5 Longevity Foods You Need To Eat Every Day To Live Longer | Dr. Michael Greger27 oct. 202600:08:05

The best longevity foods might be the ones you keep walking past at the grocery store.

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1583DM

Dr. Michael Greger, a physician who tracks the research on diet and life expectancy, told Lewis that beans and lentils are tied to the biggest lifespan gains in the Global Burden of Disease Study. His reason is your gut: the good bacteria live on fiber, and most of us are starving them.

Ounce for ounce, walnuts pull ahead of every other nut. Michael says a palmful, about 10 halves a day, is enough, because the benefit levels off after that.

He calls refined grains terrible for us, and he wants you adding real food until it crowds out the junk, which makes up over half of American calories.

Grab a can of lentils for tonight and keep a handful of walnuts on the counter for tomorrow.

How A Sociopath Builds A Moral Code Without Guilt | Dr. Patric Gagne26 oct. 202600:06:15

What if guilt was never the thing keeping you good?

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1995DM

Dr. Patric Gagne, a diagnosed sociopath, told Lewis she lives without shame or guilt. What keeps her in line is an internal code built on logic, and the amount of harm she chooses to do is zero.

She once stole from a cruel woman and handed the item to a stranger on the street. It felt so good that she saw the slippery slope right away.

Patric traces that urge to a deep sense of unfairness, one that started in kindergarten when she learned Santa was a lie. She argues that if guilt is the only thing stopping you, you have no real control.

You will start asking why you actually do the right thing, and whether your reasons would still hold if the guilt went quiet.

How To Train Your Brain and Learn Faster Starting Today | Jim Kwik25 oct. 202600:11:22

The story that you are a slow learner might be the only thing holding your brain back.

Check out the full episode: https://lewishowes.com/podcast/jim-kwik/

Jim Kwik, who has spent two decades teaching people how to learn and remember, told Lewis about the head injury that left him feeling broken as a kid. It took him two extra years to learn to read, and by college he was ready to quit.

Then he pushed so hard he passed out in the library and woke up in the hospital two days later, down to 117 pounds.

A nurse handed him tea in an Einstein mug: the same level of thinking that created the problem won’t solve the problem. Jim stopped asking why he was slow and started asking how to learn faster. Within 60 days, it felt like a light switch went on.

Ask yourself which story about your own mind you have been calling a fact.

If Fear Keeps You Safe But Stuck, Open Your Sail | Scott Barry Kaufman24 oct. 202600:07:23

You don't have to wait until your fear is gone to start moving toward the life you want.

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1116DM

Scott Barry Kaufman, the psychologist behind the sailboat model of human needs, told Lewis that Maslow never drew a pyramid at all. Scott sees your needs as one vessel: the boat keeps you afloat, and the sail is what moves you.

When you're short on safety, you start screaming for it, and that gap quickly drains your connection and self-esteem too. Scott calls it the insecurity cycle.

Patching the holes only gets you from negative 50 to zero. Growth starts when you open the sail, even nervous, the way Scott was driving six miles in a suit for the first time in a year.

Pick one place where you've been waiting to feel safe, and choose exploration there anyway.

Turn Your Anxiety Into a Signal That Finally Sets You Free | Dr. John Delony23 oct. 202600:06:03

Your anxiety might be the one part of you that is working perfectly.

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1994DM

Dr. John Delony, a mental health expert, told Lewis that anxiety is a smoke alarm in your house. It can't tell you which room is burning. It just knows there is smoke.

If you carry six figures in student loans and a mortgage, your body would be failing you if it let you sleep all night. Waking at 2:30 in the morning means it is doing its job.

Numbing it with another drink or another Netflix night is, in John's words, duct-taping a pillow over the alarm. Sometimes the real fix is sitting down with your spouse and saying, “We have to rebuild this thing or it's over.”

The next time the alarm wakes you, put down the fight and ask what in your life feels unsafe.

How To Destroy Scarcity With Gratitude in 10 Minutes a Day | Tony Robbins22 oct. 202600:07:32

The richest person you know might have almost nothing, as long as they wake up full of gratitude for it.

