” pathway for stubborn or degenerative conditions. Using osteoarthritis as a clear example, Richard explains how traditional progression often feels like it only ends in injections and surgery, and why MBST can raise the ceiling on outcomes for the right patients when it is integrated properly. Katie and Richard also discuss how clinics can position MBST effectively, what needs to be in place before bringing it into a practice, and why the best results come from individualised care rather than cookie cutter protocols.

S9 EP08 Your Software Is Costing You Time and Money (Switch Without the Chaos)26 août 202600:30:04

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode, Katie is joined by Tom from the Jane UK team to talk about one of the biggest operational decisions clinic owners face: switching software. They unpack why changing systems feels so overwhelming, even when the new option is clearly better on paper, and why the real issue is not the software itself, it is the lack of time, headspace, and project planning most busy clinics have available.

Katie and Tom explain that switching software needs to be treated like a proper business project, not a quick decision made on a whim. They discuss why many clinics only move part of their workflow across (like scheduling) and keep other parts elsewhere (like notes), and how that creates friction, workarounds, and admin overload. Tom shares a simple question to help you assess whether your current system is still fit for purpose: are you working with your software, or are you constantly working around it?

They also dive into where software can create the biggest return on investment for clinic owners, especially when admin time and burnout are rising across teams. Tom introduces Jane’s AI Scribe feature for note-taking, how it works inside the charting area, and the safeguards that keep practitioners in control of what gets saved to the record. They cover the importance of thinking ahead to where your clinic is going in 6 to 12 months, and choosing systems that can support growth and complexity, rather than just patching today’s problems.

Main Topics Covered:

  • Why switching clinic software feels so hard, even when it is the right move.
  • Why software is no longer a “nice to have” and has become a core part of clinic operations.
  • Why changing systems should be treated as a project, not a whim.
  • The hidden cost of only moving part of your workflow (online schedule but paper notes).
  • How to give new software a fair test by moving more of your workflow into one place.
  • A simple audit question: are you working with your software, or working around it?
  • Why workarounds increase as your clinic grows rooms, services, team size, and complexity.
  • How to think about switching decisions based on where you want to be in 6 to 12 months.
  • Why clinic owners get stuck when they feel they need to know “the how” before they start.
  • Why your software should grow with your clinic, not stay fixed while your business evolves.
  • How small time savings compound into reduced burnout and more capacity.
  • The biggest time saving buckets in clinic software: online booking, note-taking, and payments.
  • How online booking and patient portals reduce admin load and protect policies (like payment rules).
  • How payment workflows and reconciliation reduce cognitive load and time drift across the day.
  • What AI Scribe is, how it transcribes then summarises, and why the practitioner stays in control.
  • How prompts and templates shape the note output so it matches your style.
  • Why better draft notes can improve note quality and reduce end-of-day admin backlog.
  • Regulation and safety: the “human in the loop” approach and why it matters for clinical records.
  • Why ROI is easiest to measure in time blocks and outcomes, not in abstract “AI” hype.

Katie’s key takeaway: step back from the detail, decide where you want to be in six months, then work backwards with the right support.

S1 EP20 Bigger Is Not Better: How to Build Profit Into Every Transaction in Your Clinic19 août 202600:21:02

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode, Katie challenges clinic owners to stop chasing “bigger” and start building a business that actually serves them. She explains why profit isn’t something that happens at the end of the year, it’s a habit that needs to be built into every transaction, every service, and every decision you make.

Katie breaks down the common trap of growth-first thinking: when bookings increase, expenses often rise to match, and you get locked into a more complex business without seeing any real improvement in take-home pay. She also explores why cashflow can feel stressful in both drought periods and busy periods, and how “bank balance accounting” leads to reactive decisions like taking on the wrong clients, throwing out last-minute promotions, or pulling tasks back onto your own plate.

You’ll hear practical examples of how to identify what truly makes you profit (and what quietly drains your time and money), including a real story of room rental that created a net loss once time and overheads were accounted for. Katie also shares a simple “smaller plates” approach to money management by separating accounts for tax, profit, and operating expenses, so you can allocate profit intentionally and make decisions from clarity, not panic.

Main Topics Covered:

  • Why “bigger is not better” and how to build a business that serves your life, not the other way round.
  • Why profit can’t be treated as an afterthought or a year-end event.
  • The danger of focusing on growth first and assuming profit will take care of itself.
  • Why cashflow problems can happen when bookings drop and when bookings increase.
  • How rising revenue often triggers rising expenses, locking you into a new cost level.
  • Why more staff, more space, and more sites don’t automatically mean more profit.
  • How to make profit part of every transaction and stop doing work that doesn’t pay.
  • Profit as a habit: focusing on maximising profit first to create smarter growth.
  • A real example of room rental that looked profitable but was actually a net loss once time and overheads were included.
  • How to evaluate stock and equipment sales: demand, margins, and the hidden cost of holding inventory. Using upsells and bundles (and knowing your numbers) to make selling equipment worth it.
  • Why allocating staff time to higher-margin services can improve profitability without increasing hours.
  • How growth-at-all-costs can damage your health and quality of life.
  • Working smarter: creating premium ways to deliver outcomes without relying only on face-to-face time.
  • What “bank balance accounting” is and why it leads to reactive decisions (wrong clients, rushed promos, doing everything yourself).
  • Traditional accounting vs profit-first thinking: sales minus profit equals expenses.
  • “Use smaller plates”: separating accounts for tax, profit, and operating expenses to manage cash more intentionally.
  • How allocating money for tax and profit reduces stress and gives you choices about reinvestment and pay.

Katie’s key takeaway: don’t feel overwhelmed, start somewhere, and get ruthless about where your time and energy goes so you can build a clinic and a life you love.

S1 EP19 How to Forecast Profit and Pay Yourself First12 août 202600:30:03

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode, Katie asks clinic owners a big question: are you being an ostrich with your numbers? She explains why looking at your bank balance or waiting for your year-end accounts keeps you reactive, and why you need a simple, repeatable way to track the right numbers regularly.

Katie walks through a practical approach to forecasting based on profit (not just turnover), including treating the owner’s pay as a real business cost, working out the true top-line revenue you need, and then breaking that down into tangible targets like sessions per week or class attendance. She also covers how forecasting helps you plan for seasonality, capacity, recruitment, cashflow gaps (especially with insurance work), and better margins by focusing on efficiency and “lowest hanging fruit” improvements.

Main Topics Covered:

  • Why many clinic owners avoid their numbers and how that keeps the business reactive rather than planned.
  • The difference between looking at turnover and focusing on profit and cashflow.
  • Why paying yourself “what’s left” creates unstable income and can cause issues (especially for limited companies).
  • How to treat the business owner’s pay as a real cost in the P&L, not an afterthought.
  • A simple forecasting method: desired take-home pay + expenses + tax = required top-line revenue.
  • How to break revenue targets into practical actions (sessions per month, sessions per week, hours in the diary).
  • How to calculate an average session value and use it to set realistic treatment-hour targets.
  • Using forecasting for different business models (1:1 sessions vs classes) and what the numbers reveal about capacity.
  • How seasonality (school holidays, annual leave, quieter months) impacts income and staffing capacity.
  • How forecasting helps you plan recruitment ahead of time instead of waiting until you’re overwhelmed.
  • Why prioritising profit highlights better margins and exposes “busy but not profitable” activities.
  • Examples of low-margin distractions (room rental, admin time, extra effort for small income) and why numbers matter.
  • Insurance work and cashflow: long payment terms, lower margins, and why private-pay often improves profitability.
  • How tracking numbers regularly reduces overspending, helps cut unnecessary expenses, and supports strategic growth.
  • Why you can’t strip all the money out of the business and still expect it to grow, and how forecasting supports gradual increases.

Katie’s key takeaway: stop burying your head in the sand, commit time to knowing your numbers, and decide what you want to earn so you can build a clinic and a life you love.

S9 EP07 The #1 growth lever most clinic owners ignore: front desk performance05 août 202600:36:49

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode, Katie Bell is joined by Charlie from Klatch.co.uk to unpack what’s actually working right now for clinic growth, and what’s just noise. They explore the reality of AI in clinic marketing, why direct bookings from AI search are still low but its influence is growing, and what clinic owners should focus on instead of chasing shiny new tools. Katie and Charlie also dive into the biggest lever most clinic owners overlook: front desk performance. From call handling and follow-up frameworks to booking journey friction, opening hours, and the “leaky bucket” effect, this conversation is packed with practical insights to help you convert more of the leads you’re already generating and build sustainable growth.

