| Ep. 324: Michael Moore is Feeling Pretty Damn Good | 26 Aug 2024 | 00:47:14 | |
Michael Moore can't believe how the tables have turned. Two months ago, the result of our upcoming 2024 presidential election seemed a foregone conclusion, and a second Trump presidency seemed inevitable. But now — just 71 days before the November 5th election — Michael dares to feel hopeful that we may just elect not only our first woman president, but our most progressive! Also on today's episode, Michael discusses the one stain on an otherwise spotless Democratic Convention: Their disrespect of Palestinian-Americans by not letting a single one of them speak on the stage. Shame! We, their allies, will not be silent about the slaughter in Gaza. More to come in Mike’s next Substacks and Podcasts! The first steps in using Michael Moore’s 2024 Election Toolkit are easy: 1. Get your head on straight and put your game face on. Own this one important fact: YOU belong to the Majority! Most Americans have had enough of Trump. Most Americans believe in what Kamala believes in: women’s rights, basic freedoms, Justice for all, a home of one’s own, economic democracy, peace, and a fair shake for all. 2. Go Public! Take today and write your personal declaration to your friends and family as to why you’re voting for Kamala Harris and the Dems on November 5th. Put a sign in the yard. Sign up to volunteer at your local Democratic Party. There’s much work to be done! 3. Never forget: You are not alone! But if you vote alone, we lose. Join with other groups and like-minded people to make this election a historic movement to save our Democracy! More to come in Mike’s next Substacks and Podcasts! | Ep. 220: An Inflated Sense of Inflation (w/ Stephanie Kelton) | 18 Nov 2021 | 01:08:42
To help us untangle the lies around inflation panic, the so-called “labor shortage,” and Build Back Better, Mike is joined by Professor of Economics and Public Policy at Stony Brook University, Stephanie Kelton. They also discuss why it is foolish for Democrats to place the fate of their agenda in the hands of the Congressional Budget Office, and what’s really going on with the economy, as capitalists attempt to keep a pool of workers chronically unemployed and underemployed and desperate for work. | Ep. 219: Stuck In The Middle (w/ Samuel Moyn) | 11 Nov 2021 | 00:47:19
Mike is joined by Yale History and Law Professor Samuel Moyn to discuss his recent op-ed titled, “If Democrats Return To Centrism, They Are Doomed To Lose Against Trump.” They discuss the Democrats passing the physical infrastructure bill, but failing to, as promised, simultaneously pass the much-needed and politically popular human infrastructure bill, plus the decision by 6 Squad members to courageously stick to their word and only vote on both bills together. They also discuss the neverending campaign from corporate Democrats and corporate media pushing the party to move to the “center” and be more “moderate” and water down all of their programs that the American people and the planet currently need.

| Ep. 216: Pass The Damn Bill! (w/ Rep. Ro Khanna) | 22 Oct 2021 | 01:00:13 | |
For the past few weeks, conservative, corporatist Democrats in Congress have been chipping away at what Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders have teamed up to create -- a massive $3.5 trillion investment in the American people. The negotiations on this legislation are ongoing and Mike is joined by a member of Congress fighting to keep the bill as robust and helpful to the majority of Americans as possible, Rep. Ro Khanna of California. Mike and Rep. Khanna discuss what’s in the damn bill, what listeners need to do to help get it passed, what it’s failure might mean to the country, and how devastating it could be politically. They also discuss Rep. Khanna’s collaboration with Paris Hilton to end the abuse of young people at treatment facilities. Finally, Mike listens to your voicemails.
| Ep. 215: Kafka in America. It Can’t Happen Here? (w/ Steven Donziger) | 14 Oct 2021 | 00:59:54 | |
Steven Donziger has spent the last 800 days under house arrest with a government tracking device around his ankle. His crime? Well, Donziger is the lawyer who successfully sued the oil giant Chevron on behalf of the people of Ecuador for deliberately discharging 16 billion gallons of toxic waste in the Ecuadorian Amazon between 1964 and 1992. Donziger and his colleagues succeeded and won a $9.5 billion judgment on behalf of the indigenous and poor communities of Ecuador in 2011. Chevron has yet to pay a dime on this judgement and instead, have brought this case to the friendly confines of the United States and turned Donziger, the person who successfully prosecuted them, into the one doing time. Mike is joined by Steven Donziger, live from his house arrest, to explain the Kafka-esque/Twilight Zone case in which Donziger is serving as the punching bag of corporate America, with the American people footing the bill. They discuss this bizarre and unprecedented case, his condition, and what we all must do to fight back. Episode Notes: Announcement on U.N. Human Rights body ruling that the U.S. government must release Donziger from “arbitrary” detention and compensate him for legal violations: Slate’s piece on the horrific facts of this case:

