#262 - Are You Coping or Are You Healing?
mercredi 5 novembre 2025 • Durée 01:10:28
Have an episode suggestion? Text us!
In this episode, Matt and Paige take a deep dive into the difference between coping and healing. From self-care routines to emotional boundaries, they explore how coping can be both a bridge and a trap—necessary for survival but not meant to last forever. They share personal stories about burnout, triggers, and stress, discuss concepts like allostatic load and polyvagal theory, and offer real-world examples of when it’s time to stop managing chaos and start creating change. This conversation is a reminder that while coping helps us find peace, only change allows us to keep it.

lundi 3 novembre 2025 • Durée 01:04:35
Have an episode suggestion? Text us!
Rehab is a reset, not a miracle. In this straight talk Q&A, Matt answers the questions we hear most from spouses, partners, and people heading to treatment. What actually happens day to day, how detox works, why some centers involve family and others do not, what to expect while they are inside, what to plan for after discharge, and the red flags that predict a quick return to old patterns. You will hear Matt’s 30 day inpatient experience, the lessons that stuck, why aftercare matters more than the stay, and how families can support without micromanaging or losing themselves. Clear expectations, simple next steps, and real hope tied to action.

#252 - Paige's Perspective: When “Just Stay Positive” Stops Working
vendredi 10 octobre 2025 • Durée 14:08
Have an episode suggestion? Text us!
In this episode of Paige’s Perspective, I’m breaking down the difference between toxic positivity and the power of pivoting.
We’ll talk about how social media, family, and even traditional recovery spaces sometimes weaponize positivity to silence your pain, and how serenity has been mistaken for emotional shutdown.
Then we’ll reframe it. Pivoting is about being honest and grounded — holding two truths at once: “This is hard, and I can handle it.”
You’ll hear real-life examples of what pivoting looks like in the moment, and I’ll give you a challenge to practice it this week.
This one’s for anyone who’s tired of pretending they’re okay and ready to learn what real peace actually feels like.

vendredi 17 janvier 2025 • Durée 11:19
Have an episode suggestion? Text us!
In this episode of Paige’s Perspective, Paige dives into the essential question: Are you living by your values? Drawing inspiration from a Freya India article on anxiety and values, she reflects on how self-love and self-respect aren’t given—they’re earned through action.
Paige breaks down how values like honesty, health, and personal integrity serve as an inner compass, helping us make decisions and create a life we’re proud of. She emphasizes that living by values isn’t about perfection; it’s about small, intentional steps that lead to big changes. Whether it’s teaching kids the importance of values by example or questioning societal conditioning around health, Paige reminds us that we always have the power to realign.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected, this episode will inspire you to pause and ask: Am I living by my values?

mercredi 15 janvier 2025 • Durée 01:33:07
Have an episode suggestion? Text us!
In this episode, we sit down with Sheri and Matt Salis from the Untoxicated Podcast to explore the complexities of addiction, recovery, and the profound impact these experiences have on relationships. Sheri and Matt share their journey, starting from the early years of their marriage, through the decade of Matt's active addiction, and into the challenging process of rebuilding their lives and relationship.
We dive deep into topics like natural detachment, resentment processing, and how addiction reshapes not just the addict but also their partner. Sheri opens up about the anger and resentment she carried while navigating life with an addicted partner and the turning point that led her to seek her own recovery. Matt reflects on the pain of early sobriety, the humbling process of earning back trust, and the realization that love wasn’t enough—respect and healing were just as crucial.
Together, they discuss the often-overlooked trauma that partners endure, the importance of individual growth, and why validation, empathy, and independent recovery are at the heart of healing. Whether you're the partner of someone in addiction or someone striving for sobriety, this conversation offers hope, insight, and actionable wisdom for anyone walking this difficult path.

#159 - Paige's Perspective: The Hard Truth: No One Can Save You But You
vendredi 10 janvier 2025 • Durée 23:45
Have an episode suggestion? Text us!
It’s a week into the new year, and while resolutions are fresh on our minds, some of you may already feel yourself slipping. This is the perfect time to confront a reality that can change everything: no one is coming to save you. If you’ve been waiting for someone to fix your life, make decisions for you, or pull you out of the tough situations you’re in, it’s time to stop. The truth might feel harsh, but it’s also freeing—because the power to change your life has been in your hands all along.
In this episode, I’ll unpack why we often believe someone is supposed to save us, from cultural conditioning to the fear of independence. For some, this waiting game looks like hoping a partner will change—believing that if they just get it together, everything will fall into place. But that’s another way of handing over your power. When we pin our happiness on someone else’s actions, we give them control over our lives instead of taking responsibility for our own growth.
I’ll also challenge the myth of rock bottom and the excuses we use to avoid responsibility, while exploring how to break free from the victim mindset and start building the skills to save yourself. Along the way, I’ll share examples, practical steps, and a message of hope: you don’t have to be perfect, but you do have to take action.
Because here’s the hard truth: no one else can live your life or make your decisions for you. But that’s also the good news—you have everything you need to become your own hero. So let’s talk about how to do the damn work and reclaim your power.
