| Evil Dead Is the Name and Dead Is the Game | The Last Call | 26 Jun 2025 | ||
This was a frustrating experience. My first thought after booting up Evil Dead: The Game was, "Wow, this is prettier than I was expecting," followed immediately by, "Damn, I wish this was just a normal-ass single-player game. As I played the tutorials and eventually a handful of games, my disappointment and sadness only grew as the tutorial did a poor job of preparing me for a real match. Even once I started to "get it," I still wished Evil Dead: The Game was a single-player game instead of a live-service game; however, a live-service game it is (or was) and as many do, like the name of the game, this one is dead.
| Need for Speed Unbound Review | The Most Frustrating Need for Speed Game I've Ever Played | 25 Jun 2025 | ||
I've played many a Need for Speed game, but not one has frustrated me as much as Need for Speed Unbound. It may have a great sense of style and take place in a fictionalized version of my hometown--a not-so-great take on Chicago--but that's not enough to make up for its annoying structure, frustrating race design, and cheap AI. It also shouldn't come as a surprise that the story is shit, but I doubt anyone was expecting a great story in their racing game. Long story short, the fun was unfound in Need for Speed Unbound.
| MultiVersus Was a Waste of IP | The Last Call | 22 May 2025 | ||
A combination of uninspired gameplay and a completely bonkers handling of its release are just two of the factors that led to MultiVersus wasting a treasure trove of IP; add a poor microtransaction structure and spotty server connectivity on top of that and you've got a recipe for disaster, and a disaster is exactly what MultiVersus was. It's a shame, too, because with better gameplay and a better handling of its great cast of characters, MultiVersus had the potential to be one of the few live service success stories, but alas, a success story it was not.
| A Tale of Two Games: An Anguish-Filled Vanquish Review | Attack the Backlog | 22 May 2022 | ||
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, I slide my way through an average game before discovering the game I played is completely different from the game others have played, except the only way to know it's different is by being told it's different. Why? Because the game itself tells you nothing. Confused? Welcome to the club--the, "I played Vanquish, but I didn't really play Vanquish" club--it's quite crowded in here and y'all know how I feel about crowds, so hopefully this episode helps you realize what Vanquish really is before you start playing it yourself, lest you end up like me and annoyed that what you played in a far cry from what others have played.
| Just 'Cause 3's My Favorite Number Doesn't Mean Just Cause 3's My Favorite Game | Attack the Backlog | 08 May 2022 | ||
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, I blow up everything but dolls in Just Cause 3, a game where you cause mayhem and destruction...just 'cause. This marks a first for Attack the Backlog. This is the first time I've ever gone back into my backlog to finish an old save, instead of restarting a game from the beginning (if it's something I've played before, but never finished). I won't go into further detail here--I have to leave some reason for you to check out the episode (in case my sultry voice isn't enough on its own)--but I will say I 100% made the right decision in choosing to continue my old save instead of starting a new one (and no, not just 'cause).
| How Returnal Went From an All-Time Great to a Game I’d Only Casually Date | Attack the Backlog | 24 Apr 2022 | ||
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, I go on a roller coaster of love to like with Returnal, a third-person roguelite shooter that takes a lot inspiration from shmups and successfully translates it to a 3D environment. The gameplay is sublime, but because of the way it's structured, the game doesn't respect your time. What could have been one of my favorite games of all-time is, instead, just a game I liked and, well, that's fine.
| I Thought Going Commando Was Supposed to Be One of the Good Ones | Attack the Backlog | 10 Apr 2022 | ||
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, I return to the world of Ratchet & Clank with Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando. I went in with the highest of expectations and left with the saddest of realizations: I, maybe, don't like Ratchet & Clank. I loved the original game when I played it so many years ago and loved the reboot/remake, but, until now, those were the only Ratchet & Clank games I've played. Going Commando was my return to a series I thought I'd continue loving; however, what I found was a game more interested in quantity over quality. This hasn't killed my interest in playing other Ratchet & Clank games, mind you, but it has stunted the growth of any potential excitement in playing more games in the series. At least for the time being.