| Ep. 213: EMERGENCY PODCAST SYSTEM — Rep. Ilhan Omar | 29 Sep 2021 | 00:30:59 | |
Congress could be on the verge of passing a historic investment in America's human and physical infrastructure not seen since the 1930's. The overwhelming majority of the Democratic caucus is behind it, the majority of Americans in countless opinion polls support it and it is the backbone of President Biden's domestic agenda. Yet two Democratic Senators -- Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona -- stand in the way of getting it done. Michael Moore is joined by Rep. Ilhan Omar on this Emergency Podcast System episode of Rumble to find out where this legislation currently stands and what the American people can do to help pass it. The answer: call Senator Sinema and Senator Manchin's offices and tell them to support the Build Back Better Act. Call 202-225-3121 or 202-224-3121

Mike is joined by his longtime friend and fellow mischief-maker Tom Morello, co-founder of “Rage Against The Machine.” They discuss the power of artists to change the world, making art during a pandemic, and Tom’s new album, “The Atlas Underground Fire” which has an amazing, all-star list of collaborators including Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, Chris Stapleton, Mike Posner, Damian Marley, Phantogram and many more. They also discuss the epic performance of “The Ghost of Tom Joad” by Tom and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, the day that Rage and Mike shut down the New York Stock Exchange, what it's like working with Bruce, the upcoming return of “Rage Against The Machine” and much more. Episode Notes: Listen to Tom Morello’s performance with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band of “The Ghost of Tom Joad” in Anaheim, CA in 2008. Last week, we aired Part 1 of Michael's conversation with author Rebecca Traister about President Biden's first six months in office. Afterwards, Mike and Rebecca ended up in an unplanned, revealing and thoughtful discussion about #MeToo, Harvey Weinstein and sexual harassment in progressive media. Traister has written forcefully on issues of gender, feminism, politics and culture. | Ep. 202: The Anti-Vax Movement's Public Enemy #1 with Dr. Peter Hotez | 22 Jul 2021 | 00:53:17
With COVID-19 cases skyrocketing in the U.S. and around the world, and the Delta variant causing havoc, we must face the fact that this pandemic is on the verge causing much more death and illness as students prepare to go back to school next month. This is especially troublesome in regions in the U.S. and regions around the world where overwhelming majorities of citizens (especially teens and children) are unvaccinated. Mike is joined by Dr. Peter Hotez to explain how important the next few months will be, the never-ending battle with both the anti-vax and right-wing misinformation machines, and the inexpensive Covid-19 "people's vaccine" Dr. Hotez has developed at his hospital in Houston that could become one of the cheapest and most accessible vaccines throughout the world. | Ep. 201: Hey, You Know Any Women? (w/ Legendary News Anchor Carol Jenkins) | 15 Jul 2021 | 00:40:20
After first being drafted in 1923 by two leaders of the women’s suffrage movement and then finally being passed by Congress in 1972, the century-long struggle to have the Equal Rights Amendment ratified and gender-equality enshrined in the U.S. Constitution is finally on the brink of succeeding. That's because in 2020, the state of Virginia became the 38th state to ratify the E.R.A. matching the two-thirds threshold needed to ratify a constitutional amendment. However, an arbitrary 7-year time limit on the 1972 legislation has provided one final hurdle that advocates for women's equality must overcome. Since Michael spoke with Rep. Jackie Speier in February, the House has passed her bill to remove the deadline to ratify the E.R.A. Now, it's in the Senate's hands. Michael is joined by the ground-breaking TV anchor and President of the E.R.A. Coalition Carol Jenkins to discuss the next steps towards achieving gender equality in the U.S. Constitution.