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1218DM

Tony Robbins, the life and business strategist, told Lewis that billionaire investor Sir John Templeton once gave him the secret to wealth in one word: gratitude. A billion dollars lived pissed off and frustrated is still a pissed off, frustrated life.

Tony was broke and working 18 hour days when he pulled over on a California freeway near midnight. He wrote in his journal, “the secret to living is giving.” Then he cried.

He saw he had only been asking what he wasn't getting. Scarcity left him that night, and the boy whose family had no Thanksgiving meal has since fed 42 million people.

Try his morning habit tomorrow: three and a half minutes naming what you are grateful for, starting with something as small as the wind on your face.

If Your Purpose Isn’t Truly Yours, Achieving It Will Feel Empty | Shi Heng Yi21 oct. 202600:07:04

What if the purpose you are chasing was never yours to begin with?

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1993DM

Shi Heng Yi, a Shaolin master, told Lewis that it can go very wrong to spend your lifetime building a vision that came from someone else.

He named the worst case plainly: you follow it, you achieve it, and then you realize it doesn't give you what you were looking for. What he offers instead is gentle. Learn how to deal with failure, and learn to accept the way you are instead of trying to stay beautiful.

He isn't judging anyone's goals. He asks you to check whose idea you are actually living.

Afterward, you may catch yourself asking which of your dreams really started with you.

How To Stop Blocking Money And Unlock Abundance With Play | Rhonda Byrne20 oct. 202600:10:27

The money you want might be waiting behind a belief about deserving it that you never chose.

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1526DM

Rhonda Byrne, creator of The Secret, told Lewis she once opened bills with her stomach dropping to her knees. She had mortgaged her own home to make the film, and the debt was piling up everywhere else too.

So she started to play. Rhonda pretended each bill was a check, then added zeros until $1,200 became $150,000. When she paid, she pictured the money as a donation that fed the families of the company’s employees.

Every item on her desires list showed up, down to the house overlooking the ocean. Her point is that we are unlimited, and we shrink ourselves to fit what we think we deserve.

Try her game on your next bill and read it as a check before you pay it.

How To Turn Off Your Stress Response Before It Burns You Out | Dr. Tara Narula19 oct. 202600:06:19

Your stress response was built to save your life, and you might be leaving it switched on all day.

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1992DM

Dr. Tara Narula, a cardiologist, told Lewis that stress may be the biggest health threat we face, even on its own.

Tara pictures people walking around with the dial stuck at 10 over a bad phone call or a fight with a coworker. That system was made for escaping a predator, so the body keeps pushing back until it simply burns out.

Her medical training gave her zero lessons on emotions. She wants every diagnosis handed out with a prescription for how to walk through it.

You will start noticing the small moments that crank your dial up, and you will want to learn how to turn it back down.

Alex Honnold recounts that though he has witnessed tragic climbing accidents and the sobering fragility of life while pushing extremes, staying open to loss and grief is essential, as going numb leads people to underestimate risks and make poor choices. He notes while the emotional stakes differ, the fear of failure in competitive arenas can subjectively feel as intense as mortal danger depending on one's psyche and neuroses. Honnold believes managing fear and persevering through discomfort are skills climbing specifically hones, yielding some of life's most potent lessons in overcoming self-doubt and developing courage. Though he recognizes the gravity involved in his sport, Honnold feels embracing fear, responsibility and vulnerability allows him to mine the thrill and beauty without losing his humanity.

Lewis Howes, host of The School of Greatness and author of The Mask of Masculinity, talks straight to you in this solo episode. He remembers being so nervous before speaking to 20 people that he read his first speech word for word and never looked up once.

Years later he faced a much bigger fear: telling his podcast audience about the sexual abuse he lived through as a kid. He was sure he would lose his friends and his business. Instead, hundreds of listeners wrote in to say they were finally starting to heal.

One line from Lewis sticks: “Courage is not a personality trait. It's a daily decision.”

Marriage Advice From A Divorce Lawyer: Build A Love That Lasts | James Sexton16 oct. 202600:07:31

The best marriage advice might come from the people who stayed married, and from the ones who didn't.

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1991DM

James Sexton, a divorce lawyer, told Lewis that everyone should spend an hour with someone like him before the wedding. As he puts it, in marriage, there's no way to know if you're doing well at it.