| Ghost of Tsushima is Delicious Like Ma's Sushi, Man | Attack the Backlog | 27 Mar 2022 | ||
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, watch as I duel and reviewel my way through the beautiful forests and valleys of Ghost of Tsushima, a game where you play as a samurai fighting against tradition in order to bring freedom and peace to Japan. If that sounds like your jam, I can't recommend it highly enough. I may sound negative at times in the review, but my experience was unique as outside influences affected me more than usual. Despite all that, I still had a great time, adding yet another win for Sony's secret best studio. Ghost of Tsushima originally came out on July 17, 2020 for PlayStation 4 and has since been released on PlayStation 5.
| Call of Juarez: The What the Hell Were They Thinking One | Attack the Backlog | 13 Mar 2022 | ||
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc puts on their best Obama mask and gets high as a kite while burning fields of dreams in Call of Juarez: The Cartel, the kind of dreams that only weed can make true, especially when playing a game that's worst that poo. The Cartel is a bad game in so many ways and the kind of game that leaves you constantly asking why as you play. Call of Juarez: The Cartel originally came out on July 19, 2011, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a PC release a few months after that. Marc played the Xbox 360 version of the game on an Xbox Series X via backward compatibility and highly recommends not doing the same.
| Tentacles May Suck, But Octodad Most Certainly Does Not | Attack the Backlog | 28 Feb 2022 | ||
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc stays sweet and wholesome instead of tying hens while tentacling some holes, son, in Octodad: Dadliest Catch, a game where you play as an octopus who marries a human woman with two human children (who are never explained) and has a penchant for making a mess wherever he goes, delightfully so. Octodad originally came out on January 30, 2014, for PC and later made his way to everything else, from PS4 and Xbox One, to iOS and Android, and even the Vita and Wii U, before retiring to spend the rest of his days with his family on the Switch.
| Night Trap? More Like Night Mirror If You Know What I Mean... | Attack the Backlog | 14 Feb 2022 | ||
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc spies on teenage girls while trapping vampire ninjas in Night Trap, an FMV game that's pretty stupid and infamous for its help in creating the ESRB thanks to having scenes that were considered, "sexually suggestive and exploitive." Night Trap originally came out on October 15, 1992, for Sega CD and has since been released on a handful of other platforms, including, most recently, the Switch, PS4, and Vita (yep, even the Vita). Anyway, something-something, I think it might be a trap, but I'm still going to fap fap, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show. Anyway, that's it and that's all folks. You can get an even more in-depth discussion by listening to the podcast and, if you're feeling extra generous, you can become a patron, donate a little something, or subscribe to show your support for the site, the podcasts, the streaming, the videos, the art, and everything in between. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to consume any of the content I make and thank you for being a fan. I can't begin to express how much I appreciate each and every one of you. Cheers.
| Is Super Mario 3D World My New Favorite Mario Game?! | Attack the Backlog | 30 Jan 2022 | ||
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc furries it up with their best cat suit as the run, jump, and butt stomp their way through the worlds of Super Mario 3D World, a Mario game no one played when it originally came out that found a second life on the Switch (like every Wii U game) and is probably the closest we'll ever get to a proper Super Mario Bros. 2 sequel, which, if you know me, is a very good thing. Super Mario 3D World originally came out on November 22, 2013, for Wii U, but no one cared, so Nintendo released it again on February 12, 2021, for Switch, along with a brand new expansion titled Bowser’s Fury (which I have yet to play) and now people do care! Anyway, something-something, cat Toad is adorable and has me thinking things that make me feel deplorable, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show. | When Max Payne Became Max on Fire | Attack the Backlog | 16 Jan 2022
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc falls down left and right and struggles to regain their footing in Max Payne 3, a game that is technically a Max Payne game, but feels more like a Man of Fire game than a Max Payne game, sans the Walken, but not the walking. Anyway, something-something, cleaning the Jersey shore with my fists and nothing more, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show. | The Last of Us Part II Review | Part 02 | Pulling Off the Impossible | 21 May 2025
Gameplay woes and character issues aside, the team over at Naughty Dog pulled off the impossible: they not only made me not hate Abby, they made me like her so much I think she may just be the new best character in the series. Unlike Ellie, Abby actually shows growth and an ability to make her own decisions, whereas Ellie becomes a less interesting character the longer the game goes on, eventually becoming someone I almost, kind of, don't like anymore--the final confrontation is a perfect showcase of the how feelings have changed from the beginning of the playthrough to the end of it. While I still don't think Naughty Dog is the best at gameplay, they prove with The Last of Us Part II that they still know how to make one hell of a story.
