Alreen Haeggquist has done something incredible with something incredibly awful. As a child, she endured years of physical and sexual abuse at the hands of her father. When she finally got out, Alreen harnessed her anger, put herself through law school, and now advocates for women being harassed or abused in the workplace at her women's rights firm, Haeggquist and Eck.
In this episode, Alreen takes us through her breakout from victim to influential advocate. She tells us about the powerful book she wrote about her journey, and how confronting her father made it easy to take on one of today's biggest bullies, Donald Trump.

Lifescaping: How to Dig Yourself Out of Entrepreneurial Trauma, with Monique Allen
Épisode 32
mercredi 10 avril 2024 • Durée 30:47
“One of the jokes I have in coaching is, the surefire way to kill passion is to build a business around it, or marry it”. Monique Allen will tell you that entrepreneurship is it’s own special kind of trauma, and it needs a special kind of business coaching.
Monique is a professional gardener who has spent almost four decades in the industry. Over that time, running her own landscaping business she began to see a crucial need amongst her fellow creatives and trade-based entrepreneurs: they had started a business because they loved their work, and then suddenly they became managers and stopped actually doing that work that they loved. So she developed a fascinating coaching method that focuses on the unique struggles of trade-based entrepreneurs.
“Nature is a system”, Monique tells us. “It's the living and non-living things in connection with each other, with the overlay of energy and human interaction. This isn't all that much different than how businesses are formed”. In this episode, Monique shares the story behind “Lifescaping”, her coaching method inspired by the elements of all healthy ecosystems. Lifescaping helps business owners push beyond their barriers and thrive as entrepreneurs.
About Monique Allen
Monique founded The Garden Continuum - a regenerative landscape design/build and fine gardening firm celebrating its 25th year in business. She is the creator of the Life-Scape Method for land development. As the Lifescape Coach, she's interpreted this simple method into a system to teach service-business entrepreneurs how to develop more satisfying ownership experiences.

Ep16: John Hagenow reCHARGED
Épisode 17
mercredi 27 janvier 2021 • Durée 32:33
John Hagenow left his dream of being a player with the Milwaukee Brewers in high school and instead focused on academics and corporate America. Using his great radio voice, John tells us his journey of leaving his steady, consistent job and venturing off to start his own business, during the recession of 2008. Great timing!
He shares the trip on an airplane that sparked his idea of starting his own business. He knew there was a better way to recruit and have relationships. All his life, humility and goal-orientation are keys to his success. His advice “Don’t just be - Be outrageous enough to pursue what you love”. Take a listen to John’s upbeat and advice filled episode to help you reCHARGE® Your Life.
With over 25 years of Human Resources and Talent Acquisition leadership experience across both industry-leading recruiting agencies and corporate environments (including GE and MillerCoors), the opportunity to build lasting relationships has always been the aspect of John Hagenow’s career that he’s enjoyed most.
A degreed HR professional (UW-Whitewater - Go Warhawks!), John quickly realized how much he enjoyed recruiting - the people, the process, and the impact that hiring talented individuals has. There’s nothing else he’d rather be doing …(unless the Milwaukee Brewers finally call and make him an offer to play professional baseball)!
John is a family-oriented individual (he two young boys and an incredible wife), who always find ways to both motivate and humor him. He’s an avid sports enthusiast who likely quotes 80’s and 90’s movies too much and is a big believer in work hard, play hard…and a good Wisconsin fish fry.
