Ep 52 | New Age to Christianity: How I Found Jesus in Adulthood

Saison 6 · Épisode 52

lundi 29 juillet 2024Durée 38:38

Many of us are inquisitive women who are seeking to find peace and purpose in the world around us. For some of us this has led us down a path of exploring different faiths, philosophies and practises. We can sometimes feel ourselves pulling away from what we view as more traditional religion because we feel it’s not personal enough, but that’s when we need to dig deeper. Self-discovery, self-actualisation and commercialised New Age trends won’t fulfill us, but we know something that can.

How do we shift from entertaining aspects of general spirituality and cultural Christianity to authentically choosing to follow Jesus? Listen as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Joey Darlinn in the Magnify Studio for Ep 52 ‘New Age to Christianity: How I Found Jesus in Adulthood'.

Ep 51 | Why Money Talks Are Essential in a Successful Marriage

Saison 6 · Épisode 51

lundi 22 juillet 2024Durée 53:44

A lot of emphasis is placed on the topics of money and marriage, but when we combine the two we are able to magnify many existing issues, and expose how deep our core values really go. Financial expectations and talking about how we should spend and save isn’t always comfortable, but it is necessary to have a thriving relationship that honours God and our spouse. So much anxiety and fear comes from money dysmorphia, a lack of financial literacy or personal experiences with poverty or debt. We’re learning how to deepen our faith and manage our finances better by tapping into Biblical money management tips.

How do we have open and honest conversations about finances that lead to positive outcomes, when it can be awkward to bring up in a relationship? Listen as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Tolu Frimpong in the Magnify Studio for Ep 51 ‘From "I Do" to "We Do": Why Money Talks Are Essential in a Successful Marriage'.

Ep 42 | Breaking the Burnout Cycle

Saison 6 · Épisode 42

lundi 20 mai 2024Durée 48:07

Wanting to pursue our passions and reach our full potential isn’t an inherently bad mindset to have, but it can turn toxic when it becomes all consuming. Burnout is something that can feel inevitable but if we work on learning what leads up to these moments of exhaustion, overworking and zoning out, we can take more of a proactive approach to set boundaries, and become aware of the keys to restoration. We want to live healthy and fulfilling lives that constantly empower us to have a perfect blend of hard work and rest that prioritises focusing on our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

What lies at the core of us glorifying productivity over rest, and how does burnout affect the mind, body and spirit? Watch as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Tiwalola Ogunlesi in the Magnify Studio for Ep 42 ‘Breaking the Burnout Cycle: Striking a Balance Between Hustle and Soft Life’.

Ep 41 | Limitless Women Defy Labels

Saison 6 · Épisode 41

lundi 13 mai 2024Durée 01:04:19

We are constantly being bombarded with ideals and suggestions of how we as women should live and act. This seeps into all areas of people's lives relating to work, family and wider society. It can be perplexing to know how to slash stereotypes and build confidence, especially when we’re exploring whether being a nonconformist comes from a healthy place of wanting to fulfill our potential, or if it comes from a place of wanting to prove others wrong. A desire to do more and not follow one traditional path can teach us a lot about our confidence, agility and spiritual tenacity.

What should a woman, career woman and woman of faith look like and how do we successfully embrace our multifaceted talents and interests? Watch as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Veena Babu in the Magnify Studio for Ep 41 ‘Limitless Women Defy Labels: Why Should I Stay in One Lane?’.

Ep 40 | Leaving Islam, Finding Jesus

Saison 5 · Épisode 40

lundi 22 avril 2024Durée 01:13:50

Exploring and searching for truth and meaning in a world that is constantly embracing different beliefs and spirituality can be tricky. It can feel misguided or taboo when we’ve grown up in a religion or culture that doesn’t encourage curiosity. For many of us, our defining beliefs aren’t just a philosophy or guide to how we live, but a massive part of our identity. We can be shamed for rejecting our roots when we steer away from what we were raised with and that can have painful results. Converting can result in being disowned and experiencing fractured family relationships.

How can we find peace and contentment in the midst of losing closeness with our loved ones, because they don’t agree with our faith walk? Watch as our host Rachel Calland is joined by Fadila Hale and Sahar Twesigye in the Magnify Studio for Ep 40 ‘Leaving Islam, Finding Jesus’.

Ep 39 | Keeping Up Appearances

Saison 5 · Épisode 39

lundi 15 avril 2024Durée 01:07:09

We all want to put our best foot forward and have the image of being put together and being in our element in our professional and personal lives, but we can often fall into the trap of comparison. We can default to putting on the strong woman persona, because somewhere along the way we have made vulnerability and needing help to be synonymous with weakness. We wanted to discuss where these ideas stem from and why we can sometimes find it difficult to value ourselves when we don’t feel like we’re keeping up appearances.

How can we celebrate our wins while also leaving space for the not so sweet moments? Watch as our hosts Rachel Calland and Sinead Minkah are joined by Adjoa Odetayo and Diane Tuffuoh in the Magnify Studio for Ep 39 ‘Keeping Up Appearances’.
