| KGS228 | How Leaders Can Reclaim Their Zone of Genius And Become A More Effective Leader with Ana Liebel And Kingsley Grant | 19 Feb 2021 | 00:46:20 | |
+++ IT'S IN THE GENIUS +++ You may have heard the phrase, "It's in the genes!" Right? Normally when the phrase is used as a way of highlighting skills, it is generally used in a celebratory way to make sure you know this is something that cannot be duplicated because it is in the genes. I tend to see this a lot in the sports industry as players celebrate their skills and pridefully proclaim where those kinds of skills originate. But when last have you heard someone say, "It's in the genius?" I would dare say, very little or never. Well, this episode, even though it doesn't use the "it's in the genius" phrase, implies that leaders who tap into their zone of genius and find their true self are almost unstoppable. Take a listen as our guest - Ana Liebel - explains. ++++++++++ Who is ANA LIEBEL? Anna is a leadership and team development consultant, a global citizen with a Ukrainian heart, and a tech project manager dedicated to people growth. With an education from three European countries, 6+ years of project management experience within various industries, and leading cross-functional and international teams, Anna is well-equipped to bring a new perspective to the challenges that modern leaders are occupied with. Anna helps leaders reclaim their genius zone by eliminating reactivity, transforming their leadership, and becoming catalysts of a thriving company culture. ++++++++++ Please share this episode with one other person and leave a comment on the platform through which you listen to this show and/or on social media. | KGS218 | Essential Skills Effective Leaders Use to Lead and Succeed in Todays Workplace by Brett Cooper and Evans Kerrigan with Kingsley Grant | 05 Dec 2020 | 00:48:25
+++ ALWAYS ESSENTIAL +++ How often have you heard the terms non-essential and essential as it relates to the pandemic and lock-downs? Have you, like me, ever wondered who determines something or someone as essential? To classify something or someone as essential means everything or everyone else is non-essential. Is that what is being conveyed? Here's what I know, the label of essential is determined by who is in need at the moment. To the hungry, it's the one who provides food. To the thirsty, it's the one who provides a drink. To the homeless, it's the one who provides shelter. Having said that, I believe the term essential can be used in the context of skills. Every successful leader became successful because they mastered a few essential skills. In this episode of The Kingsley Grant Show, our guests - Brett Cooper and Evans Kerrigan, will help us understand what leadership essential skills are needed to succeed in today's workplace. +++++++ Who are BRETT M. | KGS127 | The 5 Types Of Leaders Killing Your Business And What To Do About Them by Kingsley Grant | 08 Oct 2019 | 00:34:19
+++ KILLING SO SOFTLY +++ There's an oldie but goodie song that was very popular in the 70's sung by the Fugees, entitled: Killing me softly that I loved. The chorus went like this: "Strumming my pain with his fingers I know this might be dating me and maybe you if you remembered it. If you don't, no worries because it is really not the point. The phrase "killing me softly" captures what happens within an organization where leaders are the "killers" but it's happening so softly, that it goes unnoticed until it's too late. Do you know leaders like that? Have you ever worked for one like that? Would you agree they are killing the business? As you listen to this episode, see if you can identify any of these 5 leaders who are business "killers." I believe they are the ones that the phrase "people don't leave companies, they leave bosses," are about. Let me know if you agree. | KGS126 | How To Prevent A Toxic Workplace That Leads To Disengagement Low Productivity And High Turnover with Robertson Stewart and Kingsley Grant | 04 Oct 2019 | 00:40:13
+++ TOO TOXIC, I'M OUT +++ Have you ever been surrounded by toxic co-workers or find yourself working for a toxic boss? Do you remember what it was like or are you currently going through the pain of one? It's not a nice environment to be in. You feel stuck because you may need the money but you wish you could be somewhere else. You go to work and just do what you have to do and leave. Right? When this happens, I blame the leader. Do you? He or she can or should be doing something about it. Unfortunately, if they are the toxic ones, you are simply out of luck. You only have one option ... I'm out! Today's guest - Robertson Stewart - discusses the consequences of a toxic workplace and what leaders can do to prevent it. Here's a brief description of Robertson and how you can connect with him. | KGS125 | Using DiSC Assessment For Better Communication and Conflict Resolution Within The Workplace with Paul Grau Jr and Kingsley Grant | 03 Oct 2019 | 01:00:29
