Satisfied: Twisted Passions—It's your Turn to Speak!09 Jun 202600:27:47

In this episode of Satisfied, Ryan Swanson continues the Twisted Passions series by turning from explanation to application. For those who have experienced same-sex attraction, the question is not only “How did I get here?” but “What do I do now?”

Using Ecclesiastes 4 and the picture of the threefold cord, Ryan explains the biblical importance of mutual discipleship, accountability, and outflow. He challenges listeners not to fight alone, but to share what God has used in their lives to help others pursue purity and satisfaction in Christ.

Listeners who have experienced same-sex attraction are invited to anonymously share a verse, biblical truth, testimony, or practical step that has helped them at https://theegeneration.org/ssa.

Topics Discussed
  • The loneliness often felt by those struggling with same-sex attraction
  • Why Ecclesiastes 4 speaks directly to the danger of isolation
  • The difference between one-way mentorship and mutual discipleship
  • How the “threefold cord” illustrates shared strength and shared responsibility
  • The importance of personal integrity in the battle for purity
  • Why outflow is a necessary part of Christian growth
  • A powerful testimony from a Christian school chapel where young men began helping one another pursue purity
  • The invitation for listeners to anonymously share what God has used to help them
  • How testimony, Scripture, and practical wisdom can strengthen others in their own fight
Key Takeaways
  • You are not meant to face temptation alone.
  • Mutual discipleship is not one strong person pulling up the weak, but believers strengthening one another as they walk with God.
  • God can use the very truths He has taught you in your struggle to help someone else find hope and victory.
  • Outflow helps turn the focus away from self and toward serving others.
  • Even an anonymous testimony can be a meaningful first step in helping someone else become less gratified and more satisfied with Jesus Christ.

Dr. Jim: The Revival is in Here30 May 202600:16:13

In this episode, Dr. Jim Van Gelderen challenges young people to pray for revival, not merely as something God did in the past, but as something He still desires to do today. Reflecting on the history of revival in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, and the heart cry of Psalm 85:6, he reminds listeners that revival begins personally before it spreads corporately. True revival is not earned by human effort, but received through thirst, trust, humility, and dependence on the God who delights to revive His people.

Topics Discussed
  • The history of God’s reviving work in places now spiritually forgotten
  • The prayer of Psalm 85:6: “Wilt thou not revive us again?”
  • Why young people should pray for revival in their school, youth group, church, and community
  • The Welsh revival story and the reminder that “the revival is in here”
  • The meaning of personal revival as Christ’s abundant life in the believer
  • Two essentials for personal revival: thirsting for God and trusting Him to work
  • How revival produces rejoicing, truth, righteousness, and holiness from the inside out
  • Why revival is not something we deserve, but a mercy God gives
  • The importance of dealing honestly and biblically with sin
  • A testimony of God moving in a Christian school camp and stirring a lifelong burden for revival
  • The difference between simply “getting by” and living in the presence and power of God
Key Takeaways
  • Revival is not just a historical event to admire; it is a present need to pray for.
  • Corporate revival begins with individual believers who are personally revived.
  • A young person does not have to settle for dull, distracted, subnormal Christianity.
  • Personal revival begins with a thirsty heart that wants God and a trusting heart that believes Him.
  • Revival produces more than emotion; it produces truth, righteousness, holiness, and a passion for Christ.
  • God’s reviving work is an act of mercy, not something we earn or deserve.
  • The presence of God changes everything. When God “steps in the room,” hearts are humbled, sins are confessed, burdens are born, and lives are changed.
  • The right prayer is still, “Wilt thou not revive us again?”

Satisfied: Twisted Passions—The Eunuch Principle30 Mar 202600:24:56

In this episode, Ryan Swanson revisits Matthew 19 and the often-overlooked teaching of Jesus on the eunuch, bringing clarity to questions raised from the previous discussion on “Another Alternative.” Addressing confusion surrounding same-sex attraction and the absence of natural desires, he presents what he calls the “Eunuch Principle.” Rather than pushing listeners toward premature conclusions about lifelong singleness, the episode emphasizes a simple but powerful truth: singleness, in any season, is a gift meant to be stewarded for wholehearted devotion to Christ.

Topics Discussed
  • Clarifying Jesus’ teaching on eunuchs in Matthew 19
  • The difference between absence of desire and same-sex attraction
  • Missteps in church culture regarding marriage expectations
  • The concept of being “born” without typical relational desires
  • The danger of overanalyzing one’s calling
  • The “Eunuch Principle” explained
  • Singleness as a gift, not a handicap
  • Practical application for teens and young adults
  • Trusting God’s timing in relationships and life direction
Key Takeaways
  • Not everyone is called to marriage, and that reality is acknowledged by Jesus Himself
  • Some confusion around identity stems from lack of desire, not perverted desire
  • The church has sometimes wrongly treated marriage as the only “successful” outcome
  • Singleness is not a waiting room, it is a strategic opportunity
  • You don’t need to figure out your entire life calling right now
  • If you are single today, that is your assignment today
  • God leads those who are already moving in obedience
  • A life fully devoted to Christ is never wasted, regardless of future outcomes

GoMission: A Church in Every Village (with Pastor Charles and Brother Abednego)14 Mar 202600:54:23

What would it look like if every village had a gospel witness? In this episode of the GoMission podcast, Mark Gillmore travels to northwest Ghana to speak with Pastor Charles and his son Abednego about a bold vision: a church in every village. After more than twenty-five years of ministry, Pastor Charles is challenging his church to make Christ’s final command their first concern by training leaders and sending workers into nearby communities.

