- Understanding the different parts of the thyroid feedback loop, including TSH, T4, and T3, is important to maintain healthy hormone levels. Stress, nutrient deficiencies, infections, and extreme diets can impact hormone levels.
- Spending time outdoors, taking walks, practicing yoga, getting enough sleep, and reducing screen time are ways to improve mental and physical health.
- Sleep affects leptin and ghrelin levels, which are important for regulating appetite and satisfaction. Poor lifestyle choices like lack of exercise, poor sleep, and excessive screen time can negatively affect children's health.
- Having margin in one's schedule and reducing screen time before bed improves the secretion of melatonin, which is essential for better sleep, lower cortisol levels, better leptin and ghrelin levels, and adequate melatonin for egg quality, particularly for those who want to get pregnant.
- Taking melatonin supplements does not necessarily help one stay asleep. A de-stressing wind-down process before bed, including box breathing, can help one sleep better.
- Sex hormones relate to women's menstrual cycles.