Main Topics Covered:

  • The difference between direct bookings from AI search and AI’s indirect role in the patient decision journey.
  • Why AI search optimisation matters now, even if it’s currently a small percentage of bookings.
  • The importance of a holistic marketing approach, and why clinics can’t rely on one lead source.
  • Why your email list and reviews are two of the only assets you truly “own” as a clinic.
  • How the best-performing clinics combine performance marketing with strong internal systems.
  • Why front desk performance is one of the highest leverage growth drivers in a clinic.
  • What effective front desk calls include: listening, objection handling, pricing confidence, and creating scarcity.
  • Why marketing is only half the story, and how call handling impacts conversion and lifetime value.
  • The case for Saturday opening hours, and how adding weekend availability can drive significant revenue growth.
  • Why clinic owners often view admin as a cost, and how to reframe it as an investment.
  • How to measure and manage front desk performance using clear metrics and role clarity.
  • Why great culture comes from improving systems, not blaming people, and how frameworks help staff thrive.
  • Where AI can support clinics (out of hours and overflow), and why it won’t beat a great human front desk.
  • Why online booking often converts poorly, and how friction in the booking journey loses “hot and ready” patients.
  • Why calls convert better than online booking, and how forms plus fast follow-up (including WhatsApp) can capture leads.
  • Katie’s “leaky bucket” analogy: why more marketing spend won’t work if your operational systems are leaking revenue.
  • What Klatch does differently, and why transparency and revenue-tracking matter in a clinic-agency relationship.
  • Charlie’s biggest recommendation for the next 30 days: improve front desk performance and the systems around it.
  • Why hiring the right front desk person matters, and how strengths and role fit impact performance.

Thank you for tuning into this episode of Treat Your Business. If you do nothing else after listening, take a look at your front desk and booking journey and ask yourself one question: where are the leaks in my bucket, and what systems could I tighten so I convert more of the leads I’m already generating?

S1 EP18 You: The 4th Foundation for Building a Clinic Business29 juil. 202600:13:19

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode, Katie introduces the fourth foundational step for building a clinic business that creates more time, more income, and more freedom: “you”. She explains why the biggest obstacle to growth is often not your marketing, your pricing, or your systems, but the beliefs you are operating from as the business owner. Katie unpacks how your thoughts shape your reality, why your current business environment is a direct result of past belief systems, and how upgrading your “money thermostat” can change the decisions you make and the results you create. She also shares why you cannot out-strategy a faulty mindset, how affirmations can help reprogram the subconscious, and what to focus on before you dive into the upcoming strategy-heavy episodes.

Main Topics Covered:

  • Why the biggest challenges clinic owners face are often rooted in the business owner, not the business strategy.
  • The quote “Whatever a man can conceive and believe, it can achieve” and how thoughts either move you forward or hold you back.
  • How belief systems are formed through upbringing, authority figures, experiences, and accumulated knowledge.
  • Why your business environment is a product of your beliefs, and how many of those beliefs may not actually be yours.
  • The concept of your “money thermostat” and how it gets set by what you hear, absorb, and repeat.
  • Why Katie chose to stop reading and listening to the news, and how inputs affect how you show up in business.
  • Living on autopilot versus living consciously, and why awareness is essential for growth.
  • Why the best marketing strategy will only get you so far if your mindset and beliefs have not been upgraded. “You can’t out strategy a faulty mindset” and why mindset work must be woven into business growth.
  • What affirmations are, how they work, and why the brain does not distinguish between true and false in the way we think it does. Examples of inherited money beliefs like “money doesn’t grow on trees” and “to make money you have to work hard”.
  • How beliefs can be inherited across generations, and how questioning them creates freedom and new possibilities.
  • A recap of the four foundations: the why, the who, the how, and you, and a preview of what is coming next as Katie revisits each in more depth.

Thank you for tuning into this episode of Treat Your Business. If you do nothing else after listening, take a moment to look at your current business environment and ask yourself one question: what beliefs created this, and which ones are you ready to upgrade so you can build a clinic and a life you love?

S1 EP17 The HOW to Build Clinic Packages That Create Predictable Income22 juil. 202600:19:40

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode, Katie introduces the third key foundation for building a clinic business that creates more time, more income, and more freedom: the “how”. She explains why a pay as you go model can leave your income unpredictable and your diary vulnerable to cancellations, and how creating programmes and packages can help your patients get better results while giving you a more resilient business model. Katie breaks down how to think in terms of state A to state B transformation, identify the roadblocks that get in the way of recovery, and create better conditions for delivery so you are not overpromising, undercharging, and doing unpaid work behind the scenes.

Main Topics Covered:

  • Why most clinic owners default to a single session business model, and the hidden cost of relying on pay as you go income.
  • The fear of looking salesy, and why professionalism means recommending what your patients genuinely need.
  • Why you cannot predict marketing, capacity, or revenue when you do not know what is coming in week to week.
  • How churn rate is created when patients drop off before they get results, often because life gets in the way.
  • How to solve problems creatively by building support beyond face to face sessions, based on real patient roadblocks.
  • The state A to state B transformation, and why people buy themselves out of a problem and into a solution.
  • How programmes improve retention, conversion, and revenue by creating commitment and consistency.
  • Why better conditions for delivery lead to better outcomes, stronger boundaries, and a better reputation.
  • How to price your programmes so you are paid for the full scope of support you provide, not just the time in the room.
  • A preview of what is coming next, including mapping roadblocks, pricing, naming, marketing, delivery, and SOPs for your programmes.

Thank you for tuning into this episode. If you want more consistent income and more freedom without sacrificing patient outcomes, start by looking at the model you are running right now and ask yourself one question. Is it serving you, or is it starving you?

S12 EP39 Coaches Corner: Don’t Quit Before the Breakthrough15 juil. 202600:48:55

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode of Treat Your Business, Katie is joined by Philippa and Bruno for a quarterly Coach’s Corner conversation about the real patterns they’re seeing with clinic owners right now and what actually creates lasting transformation in business.

Bruno shares candidly what life and business felt like before joining Thrive, including the anxiety, overwhelm, and “winging it” that left him feeling like he was running the ship blind. Together, they unpack why so many clinic owners look for a simple checklist, why people often want to quit right before a breakthrough, and how money, stress, and fear can quietly drive decision-making without us realising.

This episode is a powerful reminder that strategy matters, but the biggest growth comes when you’re willing to be coached, stay open-minded, and do the uncomfortable work that moves you towards the future version of yourself.

Main Topics Covered:

  • Why “winging it” in business creates anxiety, chaos, and a lack of direction
  • What clinic owners are really looking for when they ask for “the checklist”
  • The moment many people try to quit right before a breakthrough, and why it happens
  • How community and trust reduce fear of judgement and help you move faster
  • Why money is often used as a socially acceptable excuse, and how to reframe it as an investment
  • The “that won’t work for my business” mindset, and how curiosity changes results
  • How stress and overwhelm shut down clear thinking and keep you stuck in survival mode
  • Why busy work feels productive (dopamine) but doesn’t move the needle
  • What makes someone truly coachable, and why trust and courage matter
  • The biggest return from coaching: becoming your future self and embracing fear as a signal
  • What hasn’t changed at the heart of Thrive: boldness, integrity, transparency, and impact

Thank you for tuning into this episode. If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or tempted to quit because growth feels uncomfortable, let this be your reminder: you don’t need more information, you need the right support, the right focus, and the willingness to take the next brave step forward.

S1 EP16 Who Do You Really Help? (And Why It Matters)08 juil. 202600:20:27

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

In this episode, Katie breaks down the second key foundation for building a clinic business that creates more time, more income, and more freedom: the “who”. She explains why marketing yourself as what you do (physio, osteo, sports massage, Pilates) can cause you to miss the vast majority of people who need your help, and how getting clear on who you serve (and the real problems they’re trying to solve) makes your marketing resonate and convert.

Main Topics Covered:

  • Why marketing “what you do” can lose up to 95% of opportunities to help potential patients.
  • The difference between being everything to everybody vs becoming the obvious choice for the right people.
  • Understanding what your ideal patients are actually thinking before they ever search for a practitioner
  • Why people care more about outcomes than treatment modalities at the first touchpoint
  • How to “look through the letterbox” into your patient’s life and speak to their real-world worries and frustrations
  • The fear behind niching down, and why staying broad keeps your marketing invisible
  • Whether you can have multiple ideal clients, and why each one needs a separate marketing campaign
  • Why demographics aren’t enough, and how psychographics create stronger, more impactful messaging
  • How to start identifying who you most want to work with based on the clients that energise you

A preview of next week’s episode: the “how” and solving problems creatively to create consistent income

Thank you for tuning into this episode. If you’re ready to attract the right patients and stand out in a crowded industry, start by getting clear on who you help best, and make sure your marketing speaks to their problems, not your job title.

S6 EP29 If I Lost Instagram Tomorrow, Here's Exactly What I'd Do17 juin 202600:14:24

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 6: Clinic Marketing That Works

Welcome

Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. Thank you for being here. I’m Katie Bell, and today I want to play a little game.