| Yakuza Kiwami Is a Yet Another Majimezingly Good Time | Attack the Backlog | 02 Jan 2022 | ||
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Majima is everywhere in town and Marc is nowhere to be found in Yakuza Kiwami, a a remake of the first game in the Yakuza series that adds more than just a fresh coat of paint and the original Japanese voice acting, making it worth playing for both new fans and olds fans alike. Anyway, something-something, that's not a deer, that's just Majima in costume, no cap, he literally is everywhere, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show. | PUBG? More like POO POO PEE PEE, Am I Right?! | Attack the Backlog | 19 Dec 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc throws apples at anything and everything while waiting to die so they can throw even more apples in PUBG, a game people like to say started the whole battle royale thing even though it didn't. But whatever. It's an okay game, I guess, but it's no Apex Legends, so who cares, eh. Am I right or am I right? Spoilers: I am so very, very right. Anyway, something-something, people be camping and I can't stand it, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show. | Nights into Dreams Was No Dream, But a Nightmare for Me | Attack the Backlog | 05 Dec 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc spins, twirls, and stumbles their way through the skies and waters of Nights into Dreams, a game that's more nightmarish than dreamy with only a fantastic soundtrack making up for what is otherwise a terrible game. Anyway, something-something, feels like a good night for a curse, but I guess things could be worse, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show. | It Won’t Be Alien for You to Rage While Playing Alien Rage | Attack the Backlog | 21 Nov 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc rages through these corridors, those corridors, and morridors in Alien Rage, a game about raging as you try and kill every alien before they kill you first! It's a fitting title for a shitty title in this episode with the witty title; by the way, when I was a kid, I performed in a piano recital. Anyway, something-something, pretty cheap and awfully weak, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show! | Five Dates at Freddy's This Is Not, but a Good Time It Surprisingly Is | Attack the Backlog | 07 Nov 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc goes on a handful of online dates in Five Dates, a game about, well, online dating that is, surprisingly, nowhere near as cringey as it could have been. Your buddy may be a bit of a weirdo creep, but the dates you go on are far from weird and creepy, so if you want that online dating action without actually online dating, Five Dates is the game for you! Anyway, something-something, Shaina is the best, don't settle for anyone less, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show! | Five Nights Since Freddy Got Fingered for Being a Scaredy-bear | Attack the Backlog | 24 Oct 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc shows just how much they're willing to do for a Patron, shitting their pants, making no kind of sanse, all while spying on murderous furry robots in Five Nights at Freddy's, a game that takes Chuck E. Cheese and changes it to Fuck U. Please! Anyway, something-something, it was a self-induced hell, but only lasted a spell, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show! | Descending Down Hills Without a Water Bottle in Sight | Attack the Backlog | 10 Oct 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc descends down hills while dehydrated in Descenders, a game all about dominating mountains one course at a time, lest you fail and have to start over from the beginning. It's basically a downhill mountain biking roguelike and it's super rad. Anyway, something-something, I just want a new Downhill Domination, come on world, it's never too late son, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show! | This One Time, At Mind Camp, I Psychonaut Finished The Game | Attack the Backlog | 26 Sep 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc rides pains, brains, and automofeels--even I think this is terrible--in Psychonauts...1, naut 2, a game where you enter the minds of NPCs and see what happens when you pee ‘nside...or something like that--doubling down on the terribleness, eh. Psychonauts originally came out on April 19th, 2005 for PC and Xbox, and came out a few months later on PS2. Anyway, something-something, the end of an era, I'm looking into a mirror, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show! | Jumanji: The Movie: The Video Game: The Review: For You: By Me: That's It: Hehe | Attack the Backlog | 12 Sep 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc shoots their way through the forests, villages, caves, and ruins of Jumanji: The Video Game, the video game all about Jumanji: The Movie. Not the original movie starring Robin Williams, but the new (good) ones, starring The Rock, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, that one Jonas brother, the guy who’s too old for this shit, and the fanficced voice of Detective Pikachu. Jumanji: The Video Game originally came out on November 8th, 2019 for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. Anyway, something-something, not that bad--does that make you mad?--cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show! Anyway, that's it and that's all folks. | From Love to Hate, Behold My Journey With Cat Quest II, Mate | Attack the Backlog | 29 Aug 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc hacks and slashes their way through the forests and deserts of Cat Quest II, the sequel to Cat Quest, which adds a playable dog companion and doubles down on the cat puns with dog puns to go along with ‘em. It’s still as cute as it ever was and brings the series to Xbox for the first time. Cat Quest II originally came out on September 19th, 2019 for PC, PS4, Switch, iOS, and Xbox One. Anyway, something-something, far from purfect or fur from perfect, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show! Anyway, that's it and that's all folks. | Dauntless Had a Good Run | The Last Call | 15 May 2025
Unlike some of the games I've recently played for The Last Call, Dauntless had a good run, launching in beta in May 2018 and lasting until May 2025. That's seven good years. Well, as someone who didn't regularly play it, I can't say they were good years with any kind of authority, but as someone who played it near launch and near death, it was a fine time. Ultimately, I think it never found a way to get out from under Monster Hunter's shadow, so it was only a matter of time until it died. To all the players who will miss it now that it's gone, I hope you're able to remember all the good times you had as you try a find a new game to play with your lads.
| Call of Duty: Warzone Is Good, but Apex Legends Is Still King of the Canyon | Attack the Backlog | 15 Aug 2021 | ||
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc jumps, falls, and shoots their way through the streets of Call of Duty: Warzone, Activision's free-to-play, second (and successful) attempt at making a battle royale game set in the Call of Duty universe. Call of Duty: Warzone originally came out on March 10th, 2020 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Anyway, something-something, I feel a bit icky, but I finished this episode months ago and thus it be sticking, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show! | My Cat’s Name Was Pokey and I Loved Him Just Like I Love Doki Doki! | Attack the Backlog | 01 Aug 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc reads, reads, and reads some more as they make their way through the story of Doki Doki Literature Club, a visual novel about a literature club and that's it, except that's not it, but to say any more would do a disservice to any potential new players. Just know that Doki Doki Literature Club is 100% worth your time, even if you don't usually like visual novels; even if you've never liked a visual novel; even if the concept of visual novels turns you off like mayonnaise on pumpkin pie. Doki Doki Literature Club originally came out on September 22nd, 2017 for PC for free and later released in a premium “Plus” package with new content for $14.99 on June 31st, 2021 for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. Anyway, something-something, avoiding spoilers, hey now, you shouldn't loiter, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show! | I Shaodid Like 9 Monkeys of Shaolin | Attack the Backlog | 04 Jul 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc punches and kicks their way through the fields, forests, and villages of 9 Monkeys of Shaolin, a beat ‘em up full of over-the-top physics, slow-motion deaths, and more tea than you could ever hope to drink. 9 Monkeys of Shaolin originally came out on October 16th, 2020 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. Anyway, something-something, better than expected, it got me slightly erected, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show! If you're feeling extra generous, you can become a patron, donate a little something-something, or subscribe to show your support for the site, the plentiful podcasts, the various videos, the absurd art, and all of the other nonsensical nonsense we make over here at Pixelated Sausage. | Don't Count on Donut County for Donut Counting! Damacy What I Did There? | Attack the Backlog | 20 Jun 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc swallows and occasionally spits in streets and backyards of Donut County, a game where you control a hole and make it bigger by filling it with shit; think Katamari Damacy, only in reverse. Donut County originally came out for iOS, PC, and PS4 on August 28th, 2018, before making its way to Switch and Xbox One on December 18th of that same year. Anyway, something-something, best played on handhelds, I like to watch cheese melt, cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show! | Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Is My New Favorite Uncharted Game | Attack the Backlog | 06 Jun 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc gets fast and furious as they run, swing, and climb their way through the jungles and ruins of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the standalone follow-up to Uncharted 4 where you play as Chloe Frazer instead of Nathan Drake and team up with Nadine Ross instead of Sully for some good ol' fashioned adventuring. