lundi 17 janvier 2022Durée 52:46

An unhealthy first marriage resulted in an unhealthy, overweight, stay-at-home mom of 3 boys for our guest Melinda for years. As a divorcee, she then became responsible for caring for and financially supporting her sons and she didn’t know what to do. Unhappy with her own physical appearance, Melinda lacked the self-confidence to even go out and apply for a job. Determined to change that though, Melinda transformed not only her body, but her life altogether. At 40 years old she was in better health than she had ever been and was involved with a great man to whom she married shortly thereafter. Melinda’s amazing health journey led to increased fertility and she conceived shortly after getting married to the love of her life.

Episode 030 - Properly Nourishing a Growing Baby During Pregnancy w/ Nutritionist, Ryann Kipping

dimanche 25 avril 2021Durée 32:02

Join us this episode as Ryan Kipping, a clinically trained Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Lactation Educator, and Author of "The Feel-Good Pregnancy Cookbook" shares how she helps women feel confident in their ability to properly nourish a growing baby through a real food approach.

ABOUT RYANN KIPPING:

Ryann is the founder of The Prenatal Nutritionist, a virtual nutrition private practice, which focuses on preparing women for pregnancy and conquering nutrition during and after pregnancy. She is also the founder of The Prenatal Nutrition Library, an online community for evidence-based nutrition information before and during pregnancy.

Ryann has helped hundreds of women escape confusing and outdated nutrition information to find a happy, feel-good pregnancy. Simply put, advice to “take a prenatal vitamin” is not enough.

If there is any time in your life to make nutrition a priority, it’s now. Eating for two people is different than eating for one. Appetite changes, intense cravings, morning sickness, and heartburn comes in winds and you’re forced to lean into your body’s cues like never before.

During pregnancy, you have to eat intentionally and I’m here to make it easy for you. I’ve done all the research, so you don’t have to spend another minute debating your every bite.

Having the “pregnancy glow” is great and all, but feeling that glow (confidence, nourishment, and energy) on the inside is what matters the most.

Ryann also creates content daily for her popular Instagram account @prenatalnutritionist.

Episode 029 - First Baby Conceived Naturally at 45 Years Old After Several Failed IVF Transfers and Miscarriages w/ Katie

dimanche 18 avril 2021Durée 49:40

Being proactive about freezing her eggs “before it was too late” in her 30’s, Katie thought this was the responsible thing to do after her recent divorce until Mr. Right came along.

A few years later, Katie met her husband at 41 years old and when they married they immediately transferred Katie’s eggs, but it unsuccessful by all accounts. As a result, the couple was told that Katie had a less than 1% chance of conceiving with her own eggs and was advised to use an egg donor. Believing what the doctors were telling her, Katie began the egg donor search, but wasn’t comfortable with the whole process and wanted to try IVF before using donor eggs.

After years of multiple pregnancies, Katie experienced several miscarriages and was devastated. Giving up hope of conceiving with her own eggs, Katie finally convinced herself to go the egg donor route if her upcoming IVF transfer was unsuccessful and started taking hormone injections again, and then she found out that she conceived naturally.

However, instead of being excited, Katie was terrified of losing her baby throughout her entire pregnancy due to having several previous miscarriages. Katie’s very honest “Pregnancy After 40” interview reminds us that all our feelings are valid when it comes to TTC, miscarrying and getting pregnant thereafter. To hear more, tune in to this episode for Katie’s entire “Pregnancy after 40” Journey and Story.

Episode 027 - First Time Mom Over 40 Years Old After Multiple IVF Rounds and Hormone Treatments w/ Quinn (Part 2)

dimanche 4 avril 2021Durée 37:53

After having a highly lucrative career and achieving financial success, Q didn’t stress about having a baby until one day she realized that she was in her 40’s and was missing the one thing that would make her life complete – a baby.

To avoid spending too much time trying to conceive naturally on her own, Q and her husband sought the assistance of Fertility Specialists to help them have a baby after several months of trying. With no known infertility issues, Q was unaware of the emotional and physical journey that she was about to encounter in trying to conceive her baby.

Several failed IVF attempts, a fertility clinic error, relocation to another state, and frustration, Q finally had a successful transfer after a simple change to her treatments. Fortunately, once pregnant, things went relatively smooth, as pregnancy was the calm before the storm of having a newborn for the first time mom in her 40’s.

Being as candid as ever, Q talks about the things that no one tells you about having a baby and newborn. Initially struggling to find a balance and her sanity, Q took matters into her own hands and made decisions that were in the best interest of herself, baby and husband.

To hear more, tune in to this episode for Q’s full 2-part Pregnancy after 40 Journey and Story.

Episode 024 - Unexpected Pregnancy After Infertility Diagnosis Due to Fibroids and Endometriosis w/ Sophia

dimanche 14 mars 2021Durée 40:17

Sophia was told in 2017 by her doctor that she would not need birth control because she had huge fibroids and endometriosis and informed that pregnancy was not possible. She accepted the fact that she wouldn’t have any more children but continued to suffer with the pain associated with having fibroids a few more years until it was unbearable. She was advised that the only way to alleviate the pain caused by the fibroids was to have a hysterectomy. Being in her 40’s already and already having 2 older daughters, Sophia agreed to have the major procedure to have her uterus surgically removed. However, 2 weeks before the scheduled surgery, Sophia went in for pre-op only to find out that she was pregnant. In complete shock of this news, the surgery was obviously canceled, she had the baby and during delivery, the fibroids and endometriosis passed as well. This is an amazing story of being told by a medical professional that there was zero chance in conceiving again to having a baby over 40 years old. To hear more, tune in to this episode for Sophia’s full Pregnancy after 40 Journey and Story.
