Systems can help us be more productive by taking away the need to make decisions or reinvent the wheel every time we do something.

[00:01:15] - Last week, we went through the first three pieces of the puzzle: clarity, the scientist mindset, and being a person of integrity. This week, we're looking at the remaining three: energy, habits and systems. The six areas fall under the framework:. Who do I need to be? How do I work? And what do I do?

[00:02:35] - Energy is one of our most precious resources. We need to protect our energy and work with the natural rhythm of that energy. Get the sleep, eat the foods that give you energy and do the exercise. Work with our energy rather than against it. Think about when you are naturally most awake.

[00:08:13] - Habits are important because they affect our productivity and stress levels. It's important to be mindful about what you're doing, and cataloging your habits is a good place to start the phone, picking up, drinking coffee and going for a run are some of the habits that can be changed.

[00:11:09] - Systems are a set of practices and procedures that are applied to specific activities to achieve a specific result. Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg and others have a system for their clothes, so they wear the same clothes every day. System gives you back your freedom and gives your brain more space for creativity.

"Everything that we do, we have put out there internally first. So everything starts inside."