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy originally came out on August 22nd, 2017 for PS4 and that’s it. Anyway, something-something, best played on Baby Mode, well, don't you know, that final sequence made me go, "Whoa!," cheers and enjoy the...wait for it...show! If you're feeling extra generous, you can become a patron, donate a little something-something, or subscribe to show your support for the site, the plentiful podcasts, the various videos, the absurd art, and all of the other nonsensical nonsense we make over here at Pixelated Sausage. | The First Tree is Too Sad For Its Own Good, See | Attack the Backlog | 23 May 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc gets sad and somber as they wander the forests of The First Tree, a game of two stories, one following a mother fox searching for her children and the other of a man, talking to his partner, remembering his father and the relationship he had with him. The First Tree originally came out on September 14th, 2017 for PC and later made its way to PS4, Switch, and Xbox One the following year, followed by a release on mobile platforms in 2020. Anyway, something-something, getting a little foxy, look ma, I'm jumping on rocks, see, cheers and enjoy the show! | Kirby's Epic Yarn Is the Opposite of Deplorable and Unsurprisingly Adorable | Attack the Backlog | 09 May 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc transforms into planes, trains, and automobiles in Kirby's Epic Yarn, a game where you play as everyone’s favorite little marshmallow, only this time everything, including yourself, is made out of yarn. Kirby’s Epic Yarn originally came out on October 17th, 2010 for the Nintendo Wii and was later ported to the 3DS on March 8th, 2019. Anyway, something-something, maybe a bit too easy, here's a hyphen and the word peasy, cheers and enjoy the show! On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc flies through the skies and jumps really high in jungles and canyons of Dark Void, a third-person cover-based shooter where you get a jetpack and a fancy helmet so you can do you best Rocketeer impression. Dark Void originally came out on January 19th, 2010 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. | Rime: An Underrated Gem of a Game That's 100% Worth Your Time | Attack the Backlog | 11 Apr 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc walks, jumps, and climbs their way through the beautiful environments of Rime, an adventure puzzle game with an impactful story accompanied by some of the best music Marc's ever heard in a video game. Rime originally came out for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on May 26th, 2017, and made its way to Switch six months later on November 14th, 2017. Anyway, something-something, it's absolutely lovely, making me feel all kinds of bubbly, cheers and enjoy the show! | Gorogonna Wish They Liked Gorogoa More Than They Gorogun Did | Attack the Backlog | 28 Mar 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc zooms in and out and put and in and in and out of the pictures of Gorogoa, a simple puzzle game about moving and manipulating pictures on a 2x2 grid. Gorogoa originally came out on December 14th, 2017 for PC, iOS, and Switch, and later made its way to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 the following year on May 22nd, 2018. Anyway, something-something lacking satisfaction, like watching Keanu Reeve's Chain Reaction, cheers and enjoy the show! | The Last of Us Part II Review | Part 01 | Is It Better Than Part I? | 14 May 2025
This was a long time coming. I've talked about wanting to play The Last of Us Part II for years now, but the mood was never quite right. After luckily stumbling into a 30th Anniversary PlayStation 5 Pro, I said The Last of Us Part II would be the game to break my new console's cherry. Fast-forward six months later and that time has finally come (insert eyebrow raising here). This episode covers a little over half of the game's story and this shouldn't need to be said, but expect heavy spoilers. With all that out of the way, give this episode a listen to see if I think The Last of Us Part II is a significant improvement over its predecessor, or just more of the same.