Imagine you wake up tomorrow, pick up your phone, open Instagram and… nothing. No account. No followers. No Reels. No Stories. No content.

Before you start sweating, stay with me, because this is one of the most useful marketing exercises you can do as a clinic owner.

Episode SummaryIf Instagram disappeared tomorrow, would your clinic, studio, or business survive?

In this episode, I’m sharing exactly what I would do if I lost Instagram overnight, and why social media is a marketing tool, not a marketing strategy.

Too many clinic owners have built their entire marketing plan on a platform they do not own. Algorithms change. Reach drops. Accounts get restricted. Platforms evolve, or disappear. That is why your marketing needs foundations that you control.

I walk you through my seven-part “emergency marketing plan”, including how I would use my email database, reactivate past patients, build referrals properly, double down on Google, strengthen relationships with key referrers, collect reviews consistently, and become known for something specific.

I also share why I’m running my No Fluff Marketing Plan masterclass, and how it will help you stop feeling overwhelmed and start spending time on the marketing that actually creates enquiries, consultations, and bookings.

Key Takeaways

  1. Social media is a marketing tool, not a marketing strategy.
  2. Build marketing assets you own, starting with your email database.
  3. You do not always need more followers, you need more conversations.
  4. Reactivating past patients is often faster and more effective than chasing strangers.
  5. Referrals come from a remarkable experience, not awkward asking.
  6. Reviews are the modern version of word of mouth, and they influence decisions every day.
  7. Google is where people look for answers when they are in pain.
  8. Healthcare is still relationship-based, get back into the real world with key referrers.
  9. Specialists get remembered and recommended. Generalists often get forgotten.
  10. If marketing is draining you, strip it back, focus, and build a plan that works without constant content.

S6 EP28 The Social Media Lie that's Keeping Clinic's Stuck10 juin 202600:12:10

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 6: Clinic Marketing That Works

Welcome

Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. Today I’m building on what I said last week about most clinic marketing being a complete waste of time. I want to talk about one of the biggest lies clinic owners have been sold in recent years, that the more followers you have, the more successful your business will be.

Episode Summary

Today I'm calling out the follower trap and why it keeps clinic owners busy but not profitable. I explain the difference between attention and intention, share a real example from the clinic, and leave you with a 30 day challenge to focus on what actually drives bookings, profit, and time freedom.

Key Takeaways

  • Followers do not equal success. Clients, profit, cash in the bank, time freedom, and a fully booked diary do.
  • Followers are easy to measure, which is why they can become a distraction.
  • Attention is cheap. Intention is valuable. Focus on the people actively looking for help.
  • If you feel overwhelmed, check what you are spending time on and whether it is producing results.
  • Referrals, reviews, and local relationships often drive more growth than posting more content.
  • Trust is built through consistency, results, reputation, and exceptional patient experiences.
  • AI and modern search are pushing us towards being the most trusted answer, not the loudest voice.

S6 EP27 Most Clinic Marketing Is A Complete Waste Of Time03 juin 202600:19:28

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 6: Clinic Marketing That Works

Welcome
Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. I am Katie Bell, and today I am sharing something that might ruffle a few feathers. Most clinic marketing is a complete waste of time. Not marketing itself, but the way many clinic owners are spending their precious hours.

If you have ever poured time into Canva, captions, reels, and posts, only to check your phone later and see a handful of likes, this episode is for you. I am going to help you refocus on what actually drives enquiries and bookings, without dancing on social media or chasing trends.

Episode Summary
In this episode, I talk about the productivity trap that keeps clinic owners busy but not growing. Somewhere along the line, marketing has become confused with posting, and that is a problem. Patients do not pay your rent because you reached more people on Instagram. Patients pay your bills because they trust you, they can find you when they need help, and you make it easy for them to book.

I share the only marketing scorecard that matters, the question you must be able to answer if Instagram disappeared tomorrow, and the fundamentals that have driven the biggest growth periods in my clinic. I also explain how we use social media as a support, not as the engine, and why stripping things back and working the path until it works is often the fastest route to better results.

Key Takeaways

  • Marketing is not the same as posting. Activity does not equal results.
  • The only scorecard that matters is enquiries and bookings, not reach or likes.
  • If Instagram disappeared tomorrow, you should know exactly where your next 10 patients would come from.
  • Build visibility where decisions are made, not just where attention lives.
  • The fundamentals drive growth: patient experience, referrals, reviews, community relationships, trust, and being easy to recommend.
  • Stop doing a mile wide and an inch deep of marketing. Strip it back and work the path until it works.
  • Social media can support your campaigns, but it should not consume your time or distract you from fixing leaks in your clinic.
  • Look at what is already working, then do more of that before starting something new.

Thank you for joining me for this episode of Treat Your Business. If this has helped you rethink where you are spending your marketing time, please hit subscribe and share the episode with a clinic owner friend who needs to hear it. I will see you next week for more bite size episodes as we get clearer on what to stop, what to start, and what to scale.

S12 EP38 Why some people get results and some people don't!27 mai 202600:14:48

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth

Welcome

Welcome to the Treat Your Business podcast, the show for clinic owners who want real, honest advice and tried and tested ways of doing things. I’m Katie Bell, and this is the new era of bigger insights and bolder conversations to help you grow a clinic and a life you love. Let’s dive in.

Episode summary

Last week, I shared two simple questions to help you reframe destructive thoughts and train your brain for growth. If you have not listened to that episode yet, go back and start there because this one will land so much better afterwards.

In today’s episode, I’m continuing the roadmap to results and digging into why some people grow, earn more, create more freedom, and move on to the next big thing, while others stay stuck on the sidelines.

This is about getting out of research mode and into action. It is about trying things before you deny them, being willing to experiment, and doing the work even when it feels uncomfortable. Because insight without action is worthless.

Key takeaways

1. Try it before you deny it
You cannot figure out how to grow from the sidelines. You have to experiment, apply what you are learning, and be willing to fail fast so you can learn faster.

2. Adopt the belief that everything is figureoutable
If you do not believe you can figure things out, you will stagnate and hit a ceiling. Most problems and dreams are figureoutable, and if you truly care, you will find a way.

3. Do the work, not just the learning
Most people are overloaded with information. Listening, reading, and consuming content is not the same as implementing. Taking action is the only path to change.

4. Stay in action, even when it is messy
Growth gets messy before it gets better. If something does not make sense right now, come back to it later, but keep moving forwards.

5. Repetition is not an accident, it is how change happens
Repetition is how we build neuroplasticity, rewire habits, and create lasting change. Expect to face the same issues again and again, just at different levels.

6. Community accelerates results
When you apply all of this alongside like minded people who have your back, you reach goals faster, with more joy, creativity, and momentum.

If you are trying to figure everything out alone right now, please hear this. It is figureoutable. Most of the time we have just overthought it, got in our own way, or let our mindset convince us it will not work.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this episode, and I’ll see you back next week.

S12 EP37 Train Your Brain for Growth20 mai 202600:16:52

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth

Welcome
Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. This week I’m doing something a little different with a short, sharp, high value episode you can listen to quickly, then get straight back to your busy clinical day.

Episode summary
In this episode I’m talking about why growth can feel messy, uncomfortable, and anything but linear, and why that is completely normal when you start properly working on your business. I share what I see in clinic owners who grow revenue, profit, and freedom, versus those who stay stuck, and I walk you through the first step in your roadmap to results: training your brain for growth.

I cover two common destructive thoughts that shut down progress, then show you how to flip them into productive questions that help your brain find solutions. I also share a vulnerable story from Clinic Growth Live that highlights how mindset and openness to learning can change what you take from any room, training, or coaching.

Key Takeaways

  • Progress is rarely linear. Growth can get messy when you start changing pricing, systems, team structure, and decision making.
  • Resilience matters. Humility, courage, self compassion, patience, humour, and a willingness to experiment help you move through the hard bits instead of retreating to what feels safe.
  • Catch the thought “I know this already.” When I believe I already know something, I disengage and stop learning.
  • Replace it with: What can I learn from this? Ask it with genuine curiosity, again and again.
  • Catch the thought “This won’t work for me.” That belief shuts down possibility before I even try.
  • Replace it with: How can this work for me? Repeating this question forces me to look for adaptations, opportunities, and new connections.
  • Hearing something before is not the same as mastering it. Knowing something intellectually is different from doing it consistently and benefiting from it.
  • My brain filters what I notice through my beliefs and mindset, so the questions I ask determine what I see and what I act on.

Resources and links

  • Quote referenced: Shirley Chisholm, “You don’t make progress by standing on the sidelines whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas.”
  • Questions to practise this week:
    • What can I learn from this?
    • How can this work for me?