Is a fight every week a lot? Nobody can say, because we post the best vacation photos and keep our real daily lives to ourselves.

James borrows a line from his sister, a dentist: by the time your tooth hurts, it's too late. So talk candidly with couples who would still pick each other, and with people whose marriage broke down.

You will want to look hard at your own stuff and say it out loud to the person you love.

1 Secret Service Communication Tip To Get The Truth From Anyone | Brad Beeler14 oct. 202600:07:32

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1990DM

Brad Beeler spent 25 years in the Secret Service getting people to admit the worst things they've ever done. His top communication tip: be interested more than you try to be interesting.

A nervous suspect sits at 120 or 130 beats a minute, deep in fight or flight. Beeler wants that heart rate down before he asks anything hard.

So he bought one suspect Wendy's and a Frosty. Nervous people don't eat, and this man scarfed it down.

Beeler had combed the man's Facebook and found a pit bull in photo after photo. He asked about free time and let him beam about that dog for ten minutes.

Then the man disclosed something done to him as a kid, at about the same ages as his victims.

Beeler went back to the dog. Treated well it's amazing, but shock it and feed it only when it fights and you create a monster.

That gave the man an off-ramp to the truth without excusing a thing. He got 47 years in prison.

Charles Duhigg highlights research showing social connections, not prestige or wealth, most determine happiness and longevity, with double the close friends equating to 20 more years; he argues combating isolation begins with conversation skills, which historically were taught but now are overlooked, causing uncertainty. Duhigg defines "supercommunicators" as those who make us feel heard and valued, a learnable skill not innate charisma, just as babies babble to master language; by demystifying emotional intelligence as a set of competencies like reading, we can reshape our culture to raise kids purposefully developing this "emotional vocabulary". Though digital life enables detachment unlike ever before, we know integration with people truly enriches existence; prioritizing these tools could help reverse trends of loneliness and depression strangling society.

Grief can stay dry-eyed when a mother dies and then pour out over a dog.

Terry Bradshaw, a professional football player, told Lewis he didn't shed a tear when his mother died. Then his dog James died, and he sobbed uncontrollably in the car with the little casket in the back seat.

It still bothers him. He built his mother a house and still got guilt for traveling too much, so he swallowed the resentment for years and never said a word.

Then he worked it out. “That dog was so sweet to me,” Terry says, and he realized that love and kindness are what break him open.

If you're a people pleaser carrying guilt you never earned, take a look at who gives you kindness. And go easier on yourself about the tears that did or didn't come.

Andy Puddicombe spent years as a monk, certain he'd given up the dream of ever having a child.

Then he landed in America and found out overnight he had testicular cancer. Advanced, aggressive, surgery in four days.

The doctor told him if he wanted kids, he had three or four days to get to the sperm bank.

Next came the scans. Had it spread? Had it reached his brain?

What saved Puddicombe was being okay with not knowing. Sitting in that doctor's chair, he was alive and in no pain. “Everything else is an idea.”

His image for it: stay present on the side of the road instead of hopping in the cancer car and driving miles down the what ifs.

Two months after the operation, his wife got pregnant.

Their son is 18 months old now. Exhausting, he says, and the thing he's most grateful for.

David Bach heard a CNBC guest say renting in Brooklyn and investing the difference beats owning. He thinks that math is wrong.

Put $20,000 down on a $100,000 home. It grows 10% and you just made $10,000 on $20,000. That's a 50% return.

Then the tax piece. Sell your own home after two years and the first $250,000 of profit is tax free. Married, it's $500,000.

Bach has done it with a San Francisco home and two in New York.

His first place was a complete dump he bought with his best friend. Every dollar went in, with under six months of expenses saved on a commission only job.

He called his dad, scared he couldn't make the mortgage. His dad said, “Well, son, nothing will motivate you like that.”

His plan is three homes over a lifetime. Rent out two, pay off the third.

Can't afford it? Buy anyway and rent rooms to your friends.

“Been busy?” is the worst question you can ask anyone. Vanessa Van Edwards says it sends the other person's brain hunting for negativity.

