Now That's What I Call Music!

Saison 1 · Épisode 4

mardi 26 août 2025Durée 57:32

Sinéad and Mel are dusting off their discmans for this one and going back to the heady days of afternoons in HMV, CD car changers and Gonzo after school (thanks for everything, Zane Lowe). The 2000s were a wild ride of emo and RnB with a side of musical theatre, a time where burning CDs was an act of love and CD wallets were our most prized possessions (RIP Mel’s collection, lost forever).

From poring over lyrics and artwork to staring out of the rainy bus window and pretending we were in music videos, music is EVERYTHING to teenagers. We’re looking back to how music helped us understand new experiences, feel new feelings and try on new identities. And how, decades later, Sinéad’s teen music taste is still the key to her mental health. Mum, Dad – it’s not a phase!

This is If Destroyed Still True: the podcast where millennial best friends Sinéad Kennedy Sklar and Melissa Murdock rewind the mixtape of their teenage years and press play on the moments that shaped who they are today. We ask ourselves: how does this show up in our lives now? And if you could talk to your teenage self: what would you tell her

Hit follow, share your own teen chaos memories with us @IDSTpod, and get ready to laugh, cringe, and remember your fave mixtape.

She’s gonna blow!

Saison 1 · Épisode 3

mardi 12 août 2025Durée 44:49

Content note: In this episode we talk about some sensitive topics, including pregnancy and miscarriage. We refer to women, girls  and female reproductive systems a lot, as we’re talking about menstrual cycles, but we don’t believe that’s the defining characteristic of womanhood. Protect the dolls!

Sinéad and Mel are heading straight for the downstairs department: that’s right, we’re talking first periods, school sex ed, and all the weird/genius names we had for our “bits” in the early 2000s. Tampons were flying, and so were the rumours about Toxic Shock Syndrome.

From that one chaotic day the entire school learned about reproductive systems, to being handed the pill without much conversation, we’re unpacking how our understanding of our bodies was shaped early on. And how, after nearly two decades on hormonal contraception, we’re feeling a bit disconnected from our bodies.

This is If Destroyed Still True: the podcast where millennial best friends Sinéad Kennedy Sklar and Melissa Murdock rewind the mixtape of their teenage years and press play on the moments that shaped who they are today. We ask ourselves: how does this show up in our lives now? And if you could talk to your teenage self: what would you tell her?
Hit follow, share your own teen clique chaos with us @IDSTpod, and get ready to laugh, cringe, and remember exactly where you sat at lunchtime.

The Imposters Club - 9–5s, breaking news and make-believe bands

Saison 6 · Épisode 1

mardi 9 mai 2023Durée 47:12

The Imposters Club is back for season 6, helmed as always by Sinéad and Mel: two best mates figuring life out, one episode at a time.

We left you on a cliffhanger: Sinéad was about to start a new job and Mel was heading back to work after maternity leave. In that time we’ve discovered new versions of ourselves at work, struggled with what feels like a never-ending doom cycle in the news, and dived into the hazy, rose-tinted world of Daisy Jones’s 1970s California.

Returning to work after having a child comes with a lot of conflicting emotions, pressures, and a sense of being pulled in 100 different directions - is it something we can every truly be ready for? Well, probably not - but there are things you can do to prepare practically and emotionally. We’re joined this week by pregnancy and postpartum therapist Sophie Harris aka @looking_after_mum, to talk about managing expectations, honest conversations and feeling more confident about returning to work.

The Imposters Club - Are we booked, busy and burning out? with Dr Sam Akbar

Saison 5 · Épisode 3

mardi 16 août 2022Durée 01:04:08

The Imposters Club returns for our 5th season, and this time we’re talking WORK. Sinéad’s pivoting her career, Melissa’s returning from maternity leave and the whole world is talking about how we can work better.

We're in the booked and busy era, but 53% of women say their stress levels are even higher than they were a year ago. It seems that burnout is NOT a conversation to be left in 2020. It’s very real, very relevant and very much something we need to be aware of in order to manage and prevent it, rid ourselves of shame around it and work together to create a working culture that doesn’t make us ill. We’re joined this episode by Dr Sam Akbar, Clinical Psychologist and author of the frankly vital new book, Stressilient: How to Beat Stress and Build Resilience, to talk burnout, self-compassion and banning ‘good vibes only’.

The Imposters Club - How do we recover from #girlboss and hustle culture? with Seyda Karimpour

Saison 5 · Épisode 2

mercredi 3 août 2022Durée 58:01

The Imposters Club returns for our 5th season, and this time we’re talking WORK. Sinéad’s pivoting her career, Melissa’s returning from maternity leave and the whole world is talking about how we can work better.

Let us take you on a little trip down memory lane. It’s 2014: we’re trying to get our foot on the professional ladder, tentatively calling ourselves feminists, and holding an Urban Outfitters mug that says ‘you have the same 24 hours as Beyoncé’. It is the era of the #girlboss. How did she shape the professional ambitions of a generation of young women? Has hustle culture burnt us out? And with time of death officially called on the Girlboss in 2020, what do we do with that vision of work now?

In this episode we’re joined by Seyda Karimpour, founder of Seasons of Work, a community platform for multi-passionates who want to push back against hustle culture and find their own rhythm in work and life.

The Imposters Club - Do we need to stop talking about Imposter Syndrome?

Saison 5 · Épisode 1

mercredi 20 juillet 2022Durée 38:52

WE’RE BACK! The Imposters Club returns for our 5th season, and this time we’re talking WORK. Sinéad’s pivoting her career, Melissa’s returning from maternity leave and the whole world is talking about how we can work better.

In our first episode we’re going back to basics by deep-diving into what brought us here, and asking the potentially podcast-ending question: do we need to STOP talking about Imposter Syndrome? Stay tuned for why you can’t ‘fix’ it (and why it’s not your responsibility to) and how Imposter Syndrome might make you a better colleague after all. Hmm…
