Not only have they come careening out of the gate with a blistering new Street Sects recording, "Dry Drunk", but they are simultaneously dropping their first electro pop recording as alter ego Street Sex.

Book III - Chapter XXVIII : Luke Schmaltz of King Rat
vendredi 18 octobre 2024 • Durée 02:18:41
TRIGGER WARNING!!! This episode deals with child abuse/S.A. and S.N.A.P. (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests).
Luke Schmaltz and King Rat have been a staple of the Denver Punk Rock community for 30 years. He has been a staff writer for Modern Drunkard, a bar and club owner, and now... he is a novelist. "The Belcher (Overserved Underdog)" is a book about a survivor in a world that has disdain for such archetypes. It is a comic book storyline that serves as an allegory for Luke's own life story and continuing struggles. This is an episode that will stun you. Be warned.

Book II - Chapter VII : Jesse “Luscious” Townley of Blatz and The Scene Killers

Jesse Townley has been a fixture in my music rotation since 1990, via Blatz. His musical output has continued to satisfy my itch for fast, socially conscious Hardcore, be it in Blatz, The Pathogens, The Gr’ups, The Frisk, The Criminals, or his most recent band and album, The Scene Killers “Beat Beat Beat”.
This was a thrilling look at his past musical endeavors, his Philadelphian beginnings writing a Zine and living in a West Philly squat, to his time with Lookout Records and Alternative Tentacles, to his political career, radio, and beyond.

Book II-Chapter VI: Fred Pessaro- V.P. of Content at CREEM Magazine
samedi 12 novembre 2022 • Durée 01:42:45
This is a the definitive episode of the Fall season! Fred has a history in underground music that is as massive in scope as it is varied in station. Having been published in Vice, worked the Toyota/Scion Rock Fest, presented the absolutely incredible NOLA documentary for NOISEY... phew, lets backpedal. You see, Fred started out booking shows in NYC, bringing his favorite bands to town. he parlayed that into a career in journalism that led him to becoming Senior Editor of Brooklyn Vegan for 6 years.
He'd had a brief stint as Editor In Chief (as well as DJ/Host) for Invisible Oranges. On to Noisey, where he'd also served as Editor in Chief for almost 3 years. On and on to Editor At Large/Director of Marketing at Revolver. He had then struck out on his own, as the Owner and Operator of Jackpot Plus Artist Services... Deep breath... The long lost, terribly missed, and deeply regarded CREEM Magazine came calling, and Boy Howdy, who would say no?!
Intro music "Martyrs" by Heart Out. Theme music by Gown.

This episode is dedicate to the memory of Brian "Craiger" Craig.

Tonight, I am honored to give you the record release episode for Ben Douglas and Joseph Lekkas' Palm Ghosts.
Palm Ghosts inhabit a rarified space within the alternative music landscape. They are a musical entity creating rich tapestries of Post Punk, New Romantic, and electro pop, all under a singular, cohesive banner. This is beyond mere influence. They have mined a spirit and style that is unmatched today. We are most humbled to have the distinction of offering a record release episode for this magnificent album!

Book II, Chapter II : Adored - “Songs For Film” w/ Lennon
vendredi 14 octobre 2022 • Durée 01:18:36
There is just ‘something’ about a musical project driven, solely, by two brothers. The bond of blood is a unique vessel to contain a shared mindset, aesthetic, and mission. Lennon and Christian Nichols have selected 5 songs from an arsenal of 70, offering the very best of their collaboration. “Songs For Film” is an EP, but is massive in scope as a multimedia experience that pairs with a visual element that feels as close to a bygone era as their music does.
