Not many businesses get the chance to be the first of its kind, but as a woman-owned, solar-powered, small-town manufacturing facility, Steffensmeier Welding & Manufacturing (SWM) has been the first of many things.  


Jenny Steffensmeier is the woman behind the forward-thinking SWM, which was founded over 35 years ago by her late husband, Ben Steffensmeier. Since Ben's tragic passing, Jenny has taken over operations, continuing her husband's legacy of hard work and community service while leading the company to new heights.  In addition to growing their customer base, Jenny helped SWM become 100% solar powered in 2016. 


In fact, the company is expected to be the first fully solar-powered manufacturing and fabrication facility of its size in the state of Iowa.  Jenny will be joining the Art of Marketing Podcast this week to share insights on the environmental and business benefits of solar power, trends in manufacturing and how to evolve after 30-plus years in business.