They either list how exhausted they are or admit nothing is going on. No win.

“What do you do?” comes second. Everyone has answered it so many times the brain stays on autopilot.

Her fix when someone asks you: start with a clear label and who you do it for. Then share your why and toss it back.

Or just be funny. “How are you?” “Seven out of 10.”

Van Edwards calls herself a recovering awkward person. For years she walked into conversations trying to razzle dazzle.

What changed everything: being easy to talk to beats being impressive.

She splits people into entertainers and appreciators. Two appreciators together stall out, so learn to flex into the other role.

Jo Koy used to stand in the shower and pretend he was winning the Apollo. Full self-introduction, no jokes written. Just the intro.

His first real set: 18 years old, lied and said he was 21, drew a mustache on with his mom's eyeliner, wore a borrowed suit into a bar on Eastern and Tropicana.

He did nothing but sex jokes. Dead room. Then cottonmouth hit and he kept going anyway.

A woman at the back yelled “put a condom on it.” She got the standing ovation. He got to wipe the mustache off in the parking lot.

The Lionel Richie impersonator who crushed right before him found him after and said, “I don't know what you got, but you got something on stage.”

Koy went home, walked past his mom without a word, laid in bed and remembered a comic saying he bombed 18 times before his first laugh. His thought: okay, I got 17 more.

He won the Apollo for real. The shower bit came true.

His dad's line, the one he still lives by: don't ever say what if. Just do it.

How To Forgive And Take Your Power Back From Anyone | Chris Lee03 oct. 202600:07:38

Leave an Amazon Rating or Review for my New York Times Bestselling book, Make Money Easy!

Check out the full episode: https://lewishowes.com/podcast/r-set-boundaries-build-thriving-relationships/

Chris Lee said something about forgiveness that I keep replaying.

Lee's example: if someone was sexually abused and refuses to forgive the abuser, "they keep abusing me."

Forgiving never meant calling it okay. It was a conscious decision to take power back, because anger hands someone your energy, and energy is power.

Lewis compared it to a remote control. React to someone and you let them push your buttons.

Boundaries came next. Friends calling at all hours of the night, crashing into sleep, is a respect problem.

Chris and Lewis say their friendship works because either one can say “that doesn't work for me” and the other just adjusts.

Lewis spent his whole childhood afraid to be alone, gripping relationships too tightly. So he took himself to dinner alone, then to movies alone, until he actually liked his own company.

Lee's explanation for why solitude feels so hard: 90% of the chatter in your head is negative. Notice it, then swap in a better thought.

Turn Your Rut Into Unshakable Focus And Power | Jonathan Fields02 oct. 202600:06:10

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1985DM

Jonathan Fields told Lewis Howes that when everything finally lines up, career, relationships, the whole thing, that's exactly when the old patterns come back to burn it down.

His answer wasn't more willpower. It was scaffolding. Inner practices plus an environment engineered so the right action happens by default, before you've spent a single unit of cognitive bandwidth deciding.

Fields has done a breathing and meditation practice every single morning for over a decade. Not for bliss. So that when the day goes sideways he responds instead of reacts.

On being stuck, he reaches for Byron Katie's The Work. Four questions. Is it true? Can you absolutely know that it's true? Where's the evidence for it? Where's the evidence against it?

The stuckness is almost never about the thing you think it's about. Find the bigger thing underneath and the rest loosens on its own.

Dr. Ellen Langer's decades of research shows our mindsets directly impact physiology, evidenced by her landmark study where elderly men regained youthful strength and cognition simply by living one week as their younger selves. She posits we must challenge the harmful tendency to cling to absolutes since external realities are constantly changing, so mindful awareness of novelty is key to wellbeing. Dr. Langer stresses that psychology, not just biology, will be the future of medicine as data continues to demonstrate that presuppositions shape our bodies, but most still fail to recognize mind-body unity. By revealing the fallacy of certainty, she hopes to revolutionize how we perceive and thus experience aging, illness and the inevitability of change.

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1984DM

Lewis Howes says you will never become the thing you speak badly about. Your nervous system won't let you turn into the person you just insulted.

Lewis admits he used to get jealous and insecure when someone got ahead of him. Swirling in comparison and not enough-ness. That energy went nowhere.