+++ MAKEOVER OPPORTUNITY +++ There are so many makeover-shows that adding one more makeover to the mix could easily cause you to go "Oh no, not another one." If that is your first reaction, I fully understand. But could you humor me and not be so quick to conclude this is another one? Because it really isn't. This episode is like a master-class by our guest expert - Paul Grau Jr - on how the DiSC assessment is used in helping to identify people's strengths and how it shows up in the workplace. With this information, you as a leader or an employee will gain insights into why certain people behave the way they do, including you. PAUL GRAU JR's BIO:

| KGS124 | Your Extroverted DiSC Leadership Style Could Be An Asset Or A Liability by Kingsley Grant | 01 Oct 2019 | 00:23:08 | |
+++ EXTROVERT DILEMMA +++ Do you know an extrovert? Are you an extrovert? Do you know that they can be annoying to someone who is wired quite the opposite from them and without self-awareness, can cause harm to relationships around them? They are great "cheerleaders" and the world needs them, but they have some limitations that undermine their credibility. However, because of their persuasive strengths, they tend to compensate until their greatest fear becomes their reality. In this episode, you'll hear what their greatest fear is plus about the other qualities that could work for them or against them. | KGS123 | Your Dominant Disc Leadership Style Could Be An Asset Or A Liability by Kingsley Grant | 30 Sep 2019 | 00:22:04
+++ D-DAY +++ When most people hear the phrase D-Day, they generally think of it being a war-associated phrase. I'm one of those. But to some people, it may mean something else. What does it mean to you? Another way some have thought about it is that it's decision day. I have used the decision-day more often than that of the war-association. However, it could mean a number of other things. In this episode, it means a personality style known as Dominant. It is based upon the universally known DiSC assessment. You will have a chance to see what this style of leadership does and how it could be an asset or a liability. | KGS122 | 7 Behaviors Leaders Need To Avoid At All Cost by Kingsley Grant | 24 Sep 2019 | 00:34:13
+++ LIKE THE PLAGUE +++ There are a number of precautions I take to avoid certain things in life such as the spread of germs. I hate it when I'm in a crowded space and someone lets out a huge sneeze and not cover their mouth. They'll put their head to the side or face down towards the ground as if the ground or space is going to absorb their germs. Uggh! Disgusting! Do you feel that way too? When that happens I try to quickly cover my nostrils. Like my attempt to avoid acquiring someone else's germs, leaders need to make every attempt to avoid these following 7 behaviors. In full transparency, these are taken from an article my friend Brigette Hyacinth posted on her LinkedIn page. Here's the link to the full article if you are interested. In this episode, you'll hear how these behaviors can have an enormous impact, in a negative way, on any organization. These are complete deal breakers:

| KGS119 | Which Of These 5 Reasons For Low Engagement and High Turnover Are You Guilty Of by Kingsley Grant | 11 Sep 2019 | 00:34:06 | |
+++ GUILTY AS CHARGED +++ How easy is it to blame or point the finger to others for something that we are guilty of. Do you know anyone who does that? Do you do that? We all are at some point guilty as charged. No one can say I've never done it. When people are leaving the workplace in droves or are less engaged in their work, some leaders are quick to point the finger and not take responsibility for what might be their doing. But it's not all on the leader. Sometimes the leader is working with the hand they were dealt, which makes it challenging for them to lead effectively. Some of what leads people to quit or be less engaged at work, is found in todays episode. See if you agree or identify in anyway with what you hear. I'd love to know your thoughts. | KGS118 | How Would You Score On These 4 Leadership Skills And How To Improve Them with Roberta Moore and Kingsley Grant | 10 Sep 2019 | 00:45:44
+++ WINNERS LOVE SCORECARD +++ Who is keeping score? This statement have different meanings. In relationships, there is someone who is constantly keeping score to make sure their is fairness. It's their way of building up their arsenal for a later time. In a game, it is used to make sure everyone knows the outcome. Winners love to point to the scorecards. Not so much for losers. | KGS116 | Which of These 5 Primary Causes of Burnout Are You Guilty Of by Kingsley Grant | 28 Aug 2019 | 00:28:24