| Ep. 200. Police Academy 7: Defund The Police (w/ Desmond Cole) | 08 Jul 2021 | 01:26:17 | |
In recent episodes of Rumble, Michael Moore has shared his ideas for an alternative to the American way of policing: The Department of Public Safety & Compassion. He's also shared his ideas for an alternative to our brutal and racist system of mass incarceration: The Department of Restorative Justice & Redemption. In this episode, Mike is joined by Desmond Cole, an award-winning journalist and activist who recently published his first book called “The Skin We’re In: A Year of Black Resistance & Power.” They discuss the intellectual underpinnings of the movement to defund the police and abolish the prison system, why white liberals should not fear these ideas, and how our society will be better off when we decide to treat each other differently. Plus, Mike shares an update on Darnella Frazier, the courageous teenager who filmed the execution of George Floyd. On Tuesday night her uncle was killed by Minneapolis police who were in the middle of a reckless car chase. Madness. Tragic. 3 Special offers for Rumble listeners!

| Ep. 199: Comedy Legend Larry Charles | 01 Jul 2021 | 01:12:49 | |
Larry Charles is one of the great comedic writers, producers and directors of our time. His credits include his pivotal role during the first seasons of Seinfeld, along with Curb Your Enthusiasm, Mad About You, The Arsenio Hall Show, among many others. He directed the original "Borat," one of the great works of satire of all time. He directed "Religulous," a bold, genius broadside against organized religion. His 2019 Netflix series, "Larry Charles' Dangerous World of Comedy," is an epic journey across the world where comedians live actual dangerous lives. He joins Mike to discuss the state of non-fiction and political satire, the meaning of cancel culture and political correctness, entertainment and propaganda, and how advertisers, censors and an insurance company must sign off on everything we see on TV. They also share some personal stories, including how they created a sitcom pilot together that was greenlit by a major network, but then never made it to air due to advertisers’ objections.

| Ep. 197: Welcome To The Department of Restorative Justice & Redemption (w/ Dan Berger) | 17 Jun 2021 | 00:54:30 | |
America's prison system is brutal, stupid and inhumane. It makes us all less safe and has a terrible impact on other parts of our society such as health care, education, and even how we treat one another. "Reform" or band-aids will not make it better - it must be uprooted, abolished and replaced. Michael Moore recently proposed a "Department of Public Safety & Compassion" to replace the existing way we do policing. In this episode, he proposes a "Department of Restorative Justice & Redemption" to replace our existing Prison Industrial Complex. He is joined by Dan Berger, a scholar who has studied prison abolition for several years. They talk about the never-discussed constituency in America called "the criminalized majority," how cruel behavior in society is often taught by cruel institutions (like prisons) themselves, and what they would do if Kitty Dukakis were raped and murdered. WHOA!