If things feel messy right now, I want you to know you’re not failing, you’re in it, and it is normal. Start with the first step: train your brain for growth by asking better questions. I’ll be back next week as we continue building your roadmap to results.

S12 EP36 The 10% Fix That Changes Everything in Your Clinic13 mai 202600:12:50

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth

Welcome

Welcome back to Treat Your Business, the show for clinic owners who want real, honest advice and tried and tested ways of doing things. I’m Katie Bell, and this is the new era of bigger insights and bolder conversations to help you grow a clinic and a life you love. Let’s dive in.

Episode summary

What if you did not need more clients to grow? In this episode, I’m sharing why the fastest, simplest way to take your clinic to the next level is often not about adding more, but about getting 10% better at the things already happening inside your business.

I talk through the compound effect of small improvements across three core areas: conversion, retention, and pricing. When you turn the dial up by just 10% in each of these, you can increase revenue and profit without spending more on marketing, hiring more staff, or chasing the next shiny strategy.

This is a CEO level shift. Moving from guessing to leading, from reacting to deciding, and from being in the business to actually running it.

Key takeaways

  • Small improvements compound fast. A 10% lift in the right places can create a huge difference over a year.
  • Conversion matters more than you think. If you’re converting 70% of new patients into ongoing care, improving that to 80% can increase weekly sessions without spending another pound on marketing.
  • Retention is where profit often lives. The real profit is rarely in session one. It is in sessions 2, 3, 4, 5, and beyond, when clients stay long enough to get results.
  • Pricing increases do not need to be scary. Even a small increase, applied consistently across your client base, adds up quickly over 12 months.
  • Most clinics do not have a lead problem, they have a leakage problem. Money comes in, then leaks out through poor follow up, weak rebooking, and missed reactivation. Fix the leak before you pour more in at the top.
  • Systems beat goals. If you do not have a system for tracking and improving your numbers, you will keep hitting a ceiling, no matter how hard you work.
  • Knowing your numbers is leadership. When you understand your numbers, you can do less, make better decisions, and feel more in control.

Resources

  • Atomic Habits by James Clear

If this episode has been a nudge to step out of the day to day and focus on what actually moves the needle, take it. For most clinics, that 10% is the difference between stress and control, between busy and profitable, and between feeling stuck and actually growing.

S12 EP35 The Illusion of “More" in your business06 mai 202600:13:27

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth

Welcome

Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. I’m Katie Bell, and today I’m talking about the illusion of more. If you’ve been telling yourself you just need more money, more enquiries, more staff, or more sessions, this episode is your reminder to pause and look at what’s actually happening inside your clinic.

Episode Summary

Most clinic owners assume they have a growth problem, but often the real issue is hidden in the numbers. It might be conversion, retention, pricing, capacity, utilisation, or the way your diary is structured.

In this quick fire episode, I share why guessing is costing you control, and the five numbers I believe every clinic owner needs to know. I also tell you how getting clear on my own numbers from month one helped me build a consistently profitable clinic, pay myself every month, and make decisions with confidence.

Key Takeaways

  • If you do not know your numbers, you are always guessing.
  • “More” can be a distraction from fixing what is actually broken.
  • A clinic can feel busy and still leak revenue through gaps, churn, poor conversion, or inefficient diary management.
  • Your business is talking to you all the time, and it speaks through numbers.
  • Clarity creates control. Once you see the truth in the data, you cannot unsee it.

The five numbers I want every clinic owner to know

  1. How many enquiries you get each week
  2. Your conversion rate from enquiry to new patient booking, and from new patient to ongoing treatment
  3. Your average visits per client
  4. Your average revenue per session
  5. Your utilisation, how full your diary actually is and how effectively hours turn into revenue

If you are listening and thinking, I do not really know those numbers and I am guessing, then take this as your sign to pull yourself out of the weeds and get a grip on what is actually going on in your clinic.

You deserve a clinic that works well for you, and you deserve to make a fantastic living from the business you are building. That starts with knowing your numbers.

Thanks for listening, and I’ll see you again next week.

S2 EP12 Clarity Creates Momentum: The One Leadership Shift Every Clinic Owner Needs29 avr. 202600:11:48

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 2: Clinic Leadership, Habits, and CEO Thinking

Welcome
Welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. This is a short, sharp episode, because you do not always need 20 or 30 minutes of me talking to get a powerful takeaway. Sometimes you just need the right questions.

Episode summary
I have just come off the back of an annual strategy session with my leadership team, and the outcome I cared about most was not the numbers, the plan, or the targets. It was clarity. Absolute clarity on the vision for the next 12 months and what we stand for as a team.

In this episode, I talk about how a lack of clarity does not just show up as confusion. It shows up as hesitation, inconsistency, lack of ownership, and your team passing problems back to you so everything runs through you. Clarity is not your team’s responsibility, it is yours. Your job is to create the vision, communicate it, repeat it, embed it, and live it in every conversation and decision.

I leave you with a set of questions to help you check whether your team truly understands where the business is going, what you stand for, and how their role connects to the bigger picture.

Key takeaways

  • Clarity is the real outcome that creates momentum, not just plans and targets.
  • If I asked your team what the next 12 months looks like, would they all say the same thing? If not, the vision is not clear enough.
  • Lack of clarity often looks like hesitation, inconsistency, and people not stepping up.
  • Clarity is my responsibility as the leader. I need to communicate it, repeat it, and embed it consistently.
  • Values are not useful if they are just words on a wall. They need to be defined in behaviours and lived day to day.
  • If my team cannot connect their day-to-day work to where the business is going, they will default to “just doing my job” and waiting to be told.
  • I do not need to hold all the “how” myself. A clear vision allows multiple brains to contribute to making it happen.
  • A good self check is noticing where I am saying “they need to step up”, when what is actually missing is more clarity from me.

If this episode hit a nerve, that is usually where the opportunity is. If you know your business lacks clarity right now, that is probably the place to start. Thanks for listening, and I will be back next week.

S12 EP34 Why Waiting to Feel Confident Is Killing Your Growth — And What to Do Instead22 avr. 202600:27:12

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth

Welcome

Welcome back to Treat Your Business. I’m recording this straight after a coaching session with our Ascend members, and I felt called to share something that can change how you approach growth. Today, I’m talking about the difference between fear and courage, and why courage is the real turning point when you want to level up.

Episode Summary

In this episode, I break down Dan Sullivan’s Four Cs model and explain why confidence is not the starting point. The process begins with commitment, then requires courage, which creates capability, and only then produces confidence. I share why procrastination and paralysis are often forms of courage avoidance, and how leaning into discomfort is the fastest way to create new skills, innovation, and results.

Key Takeaways

  • Fear is normal. Courage is taking action even when you feel afraid.
  • There are only two options, courage or courage avoidance. Avoidance often looks like procrastination, paralysis, or busywork.
  • Confidence is not what you need first. Confidence is the outcome of commitment, courage, and capability.

The Four Cs model:

  • Commitment: decide on a specific, measurable result by a specific date
  • Courage: take action before you feel ready
  • Capability: build the skills by doing the work
  • Confidence: the byproduct of the first three stages
  • Strong commitments and clear deadlines shorten the uncomfortable courage phase.
  • Innovation comes from being committed and then figuring it out in the pressure of real action.
  • If you keep playing it safe, you only get the same results you have already achieved.

S2 EP11 You Are the Bottleneck (And It’s Costing You More Than You Think)15 avr. 202600:27:07

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 2: Clinic Leadership, Habits, and CEO Thinking

Welcome
Hello. Welcome back to the podcast. Today’s episode is a spicy one, and it came from a moment I had on stage at Clinic Growth Live. We were looking at the biggest constraints holding people back, and I assumed it would be numbers, marketing, or team. Then the final option came up. You being the bottleneck. Literally everyone stood up. So, we are going there.

Episode summary
Most clinic owners think the biggest problem is more patients, better staff, more time, more marketing, or more CPD. But often the real constraint is the owner. When everything runs through you, the business cannot grow past your capacity. You end up stuck in delivery mode, fixing, deciding, covering, and holding all the responsibility, while telling yourself you will work on the business “when things calm down”.

I share what this looked like for me in my clinic, and again more recently in Thrive when I was preparing for maternity leave. I also talk about why this happens, because you care, you have high standards, and you built this from scratch. Those traits got you here, but they can also be the exact thing that holds you back from the next level.

I walk you through the real cost of being the bottleneck, how it shows up day to day, and the simple question that can start shifting you out of problem solving mode and into CEO thinking. I also invite you to a free masterclass at the end of April where I will help you identify your biggest bottleneck and what to focus on for the next 30 days.