The conversation reveals how God has been preparing this moment for years. Through a network of schools established in rural villages, young people have learned to read, study Scripture, and develop leadership skills. Now many of those same individuals are stepping forward to help start churches in places where the gospel has not yet taken root.

As the church prays, gives, and sends laborers, the vision is beginning to move from idea to reality. When believers are equipped and entrusted with responsibility, the gospel can spread from village to village across an entire region.

Topics Discussed
  • The vision of a church in every village
  • Pastor Charles’ 25+ years of ministry in northern Ghana
  • Mobilizing believers through faith-promise giving for missions
  • Sending trained leaders to start new fellowships in nearby villages
  • How education is preparing future gospel leaders
  • Abednego’s work training teachers across dozens of rural schools
  • Leadership multiplication and training others to lead
  • The importance of giving young believers meaningful ministry opportunities
  • Simple tools like testimonies, gospel presentations, and discovery Bible studies
  • Trusting God to raise up laborers for the harvest
Key Takeaways
  • The Great Commission advances when churches intentionally train and send workers.
  • Multiplying leaders is essential for reaching entire regions with the gospel.
  • Education can play a strategic role in preparing communities to engage the Word of God.
  • Young believers grow when they are trusted with real responsibility in ministry.
  • With faith, vision, and multiplication, a church in every village becomes a mission worth pursuing.

Bobby Bosler: Right Within Reach08 Mar 202600:15:33

In this episode, Bobby Bosler reflects on Psalm 46:1 and the powerful truth that God is “a very present help in trouble.” Drawing from personal Bible study and a simple illustration from everyday life, he explains how easy it is to think of God as distant when we face pressure, weakness, or distress. Yet Scripture reveals that God is not merely nearby—He is right within reach, ready to be our refuge, our strength, and the help we need in every situation.

Topics Discussed
  • Psalm 46:1 and the three descriptions of God: refuge, strength, and help
  • What it means for God to be a refuge or safe place
  • The different dimensions of strength God provides: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual
  • The meaning of “help in trouble” and the kinds of distress people experience
  • The significance of the phrase “very present help” in the Hebrew text
  • How believers can mistakenly view God as distant in times of difficulty
  • A practical illustration showing the difference between something being nearby and being within reach
  • Learning to depend on God right where you are
Key Takeaways
  • God is a safe place where believers can find security and protection.
  • The Lord provides strength for every area of life, including mental and emotional strain.
  • In every distress or difficulty, the ultimate need is not a new solution but God Himself.
  • Psalm 46 teaches that God is not merely close to us—He is very present, accessible, and ready to help.
  • Believers can depend on God immediately, because He is always right within reach.

Satisfied: Twisted Passions—Another Alternative!22 Feb 202600:42:27

In this episode of Satisfied, the discussion continues around the question, “Was I born this way?” Rather than defaulting to the common cultural binary of heterosexual or homosexual identity, this episode explores a biblical category many have overlooked: those whom Jesus described as “born eunuchs” in Matthew 19:12. The conversation challenges assumptions about sexual desire, identity, and calling, and presents a compelling case that some individuals may be uniquely designed by God for a life of devoted, undistracted service to the King.

Topics Discussed
  • Recap of Romans 1 and the role of vain imaginations in shaping identity
  • The difference between corruption and perversion
  • Propensity toward sin vs. absence of sexual desire
  • Matthew 19:12 and the three types of eunuchs Jesus describes
  • The historical role and significance of eunuchs in ancient kingdoms
  • The concept of intentional singleness and grace for chastity
  • Cultural pressure equating victory with heterosexual marriage
  • The vulnerability of those who lack sexual desire
  • False identity formation through misplaced belonging
  • The power of being understood in moments of isolation
  • Reframing “born this way” through the lens of calling and purpose
  • Viewing singleness not as deficiency, but as strategic kingdom design
Key Takeaways
  • Not every lack of heterosexual desire equals homosexual orientation.
  • Jesus explicitly acknowledges individuals born without sexual desire.
  • The absence of sexual desire is not a defect but may be a divine design.
  • The church must stop presenting heterosexual marriage as the only vision of victory.
  • Those uniquely designed for singleness may be called to powerful, focused kingdom service.
  • Identity confusion often grows in environments where vulnerability meets misunderstanding.
  • God does not make mistakes in design; He assigns purpose with intention.
  • A life of undistracted devotion is not second-tier Christianity, but a high calling.