| You'll Get More Than a Minute's Worth of Enjoyment Out of Minit | Attack the Backlog | 14 Mar 2021 | ||
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc dies, dies, and dies some more (but never hardly) in Minit, the game where you only have a minute to live before (almost) everything resets. Minit originally came out on April 3rd, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, followed by a Switch release on August 9th of that same year and a mobile release--both Android and iOS--on June 27th, 2019. Anyway, something-something that's not how you spell minute, they must feel like real idits, cheers and enjoy the show! | Is Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Worth Your...Time? | Attack the Backlog | 28 Feb 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc jumps, wall runs, and falls to their death--wait, that's not how it happened--in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, a game about shooting zombies, wait, that’s not what it’s about; a game about driving fast cars, wait, that’s not what it’s about; a game about farming and falling in love, wait, that’s not what it’s about either. Hold on, now I remember, it’s a game about sand, hacking and slashing enemies made of sand, and solving puzzles that may or may not have anything to do with sand. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time originally came out for Game Boy Advance, apparently, on October 28th, 2003, and made its way to PS2, PC, Xbox, and GameCube later that year between the months of November and December. Anyway, something-something time-stopping with sand-droppings, cheers and enjoy the show! | Shhhhhhhhhould You Play The Quiet Man? No...no...Absolutely Not | Attack the Backlog | 14 Feb 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc hears nothing, wishes they could see nothing, and hates everything that has to do with The Quiet Man, a game about some emo boy who can't hear that answers yes to the question, "Is it really that bad?" The Quiet Man originally came out on November 1st, 2018 for PC and PS4 and one-hundred percent shouldn't be played by anyone. If you want to consume something called The Quiet Man, watch The Quiet Man starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara; it's much better. Anyway, something-something I've literally wasted my life, the least you could do is spare me a bit of your time, cheers and enjoy the show! | Doom! Here Comes the Doom! Ready or Not, Here Come the Demons from the South! | Attack the Backlog | 31 Jan 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc makes with the punches, eats demon's lunches, shoots fools in bunches, and stomps 'em until they hear crunches as they make their way through hell and back in Doom (2016), the soft reboot of the first-person shooter series all about shooting demons in the face while kick-ass metal music plays in the background. Doom (2016) originally came out on May 16th, 2016 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, followed by a Switch release a year later on November 10th, 2017. Anyway, something-something Doom, here comes the Doom, ready or not, I finally like a game say what(?!)... cheers and enjoy the show! | My Father Hates Halo 2! | Attack the Backlog | 17 Jan 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc shoots, slashes, and friendly fires their way through space and more in Halo 2, a game they played from start to finish with their father, a father who constantly berated them while playing, making sure it was known just how much he hated the entire experience. Halo 2 originally came out on November 4th, 2004, for Xbox, just Xbox, the original Xbox, not Xbox One; though, for a time, you could have called it the Xbox 1, but then Microsoft had to go and release a new console that’s now an old console called Xbox One and ruin everything. In addition to releasing on Xbox 1, but not Xbox One, Halo 2 did eventually make its way to PC as a Windows Vista exclusive on May 31st, 2007, and was rereleased in a remastered form, aptly referred to as Halo 2 Anniversary, as part of the Master Chief Collection on November 11th, 2014 for Xbox One, the new one, and later made its way to PC (finally) as part of the same collection on May 12, 2020. Anyway, something-something, can we please stop playing 'cause this game I be a hating, cheers and enjoy the show! | Is It Worth Getting Loose with the Untitled Goose...Game? | Attack the Backlog | 03 Jan 2021
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc honks, honks, honks, and HONKS some more through the streets and backyards of Untitled Goose Game, a game where you play as a goose and annoy the shit out of everyone, yourself included. Untitled Goose Game originally came out for PC and Switch on September 20th, 2019, and later made its way to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 a few months later on December 17th, 2019. Anyway, something-something, honk, I mean, *clears throat*, honk, cheers and enjoy the show...honk! | Remember Undertow? Of Course You Don't! (And You Should Keep It That Way) | Attack the Backlog | 20 Dec 2020
