- How was the cross understood by the early Christians?

- (14:00) Nick - I had an incident in 2016, where I was bleeding profusely and had to get into emergency surgery. Thought I was going to die. Prayed about it and got the inspiration to embrace my cross. We all have these incidents in our life and need to recognize the Lord in them.

- (25:35) Dean - In my conversion, it was great to be able to go before a Catholic crucifix because Christ was there. The Passion of the Christ movie...the cross. Christ is there to help us carry the cross. His and ours.

I have found this astonishing and something to hold up in this society that sees people as disposable.

Father Bobby Blood joins Patrick to discuss Prayer Routine
- (5:50) how can people start a prayer routine?
- (13:35) John - Used to get up early in the morning and not remember what I prayed. Now I get up move around and get into one of the readings of the Mass. Always start with gratitude for the day.
- Mary Lou - My prayer routine, over the years it has grown and matured. Pray the Rosary and do other things during my prayer and contemplative prayer. It has matured to where I feel more comfortable in contemplative, quiet prayer rather than vocal prayer.

- (33:31) Mary - My routine is to pray slower, meditate on everything I'm saying.

- (43:00) Bridget - I have a prayer habit every day. I pray my rosary on porch. Going to have surgery for lung cancer. Everyone tells me to have faith, but you still worry. How do you combat that?
- Teresa - I always thank God for breath and life every morning. When I say the Memorare, I say 'holy family.' It gives me comfort throughout the day.

Caller Story – His dad died when he was 23. He was a model figure and his love and support led me to the Catholic Church
Caller Story – I grew up without a father but as I got older and more into my faith, I developed a relationship with the Holy Trinity.
Caller Story – My father was pretty much absent. As I grew closer to my faith, I consecrated myself to St. Joseph and asked him to be my spiritual father.

Praying the Rosary – What is the Rosary? Where does it come from and why do we pray it? Father Ed Broom joins the Inner Life to discuss the power of the Holy Rosary in our daily prayer life.
Caller – I was a monk in Syria for 8 years and was kidnapped by Muslim soldiers. I was praying the rosary. I was inspired to sing and they let me go.
Caller – I’m blind and on dialysis; I was off and on w/my faith. The Rosary helped me, it’s just been guiding light for me. It has helped me through the pandemic.
Caller – I grew up with the Rosary with it and it became part of me. We used to pray the rosary with other people in the neighborhood.

Miracles – What is a miracle? How do miracles happen? Do we have to pray for them? Father Marcel Taillon joins the Inner Life to discuss the reality of miracles in the life of the Church.
Caller Story – Her Uncle was healed after she called in to pray for him during the Chaplet of Divine Mercy on Relevant radio. She experienced inner healing as well.
Caller Story – His son was healed from an inoperable brain tumor. Now he prays for a second miracle, that his son will come back to Church.
Caller Story – She had been away from Church during my teenage years and was depressed. After returning, one morning I woke up and felt the physical healing.
Caller Story – When I called into the Inner life, I shared my struggles. I was filled with hope and love for Christ.

Caller – She can relate with Father Kroll about having patience in traffic. Her story about patience when my son was small. The tone in her voice made him react differently.
Caller – She had to practice patience with her husband who had Alzheimer’s disease. It helped her grow closer to God through her prayer.