+++ TOO BURNOUT TO KNOW +++ There was a time in my life that I would say I had symptoms of burnout but didn't know it. Actually I didn't want to know. If I did, I more than likely would not have acknowledged it or agreed with the diagnosis. Burnout implied weakness. As a man, not to mention a Caribbean man at that, I should be able to handle anything. I simply had to "tough it up." Don't feel was my motto to life's situation. Just deal with it. I don't think I'm the only one who thought this way. I wonder how many people today are showing signs of burnout or is experiencing medical issues that seem to come from nowhere? It's not genetics necessarily but it is somewhat unexplainable. Could it be burnout? Here are some symptoms: Type 2 diabetes, elevated cholesterol, coronary heart diseases, gastrointestinal issues, and even death. In this episode, I talk about the 5 Primary Cause of Burnout as was stated in a research done by Gallup. As a leader, see if you identify with what you're hearing, seeing or feeling in your interaction with your people. | KGS115 | Find Out Which Of These 5 Familiar Leadership Styles Is The Least Effective by Kingsley Grant | 27 Aug 2019 | 00:31:14
+++ THUMBS DOWN TO THIS ONE +++ Clicking on a thumbs down icon or image, signifies a dislike, disagreement or distaste for something. Often, when I read an article that is meant to help me solve a problem, I'm given the chance to show my reaction to the content. This is done with two options: a thumbs up or a thumbs down. From time to time, I will click on one or the other. I've noticed that my clicks tend to be on the thumbs down more than the thumbs up. Why is this so? Is it because I don't get the solution I'm looking for? No. It's what I believe most of us do. We are more apt to point out the negative than we do the positive. Am I right? This is also true in the area of leadership. There are some very good leaders who never hear how well they are leading from their team members. However, they'll hear it quickly when they fail to lead as was being expected. There is one type of leadership that I believe will almost always get the thumbs down. In this episode of The Kingsley Grant Show, you will discover 5 Familiar Styles of Leadership with one of them being the least effective and is rewarded with a thumbs down. Find out which one. | KGS114 | 3 Ways To Lead Like A Pro In The Age Of Artificial Intelligence by Kingsley Grant | 24 Aug 2019 | 00:25:27
+++ WON'T BE THE SAME +++ Every now and then there seems to be a food war among fast-food companies. Each one is trying to outdo the other by making a similar kind of product and promoting it as better than the other. The one that was first on the market - product #1 - has conditioned people's taste buds as to how that product should taste. Some people will have a hard time accepting product #2 as equal or better than product #1. So it is with Artificial Intelligence (AI). It is product #2 when it comes to being human-like. AI will never take the place of a human being all things being equal. Of course, there will be exceptions for a number of reasons. Because AI is here among us and is getting more and more prevalent in our world, some people are worried that they will be replaced by robots. Will they? Can leaders help their people to be better prepared? In this episode, I share three ways leaders can help their people be better prepared, reduce their anxieties, and embrace this technology. | KGS113 | Beyond The Resume Focus On Hiring EQ Over IQ And Here Is Why by Kingsley Grant | 21 Aug 2019 | 00:22:41
+++ BEST WHEN EQ’d +++ Recently I was eating something and it just didn’t taste fresh. My taste buds recoiled when the taste of the product leaked out from my chewing. Ewwww! My brow knitted, my eyes shut tightly closed for a minute, and my facial muscles contracting. Have you ever had one of those moments? Immediately, I looked at the date label to see what it said. Here’s the very first thing I read: “Best if used by ___”. I realized that it was beyond the suggested date. Had I eaten the product within the time slot suggested, and within the early stages of the date range, my reaction would be a whole lot different. What does this have to do with hiring people? A lot. So many people have been hired based on their ability to skillfully and convincingly sell themselves. Some people hire resume writers to create impressive resumes. Others are great writers themselves. But is that enough? Why is it that like the “taste” of an expired product, do some hiring managers experience similar face contortions in realizing they made a mistake? What did they miss? In this episode, I share what hiring managers most likely missed and what they can do about it. | KGS112 | 5 Ways Employees Can Help Their Leaders Create A Healthy Working Environment by Kingsley Grant | 20 Aug 2019 | 00:29:06