The shift: someone ahead of you shows up and the first thing out of you is a question. How did they do that? Who did they have to become?

Then go further and clap. Congratulate them out loud. You're celebrating the thing you want to achieve later.

He saw a stranger online do a big launch. Doesn't follow them, never met them. Sent a DM saying he was happy for their success, keep going. They wrote back thrilled.

Money goes where it's respected. You can't respect something while trashing everyone who has it.

If a stranger's win still stings, that's the season you haven't left yet.

How Self-Awareness Leads to Success | Pastor Michael Todd29 sept. 202600:08:13

Pastor Michael Todd stresses that counseling helps release and heal trauma, yet too many avoid it; just verbally airing feelings to a safe person starts positive change. He finds successful leaders lose self-awareness as they rise, so must proactively self-evaluate despite external praise. Todd believes rest is a powerful weapon - facing fear of losing progress, leaders should set enough goals then purposefully rest to tap the best ideas. He notes that without purpose, achievements never satisfy; do things for meaning versus acclaim to find true fulfillment.

How To Escape The Grind And Build A Life You Love | Codie Sanchez28 sept. 202600:06:46

Codie Sanchez spent 16 years grinding to keep up with people she says she doesn't even like.

Her line that stopped me: most of the people giving you business advice online were miserable long before success, and still kind of miserable after it. So why take their map?

Sanchez points at Jeff Bezos puttering in the morning. Tim Cook working out for his first hour, back when he was an employee. Work fit into a life, not the reverse.

The number that stings: most entrepreneurs pull $46k to $64k a year. Minimum wage in California is $78k.

Why? Almost nobody optimizes for profit. Revenue is the applause, and owners pay themselves last.

Walmart's margin is about 6%. Average business, 15%. Your million dollar company pays you $150k.

Dean Graziosi told her he's had a plane longer than his hyper growth friends, because cash flowed to him first, then to the business.

Five years trying to get pregnant finally made her ask why she was running the race at all.

How To Build Real Confidence Before You Feel Ready | Leila Hormozi26 sept. 202600:07:10

Leila Hormozi didn't believe she could make money. Not doubted. Flatly did not believe it.

Then at 21 she closed a $1,300 personal training package. Words out of her mouth, money in her hand. She thought: I never have to worry again.

That belief had to be re-earned at every level. $1,300, then $20,000, then $50,000. Each time she assumed she couldn't until she had.

Her rule, borrowed from Steven Hayes: act the opposite first. Don't wait to feel like the thing. Behave like it and work your way in.

Hormozi says confidence never comes before competence. Experience builds the skill, the skill builds the belief.

She bought a company two years back. Close to $10 million, lit on fire. She holds the majority, so walking away isn't an option.

Same decision-making formula bought another company that's crushing it. Bad outcome, good process. She keeps the process.

Her math: lose $10 million to make $100 million. Fixating on not losing is the thing that keeps you small.

How To Build Real Connection And Destroy The Likes Habit | Cal Newport25 sept. 202600:07:21

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1982DM

Cal Newport tracked down the development lead for the first iPhone. Nothing about the tech ever required you to look at it constantly.

Steve Jobs was a minimalist. A beautiful object you pulled out to play a song, call your mom, find an address.

Then the Facebook IPO hit and the apps needed revenue. They re-engineered everything around likes, retweets, photo auto tags.

Newport's word for it: social approval indicators. Now you check in line, in the bathroom, walking the dog.

Lewis Howes names the trap. The more likes you collect, the less worthy you feel, so you post again to prove you're enough.

Your social brain has no idea what to do with a number next to a thumbs up icon. It knows faces, time, someone who bothered to show up.

Friend has a baby? Congrats with three exclamation points costs you nothing, which is exactly the problem.

Drive over with snacks and towels. That hour is what connection is made of.

Dial notes that like money, self-love is an inside job - no achievement or bank account alone changes core feelings about yourself. How To Build Real Confidence With A Bridge Identity | Dr. Kim Foster23 sept. 202600:06:39

Dr. Kim Foster says you can decide to be a different person in a single moment. The part that takes time is convincing your own brain.