| Ep. 196: "Warren Buffett Is Living Off YOU" (w/ Anand Giridharadas) | 11 Jun 2021 | 00:53:19 | |
The private tax returns of America's wealthiest few individuals were just leaked to the non-profit journalists at ProPublica and they reveal an American plutocracy that has completely avoided paying personal taxes. We already knew that the wealthiest corporations were able to maneuver the tax code to their benefit, but the levels at which the ultra-wealthy are able to avoid taxes is maddening. And it is all LEGAL. Michael is joined by journalist and author Anand Giridharadas to discuss how they've been able to rig the system, why this is Exhibit A for why we need a wealth tax, and why so many working class Americans have been indoctrinated into supporting the rich and being against taxing them more. | Ep. 195: The Graduate (High School Valedictorian Speech Edition) (w/ Paxton Smith) | 09 Jun 2021 | 00:49:37
In Dallas, Texas last week, 18 year-old high school valedictorian Paxton Smith decided at the last minute to throw away her school-approved graduation speech to address a new Texas law signed Republican Governor Greg Abbott that would make all abortions illegal as early as six weeks into a pregnancy. Video of her 3-minute speech has gone viral and caused a rumble - so she joins Rumble with Michael Moore to explain how she summoned the courage to deliver that speech, how positive the reaction has been, whether she defines herself as "politically active, and the best advice she's received since going viral.
| Ep. 194: Welcome To The Department of Public Safety & Compassion | 05 Jun 2021 | 00:33:02 | |
The billions of dollars that currently go to police departments across America are NOT contributing to the safety, health and well-being of our citizens. It's time to re-imagine how we think about "public safety" and "law and order." As police budgets continue to increase (despite calls to defund the police), Michael Moore shares a proposal for the creation of The Department of Public Safety & Compassion in every town in America. Rather than attempting to solve human problems by sending in men with badges and guns, we need to dismantle this anachronistic armed wing of the patriarchy and have a department that will serve and truly protect the public from the real dangers in our society: hunger, the lack of clean drinking water, mental health needs, insufficient healthcare, opioid addiction, inadequate public schools, etc. What if we had Public Safety officers whose sole job was to aid the homeless, the unemployed, the addicted, the mentally ill? Don’t they deserve to be protected? From us? Won’t every neighborhood be better off if those suffering in a society fueled by greed, racism and inequity were helped rather than jailed, abused and abandoned? Wouldn’t there in fact be less “crime” if we chose to attack the real crimes and the true criminals who’ve created these appalling conditions? Instead of a militarized police state, what if we built a compassionate state staffed by those with love in their hearts and the knowledge of how to provide the actual help people need when they call 911? Defund the police? De-police the police! Every neighborhood deserves better, much better. It’s the 21st century, folks. C’mon.

| Ep. 191: Everybody In The Pool! w/ Heather McGhee | 21 May 2021 | 01:03:48 | |
How is it that the richest and most powerful country in the world can't provide even the most basic of human needs for its citizens? What has been holding America back when much poorer countries are able to provide a more stable social safety net? Heather McGhee, one of our most thoughtful economic and policy thinkers has a new book out explaining that racism -- specifically the fear by white Americans that any gains by Black Americans come at their expense -- has reliably turned the majority of white Americans AGAINST government programs that would help all Americans for fear that it would be beneficial to people of color. She joins Michael to discuss what we can do to overcome this decades-long propaganda campaign that has afflicted white America, and how the idea of a "solidarity dividend" can unite a multi-racial, cross-class coalition to take on concentrated wealth and power and build a better country.