+++ POWER TO THE PEOPLE +++ Before you get the wrong impression, this is not a call to some kind of rebellion. Quite the contrary as you'll read and hear. But there comes a time when we've got to realize we are more powerful than we are. Too often we hear so much victim stories, that we've almost accepted that as the status quo of life. I see and hear about this a lot in the workplace. And there are many reasons why it continues. Leaders who aren't skilled or insightful enough to intentionally shrink the divide between leadership and employee, end up losing their best talents and having mediocre productivity and performance. Emotelligent or effective leaders create healthy environments to offset these losses but they do so with a partnership approach.. When employees know that their leader is Emotelligent or partnership focused, they will help them create healthy working environment. They - the employees - will:
All of this is good for the overall health of the organization. In this episode, we expand on each of the 5 ways employees help their leaders create a healthy workplace. | KGS111 | Remarkable Leaders Leverage Authority and Influence On Behalf Of Their Team with Josh Elledge and Kingsley Grant | 16 Aug 2019 | 00:52:55
+++ LEVERAGE YOUR POSITION +++ Andy Stanley, pastor of one of the largest church in America - Northpoint in Atlanta, made this statement about leadership: “You leverage that power for the benefit of other people in the room.” Many people in leadership positions do quite the opposite. They use their power and position to serve their selfish agenda. Little do they know that this approach will work against them and their organization, in the long run. How often have I heard, or read of people purposefully undermine this kind of leadership? They do just enough to get the job done. This is less than they would if leaders had used their power and position for the good of their people. So how do leaders change this leadership/employee dance? In this episode, our guest Josh Elledge shares some of what we as leaders can do, which ultimately allows us to succeed where others failed. Who is Josh Elledge? BIO: Josh is a U.S. Navy veteran. He launched UpMyInfluence.com to help turn entrepreneurs into media celebrities increasing their authority, influence, and revenue. He also started SavingsAngel.com which has grossed more than $6 million in sales with less than $500 in advertising. Josh writes a syndicated newspaper column to 1.1 million readers and regularly appears on more than 75 TV stations across the country. All told, Josh has appeared in the media more than 2000 times. | KGS110 | Employees Want Their Leaders To Pay Attention To These 5 Domains by Kingsley Grant | 10 Aug 2019 | 00:23:08
+++ IT'S ALL ABOUT THE 5 +++ You have 5 fingers, 5 toes, and 5 domains. Domains? Yes. Here's what the Cambridge dictionary say about the word domain: it's an area of interest or an area over which a person has control. In my book: The Emotelligent Leader - Succeed Where Others Failed, I mention five domains, which are:
They all need to be addressed. To do and not the other leads to imbalance. Many people find their lives out of balance when they're not making time or space to address them. Because of this, employees expect their leaders to provide space for them to attend to these domains and not only for them, but also for the leader to be intentional when it comes to helping them achieve this balance. In this episode, you'll hear how I expanded on them and give illustrations and examples of how leaders can address them Please share this episode with one other person and leave a comment on the platform through which you listen to this show and/or on social media. | KGS108 | Emotelligence Is The New Intelligence And What Difference Does it Make by Kingsley Grant | 01 Aug 2019 | 00:28:18
+++ SMARTY PANTS NO LONGER NEEDED +++ Webster’s dictionary gives this definition of a “smarty pants” - a person who talks and behaves like someone who knows everything. Do you know anyone like that? Be careful what you say or where you point. I’ve been surrounded by people who were given the designation of being a “smarty pants.” Normally, it was done out of jealousy and even envy. There were a couple students that I went to high school with that I was jealous of simply because they talked and behaved like someone who knows a lot. And for the most part they did … when it came to academics. Oh yes, but not so smart when it came to being social. They were more of a loner. Raise your hand if you had similar experience. OK. I’m not the only one. What I didn’t know is that I had something on them, which would later in life give me an edge on them. Why? What I had could be developed. It was a skill. There were room for growth and I grew. What they had was pretty much tapped out. Now I realize that what I had, had a name. I just didn’t know it at the time. It was emotional intelligence, which I have embraced to the point of coining a new word … Emotelligence. What's that? Oh, it is having the ability to recognize, understand and manage one’s emotions and the emotions of others and being better skilled at decision making, relationship management and job performance. That’s where I was smart and that it’s documented that the latter is greater than the former. Tune in to this episode to hear more and to get a deeper and better understanding of Emotelligence. | KGS216 | Why Emotional Self Awareness Is The Most Important Skill You Need To Succeed As A Leader by Kingsley Grant | 18 Nov 2020 | 00:36:49