You look in the mirror and say “I'm very confident,” and your mind goes: “Interesting. Based on what?” That's why grandiose affirmations collapse.

Foster's fix is a bridge identity. Not “I'm a social butterfly,” but “I'm someone who can start a conversation even when I feel uncomfortable.” Believable, still a stretch.

Then you go gather proof. One awkward conversation a day, logged, noticed, counted as a promise kept.

The tell is what a bad day means to you. A runner who skips a rainy run just took a break. Someone without the identity says “see, that's never been me anyway.”

Same skipped run. Two completely different views of a relatively simple situation.

Shawn Stevenson explains that by focusing on adequate protein intake, we prompt more calorie burning because protein digestion utilizes the most energy. He advises against isolating macros, saying we evolved eating whole foods not calories; real ingredients build better tissues and gene expression. Stevenson notes calorie counts are rough estimates, not precise lab measurements, so quality matters more than quantity for metabolic health. Though calories can loosely guide appropriate intake, he stresses we should ultimately judge food as human fuel versus processed non-food.

How To Destroy The Fear Blocking Your Wealth In One Year | Lewis Howes21 sept. 202600:06:30

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1980DM

Lewis Howes was in his early 20s making a couple hundred bucks a week when he begged a guy earning multiple six figures to sit down with him at a Starbucks in Columbus, Ohio.

He asked for the secret to money. The guy asked him what he was most afraid of.

Public speaking. Lewis couldn't get through five people without stuttering and stumbling.

The guy told him that fear was the exact thing blocking his income, and handed him a challenge: one speech a week, every week, for a year.

He signed up at Toastmasters that same week. Two minutes or twenty, he showed up and spoke.

By the end of that year he was making $5,000 a speech. He hadn't made $5,000 in the six months before he started.

For years he was certain his problem was having no money. The problem was every belief about money he'd inherited.

Whatever fear you're routing around, that's the address.

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1575DM

The Glucose Goddess believes the key to balancing health with enjoying sugary treats is understanding how our physiology interacts with different foods, not extreme restriction, since deprivation inevitably fails. She advises maximizing pleasure while minimizing blood sugar crashes and inflammation by only having sweets after a full meal, never on an empty stomach, as spiking glucose then crashing causes addictive cravings. Knowing how to indulge smartly, like saving sweet breakfast pastries to enjoy later as dessert, provides sanity in our food environment without forcing people to fully cut out their favorite comforts. Ultimately, rediscovering simple, ancestral wisdom about how our bodies work allows for moderation and self-care rather than all-or-nothing, unhealthy relationships with food.

Turn Their Words Into Unshakable Confidence | Karamo Brown19 sept. 202600:06:07

Leave an Amazon Rating or Review for my New York Times Bestselling book, Make Money Easy!

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1672DM

Karamo Brown grew up in an immigrant house where no A was ever good enough and “what are you doing with your life” was background noise. He went numb to disapproval.

What got in were the words. He was 6'2 by ninth grade with a full beard by tenth, so nobody came at him directly, but he dissected every comment people made about him.

Brown calls them cringe moments. Decades later, in the shower, a memory surfaces of the room where someone made a joke about people like him and he laughed along instead of speaking up.

His granny: you got two ears and one mouth, you’re supposed to be doing one of those double time. It made him a listener who absorbed everything, the good and the corrosive.

Hip hop made him feel invincible. Once nothing could touch him, other people’s words stopped deciding what he was worth.

Asked to rate his self love out of ten, he says nine and a half. He withholds the ten on purpose. There's always room for growth.

How To Destroy The Fear That Divides People | Michael Beckwith18 sept. 202600:07:20

Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1979DM

Michael Beckwith says you've never met a racist baby. It's taught, every time, by people still living inside the idea of the other.

Beckwith's frame: the infinite doesn't repeat itself or do do-overs. Different skin, language, culture are variations on a theme. All of it's music.

Imagine staying exactly as you are, forever, no growth. He calls that hell.

Religion means return to the source. It's a boat meant to carry you to the transcendent. Once you arrive, you honor the boat instead of clinging to it.

Which is why there's no such thing as a Christian mystic or a Buddhist mystic. Cross over and the labels fall away.