Key takeaways

  • If everything runs through you, your business cannot grow past your capacity.
  • Being the bottleneck often looks like being the decision maker for everything, being heavily clinical, and stepping in to “quickly fix” instead of training properly.
  • High standards are not the problem. The problem is when perfectionism slows momentum and stops your team stepping up.
  • Your 7 out of 10 might be someone else’s 11 out of 10. Demand standards, put systems in place, then get out of the way.
  • If you cannot switch off, you are not running a business, you have a job.
  • Your business can only grow to the level you are willing to let go of.
  • The question to ask every time you step in to fix something is, “Is this something only I can do, or is this something I have not trained properly yet?”
  • Trying to fix everything at once usually means nothing changes. You need focus, not more effort.

If this episode hit a nerve, good. Awareness is the first step. Sit with this question today: where am I the bottleneck in my business right now? No judgement, just honesty. And if you want help figuring out what to fix first, come and join me for the masterclass at the end of the month.

S2 EP10 Seven Habits of Highly Effective Clinic Owners | Stop Being Reactive and Start Leading Better08 avr. 202600:22:09

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 2: Clinic Leadership, Habits, and CEO Thinking

Welcome

In this episode, I’m sharing a powerful reminder from The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and what it really looks like to apply these habits in your clinic and business.

Episode Summary

I’m breaking down the habits that shape how you lead, make decisions, manage your time and stop yourself getting in your own way.

From being reactive and overwhelmed to procrastinating, over controlling and burning yourself out, this episode is all about recognising the behaviours that keep you stuck and shifting into more effective leadership.

Key Takeaways

  • Be proactive and take responsibility instead of blaming your team, the economy or outside circumstances.
  • Start with the end in mind so your week reflects the business and life you actually want to build.
  • Put first things first by focusing on the decisions and actions that truly move the needle forward
  • Think win win by creating better outcomes for you, your team and your clients.
  • Seek first to understand because most problems come back to communication, not capability.
  • Stop doing it all alone and recognise that support, collaboration and guidance help you grow faster.
  • Protect your energy because you cannot build a great business from a place of constant exhaustion.

Pick one habit and ask yourself where you’re not living it yet.

If this episode resonated, send me a message and let me know if you’d love a personal development book club too.

S3 EP17 You Have the Same 24 Hours… So Why Does It Feel Like You Don’t?01 avr. 202600:22:39

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 3: Time, Boundaries, Burnout, and Getting Your Life Back

Welcome What if the thing holding your business back is not a lack of time, but how your attention is being used every day? In this episode, I’m sharing a shift that has made a remarkable difference to me over the last 30 days, and why it could completely change how your business grows this year.

Episode Summary In this episode, I’m sharing a shift that has had a huge impact on me over the last 30 days. It is not about marketing, hiring or pricing. It is about how I’m using the time I already have and what has really been stealing my focus.

I talk about my 30 day challenge to break up with my phone, what I noticed almost immediately, and how small habits were fragmenting my attention more than I realised. If you’ve been telling yourself you need more time to work on your business, this episode is a reminder that the issue may not be time at all. It may be where your attention is going.

I also share why protected CEO time matters so much, how distraction can make you the bottleneck in your business, and a few practical changes that have helped me create more headspace, clarity and intentionality in my day.

Key Takeaways

  • You already have the time. The real issue is often how that time is being spent.
  • Phone habits can quietly steal focus, creativity and decision making.
  • Being busy is not the same as moving your business forward.
  • Fragmented attention can make you the bottleneck in your business.
  • Protected CEO time is essential if you want to lead well and grow sustainably.
  • Small changes to your environment can help you break reactive habits and create more space to think.

Resources

If this episode gave you something to think about, take a proper look at where your time and attention are really going. You do not need more hours in the day. You need more awareness, more intention and more protection of your focus.

If you know you are the bottleneck and you are ready to lead your business differently, this is exactly the kind of work we support inside Foundations.

S2 EP09 3 Things I Got Wrong Building My Clinic (And What I’d Do Now)25 mars 202600:33:39

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 2: Clinic Leadership, Habits, and CEO Thinking

Welcome

If I could have my time again as a clinic owner, what would I do differently from day one?

That is the theme of today’s episode and I am not doing it alone. I invited Fiona onto the podcast. She is a strategic coach within Thrive, a Thrive member of just over three years, and a clinic owner with 25 years in business. Between us, we have 37 years of business experience, plenty of lessons, and yes, plenty of grey hairs on my side.

My job as a coach is to help you lean into what you are great at and stop trying to figure it all out by yourself. If you wanted to learn the piano, you would get a piano teacher. If you wanted to learn tennis or paddle, you would get lessons. Business is no different.

Episode summary

In this conversation, Fiona and I share what we would do differently if we were starting a brand new clinic again. We talk about the real reasons clinic owners hit a ceiling, how mindset and leadership can become the hidden bottleneck, and why getting brilliant at the basics is what creates sustainable growth.

We also get practical about rhythm and systems, hiring the right people, and why retention and lifetime value matter just as much as new patient numbers.

Key takeaways

  • Work on your mindset as a leader. I see it again and again. You can become your own biggest bottleneck without realising it.
  • Get out of your stress response. When I make decisions from urgency, scarcity, or overwhelm, I cannot access the clarity I need to lead well.
  • Introduce rhythm and systems earlier. If something happens more than once, it needs a process behind it so it is repeatable and consistent.
  • Lean into your strengths and get support for the rest. You do not have to be brilliant at everything and trying to be will hold the business back.
  • Hire A players sooner and tolerate B and C players less. Hiring wrongly is expensive, not just financially but emotionally and operationally.
  • Get brilliant at the basics. Before you chase more leads, make sure you are nailing communication, follow up, patient experience, and outcomes.
  • Focus on retention and lifetime value. A small improvement in follow up rates can add tens of thousands of pounds over a year.
  • Decide what growth means for you. Bigger is not the only goal. It might be more time, more money, fewer clinical hours, or more freedom.

If you are stuck in the cycle of trying lots of things and nothing really changing, pause and ask yourself how long you are prepared to wait.

S12 EP33 Why You Haven’t Booked Your Ticket Yet (And What It’s Really Costing You)18 mars 202600:11:39

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth

If you’ve been thinking about coming to Clinic Growth Live and you still haven’t booked your ticket, this episode is for you.

I’m not here to convince you. I’m here to challenge you, because the reason you haven’t booked is rarely about the event. It’s usually about patterns that keep you stuck, like waiting for things to calm down, saying yes to everything, and telling yourself you’ll take action “later”.

In this short, punchy episode, I talk about what’s really going on when you sit on the fence, and what to do if you want this year to feel different.

In this episode, I cover

  • Why “I’m too busy” is often the exact reason you need to step away for a day
  • The pattern of waiting for things to calm down, and why they never do
  • How staying fully booked can keep you trapped in the day to day
  • The difference between having a business and having a job
  • The real cost of staying where you are for another three months
  • The fear that shows up when you want change, and why it’s a good sign
  • Why you do not become “ready” first, you take action to become that person
  • What growth actually means to me (profit, take home pay, time back, confidence, sustainability)
  • What Clinic Growth Live is, and what it is not

My challenge to you

If you want to grow this year, you have to start making decisions differently.

That means:

  • Creating space to think
  • Getting yourself in the right rooms
  • Investing earlier
  • Taking action faster
  • Stopping the habit of waiting to feel ready

About Clinic Growth Live

Clinic Growth Live is on 27 March.

It’s not a sit and listen kind of day. You’re coming to think fast, get clarity on what actually needs to change, and leave with a plan you can implement immediately.

What is an absence trigger?

If you’ve been telling yourself you’ll book when things calm down, this is your moment to decide.

S8 EP05 Employment Rights Shake-Up: What Clinic Owners Need to Know Now11 mars 202600:37:55

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 8: Compliance, Employment Law, and Risk

Welcome 👋
This week I’m really excited to bring back Laura and Steve from Peninsula HR. We recorded an episode together about eight months ago (I’ve had a baby since then, so honestly I do not know where that time has gone) and we were talking about the Employment Rights Bill that was looming at the time.

Well, it’s here. It’s happening. But not everything has landed in the way we expected, and there are key changes you need to know about, with some coming in from April and others later on. The important thing is this: even if something is not due to kick in until January 2027, if you wait until then, it’s going to be too late.

Laura and Steve also share a free offer for listeners, a no cost impact assessment to help you spot the gaps in your clinic and tighten things up before these changes bite.

Episode Summary 🎧
I’m joined by Steve and Laura from Peninsula HR to break down the key employment law changes clinic owners need to know. We cover what’s actually coming in, when it’s happening, and what to do now so you’re not caught out later.

We focus on the changes most likely to impact clinic owners, including unfair dismissal timelines, statutory sick pay changes from April, and tighter rules around zero hours contracts. The theme throughout is simple: don’t panic, get proactive, and tighten your processes now.

