jeudi 4 mai 2023 • Durée 48:12
Dr Fiona Peters is a UK based leading expert in Neurodiversity in the workplace and in her personal life, as well as an authority on the impact of the mixed-race classification in organisations and families.
She has ADHD and she was diagnosed in her early 50s. We sat down to talk about ADHD, failure and how to heal post-diagnosis.
Fiona has a mission to help support people in business with ADHD. Using her extensive experience and her personal experience of having ADHD we had a fascinating conversion about her journey to diagnosis and what impact that has had on her personal and professional life.
We touch on the experience of being diagnosed in an adulthood as children of the 70s and 80s and growing up in a world where little was understood about ADHD and neurodiversity.
It was a very deep, raw and honest conversation that I know will support those with ADHD or thinking they may have it.

I wanted to understand how you can stop yourself from getting into legal disputes in your business. They can cause so much stress for business owners and entrepreneurs.
I sat down with Alvin Ittoo, Commercial Law Solicitor from Acumen Business Law to talk about the key things any business owner needs to understand about contracts and disputes.
We covered:
- What mistakes do businesses make when it comes to contracts.
- Why protecting intellectual property (IP) is critical and how you can protect yours.

- What to do when someone isn't paying because they aren't happy with the work you have done.
- What to do when things goes wrong and how to stop a dispute going to court.
I asked some key questions:
- Are verbal contracts legally binding and what are the dangers?
- Do you HAVE to get your terms and conditions signed?
- Can you use boilerplate contracts or take other people's contracts and rehashing them for your own use?

How to Improve Your Fitness as an Entrepreneur | Ep 31
Saison 1 · Épisode 31
jeudi 6 avril 2023 • Durée 54:13
How can we, as entrepreneurs improve our fitness levels and do more exercise?
Fitness and exercise doesn't come naturally to everyone, unless you are fully committed or a personal trainer then you may find it a challenge to get out for a run or down the gym for a workout. This is even harder if you have dependants like kids or people you care for.
The challenges entrepreneurs and business owners face only makes it harder. Especially when you start out or you are going through a rough patch.
That said making exercise part of your routine is critical to support you in being successful in your business.
In this episode I explore the topic with personal trainer, fitness expert and entrepreneur Lynsey Treharne. She is deeply passionate about helping women get into the weight section of the gym but anyone can benefit from her passion, knowledge and experience.
- How can we improve our fitness and wellbeing with the pressures of running a business?
- Is there a link between success in business and having a success fitness regime?
- How do you manage to fit exercise in when you have no two weeks that look the same?

How Not to Scale A Business: Entrepreneur's Stories Alex Chisnall | Ep 29
Épisode 29
mercredi 15 mars 2023 • Durée 01:03:05
My friend Alex Chisnall did me the honour of joining me on the podcast to talk about his journey from cabin crew, to not being able to get a job interview at Tesco to becoming an entrepreneur.
Come on his journey from serving drinks at 35,000 feet to having a number one podcast on its 500 episode after 6 years and his own successful podcast agency.
He's the man responsible for helping me get How Not to Run a Business off the ground, so he's a very special guest.
It's an open, honest, and frank conversation about his journey, his successes and failures. He started his journey having no idea what he wanted to do. After spending a year developing a business plan, he got started building a sports injury clinic. It all came crashing down around Alex to the point he had a debt collector park his car on his drive and refuse to move it until he paid up. Now he's running his podcast and his podcast agency.
This is an important lesson in scaling too quickly and taking a step back from your business too quickly, not planning and avoiding paying your rent!
We touch on his journey to launch his podcast from 2 downloads in the first week, then to 50,000 downloads a week. It's a great lesson is perseverance and determination.
It's an incredible conversation, Alex's honest is refreshing and you will learn a lot!