+++ YES, AND IN LIFE +++ Notice the word AND. It is a very useful word when you want to truly engage people in a conversation. It is the opposite of using the word BUT. How many times have you been in conversation and someone says something and follows up immediately with the word BUT? When he or she did, what was your gut reaction? If you are like me, your system went into alert and tensed up as you braced for what would come next. Isn't that so? The word BUT tend to negate all that came prior to its insertion into the conversation. However, if that person was able to skillfully use the word AND instead of BUT, the outcome would be a whole lot different. Wouldn't it? In this episode of The Kingsley Grant Show, you'll discover why emotional self-awareness is the most important skill you need to get better results in your professional and personal relationships. | KGS107 | 5 Ways Leaders Can Confront Underperforming Employees Without Shattering Their Self Esteem by Kingsley Grant | 30 Jul 2019 | 00:27:16
+++ IT'S NOT ALL THEIR FAULT +++ What would happen if people who are part of a system - family, work, sport, etc, share the blame when something goes wrong even if they were not the main person responsible? It's so easy to quickly point the finger and come down on someone when something goes wrong. And it's amazing how quickly some of these same people take credit when things go right. They are willing to share even when they didn't have a direct input in the outcome. This happens a lot in the workplace. Leaders are quick to take credit for the success of the company or department, but are just as quick to lay the blame for things going "wrong" at the feet of others. Fully blaming someone for not performing up to par is not what Emotelligent leaders do. To find out a better way, listen to this episode of The Kingsley Grant Show. | KGS106 | 3 Reasons Leaders Who Lead From Their Heart Wins The Allegiance Of Their Followers and How You Can Too by Kingsley Grant | 29 Jul 2019 | 00:29:32
+++ THE HEART WINS ALL THE TIME +++ The notion that leaders can only get the “work” done through brute force, threats, coercion, or with some other power move, has lingered for too long. The results from studies and polls show otherwise. Gallup has shown where 87% of workers are actively and/or simply disengaged within the workplace. Production is mediocre. It could be better. But how? More power moves? Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. What if leaders could move away from leading only with their heads towards their hearts. would the results be better? Studies after studies have shown where it is. And there are 3 Reasons for this phenomena. In this episode, you will hear what those 3 reasons are. | KGS105 | Emotelligence or Intelligence What To Look For In The Hiring Process by Kingsley Grant | 26 Jul 2019 | 00:33:06
+++ TO HIRE OR NOT TO HIRE +++ How do you hire new employees? Their education and experiences? How were you hired as an employee? Do you remember? Most of my past jobs that I've had with the exception of one, were based on my education and experience. My RESUME. Yay! In some cases, thank God for that. Maybe you can say the same. Those ways of hiring people are over or ought to be. Is it any wonder people do not last long at the job THEY applied for and was hired for. Maybe, just maybe, they were not a good fit. But how do you make sure to hire for "good fit?" In this episode, you'll hear a new and proven approach plus the argument for college education or not. | KGS104 | The One Most Important Trait Of Strategic Leadership That You Need To Know And Adapt with Cliff Ravenscraft and Kingsley Grant | 25 Jul 2019 | 00:57:15
+++ RIGHT BELIEF, RIGHT BEHAVIOR +++ One of my favorite quotes that I use quite often with some of my clients is this: "Your belief shapes your behavior." Think about any of your behaviors - good or bad - for a second. Look closely at the behavior chosen and you'll find a belief system that fuels it. These beliefs could be totally skewed, yet you act on it. Why? Our guest - Cliff Ravenscraft - will explain in this episode. One of the things he said, which stuck with me is that your belief is a thought that you have made into a fact. Of course he said it more eloquently than I just did. Who is Cliff Ravenscraft? He is a business mentor, life coach and motivational speaker. He mentors coaches, consultants and thought leaders through the transition from their unfulfilling day job into their own responsible and profitable online business so that they can live the life of their dreams and do the work they feel most called to do in this world. | KGS103 | The Top 5 Most Important Leadership Competencies According to World Leaders by Kingsley Grant | 24 Jul 2019 | 00:32:01