Key Takeaways ✅

  • The Employment Rights Bill is now an Act, so these changes are happening, with different start dates from April onwards.
  • Unfair dismissal is changing from a two year window to a six month window from 1 January 2027, and it is retrospective.
  • If you are recruiting now, you need to tighten your hiring process because by January 2027, new hires may already qualify.
  • Job descriptions, expectations, and probation processes matter more than ever.
  • Consider moving probation reviews to three months, with the right wording and ability to extend if needed.
  • A short service clause in contracts can be crucial so you have options during probation and early service.
  • Statutory sick pay changes from 6 April, with day one entitlement and no qualifying days.
  • You cannot avoid the payment change, so you must manage absence properly with clear reporting rules, return to work processes, and triggers.
  • Zero hours contracts are not being abolished, but the rules are tightening, including entitlement to guaranteed hours if someone is working regular hours.
  • Do not try to fix this alone, get support and make sure your policies and documentation are correct.

S12 EP32 If Your Life Is Chaotic, Your Business Will Be Too04 mars 202600:16:49

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth

Welcome 👋
This episode is super quick from me this week because I’ve got a message for you if you’re sitting on the fence about attending Clinic Growth Live. Whether you are or whether you are not, that’s the decision you’ve got to make.

If you’re not taking the action you know you need to take, this is going to resonate. And I’m going to tell you why that might be, and what you can do to fix it.

Episode Summary 🎧
I’m going to say something that might sting a little: if your life looks and feels chaotic right now, that’s exactly what your business is going to feel like too. Always. You cannot separate the two.

If things feel messy in your clinic, I’m willing to bet it’s not marketing, not sales, and probably not your team. It might be a you problem. Because you bring your energy, your habits, your structure (or lack of it), and your decision making into your clinic every single day.

I share a real example from my own week, where I could feel myself slipping into overwhelm and firefighting mode, jumping between tasks, being snappy, and basically running on mini eggs instead of carrot sticks. Nothing had actually gone wrong in the business, but I had no clear plan, no protected thinking time, and no structure to hold me.

Here’s the shift I want you to take away: chaos is not a time problem. Chaos is a leadership problem.

So I walk you through a simple framework you can use this week, using ChatGPT (or whatever AI tool you like) as a thinking partner to clear your mental load, spot where you are the bottleneck, and create a structured week with proper CEO time, boundaries, and clear priorities.

And yes, if you’re still undecided about Clinic Growth Live, take this as your sign. It’s time to step up as the CEO of your life and your business.

Key Takeaways ✅

  • If your life feels chaotic, your business will feel chaotic too, you cannot separate them.
  • You cannot build a calm, profitable clinic from a reactive, unstructured life.
  • You do not need more time, you need better structure, clearer priorities, and stronger decision making.
  • Chaos is a leadership problem, and leadership starts with how you run your life.
  • Use AI as a thinking tool, not just for captions and quick wins.
  • A simple weekly reset can take you from overwhelmed and scattered to clear, focused, and leading again.
  • Structure creates freedom, not the other way round.

S6 EP26 44% increase in patient numbers, what is happening out there?25 févr. 202600:35:40

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 6: Clinic Marketing That Works

Welcome

Hello and welcome to this week’s episode of the Treat Your Business podcast. I’m so excited for today’s conversation because we’re continuing on from a couple of recent episodes about the shift in patient behaviour, what people want more of now in their rehabilitation and care, and why trust and choice matter.

This one is a little different from our usual strict business advice. It’s about what’s changing in the industry, the exciting developments in medical technology, what is being taught at university, and what our new graduates may be expecting from us inside our clinics.

Episode Summary

I’m joined again by Liz Clare and Dr Anna Schreiner to talk about what is happening with MBST, why demand is rising, and what the future could look like for conservative care.

We cover MBST’s expansion into new countries, why more patients want to avoid surgery, and how MBST can complement other modalities already used in clinic. We also talk about education and access in the UK, including the University of East London project and why community programmes and research matter.

Key Takeaways

  • More patients are questioning the ‘default’ options and looking for conservative care.
  • MBST is expanding internationally, with growing interest in regenerative approaches.
  • UK demand is rising, alongside a bigger push for education and research.
  • The University of East London project is focused on learning, data, and community access.
  • MBST can complement existing clinic toolboxes rather than replace them.

S2 EP13 Are You Tolerating What’s Holding Your Clinic Back?18 févr. 202600:38:41

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 2: Clinic Leadership, Habits, and CEO Thinking

Today I’m joined by Nicola, my COO in Thrive, and we’re getting into a topic that can feel a bit uncomfortable, but it is one of the most important conversations you can have if you want your clinic to grow.

Episode Summary
In this episode, Nicola and I talk about the things clinic owners tolerate that quietly erode performance over time. We explore why leadership can feel triggering, especially if you have come from workplaces where leadership looked more like dictating, bullying, or conflict.

We also talk about how easy it is to swing too far the other way. Wanting to be liked, avoiding difficult conversations, and telling yourself you do not have time can all become patterns that keep you stuck.

  • If you keep discussing the same person, you have tolerated it too long.
  • Avoidance often looks like empathy, but it drains you and the business.
  • Most “team problems” are unclear expectations.
  • If you are not tracking numbers, nobody is.
  • Set simple KPIs per role, for therapists: conversion, visits, occupancy.
  • Check process and training before blaming the person.
  • Lead tough chats with curiosity, not aggression.
  • Leadership is learned, get support and practise it.
  • Your clinic grows as your leadership grows.

S12 EP31 The Moment I Almost Gave Up and Went Back to the NHS11 févr. 202600:37:07

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth

Welcome

In today’s episode of Treat Your Business, I’m joined by Anna, a pelvic health clinic owner and a client inside my Thrive Activate programme. Anna shares the moment she seriously considered going back to the NHS after 12 years away, after her clinic hit a sudden quiet month and the panic set in.

This is a real conversation about what it feels like when income dips, confidence wobbles, and you start questioning everything, plus what changed once Anna decided to get support and build a plan.

Episode Summary

Anna opened her clinic in late 2021. Early on, things went well, but she was undercharging and relying on organic growth. Then she hit a month where it was totally dead and she started thinking, “Do I just go back to the NHS?”

She shares how she tried to fix things by working harder and doing more research, but without knowing her numbers or having a strategy, the good months and bad months felt random.

We talk about what finally made her book the call, what it felt like joining Thrive, and why the weekly Q and As, monthly pods, and quarterly strategy days helped her stop feeling isolated and start making confident decisions.

Anna also shares the practical changes she made, including introducing treatment plans and packages, getting clear on her numbers, and bringing in support like a VA and an accountant. Now she’s consistently fully booked and stepping into the next stage: building a team so she can reach more women and expand services.

Key Takeaways

  • A quiet month can trigger panic when your income feels unpredictable.
  • Knowing your numbers and having a plan reduces overwhelm.
  • Packages and treatment plans can create steadier income and better patient buy in.
  • Support roles (VA, accountant) protect your capacity when the clinic gets busy.
  • Community matters. Being around peers who get it makes growth feel possible.

S2 EP08 The Plan That Changed Everything04 févr. 202600:35:10

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 2: Clinic Leadership, Habits, and CEO Thinking

Welcome
Today’s episode is for you if you’re carrying everything and quietly wondering how long you can keep going like this.

Episode Summary
I’m joined by Emma, a neuro physio and clinic owner on an incredible journey inside Thrive. When I first met her, she was exhausted and overwhelmed. Her days started at 5am at a tiny desk in the kitchen, then it was a sprint through kids, clinic, clients, admin, late night emails, and a phone that never stopped. She carried most of the caseload, had no admin support, and was living month to month with no clear plan for the future.

Emma shares the turning point was not one dramatic moment. Life simply became unmanageable. She could not keep pouring into the business while raising her boys and still feel like she had nothing to show for it. She had listened to the podcast for a long time, and finally made the call because she needed hope and a place to start.

We talk about what changed once we began working together. We tackled strategy: pricing, packages, moving away from pay as you go, team structure, marketing, and the numbers. But Emma is clear the biggest shift was mindset: believing in herself, recognising her worth, and seeing what was possible.

The ripple effect has been huge. Emma’s money mindset has changed, and she now has hope for the future, including what is possible for her boys. Her son wants to be a pilot, and where she once would have shut that dream down, she now believes they will find a way. She also shares personal changes, including opening the door to a relationship after years of being single, and stepping into a bigger, beautiful clinic space.

Key Takeaways

  • If nothing changes, nothing changes. Sometimes you have to decide it is enough.
  • Strategy grows the business, but mindset makes the strategy sustainable.
  • Knowing your numbers and capacity gives you control and confidence.
  • Community and accountability stop you doing this alone and keep you moving.
  • The right support can change your business, and your whole life.

S12 EP29 What You Tolerate is Costing More Than You Think28 janv. 202600:41:16

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth

Welcome to the Treat Your Business Podcast, the show for clinic owners who want real, honest advice and tried and tested ways of doing things.