| Ep. 190: Tax Day In America... Time To Fund The Killing Of More Palestinians! | 18 May 2021 | 01:01:38 | |
As the decades-long ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from their homeland by Israel has intensified over the past week, Michael Moore shares his thoughts on America's culpability in funding these atrocities. He also recounts his trips to the Occupied West Bank and Gaza in the 1980's, his history of activism with Flint and Detroit's large Jewish and Arab populations, and why the U.S. government must stop funding Israeli apartheid and violence. Michael also shares his concerns with the dangerous announcement by the CDC to loosen the mask standards when only one-third of Americans have been vaccinated, plus the scary news that the conservative Supreme Court will be taking up a new abortion case that might continue to weaken a women's right to choose. | Ep. 187: It’s Like Herding Americans! How To Defeat COVID This Year (w/ Laurie Garrett) | 07 May 2021 | 01:34:39
Michael is joined by public health expert and Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Laurie Garrett to discuss the new reports that the United States of America will never reach herd immunity to the coronavirus. President Biden seemed somewhat defeated when he had to announce recently that we will have to settle for 70% getting just one shot by the 4th of July. They discuss how each of us are the most important ambassadors for total vaccination success. If 200,000 Average American citizens who are listening to this podcast each convince 10 people to get their shots — BOOM! Yes, there is a small portion of the American public who will simply refuse to get the vaccine and whom we cannot reach. However, most of the people avoiding vaccination have fears and skepticism — and each of us can help convince them with our support, encouragement, kindness and love. President Biden — don’t give up on us. We’ll get millions of those sleeves rolled up by summer!
| Ep. 311: Down is Up, War Is Peace, Ignorance is Strength — or, There Is No Such Thing as Abdominal Surgery, and Why You’re Afraid Trump Could Win. | 18 Mar 2024 | 01:01:24 | |
On today’s podcast with Michael Moore, Mike answers the burning questions surrounding the disappearance of the Princess of Wales and then dumps a bucket of ice water on us so we can wake up and finally admit the Central Truths we didn’t want to acknowledge in 2016: A. Trump is smarter than us. If you don’t think so, then stop right now and tell me how YOU could get elected President while sexually assaulting women (then bragging about it); lying about your worth in order to defraud banks and not pay your taxes; and finally ordering state officials to stuff a ballot box with 11,780 nonexistent votes for you. He may be an idiot and a bigot, but he’s also an evil genius (with the emphasis on genius). B. Trump has never been convicted of a crime, and has never spent a single night in jail. How delusional do we have to be to believe that after a 50-year career of Trump committing one perfect crime after another that suddenly now his unbroken streak of evading the law is going to come to an end?! C. The Special Prosecutor will not save us. Fani Willis will not save us. The Trump-appointed Bankers Boxes judge will not save us. The electoral college will definitely not save us. | Ep. 184: EMERGENCY PODCAST SYSTEM — Guilty! Guilty! Guilty! | 21 Apr 2021 | 00:52:10
It took only 10 hours of deliberations for a Minneapolis jury to find former police office Derek Chauvin guilty of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter of George Floyd. The decision was swift, overwhelming, obvious, and yet, somehow, shocking. Maybe it should not have been such a shock that jurors in the political district that elected Rep. Ilhan Omar to Congress (twice) made the right decision. However, as Michael Moore explains in this EMERGENCY PODCAST SYSTEM episode of Rumble, it is not normal for these cases to go the right way. He shares his feeling of total shock, plus his warning to white Americans and police officers who do not want to see America change into a more diverse, just, and equitable society. He also explains how this one act of accountability is not the massive, revolutionary change we need to address white supremacy, criminal justice reform, and anti-Black racism. Finally, he pays tribute to Darnella Frazier, the courageous teenager who filmed the the Chauvin murder with a steady hand and a lot of gumption. | Ep. 177: “Clips from This This Episode Will Be Run On The Night I'm Not So Lucky" (w. Flint Rep. Dan Kildee) | 30 Mar 2021 | 01:01:46
On Thursday, March 25th, Ron Weiser, Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party, described the 3 top elected women in Michigan - Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Attorney General Dana Nessel, and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson - as “the three witches.” And when asked about how Republicans can remove from office the two Michigan Republican Congressmen who voted to impeach Trump, he stated that, other than defeating them in the primary, "assassination" was the only other option.
Weiser is one more example of the heightened risk we face of more political violence and assassinations. We hear a clip from Glenn Beck publicly wondering if he should kill Michael Moore and could he get away with it? Instead of waiting for right-wing crazies to commit more acts of violence against the Michigan “witches,” Michael Moore asks what must be done to stop this potential violence, and to save the lives of elected representatives targeted by the head of the Republican Party. Is it free speech to call for someone’s death? He is joined on this episode by Flint, Michigan Congressman Dan Kildee who survived the January 6th attack on the Capitol. They discuss the existence of Republican political violence in America, and whatever happened to the "9/11-style" Congressional commission that was supposed to investigate the January 6th insurrection.

| Ep. 310: Biden Must Save Biden From Himself. It's the Only Way to Ensure Trump Never Sets Foot in the Oval Office Again. | 04 Mar 2024 | 00:45:49 | |
Over 100,000 Michigan voters in the Democratic Presidential Primary last week sent a message to Biden. Their message was strong and clear: End this war. Stop funding Israel's slaughter. Young voters in this 21st century will not support a president who funds a massacre, and if Biden continues to ignore the wishes of the vast majority of Americans, he will lose thousands of people in November who simply won't vote, and Trump will win by default. Between the stupid disaster occurring in Texas to the continuing stupid rampage of Covid-19 to the death of S. Rush Limbaugh, it's been a banner week for enforced ignorance and prideful stupidity in America. Michael Moore makes the connection between the unique strain of American idiocy, the never-ending addiction to the myths about the "free market" and privatization, and one of the loudest and most destructive voices in the country with his legacy of ignorance, hate, fear and violence he leaves behind. Finally, Michael reflects on the passing of Jim Ridgeway, an investigative journalist who left an indelible mark in journalism, on the left, and in Michael's life and career.
