As we move deeper into mid-fall in the Northern Hemisphere, the light is changing. The days are shortening, the sun sits lower in the sky, and our bodies are adjusting — whether we’re aware of it or not. This episode explores that seasonal recalibration through a biological and seasonal lens.
We’ll look at how shifts in daylight influence the circadian rhythm, hormone timing, sleep patterns, energy levels, mood, and even our immune function. This isn’t about forcing ourselves to do more in the darker season — it’s about understanding how the body naturally slows, repairs, and reorients as we approach winter.
This is Scorpio season — a time of descent, composting, and quiet integration. Nature is pulling inward, and we are built to do the same. When we recognize this shift instead of resisting it, we can move through the season with greater steadiness, resilience, and self-trust.

Read Your Terrain, Not Your Symptoms: Stop Fighting, Start Flowing

I've been soaking up this magical Leo season, picking berries at local farms and making plant infusions that feel like exactly what my body needs. It got me thinking about flow versus force - and how we've all been conditioned to swim upstream against our bodies instead of working with their natural wisdom.
In this episode, I'm sharing what my garden taught me about healing, why I've made some bold boundary decisions in my practice, and how to move beyond the endless root cause hunting that keeps so many people stuck in health rabbit holes.
I dive into a powerful case study of a 49-year-old client whose previous functional medicine approach had her on hormone precursors to "fix" imbalanced labs, while completely missing the terrain story her body was telling. When we looked at her hair mineral analysis and microbiome testing together, we discovered inflammation markers 10x normal, gut bacteria producing 318x normal levels of toxic methane gas, and a nervous system stuck in chronic threat detection mode.
This is what happens when we treat symptoms instead of understanding terrain. Her minerals showed a body fighting systemic inflammation for months, while her gut revealed missing keystone species and an ecosystem completely out of balance. The internal pressure from this chaos showed up as sleepless nights, brain fog, vision issues, and that constant feeling of being overwhelmed by everything.
This episode is a call-in for what I like to call the "conscious rebuilders" - people ready to stop fighting their bodies and start flowing with their innate wisdom. If you're tired of the endless testing cycles, supplement protocols that feel like warfare, and practitioners who treat your body like a broken machine, this conversation is for you.

When we think of ‘hormones’ what are we usually concerned about -well I work with so many women and will hear them say
My hormones are a wreck
Or my hormones are driving me crazy
Rarely if ever will I hear the men directly say such things. However when men do talk about hormones usually it’s with an emphasis on boosting their T levels or keeping that T healthy so they can stay in that masculine charge.
BUT
Hormones go way beyond just our SEX hormones, which often are imbalanced or balanced,
because of other gland/hormones upstream if you will
And ALL of those hormones will be impacted by MINERALS

First off, stressors aren’t always BAD, BUT if you’re already carrying a ton of stress or your body has been depleted slowly over time due to stress then this may push you over the edge.

In my last episode I shared that I’d be coming back to expound on components of a hair mineral analysis, in this episode I get into some of the core readings and concepts of this test and work that I do -so you can see how it digs in a deeper way to help guide a path for your current health towards correction
A hair mineral analysis is a HOLISTIC test. It can reflect SO MUCH - such as your heredity, upbringing, lifestyle, diet, drinking water, attitudes, body chemistry, as well as health and dis-ease staes. It reveals an overall picture that is influenced by many factors - this is truly amazing as we simply cannot, nor should not try to separate ourselves up into dissected parts to ‘treat’ because we are all a unique WHOLE and beautifully complex human system. This is why I love this test paired with the mind body coaching work I do because it gives some concrete evidence to target that whole picture with greater clarity and nuance.

One of the things we all can do to create the biggest transformation in our well being is to honor our full self - mind body soul -which allopathic medicine does not do. Which is why I believe we don’t have a holistic health care system -we have what I call sick-care, minus the care.
Since every one of us deserves better we must come to terms with this so we can see/know and do better and let ourselves been seen and cared for fully. Integrating the whole human being is what will help us create more balance and eventually vitality of which many of us don’t even fully know what that can look or feel like.
