Freja the Dragon
vendredi 20 janvier 2023 • Durée 33:23
Welcome back to the Road Trip Playlists Podcast and our first episode of 2023. On this episode, host Thomas Darro is joined by Swedish singer-songwriter Freja the Dragon. Freja is fresh off the release of her new EP Midnight Feelings. The four-track EP features previously released singles We're Changing and Closer where she collaborated with Peter, Bjorn, and John. In our conversation, Freja talks about how she accidentally started touring with Peter, Bjorn, and John and how that led from her to want to create her own project and helped lead to Freja the Dragon. Now, Freja is out with her second EP and a collection of four excellent songs. It was a pleasure to speak with her about what led to this EP, what it has meant to her, and about her inspiring path into music.

Welcome back to The Road Trip Playlists Podcast! I am very excited to share this week's guest is Sammy Rae, from the amazing Sammy Rae & The Friends. Sammy Rae & The Friends are an eight-piece band that are uniquely talented in several studies of music. From world to jazz to funk, folk and rock, they’ve got all the bases covered. It was a pleasure to talk with Sammy Rae about the start of 'The Friends' and what the community of 'The Friends' is like and about its rapid growth. Sammy Rae tells incredible stories of how she went from performing concerts for kids in New York libraries and how that is how she met bandmates C-Bass and Will, in what of my favorite stories ever told on the podcast. This is a really fun episode, that I can't wait for you to hear!

Stu Larsen
jeudi 17 mars 2022 • Durée 56:36
This week's episode of The Road Trip Playlists podcast is a special one. Stu Larsen is an incredible singer-songwriter from Australia, and he is also the first concert that I ever was assigned to write about. I moved to New York City with no plan and somehow got a shot at music journalism, and the first concert I ever reviewed was a special one all because of Stu Larsen. It was a pleasure to share this story with him. We also talk about his amazing travels, he has been traveling for the last 15 years and has some amazing stories. We discuss how he ultimately took the leap to pursue music, Passenger producing his album 'Vagabond' and their friendship, as well as what happens when you get back together with the person you wrote a breakup album about. This episode was a joy for me and I hope it is for you as well.
Thanks for listening.
Noah Kahan
mercredi 22 décembre 2021 • Durée 33:37
This week's guest on The Road Trip Playlists Podcast is Noah Kahan. Noah is one of my favorite musicians. His two newest projects, with his EP 'Cape Elizabeth' released in 2020 and his sophomore album 'I Was / I Am' released in 2021, are two releases that I can't stop listening to. The releases add to his already impressive catalog that has logged over a billion streams with Certified Gold tracks like 'Hurt Somebody' featuring Julia Michaels. He has also collaborated with artists like Chelsea Cutler, Quinn XCII, Gryffin, and more. I had the chance to see Noah Kahan perform live at the New York City venue Webster Hall following the interview. Read about my experience on the Road Trip Playlists website here.
