Self Care Club: The Midlife Edition - Welcome to the Next Chapter
Saison 6 · Épisode 1
lundi 7 septembre 2026 • Durée 34:07
Welcome back! And a big welcome to a brand new season and new chapter of this podcast. After seven years of exploring wellness and self-care, we’re evolving because, well, we’re evolving! In this intro episode, we talk about why self-care looks different in midlife and the real-life questions that come with this stage of life.
We’re talking perimenopause and menopause, hormones, sleep and insomnia, anxiety, confidence, changing bodies, relationships, friendship, empty nesting, career, purpose, sex, ageing and finding joy in midlife.
This isn’t about fixing yourself, looking younger or pretending midlife is always fabulous. It’s about honest conversations, expert advice and figuring out what actually matters to us now.
In this episode:
Why Self Care Club is becoming The Midlife Edition
What self-care means in your 40s and 50s
The biggest challenges and opportunities of midlife
Why we’re talking more openly about menopause, mental health, relationships and identity
What’s coming up on the podcast
We really want you all to get involved because you are going to shape this next chapter of the show so please send in your questions, stories and topic ideas to us: hello@theselfcareclub.co.uk or dm us on Instagram @selfcareclubpod. What are you struggling with in midlife? What guests would you love to hear from? What are you currently trying to figure out?
We're calling this The Midlife Edition because we believe this stage of life deserves its own conversation. Not because we're putting women in a box, but because there's so much to explore and so much we don't talk about enough.
Welcome to the new Self Care Club. Let’s talk about midlife honestly, openly and without pretending we have all the answers.

From The Archives - Assuming Good Intent
dimanche 30 août 2026 • Durée 56:10
We are taking a break over the summer so please enjoy this show from our archives.
This week Lauren and Nicole go about their week by assuming good intent. Meaning they always start from the idea that a person meant well or was doing their best, no matter what they say or do. Sounds very simple, but the ladies struggled. Expect a lot of honesty and some hard truths they would prefer not to have to admit. If you like what we do here and want to be part of the club, why not follow us on Instagram and TikTok. If you want to get in contact with us please send us an email: via hello@theselfcareclub.co.uk We love hearing from you.

From The Archives - Dreams
lundi 24 août 2026 • Durée 01:02:57
We are taking a break over the summer so please enjoy this episode from our archives.
Dreams seem to fascinate us; why we have them, what they are and where they come from. The majority of dream researchers today believe that dreams are messages from our unconscious mind and if we know how to interpret them, they can be powerful tools for personal growth. Research has shown that the more you remember and investigate your dreams, the better your creativity and problem-solving skills and can give you insight as well as be a source of guidance, healing, discovery, change and growth. So this week at the club we are going to teach you how to capture and remember your dreams. To help us with this week and we enlisted Theresa Cheung. Theresa is a Sunday Times bestselling author and one of 32 women listed in the 100 most spiritually influential living people of 2023. Theresa works closely with scientists researching consciousness and has contributed features about dream power to newspapers and magazines and is a frequent dream decoding guest and spiritual expert on ITV: This Morning. When we face situations in life that aren’t ideal, if we're not actively changing them, then we are essentially consenting to them. In today’s episode, we explore why this mindset can be a game-changer, and discuss how to apply it to your own life to move you out of situations or relationships where you feel stuck or stagnant and create real change.
In this episode we discuss:
The mental shifts involved in change
Why we have reluctance around change
The power of choice.
Why inaction is not a passive choice but an active selection

From The Archives - Your Summer Self
Saison 2 · Épisode 29
lundi 27 juillet 2026 • Durée 43:01
We are taking a break over the summer so please enjoy this episode from our archive.
It’s the last episode before we take a break for summer and we’re going out in a haze of sunshine, rebellion, and possibly crisps for dinner. Because summer has a sneaky way of waking up a part of us that goes into hibernation the rest of the year; the spontaneous one, the barefoot one, the one who remembers how to just be, instead of constantly doing. In this episode, we’re asking: What version of you emerges when the sun’s out and the pressure’s off? Is it your fun side? Your libido? Your ability to sit in a deckchair without feeling like you should be folding laundry? We’re talking summer selves, seasonal magic, and how to hang onto a little bit of that barefoot energy even when September rolls in.

From The Archives - How to Have An Imperfect Summer
Saison 2 · Épisode 26
lundi 20 juillet 2026 • Durée 36:26
We are taking a break over the summer so please enjoy this episode from our archives.
There is so much pressure to have the “perfect” summer - a great body, a great wardrobe, making every day of the school holidays ‘magical’ and having a wonderful Instagram worthy perfect holiday. Today Lauren & Nicole are saying NO THANKS to all of it! In this episode the ladies talk about the myth of perfection and what self care you can put in place to have the realistic summer that you actually want and deserve using their S.N.A.C.K method - because everyone wants snacks, but nobody wants stress.

Self Care Club Is Evolving: Midlife, Menopause & What’s Coming Next
lundi 13 juillet 2026 • Durée 13:47
Before the rumours start… no, Self Care Club isn’t ending! We’re just pressing pause for the summer.
After nearly seven years of making the podcast we love, we’ve been having some honest conversations about where the show is now, where we’ve changed, and where we want to go next.
Because the truth is we’re not the same women who started this podcast. The audience has changed, the wellness world has changed, and our conversations have changed too. Somewhere along the way, we found ourselves talking less about collagen and goat yoga, and much more about the things that actually shape our lives now.
Hormones, confidence, ageing, relationships, careers, teenagers, marriage, the mental load, identity, ambition, reinvention and what the second half of life really looks like.
And those are the conversations we’re most excited about.
So we’re taking a summer break to rest, rethink and create a refreshed version of Self Care Club. Same friendship, same honesty, same laughs, but with a much bigger focus on midlife and the brilliant, messy, confusing stage of life we’re all navigating.
Expect conversations about menopause, women’s health, confidence, friendship after 40, ageing, beauty, sex, identity, empty nests, ADHD in women, relationships, reinvention and everything else we’re all secretly wondering about.
Because midlife deserves its own space. Women in their 40s and 50s are often talked about, but not always talked to. We want this show to feel like sitting down with friends who are asking the same questions you are honest, funny, thoughtful, and still very much us. While we’re away, we won’t disappear. We’ll still be around, sharing things on social media, and we’ll be bringing you episodes from the very beginning of Self Care Club so you can relive the journey with us; or discover it if you’re new.
Thank you for listening, supporting us, and growing with us.
This isn’t goodbye. It’s the start of the next chapter and we genuinely think it’s going to be our best one yet !

This week on Self Care Club, we welcome Jo Hutton, yoga teacher, writer, trainer and creator of Yoga for Tired People, one of the world's leading health and wellbeing Substacks.
Despite spending years teaching wellbeing practices, Jo experienced severe burnout in 2022. In this powerful conversation, she shares what burnout really looked like behind the scenes, why knowing about self-care isn't the same as practising it, and what genuine recovery actually requires.
Together, we explore burnout recovery, nervous system regulation, chronic exhaustion, the difference between rest and recovery, and why so many people still feel tired even after taking time off.