Episode Summary 🎧

If you’re listening as this episode drops in January, you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about. The noise ramps up fast: “Nobody has any money in January”, “It’s Blue Monday”, “The world is a mess”, and it’s easy to slip into fear based decisions.

In this episode, I’m joined by Philippa Aldridge to unpack the money stories that show up for clinic owners at the start of the year, how they get reinforced over Christmas, and how to reset your money mindset so January doesn’t set the tone for the whole year.

Key Takeaways ✨

  • Many clinic owners fall into the story that no one has any money in January, and it can quickly become a belief if you keep collecting evidence for it.
  • Fear based decisions shrink your actions: you market less, avoid conversations, and assume people will not buy.
  • If you stop showing up, your numbers reflect it, and that becomes the proof your brain was looking for.
  • Christmas can trigger old money beliefs, especially when you spend time with people whose mindset is not aligned with where you are now.
  • January is a powerful time to pause, reset, and reflect, rather than rushing into big decisions.
  • Start with curiosity: write down the money stories you are telling yourself, then ask, “Is that definitely true?”
  • Use the phrase “A part of me believes…” to create space and stop the story running the show.
  • Take a 92 second pause before decisions to let stress settle so you can respond, not react.
  • Look for evidence of money around you to support a new belief, because what you filter for is what you will find.
  • If gratitude and meditation feel too woo, keep it practical: write things down, ground yourself, and do something different from your usual January pattern.

S7 EP09 Why Clinics Lose Great Candidates (Before They Even Start)21 janv. 202600:38:52

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 7: Hiring, Recruitment, and Building a Clinic Team

Welcome
If you’ve ever found yourself struggling to attract the right people, getting ghosted by candidates, or simply tired of recruitment draining your time and energy, this episode is for you. Today, I’m joined by Laura, a recruitment agent, to unpack what candidate experience really means, what’s changed in the hiring market, and why working with an agency might matter more than ever.

Episode Summary
We chat about the challenges clinic owners face when hiring, why the old “post and hope” method no longer works, and the real cost of doing recruitment yourself. Laura shares her insider perspective on why building genuine relationships with candidates is key, how agencies have access to hidden talent, and why timely communication can make or break your next hire.

Key Takeaways

  • Recruitment is never a one-time task – it’s an ongoing process that needs your attention
  • Agencies can access candidates who aren’t actively job-hunting but are open to the right opportunity
  • Sifting through unqualified applications is a huge drain on time and resources
  • The right agency will focus on long-term relationships, not just filling roles
  • Delays in your recruitment process can cost you top candidates and revenue
  • Candidate experience matters – from first contact to onboarding, clear and timely communication is essential
  • Outsourcing recruitment isn’t just a cost – it’s an investment in your business’s future
  • Start your hiring process early, and think ahead about your clinic’s needs

S2 EP14 I wish I did this two years ago: A clinic owners turning point.14 janv. 202600:35:53

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Welcome
Hey, it’s Katie Bell. Today’s episode is proof of what’s possible when you commit to the work and actually implement. I’m joined by Vicky, one of our current Evolve clients, who shares what’s changed in just 12 weeks in her clinic, her confidence, and her leadership.

Episode Summary
In this conversation, Vicky takes you behind the scenes of what her physiotherapy clinic felt like before joining Evolve. She was growing, hiring quickly, and making decisions without a clear strategy, which led to stress, burnout, and some tough team calls. We talk about the real cost of hiring too fast, why knowing your numbers matters, and how clarity creates momentum.

Vicky also shares the practical shifts she’s made already, including raising prices, moving away from pay as you go towards packages, focusing on her core physio services instead of diluting too soon, and getting more confident with sales conversations and marketing decisions.

Key Takeaways

  • Hiring too fast creates stress, drains energy, and can stall clinic growth
  • Knowing your numbers builds confidence and helps you make better business decisions
  • Putting prices up can protect profit margins and support sustainable practice ownership
  • Packages improve cash flow and help clients get better outcomes
  • Focus beats dilution, especially in a young clinic
  • Mindset and strategy together are what drive real change

S6 EP25 The Shift I Just Made in My Clinic (And Why 90% of Clinic Marketing is Now Pointless)07 janv. 202600:26:57

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 6: Clinic Marketing That Works

Welcome 👋
Happy New Year everybody, and thank you for being here for the first episode of 2026. I am so excited to be back. I feel like I am really back now. The last few months I have been dipping my toe back into the working world since having my baby, and I finally feel ready to properly dive back into content creation and planning what I want 2026 to look like.

Today’s episode is the real stuff. I am sharing the shift I have just made in my clinic, and why 90% of clinic marketing is now completely pointless.

Episode Summary
In this episode, I break down why so much of what clinic owners are doing in the name of marketing is just noise, and why visibility alone no longer fills your diary. The shift I made was not a new funnel, a new platform, or a shiny tactic. It was a strategic change in how we think about marketing, where we spend time, and what actually influences booking decisions.

I also share a few examples of what I changed in my own clinic, including massively reducing the time spent on social media and getting far more intentional about collaborations, so we stop confusing effort with effectiveness.

Key Takeaways

  • Most clinic owners are not failing at marketing. They are overwhelmed by advice that says “post more” and “be everywhere”.
  • Marketing should be measured by one question: does this influence booking decisions?
  • Trying to market everything to everyone in a multidisciplinary clinic creates mental load, inconsistent messaging, and confusing communication for clients.
  • Visibility does not equal trust anymore. Being seen does not mean being chosen.
  • Healthcare decisions are emotional and trust led. Proof beats persuasion, and timing beats tactics.
  • Good marketing should remove work, not create it. If it relies on constant posting, constant creativity, and being “on” all the time, it is not sustainable.
  • The shift I made was moving from activity to leverage, from attention to intention, and from visibility to decision making moments.
  • In my clinic, I reduced social media to 5% or less of the marketing team’s time and focused on fewer, higher impact projects.

S12 EP28 Why I’ve Stopped Setting Goals the Way Everyone Else Does31 déc. 202500:34:20

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 12: Mindset, Confidence, and Growth

Welcome

Hello everybody, welcome back to the Treat Your Business podcast. If you’re listening on or around 31st December, you might be feeling a mix of relief, gratitude, and that quiet pressure about what’s next. This episode is intentionally gentle. It’s not about big aggressive goals, hustling into the new year, or adding more to your already full plate. Instead, it’s about reflection, perspective, and choosing how you want your life to feel, not just what you want to achieve.

Episode Summary

In this episode, I’m sharing the end of year framework I use with my clients (and for myself) to reset without judgement. We start by looking back with evidence, because when you’re tired your brain will tell you you haven’t done enough. Then we look at the cost of the year, because exhaustion is not a personal failing, it’s information.

Key Takeaways

  • Pause before you plan. Reflection is essential if you want next year to feel different.
  • Look back with evidence: use your calendar, photos, and journal to remember what you actually did.
  • Notice the cost: where did your energy go, what drained you, and what nourished you?
  • Score your life areas out of 10 to spot what needs attention in the year ahead.
  • Most goal setting starts with Have (results), but sustainable change starts with Be (who you are becoming).
  • Ask “how do I want to feel?” first, then let your actions and goals follow.
  • Choose a word of the year as a simple filter for decisions and boundaries.

S3 EP16 The Hidden Energy Drain Most Clinic Owners Ignore24 déc. 202500:30:44

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 3: Time, Boundaries, Burnout, and Getting Your Life Back

Welcome

Happy Christmas Eve and welcome back to the podcast. This episode is a little different to what I normally share. It is not about strategy, numbers, growth plans, systems, team, or leadership. It is more reflective and personal, and I wanted to share something I have been exploring quietly for months.

Episode Summary

This week I am sharing a Christmas Eve reflection on something that has been quietly changing the way I work, lead, and live: the energy of my environment.

I have been reading The Calm and Happy Home by Kirsty Gallagher, and it has made me much more aware of how my home, desk, clinic, and even my car can either support me or drain me. Clutter can feel like unfinished business, and when a space feels busy or chaotic, your nervous system is still responding even if you are not consciously thinking about it.

I talk about starting small with decluttering, asking whether your space supports the person you are becoming, and focusing on flow rather than perfection. I also share a few things I have been experimenting with around feng shui, plus a reminder that getting help at home is not indulgent, it is strategic.

Key Takeaways

  • Everything is energy, and your environment influences you more than you realise.
  • Clutter is like unfinished business and it creates an energetic drag.
  • Start small: one drawer, one surface, one cupboard that would instantly make you feel lighter.
  • Ask yourself: Does this support the person I am becoming?
  • Organisation is about flow and ease, not perfection.
  • Fixing small annoyances removes friction and frees up capacity.
  • Your desk is your command centre. What is in your eye line matters.
  • Getting support (cleaner, help at home, VA) can be a strategic way to protect your energy.

