今天邀请到的是来自CMU MIIPS的学长Mitchell。Mitchell的工作经历非常丰富,来美国之前,他就在索尼、蔚来汽车、Oppo等多家公司工作过,从工业设计到用户体验设计,他也是我见过的极其重视craftmanship和视觉的设计师之一。从CMU毕业的第二天,Mitchell就拿到了硅谷Tesla的offer,之后一年多的时间里就一直在Tesla高强度的工作环境中“打怪升级”,我也是在今年二月的时候面试Tesla的暑期实习认识的Mitchell。虽然我们是同龄人,但他已经是我的面试官了!

没想到那次面试之后没多久,Mitchell就经历了Tesla的大裁员。然而在我还在担心他签证怎么办、小心翼翼地询问他近况的时候,他居然已经手握包括亚马逊在内的5个offer、在纠结要不要搬家了!此情此景,我只想说,是我多虑了... 好奇他经历的小伙伴一定要听一听这一期节目哟!

大家好呀!断更两个多月之后,我们终于回归了!这次邀请到的是微软的产品设计师Serene Deng。

我们是从一篇题为“27岁赴美留学,32岁的我怎么样了?挺好的!”的小红书帖子开始认识她的。

这篇文章里她写了自己从清华美院毕业后进入珠宝设计领域,几年后又转行交互,27岁出国读研,发现第一个研究生学位不能达到理想的目标,果断放弃读了三分之二的学位,转学到SCAD,在SCAD期间从Unpaid实习做起,一步步积累经验和作品,最终在2020年激烈的市场环境下毕业就进入微软工作。听上去是一个大女主爽文剧本,但是熟悉北美当下情形的我们都知道每一步有多少困难和焦虑做伴,又有多少苦尽甘来的欣喜。
