Épisode 2
lundi 19 janvier 2026 • Durée 45:37
Have you ever wondered what people mean when they talk about listening to the body or regulating their nervous system?
In this episode I dive into the foundations of somatic work, particularly focusing on the creating a felt sense of safety in the nervous system. This episode emphasizes the importance of understanding our bodies in order to foster a deeper connection with ourselves and the world around us. You'll learn practical tools for expanding your window of tolerance, and helping your body to differentiate between lack of safe and simply uncomfortable situations. The episode serves as a guide for listeners to explore their own experiences with dysregulation and offers insights into how somatic therapy can help individuals reclaim their power and live more authentically.

3. Embodied Herbalism: A Relational Approach to Plant Medicine
Épisode 3
lundi 19 janvier 2026 • Durée 26:36
Traditional herbal systems were built based on deep relationships with the places people lived, and the plants they engaged with. These traditional practices recognize plants as teachers, guides and kin; it is only relatively recently that Western people lost their connect to the wisdom world of nature.
In this episode I speak about herbalism from an embodied perspective, sharing both my personal journey and the historical significance of herbal medicine. Plants have been one of the primary forms of medicine for thousands of years, and we have so much to learn from our ancestors about the respect and reverence for the natural world. This episode explores the importance of approaching herbalism with humility, reciprocity, and a focus on building meaningful relationships with plants, rather than merely viewing them as medicinal resources for extraction.

1. My Journey of Embodiment
Épisode 1
dimanche 18 janvier 2026 • Durée 32:06
Welcome to The Marie Embodied Podcast!
In this opening episode I sit down for a vulnerable share about my journey towards embodiment. I discuss my early years of religious trauma and substance abuse which left me shattered and disconnected from myself. Through body based practices like yoga, somatic therapy and Traditional Western Herbalism I began to heal my nervous system and piece myself back together. I eventually became a Clincal Herbalist and Somatic Herbalist myself to share these medicines with the the world and support others towards embodied healing.
This podcast will be about the perspectives, frameworks and modalities that guided me home to my body, allowing me to create a life of meaning, belonging, wonder, enchantment, and wholeness.

6. Navigating Darkness: Nature is the Compass with Travis Cartwright
Épisode 6
lundi 9 février 2026 • Durée 01:34:47
In this episode I sit down with my partner, Travis Cartwright, to explore how we can orient ourselves towards love and connection in a world that can feel dark and bleak. We explore the danger avoiding the shadow aspects of reality, and the gifts that come from a willingness to come into contact with the messy, feral, dark parts of life.
Travis is a cancer survivor who now works in herbal cancer care; he also works as a paramedic and comes into contact with pain, darkness, death, and discomfort on a regular basis. His deep connection to nature through herbalism, bow hunting and other rewilding practices has been his guide and compass since his teens after growing up in a community riddled with violence and disconnection. Travis offers a message of hope through forming relationship with the living world and living a life of meaning from an embodied, experiential place.
May this episode act as a reminder to turn our attention to nature, and let its wisdom lead us through the darkest nights.
Trigger warning: We discuss acts of violence, homophobia, death, cancer, and general hardship throughout the episode.

The Somatic Sisterhood Circle is a weekly touch point to attune to the wisdom of your body while being held in sisterhood. Each circle includes embodiment practices and meaningful conversations. The next eight week series will be focused on Reclaiming Womanhood: Healing from Good-Girl Conditioning.
Society asks girls and women to shrink themselves. Be good, pretty, capable (but not too capable), take care of others, sacrifice yourself, and do it all with a smile. Our depth, magic, eros, fierceness, intellect, and aliveness has been controlled and manipulated. Our wildness has been repressed. This circle is about freeing ourselves from the good girl conditioning and embodying something more raw and real. Learn more.

11. Exposing My Shadow: A Vulnerable Share
Épisode 11
lundi 16 mars 2026 • Durée 45:54
In this deeply personal episode, I open up about a part of the healing journey that many would rather avoid: shadow work. I discuss my own shadows and basis that were born from being raised in a very sheltered Christian family, and how I’m shining a light on my own unconcious beliefs. I explore how the hidden parts of the self can shape the direction of our lives, and how the shadow holds powerful information about our greatest gifts, purpose and magic.
Drawing from my work as a herbalist and somatic therapist, I weave together my personal story, embodiment, and practical insight to show how turning toward these hidden aspects can become a profound gateway to self-ownership and growth.
This episode is an invitation to meet yourself more honestly, and to liberate yourself from the pain, shame, beliefs, patterns, and traumas that have been hidden for too long.

Unmasking the Shadow
Within every person lives an unexpressed shadow - aspects of the self that have been hidden, rejected and pushed away due to trauma, pain and cultural conditioning. The shadow contains our deepest pain, and, when integrated, has the potential to reveal our greatest gifts, purpose and magic. In Unmasking the Shadow we'll work with somatic (body-based) tools to peel back layers of conditioning and create a space for your wild and authentic self to flourish. Learn more.

9. Healing Chronic Disease & Trauma Through Breathwork with Tess Rouse
Épisode 9
lundi 2 mars 2026 • Durée 56:55
What does it mean when people quote Bessel van der Kolk and say "the body keeps the score"?
In this episode I sit down with guest Tess Rouse to delve into the transformative power of breathwork and the mind-body connection. Tess shares her personal journey from battling autoimmune diseases for nearly two decades to discovering breathwork. Through the breath she realized that the diseases that she'd been told were incurable were rooted in unprocessed chidhood trauma, and her willingness to breath through her emotions became her pathway to healing.
We explore how the breath can support people to awaken within their own lives by processing unfelt emotional baggage from the past, and widening people's capacity for presence, leadership, and authenticity. If you have been seeking out practical somatic tools for nervous system regulation, emotional processing, and mind-body healing - this conversation is for you.
