EP 347: Combatting Reproductive Anxiety & Optimizing Pre-Pregnancy Health w/ Alexandria DeVito

lundi 23 septembre 2024Durée 01:02:10

Not only is getting pregnant and having healthy children more
difficult than it was for our parents’ generation, reproductive
anxiety is also on the rise.

Alexandria's approach to pre-pregnancy wellness is revolutionary. She
suggests preparing for pregnancy with the same level of dedication and
planning as one would for a wedding.

Her book emphasizes that the steps taken to prepare the body and mind
before conceiving can have a profound impact not only on fertility,
but also on the lifelong health of the child. "9 Months Is Not Enough"
serves as a comprehensive guide for individuals at any stage of their
journey to parenthood, offering practical advice and empowering
insights.

In addition to writing the ultimate pre-pregnancy checklist,
Alexandria is a functional nutritionist who specializes in fertility
and preconception health. She is the founder and CEO of Poplin, the
first pre-pregnancy wellness company, and holds an MBA from Harvard
Business School, a master’s degree in nutrition, and has had extensive
training as a doula, yoga teacher and personal trainer.

EP 247: Getting Unstuck and Creating Lasting Behavioral Change with Dr. Sasha Heinz

lundi 19 décembre 2022Durée 01:09:28

We are wrapping up this year with Dr. Sasha Heinz,Ph.D., MAPP.  She is an academic who went mainstream, using her background as a developmental psychologist to become a mindset coach. Her private coaching practice is grounded in psychological science, and she teaches clients the tools to change their lives for good. An expert in positive psychology and adult development, Dr. Heinz has based her entire career on helping clients make real transformations, giving them the tools to develop their mental fitness by facing challenges and breaking our mind’s default modes for stress, self-criticism, and anxiety. She was one of the first 33 people in history to receive a degree in Positive Psychology.

Dr. Heinz brings a fresh and desperately needed perspective to adult personal development. While all things “self-help” have skyrocketed in popularity in recent years, more than 60% of adults are still not high functioning in terms of their cognitive framework. With the proliferation of personal development experts, it’s more important than ever to center the conversation about growth and development in adulthood around compelling theory and research.

Stay tuned for the new brand of the podcast launching Janurary 9th!

Ep 244: Food, Culture and How to Eat Healthy as a Busy Mom with Anais Goldberg

Épisode 244

lundi 28 novembre 2022Durée 01:17:56

Anais Goldberg is a home cook turned entrepreneur and the creator of Cook Intuitively with Anais.  Her passion for cooking stemmed from watching her Mexican and Cuban grandmothers in the kitchen at a young age. Their use of flavors and invigorated senses enthralled Anais as she intuitively absorbed every essence of what it meant to cook. But it was when Anais walked down her health journey after recovering from her two consecutive pregnancies and being left with a laundry list of inflammatory issues, which she attributed to motherhood wear and tear, that Anais’ relationship with food changed. She shares in this episode how to create healthy meals for yourself when you are busy and raising kids to be contientious of their food choices.