The test he gives: a fundamentalist believes two plus two is four. He has to convert you because deep down he's scared he's wrong.

Someone who actually knows walks out of that argument. “Peace and blessings. You do your math, and I'll do mine.”

How To Let Go Of Anger And Heal The Wounds Beneath It | Kier Gaines16 sept. 202600:06:18

Kier Gaines grew up where anger was useful. It kept him from getting bullied. It was his sword and his shield.

Then it became his anchor. The same thing that protected him started blocking love, connection, every relationship he wanted.

It took seven or eight years to loosen. No single turning point. He compares it to glaucoma, vision narrowing so slowly you never notice until it's gone.

What actually shifted it: new city, new friends, young professionals around him, travel. He found out there was an identity under the anger.

Lewis shares how he hit every goal and made the money, and the anger was still sitting there with him. Accomplishment doesn't touch the wound underneath.

Therapy, workshops, retreats. He had to heal the story the anger was attached to before grace for himself was even possible.

Angela Duckworth said she wouldn't be where she is without her marriage. Not her grit. Not her network. Her marriage.

A Silicon Valley VC told her off the record: he screens founders for grit, sure, but he's really screening for a stable marriage.

First night meeting her husband, she dreamed she was walking down the aisle. Turned around, it was him. She wrote it in her journal before their second date.

Her husband was the one who pushed her to write about their marriage crisis, not the happy years. She calls it the most courageous thing he's ever done.

Two relentless overachievers built a marriage on “just outwork it.” Worked great until it didn't, and they'd never told anyone what broke.

One Lost Hour of Sleep Can Spike Heart Attacks | Matthew Walker12 sept. 202600:06:27

Sleep scientist Matthew Walker explains that six hours of sleep a night for years isn't neutral, it's compounding damage to your heart, your brain, your blood sugar.

One week at four to five hours of sleep and your blood sugar looks pre-diabetic. One week.

Daylight savings is basically a global experiment on 1.6 billion people. Lose one hour in spring, heart attacks jump 24% the next day.

Gain that same hour back in fall and heart attacks drop 21%. Bidirectional. Fast. Real.

Federal judges hand out harsher sentences the week after losing an hour of sleep. Their mood tanks and someone else pays for it.

We're the only species that voluntarily robs itself of sleep, so evolution never built us a safety net for it.

Shorter sleep, shorter life. Not a metaphor, an actual mortality predictor.

Turn Your Fixed Mindset Into Unstoppable Growth | Dr. Katy Milkman11 sept. 202600:06:26

An expert on behavior change admits it flat out: academic research still hasn't cracked identity, even though it drives everything.

“I'm only this smart, I'm only this capable”, that sentence alone is the ceiling most people never question.

Believing you CAN change is its own separate barrier. Not a mindset detail, a prerequisite.

Housekeepers were split into two groups. One group was told their job counts as CDC-recommended exercise. Same work, same hours.

A month later: that group had lost more weight and had better blood pressure. Nobody changed their job. They changed their belief.

The placebo effect isn't just sugar pills. It's a hotel vacuum being reframed as a workout.

Katy Milkman now volunteers to run down from her roof deck for forgotten ketchup, just to get the “extra exercise” from her townhouse stairs.

Growth mindset is basically an identity fight: are you someone who can grow, or someone who's just “this capable”?

The wildest part came from a children's book about Ben Franklin exposing a French con man named Mesmer, which is where the word “mesmerizing” comes from.

Change your story about who you are, and your choices, stairs instead of elevator, leaning in instead of standing back, start changing themselves.

Retirement at 65 is a myth Sharran Srivatsaa doesn't believe in anymore.

He says financial freedom starts the day your passive income beats your monthly expenses, and he's got a four-step system to get there. Step one isn't investing. It's making sure your paycheck actually covers your life.

From there he builds what he calls a "money factory," a system where every dollar that comes in gets automatically split and put to work instead of sitting in checking. His 14-year-old son already owns his first TIGA, a tiny income generating asset.

Then Sharran describes the moment his first $50 passive income check hit his account. He didn't do anything for it. That feeling, he says, is the whole point.
