S5E13 The hidden imposter
Saison 5
samedi 14 décembre 2024 • Durée 26:52
"Imposter syndrome isn’t always loud. Sometimes, it’s the quiet pressure to prove yourself, the subtle doubts that whisper, ‘Am I really enough?’" ~ Rochelle Marie
In this episode of Her Leadership Coach, Rochelle dives into the lesser-known side of imposter syndrome—the hidden imposter. This isn’t the bold, in-your-face doubt that screams you’re a fraud. It’s the quieter, more insidious version that shows up in over-preparation, hesitating to take opportunities, or feeling like you constantly need to do more to prove your worth.
We’ll explore:
- What hidden imposter syndrome looks like and how it differs from the more recognisable form.
- Why high-achieving women are particularly vulnerable to this quiet self-doubt.
- Practical strategies to shift from self-doubt to self-trust, including how to reconnect with your inner champion and take aligned action.
- How to lead with confidence and inspire others by embracing your authentic worth.
Plus, Rochelle shares why recognising these patterns isn’t about fixing yourself—it’s about rewriting the story imposter syndrome has been telling you.

S5E3 Should You Be the Hero of Your Own Journey?
Saison 5
samedi 5 octobre 2024 • Durée 17:06
"Being the sidekick in your own story isn’t just about staying in the background—it’s about letting your doubts and fears dictate your actions. And that’s why it’s so important to recognise when those fears are holding you back, and to challenge them."
Episode Overview:
In this episode of Her Leadership Coach, we’re diving into the concept of the hero’s journey and how it applies to leadership. While many of us are familiar with the idea of the hero in movies and books, what happens when we bring that concept into our own lives? For many women, stepping into the hero role can feel daunting, and we often find ourselves playing the sidekick instead. Rochelle shares her thoughts on why this happens, personal stories from her leadership journey, and how to find the balance between stepping up and stepping back.
Takeaways:
- Why so many women feel more comfortable in the sidekick role and the cultural and personal reasons behind it.
- Leadership is not about always being in the spotlight—it’s about recognising when it’s your time to step up and when it’s time to let others shine.
- Your inner saboteur can keep you from being the hero of your own journey, but recognising and challenging that voice can lead to growth and empowerment.
- Sometimes being a great leader means stepping back and allowing others to take the lead, creating a more powerful and effective team dynamic.
Call to Action: Reflect on where you’ve been playing the sidekick in your own life or career. What would it look like if you stepped into the hero role? How would that change your approach to leadership?

S1E5 The Six Areas You Need to Embrace for a Productive, Less-Stressed Life (Part 2)
Saison 1
dimanche 14 août 2022 • Durée 15:38
I'm sharing the final three pieces of the Done Not Dusted framework so that you can get productivity, focus, and freedom.
"I've come to see energy as one of our most precious resources."
Hi, I'm Rochelle, the Her Leadership Coach, and I help quietly determined career women step up into leadership roles.
In this episode, we're finishing up the work we started last week on the three pieces of the puzzle to getting things done without stress.
This week, we're focusing on energy, habits, and systems.
I believe that energy is one of our most precious resources, and we need to do everything we can to protect it and work with our natural rhythms. Our productivity is shaped by our habits, so it's important to be mindful of what we're doing and choose habits that will benefit us. Systems can help us be more productive by taking away the need to make decisions or reinvent the wheel every time we do something.
I hope you find this information helpful and that it allows you to lead the way, her way.
In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. How our habits shape our productivity
2. How energy levels affect our ability to focus and be productive
3. How systems can give us back our freedom

Chapter Summaries:
[00:01:15] - Last week, we went through the first three pieces of the puzzle: clarity, the scientist mindset, and being a person of integrity. This week, we're looking at the remaining three: energy, habits and systems. The six areas fall under the framework:. Who do I need to be? How do I work? And what do I do?
[00:02:35] - Energy is one of our most precious resources. We need to protect our energy and work with the natural rhythm of that energy. Get the sleep, eat the foods that give you energy and do the exercise. Work with our energy rather than against it. Think about when you are naturally most awake.
[00:08:13] - Habits are important because they affect our productivity and stress levels. It's important to be mindful about what you're doing, and cataloging your habits is a good place to start the phone, picking up, drinking coffee and going for a run are some of the habits that can be changed.
[00:11:09] - Systems are a set of practices and procedures that are applied to specific activities to achieve a specific result. Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg and others have a system for their clothes, so they wear the same clothes every day. System gives you back your freedom and gives your brain more space for creativity.
[00:14:40] - If you have a couple of minutes to rate and review the podcast, I'd really appreciate it.
