This week I talk to Stuart of the Miniature Realms Youtube channel. Stuart puts together a wide range of content for us to enjoy from chats to tutorials to book overviews. I have wanted to talk to Stuart for a long time as he always comes across as a solid stand up chap who is passionate about our hobby, and he was! This week I talk to Dave Schmidt. Dave is not only a hobby nerd like us but he is also a self published author. He writes the Clay and Aether saga and he's not done! He is writing more books as we speak, maybe at this very moment, so be quiet, dont disrupt him. It was great to talk to Dave, he is one of our own, he's been a member of the PATM discord for ages and he is always a positive presence and influence on those around him, thanks Dave, was a great chat and we all wish you the very best.

Dave also sent us a snipped of one of his books and we can listen to that right after the intro, so if you like it you can check out the audiobooks or ye'olde'skool read if yourself versions. Its on Amazon, I picked up the series the other week and I have a bit of holiday coming up sooooooo, I am on it!

This episode I speak to Chris Birch of Modiphius Entertainment. Modiphius are best known to me for their Fallout and Elder Scrolls skirmish games. They have taken two brilliant video game IP's and turned them into tabletop skirmish games. Fallout works with resin minis but The Elder Scrolls games has introduced a line of plastic fantasy minis which although I found a little fiddly to put together, now I have constructed and primed will make excellent additions to my fantasy skirmish collection.

I really enjoyed talking to Chris and I encourage you to take a wander over to Modiphius' website, especially if you like RPG's and even more so if you like the Elder Scrolls and or Fallout. Games aside Chris was a superb guest and I was really interested talking to him, I hope you enjoy the noises we both made that I captured.

We talk about how it may relate to our hobby and especially with sharing on social media. We aren't qualified to coherently talk about this, it is just our ideas/thoughts/suggestions and how it occurs to us as it occurs to us.

This episode I speak to Mr Lon Weiss of Brigade Games. Brigade games offer a wide variety of minis both from their own commissioned ranges to other notable companies in one place. There is a heavy focus on the Black Powder era and they have a current kickstarter campaign to fund a French Indian War range of models sculpted by the talented  Mr Paul Hick's who PATM are fortunate to count as a friend of the show. The current KS does end on June 7 2020, which is 2 days from the release date but as with all the shows I dont consider them to be timestamped by the content or just a sales platform. Lon and I have a wide ranging chat from his regular day job, into how Brigade Games came into being with brief forays into other areas. 

It was a pleasure to talk to Lon and he comes across as a highly experienced person in the hobby industry, it was fun picking his brain for an hour and a bit, I hope you enjoy the show.

This episode I speak to Jens of Tabletop Generals. Tabletop Generals is a YouTube channel which is charting the course of World War 2 from very beginning to very end via bat reps and hobby content. It was a pleasure speaking to Jens and I had fun reliving my silly German sayings, along with some very deep conversation about the Waffen SS from his German point of view. I need to mention it here in the intro and I dont want it to potentially offend anyone, so if you dont want to hear about our opinions on man's potential to do not very nice things to others then this might be a show to miss. It is my opinion that anyone is capable of doing anything, either amazing or terrible, depending on the circumstances and situation. I am not condoning war crime, or any crime of any sort, or celebrating it, I dont even think anything we talk about is controversial in anyway, but I just thought I'd mention it here. It is my own and Jen's unqualified opinions on it at this point in time…Whew! I made that seem a lot more serious than what it is, but there you go.

This episode I speak to Mr Restless Kaiser of Modelling for Advantage. Modeling for Advantage is a Youtube Channel putting together battle reports for various games along with other content for our viewing pleasure from a number of different people. I enjoy the level of banter and hijiinx that goes on during their games, I always have a chuckle watching it and I'd heartily recommend you having a look see. 

The audio was a little dodgy as you will hear but its good enough for the chat and to understand. In a perfect world we'd have  a plush studio and I'd helicopter the guests in, they'd land on the roof and be ushered into some private quarters to relax in a hot tub before the show, but we  dont live in a perfect world, so unfortunately we have to get what we are dealt.

This episode we have a genuine RAMBLE!!!! Joe Mc and I have a wide ranging conversation about our experience of and the dichotomy that is Kickstarter.

I like and dislike kickstarter in equal measure and this very much comes through in the chat. Its amazing and terrible and amazingly terrible, and terribly amazing. I struggle with podcasts like this and I have been sat on it for a month because I dont want to poo poo anything that anyone does in the industry I have no right, but equally these things effect us, they effect me, and making sense of them helps me to game sustainably.

I havent arrived at my set view point yet, I dont apologize for the loose ends that remain dangling at the close of this episode. This podcast is very much the sort of conversation I have anyway, there just usually isnt a microphone there to capture it. I hope you enjoy it.