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc swims, swims, and swims some more through the seas and oceans of Undertow, a game about undersea adventures that may sound very familiar, where your main concern is capturing points and whittling down your opponents reserves before your own reserves reach zero. Undertow originally came out for Xbox 360 on November 21st, 2007 and was given away for free to all Xbox LIVE users during the period of January 23rd to the 27th of 2008 as a make good after Xbox LIVE suffered an extended outage. It was literally the least Microsoft could do. Anyway, something-something, merry-go-round, this time, I do hope I drown, cheers and enjoy the show. | Should I Have Left The Last Of Us: Left Behind...Behind? | Attack the Backlog | 06 Dec 2020
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc shoots and stabs their way through the abandoned mall of The Last of Us: Left Behind, the standalone DLC that takes place both before and during the events of The Last of Us, as Ellie tries to find supplies in order to save Joel while also remembering a time before the events of the first game when she spent time with a good friend in the very same mall. The Last of Us: Left Behind originally came out for PS3 as DLC for The Last of Us on February 14th, 2014, and was later bundled with The Last of Us Remastered on July 29th, 2014, before being released on its own for both PS3 and PS4 on May 12th, 2015. Anyway, something-something, merry-go-round, I hope I don't drown, cheers and enjoy the show. | Is It Worth Keeping a PS4 for Hitman Go? | Attack the Backlog | 22 Nov 2020
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc sneaks and creeps through the yards and homes of Hitman Go, a board game-like take on the video game series of the same name, bringing the puzzle-solving aspect to the forefront. Hitman Go originally came out for iOS on April 17th, 2014, and then made its way to Android a few months later, followed by eventual releases on Windows Phone (yup), Windows proper, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. Anyway, something-something, become a silent assassin and don't forget to put your mask on, cheers and enjoy the show. | Attack the Backlog: Anthem | 08 Nov 2020
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc runs through the forests and flies through the skies of Anthem, a third-person action game where you can fly like Iron Man and...you can fly like Iron Man. Anthem originally came out on February 22nd, 2019 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and is, in no way, related to the song, "The Anthem," by Good Charlotte; surprising, I know. Anyway, something-something, sure, the flying is cool, but the rest kind of reminds me of stool, cheers and enjoy the show. | Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles Review | There's a Good Game Somewhere in Here | 07 May 2025
Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles is one of the few games I've not completed for Attack the Backlog. The reason is twofold. First, it's structured in such a way that you can just play whatever level you want in whatever order you want and actually "beating" the game feels inconsequential. Second, and more importantly, it's just an incredibly frustrating game. That said, however, there's so much potential in a game like Jedi Power Battles, which reminds one of games like Gauntlet Dark Legacy and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, that I'd love to see either a proper remake or a brand new game in the series. Sadly, I doubt that will ever happen, but I'll continue hoping because if you lose hope with Star Wars, what do you have left?
| Attack the Backlog: Friday the 13th: The Game | 25 Oct 2020 | ||
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc walks, runs, swims, and hides in the cabins, lakes, and woods of Friday the 13th: The Game, the asymmetrical multiplayer game from Illfonic and not the NES game from Atlus; yes, that Atlus. Friday the 13th: The Game originally came out on Friday the 26th of May, 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and later made its way to Switch on Not Friday the 13th of August, 2019, which, sadly, was just a boring old Tuesday. Anyway, something-something buggy and full of Jasons dropping, cheers and enjoy the show. | Attack the Backlog: Pokemon Sword and Shield | 11 Oct 2020
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc walks, runs, and bikes through the fields, caves, and seas of Pokemon Sword and Shield, a game/series that needs no introduction because, if you don't know what Pokemon is, I...I don't know what to say to you except run away before it's too late!. Pokemon Sword and Shield originally came out on August 15th, 2019 for the Nintendo Switch, making it the first "real" Pokemon game for a home console; though, since you can take the Switch on the go, it's still a portable Pokemon game as well. Anyway, something-something heartbreaking and soul aching, cheers and enjoy the show. | Attack the Backlog: Strange Brigade | 27 Sep 2020
On this episode of Attack the Backlog, Marc shoots and shoots and shoots some more through the deserts, towns, and tombs of Strange Brigade, a cooperative third-person shooter where you and up to three other players do your best to stop the evil queen, Seteki, from taking over the world, or some crap like that. Strange Brigade originally came out on August 28th, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It’s also available on Google Stadia, but, come on, does anyone actually care about Stadia? Anyway, something-something overlong and where have all flowers gone, cheers and enjoy the show.