S11 EP04 It’s Quiet — Here’s Why Panicking Is the Worst Thing You Can Do (and What to Do Instead)17 déc. 202500:27:24

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 11: Retention, Quiet Periods, and Seasonal Planning

You are a clinic owner and it feels a bit quiet right now. Then this episode is for you if you’ve caught yourself refreshing your diary, wondering whether you should run an offer, post more on social media, or questioning whether you’re doing something wrong. I want you to pause. Because quiet periods do not kill clinics. Panicked decisions do.

In this episode, I’m talking you off the ledge without sugarcoating it. I’m giving you clarity, perspective for this time of year, and practical actions so you can lead your clinic properly through this season.

Episode Summary 🎧
If your diary feels a bit gappy in December, you’re not failing and nothing has suddenly gone wrong. This happens every single year. We have seasons, school holidays, weather changes, travel, and people deprioritising appointments. The problem is what we do next.

When fear kicks in, logic disappears and that’s when clinic owners make expensive decisions like rushed discounts, messy offers, adding random services, and undermining team confidence. Quiet periods don’t create instability, they reveal what’s underneath, like weak systems, inconsistent marketing, poor retention, unclear numbers, or relying too heavily on new patients.

Key Takeaways ✅

  • Quiet does not mean your clinic is failing, but panicked decisions can create long term problems.
  • Busy periods can hide weak systems. Quiet periods expose what needs fixing.
  • Stop making decisions from emotion and start with the data. Clarity kills panic.
  • Do not rush into discounts, desperate offers, or adding new services. You do not need more ideas, you need better execution of the basics.
  • Reactivation beats attraction. The fastest way to fill your clinic is often past patients who already know you.
  • Retention fixes more diary issues than marketing ever will. The problem is usually conversion and continuity, not demand.
  • Use quiet time as CEO time to review systems, improve scripts, train your team, and strengthen foundations.
  • Christmas happens every year, so plan, forecast, and project for seasonal capacity changes instead of acting surprised by them.
  • Calm leaders make strong decisions, and strong decisions compound over time.

S9 EP06 Tech, Trust & Transformation: The Human Side of Clinic Software with Jane App10 déc. 202500:39:17

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 9: Tech, Tools, AI, and Clinic Software

Hey listeners! Katie here. Today’s episode took a totally unexpected turn – what started as a chat about tech and software for clinics became a much deeper conversation about self-worth, value, and the human side of technology. I loved recording this one, and I think you’ll find it thought-provoking and reassuring, especially if you’ve ever agonised over changing your clinic software or worried about the security of your patients’ data.

Episode Summary ✨

I’m joined by Javia from Jane App, who shares her insights from eight years in the industry. We cover:

  • The real reasons clinic owners hesitate to invest in new software (spoiler: it’s not just the cost)
  • Why moving to a new system isn’t as scary as it seems – especially with the right support
  • The importance of planning your business tech for where you want to be in 12–24 months, not just where you are now
  • How cloud-based systems like Jane keep your data more secure than any filing cabinet
  • The critical role of human support and community in tech adoption
  • Why work-life balance matters and how the right systems can help you achieve it
  • Shifting from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset when investing in your business
Key Takeaways 📝
  • Don’t let fear of the unknown hold you back from making positive changes in your clinic
  • Tech support should feel like a partnership – look for companies who offer real human help
  • Your time is precious. Invest in systems that give you more of it, not less
  • Security concerns are normal, but modern medical software is often safer than paper
  • Plan your tech for the business you want, not just the business you have today
  • You don’t have to do everything yourself – it’s okay (and smart) to outsource and get help

S10 EP05 MBST in Practice: Transforming Clinics with Innovation03 déc. 202500:47:28

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 10: Patient Care Innovation and Clinical Topics

Welcome 👋

Hey lovely listeners, Katie here! I’m absolutely thrilled to bring you another episode of the Treat Your Business podcast. Today, I’m joined by two incredible clinic owners, Ian Andrews and James Scrimshaw, to chat about MBST and the real impact it’s had on their clinics and their lives.

Episode Summary

In this episode, I dive into a bold conversation with Ian and James about why they turned to MBST, what it’s meant for their practices, and the lessons they’ve learned along the way. We cover everything from their personal experiences with chronic pain to making big business investments based on gut instinct, and how MBST has become a game-changer for their patients.

Key Takeaways 💡
  • Both Ian and James were driven by personal need and curiosity to find better solutions for their patients, especially for those with arthritic and chronic issues.
  • MBST filled a major gap in their treatment toolbox, offering real solutions where hands-on care and traditional rehab reached their limits.
  • Their decisions to invest in MBST were based on instinct and belief in its potential, not just the numbers.
  • Educating their teams and patients is key – it’s all about understanding the root cause and treating each person individually.
  • MBST has changed the way they approach healing, making them feel they couldn’t run their clinics without it now.
  • Success is measured by patient outcomes and word of mouth, not just keeping people coming back for endless sessions.

S14 EP04 Secure Your Spot At Clinic Growth Live 2026 And Start Building A Clinic That Works For You26 nov. 202500:13:14

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 14: Announcements, Events, and Updates

Hey everybody, welcome back to the Thrive Treat Your Business podcast. I am so excited to share something big with you in this episode. If you are a physio, sports therapist, podiatrist or clinic owner who is passionate about helping people but feels like your business is running you instead of the other way round, this one is absolutely for you.

Episode summary

In this short, sharp episode I am lifting the lid on Clinic Growth Live version two. Clinic Growth Live is my one day, in person event created specifically for clinic owners in the health and wellness space who want freedom, profit and impact without burning out.

We are back on Friday 27 March 2026 from 9am to 5pm at the Leonardo Hotel and Conference Venue at Hinkley Island in Leicestershire. If you came to version one, you will know it was wild, high energy and full of sequins. This year we have gone bigger, better, shinier and fully branded, and we have doubled capacity to 200 seats.

If you are stuck in back to back clients, paying yourself last, winging your marketing and avoiding your numbers, this is exactly why Clinic Growth Live exists. Across the day I will walk you through the same framework that has helped over 378 clinic owners go from overworked and underpaid to calm, confident and profitable.

Key takeaways

  • Clinic Growth Live version two is happening on Friday 27 March 2026, 9am to 5pm, at the Leonardo Hotel and Conference Venue, Hinkley Island, Leicestershire
  • The event is for physios, sports therapists, podiatrists, osteopaths and Pilates or studio based clinic owners in the health and wellness space
  • It is not for beauty or holistic therapy businesses, it is tailored to healthcare clinics that serve paying clients and want to scale sustainably
  • You will learn how to reduce your clinical hours so you have time to think strategically and grow your business
  • You will discover how to pay yourself first and pay yourself more every single month
  • You will work on building systems and, if you choose, a team that can run without you being there all the time
  • You will leave with your own clear 30 day plan so you are not just inspired, you are equipped to take action the very next day
  • Waiting list members get first access to tickets, early bird pricing at 97 pounds plus VAT, and exclusive bonuses and perks
  • The framework we use has already helped clinic owners move from late nights, constant emails and no holidays to more time at home, more holidays and more profit in their accounts

S5 EP06 How Clinic Owners Get The Best Out Of A Practice Manager Without Micromanaging19 nov. 202500:42:55

I'd love to hear from you 'text the show'

Season 5: Clinic Systems, Processes, and Operations

Welcome

Hello listeners, welcome back to the Treat Your Business Podcast. I am super excited you are here because today we are talking about something that can completely change how your clinic runs and how you feel about running it. If you have ever said things like “it is just quicker if I do it myself” or “I cannot find anybody who does it like me” or “I have tried and they do not get it right so I have taken the job back” then this episode is for you. I am joined by our COO in Thrive, Nichola, and we are diving into how to get the best out of your practice manager or business manager without micromanaging them.

Episode Summary

In this episode, Nichola and I unpack what a great practice manager actually does and how that role should sit alongside you as the CEO. We talk about the difference between a practice manager and an administrator, what you should never delegate as the owner and what you absolutely must let go of. We explore why so many clinic owners become the bottleneck, constantly firefighting and feeling exhausted, and how unclear roles and poor communication turn your practice manager into a reactive doer instead of a strategic partner. We also talk honestly about trust, identity, perfectionism and control, and why you have to be willing to hire people who are better than you in their area if you want the clinic and your life to grow.

Key Takeaways

  • Your job as CEO is vision, leadership, culture and big financial decisions, not doing all the things
  • A strong practice manager owns day to day operations, systems, team communication, tech and data
  • If every decision has to go through you, you have already waited too long to hire for this role
  • Trust, clear outcomes, a weekly meeting rhythm and simple KPIs stop micromanagement for both of you