+++ IT'S ABOUT COMPETENCY +++ Have you ever encountered someone who surprised you by their level of incompetence? The surprise came because you assumed based upon their title or role, they should know more than they are demonstrating. I've had one or two professors who made me wonder how they made it to the level of being hired as a professor. I leave their class thinking it would have been better if I stayed home and did self-learning. The issue ... competency. According to dictionary dot com, competence means: the ability to do something successfully or efficiently. That's what was lacking in a couple of my professors. But let's take this one step further; what about leaders? I would dare say, there are numerous leaders who have a title or a role given to them, but lack the competency to perform successfully in their role. In a recent study, many world leaders gave what they thought were important leadership competencies. Here are five of them outlined in this episode of The Kingsley Grant Show. | KGS102 | 3 Reasons Smart Leaders Make Mental Healthcare A Priority Within The Workplace by Kingsley Grant | 23 Jul 2019 | 00:29:35
+++ I'M NOT CRAZY +++ Growing up in the Caribbean, namely Jamaica, it was taboo to discuss mental health issues. You dared not mention that you could be suffering from such issues as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideations, etc. To do so, would mean that you need to go to the psych ward because you are "crazy." Only "crazy" people have those issues. That was the prevailing thought at that time. Granted, I'm sure things have changed since then, but that is what I remembered. So you suffer in silence. According to the World Health Organization, one in four adults experiences mental illness each year and an estimated 18% of the US adult population has an anxiety disorder. Wow! Hence when smart leaders aka Emotelligent leaders, make mental healthcare a priority within the workplace, they experience these 3 results.

| KGS101 | 3 DOs and DON'Ts To The Motivation Of People Within The Workplace by Kingsley Grant | 22 Jul 2019 | 00:29:04 | |
+++ BECAUSE YOU WANT TO +++ How many people, probably including you and I, do things simply because we wanted to? And how many times we don't do things, simply because ... we don't want to. Am I correct in including you in this? I thought so! We all are guilty of this at one point or another. The question is, what does it take to motivate and demotivate us? What if I told you that what someone who is meaningful to us say to us or don't say, serves to do one of the two? In this episode, you'll hear me share from an article written by Ron Carucci in a Harvard Business Review article that I read. Don't:

+++ CURIOSITY DIDN'T KILL THIS CAT +++ Adult: "Don't you know that curiosity kills the cat?" Me: [silence] I grew up in Jamaica and this is one of the phrases I heard quite often. It was made by people, namely adults, who didn't want to be asked any questions that made them uneasy. That's my conclusion based upon looking back at the many times I've heard it. Does this sound familiar? Did you experience this? Would you believe that having heard this statement so many times, it almost "killed" me? It almost "killed" me because I stopped being curious. I'm glad I found out early enough change course. How about you? Maybe you didn't react or overreact at all. Maybe you do not operate with a knee-jerk reaction like so many people do. Aren’t they the same? I eventually found out that they were not. Did you find that out as well? | KGS93 | Which Of These 7 Essential Traits Of Successful Leadership Are You Lacking by Kingsley Grant | 09 Jul 2019 | 00:33:18
+++ HANDS UP +++ In general I do not like to admit to my weaknesses. I know what they are and I know the feelings generated whenever my weaknesses are exposed. One thing I can tell you, it doesn't feel good. Because I know what they are and how I feel when they are exposed, I try my best to work on overcoming, strengthening, or compensating for them to save face. The last thing I want to do is raise my hands, acknowledging that I'm lacking in an area I think I should not be lacking in. How silly is that. When I went back to college to get my masters degree, wasn't that an acknowledgment that I was lacking in an area and needed to strengthen it with more education? Think about it. So it is in leadership. There might be some things you are lacking that would make you a more effective leader. What could they be? Take a listen to this episode of The Kingsley Grant Show. +++ ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER +++ Have you ever heard this phrase, thought about it, or said it: "Walk the talk?" I have experienced all three. Recently I spoke to one of my sisters and she reminded me of a phrase our mom would say to us from time to time. The phrase may not be as impactful in its written form as it is when spoken. But here is what she would say: "Mouth turn crossway to say anything." As I mentioned, hearing it in the Jamaican dialect--patois, pronounced "patwah"--is more impactful. It simply means that people will say anything but not do as they say. Do you know anyone like this? +++ NIKE BLEW IT +++ This is a strong statement. What did they blow? It all depends on whom you ask. There are people on both sides of the aisle who passionately argue for or against Nike's decision to pull their Betsy Ross Flag Shoe from the market. Should they have done it or should they not have? | KGS88 | Top 10 Personal Development Ideas To Retain Your Best Talents by Kingsley Grant | 02 Jul 2019 | 00:28:20
