Experience Over Things
Épisode 132
lundi 16 décembre 2024 • Durée 11:53
On this last episode of 2024, we dive into the heart of RVing, camping, and exploring the breathtaking landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. This episode is a celebration of living life intentionally, embracing adventure, and creating memories that last a lifetime.
As parents, we reflect on the fleeting summers we have with our children and the importance of spending them meaningfully—building connections, teaching life lessons, and soaking in the magic of the great outdoors.
I’ll also share my personal perspective on travel and why it’s more than just sightseeing—immersing yourself in the world, gaining fresh perspectives, and growing through the experiences that shape us into more thoughtful, empathetic, and compassionate individuals.
In today’s fast-paced, screen-obsessed world, nature offers us a much-needed antidote. Discover the transformative benefits of stepping away from technology, grounding yourself in the outdoors, and connecting deeply with the world around us. This episode will inspire you to embrace the RV community and the RV life.

Unlocking the Mystery of Lot F at Stevens Pass
Épisode 32
lundi 11 juillet 2022 • Durée 16:45
The F lot at Stevens Pass ski area on Highway 2 in the Cascade Mountains is a mystery to me. We are a family of active skiers and snowboards who love to RV. The idea of ski-on-ski-out from our travel trailer is something that we want to try next season. Lot F is the only RV lot at Stevens Pass and it’s tricky to navigate getting into the lot and the process for securing an overnight pass is a bit elusive to me as well. In this episode we chat with Meg on Instagram at norm_betty_adventures who have been accessing this family friendly RV lot just about every weekend during the ski season in their vintage Airstream. Meg shares with us about the scene in Lot F and what’s involved in both getting into the lot and how to get a reservation.

Épisode 31
lundi 27 juin 2022 • Durée 27:54
When the United States unlocked consumer access to the satellites for GPS, a new outdoor recreational activity sprung up — Geocaching. Members of this community place caches at locations marked by GPS coordinates all over the world for other Geocachers to locate. In this episode, we interview Chris Ronan, Senior Public Relations Manager of the Seattle based company. Our family loves to Geocache and it’s an activity that we also like to do on our RV adventures. Learn more about this fun activity in this episode.

A Nomadic Chef: Eat Well on the Road
Épisode 29
lundi 30 mai 2022 • Durée 18:40
A. J. Forget is a chef, writer, photographer, traveler, and dilettante. He left a career as a wildland firefighter to pursue his lifelong passion of writing and his outlandish goal of a modern nomadic life. Currently, he is a carney and follows a circus around the United States. He lives in a converted school bus with his partner, a silversmith and dreamworker, and their eternally-sleepy dog, traveling the world in pursuit of natural beauty, grand adventure, and the tastiest food out there. He is an author of an upcoming cookbook, The Buslife Kitchen, and in this episode he sits down with us and discusses how we can eat well while on the road. In the Pit Stop, I share about a great state park in Northeast Washington State that my great grandmother used to travel to every summer all the way from Oxnard, Calif.

Cape Disappointment State Park: A nugget in the Northwest
Épisode 27
lundi 2 mai 2022 • Durée 20:17
Cape Disappointment State Park is nestled between the mouth of the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean in the southwest corner of Washington State. The name of this park is very deceiving, but I promise it does not disappoint. In this episode, I discuss the campground, the different sites, where I think some of the best sites are, and share about all the fun activities there are to do both in the park and in the surrounding area. In the Pitstop I had a conversation with a friend and we talked about generators. Specifically, we cover topics that you should consider if you are thinking about getting a generator.
