Without a doubt, GLP-1 medications have revolutionized the weight loss discussion in the U.S. and throughout the world since many first heard about them in 2022.
On The Holistic GLP-1 Podcast, Elizabeth McGann explores the latest breakthroughs and concerns about applying GLP-1 weight loss technology with a holistic approach that balances the critical dimensions of body, mind & Soul.
The podcast explores essential topics, including how a medication originally developed for the treatment of diabetes has rapidly turned into arguably the most profoundly impactful weight loss medication in history; how microdosing GLP-1 medications under a doctor’s care may be a more effective weight loss strategy than the pharmaceutically recommended dose; the specific needs of perimenopause and menopause age women; and endogenous ways to stimulate the GLP-1 hormone naturally in the body without medication.
Among the top 5% of podcasts listened to internationally, The Holistic GLP-1 Podcast consistently ranks as the #1 show on Apple Podcasts and Spotify on the topic of GLP-1 weight loss medications worldwide.

Today’s episode is the last we are running in 2024, and the last using the title “Drop the Weight.” Beginning with the first episode of 2025, this podcast will officially begin using the name The Holistic GLP-1 Podcast, to reflect the direction Elizabeth is going in her professional work with clients offerings to the public. More on that shortly!
We couldn’t be ending this year more brightly than with today’s guest, the lovely Jillian Acosta, whose work includes using psychedelics as a tool to overcome food traumas of various kinds that people throughout the world suffer from.
Psychedelics have been on the world’s radar ever since Michael Pollan’ s groundbreaking work How to Change Your Mind was published some years back. And when we recently heard about Jilllian’s focus on psychedelics in her work with weight-release clients, we knew we had to bring her onto the show.
Throughout the podcast, Jillian relates the story of the sexual abuse she experienced as a young child, the severe eating disorders she suffered for many years afterward, and how Ayahuasca provided the psychedelic key to busting through those issues to become the radiant, holistic and inspiring woman leader she is today.
#41 - Overcoming Generational Trauma (with Karena Virginia)
dimanche 1 décembre 2024 • Durée 01:05:00
In this episode of Drop the Weight, we are joined by Kundalini Yoga expert Karena Virginia to discuss her latest work in the fields of ancestral healing, epigenetics and overcoming generational trauma.
The author of the critically influential book Essential Kundalini Yoga and an early forerunner of the Me Too movement, Karena is a highly sought after leader in yogic philosophy as it applies to daily life and a voice of feminine courage confronting sexual abuse.
In this podcast, Karena explains how unaddressed generational trauma is often the root cause of afflictions people suffer from, showing up in many identifiable forms: including obesity issues, addiction disorders of various kinds, depression and the widely experienced feeling of being unable to function in modern society.
Karena also shares the story of how she chose to publicly speak out about being sexually groped by Donald Trump (after a decade of silence) in 2016; and how she later struggled with being a leader in the Kundalini yoga space after its founder Yogi Bhajan was outed for sexual abuse in 2019.
A mixture of both light and dark, this podcast is a must listen for anyone needing a metaphysical uplift in challenging times!

#27 - A Deep Dive into Body Neutrality (with Jessi Kneeland)
dimanche 1 octobre 2023 • Durée 55:59
In this episode, we explore the endlessly interesting and controversial topics of body image, body positivity and so-called “body neutrality.”
Body Neutral is an elusive and important concept that happens to be the title of a book just published in June 2023 by author Jessi Kneeland, who joins us in our Zoom podcast studio today.
With Jessi’s help, we unpack the systematic, step-by-step blueprint she offers in her book for overcoming the weight of body image issues in one’s life.
No stranger to identity cultural politics, Jessi-–who identifies as both non-binary and queer-–tackles head-on the trap of believing that the appearance of one’s body determines one’s worth in society.
Elizabeth first interviewed Jessi while doing a YouTube series called way back in 2015. The title of that episode fittingly was “How to Love Your Body.” You can watch it here at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ALBbEE2EaU
It’s so exciting to congratulate Jessi in the time warp of 8 years later, to review the substance of her brand new book and discuss how her ideas have evolved since that original conversation.