+++ FROM THE HORSE'S MOUTH +++ Have you ever heard this phrase before? What does that mean anyway? The little I've found in a quick Google search, suggests it originated within the horse-racing context. People would bet on a horse they were so sure of winning, they'd attach the phrase, "it came from the horse's mouth." One thing I do know is that the phrase does carry the idea, that it's first-hand information. As leaders, we need to listen to those we lead as to how to best lead them. Remember, they are half of the equation. You are one half and they are the other. Making a solo decision as to what they'd like, have not had good results. So, what can you do differently? That is what you'll discover in this episode where you're going to hear exactly what your top talents say is keeping them from leaving. | KGS214 | Struggling With Porn But It Has No Effect On My Leadership Or Does It by Kingsley Grant | 06 Nov 2020 | 00:38:10
+++ SOMEONE SOMEWHERE +++ Every one of us struggles with one thing or another. There are some people who are not able to relate to your struggle. But if you look long and hard, you'll find someone who does. None of us are exempt from struggles. With that in mind, we can safely say, we are not the only one that has a certain struggle even though we may feel that way at times. As a coach and licensed therapist, I get to hear people's struggles constantly. One of the struggles that are presented mostly by men, even though some women struggle as well, is that of pornography. Porn is a multi-billion dollar industry and there are multiple thousands of people, mainly men, who are addicted to it. But what about a leader? Does this addiction to pornography have any effect on how they lead others? In this episode, you'll hear whether or not leaders who struggle with pornography are negatively affected in their work and if so, what to do about it. | KGS87 | Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: 5 Undeniable Leadership Skills Of Donald Trump Historic Meeting With Kim Jong-un by Kingsley Grant | 01 Jul 2019 | 00:34:10
+++ THE GOOSE AND THE GANDER +++ Sometimes in life we have to decide whether or not we are going to allow our prejudices, biases, political or religious bent, etc keep us from being intellectually honest. What amazes me is how some people will use one set of rules for one person but make an exception, for another. It's like giving one a pass and not the other. This behavior to me is intellectually dishonest. What's good for the goose must also be good for the gander. This is a saying I grew up hearing, which made sense to me, the older I became. You may not agree with me, but before you make that judgment, take a listen to this episode. | KGS86 | Are You Making Any Of These 10 Emotional Intelligent Mistakes Some Leaders Do by Kingsley Grant | 28 Jun 2019 | 00:32:32
+++ MISS TAKES +++ Take one. Take Two. Take Three. We all make them - miss takes. It's something we attempted to do and failed at. Or DID we fail at it? What if we saw our attempts as Thomas Edison did: "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." But ... ... there are some emotional intelligent mistakes some leaders make, which doesn't fall into the attempted category. They fall more in the self-awareness zone. That is what is discussed in this episode. | KGS85 | What Elon Musk Said To His Leaders At Tesla That Also Applies To You by Kingsley Grant | 27 Jun 2019 | 00:28:52
+++ ECCENTRIC ANYONE? +++ People who stand out in our world and are making a difference, tend to have an eccentric personality. This means they are at times tagged with labels such as strange, weird, bizarre, and more. Do you know anyone like this? Have you ever tagged anyone with one or more of these labels? The late Steve Jobs was given the label of eccentric. Imagine. But look at the results. This is also true of Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and of other businesses he has started. But again, look at the results. When I look at these people through the results lens, I am apt to listen to what they have to say. I may not agree with everything but I want to hear. In this episode, you'll hear what Elon Musk had to say to his leaders which applies to you and me.
