| Why do women's health and nutrition differ from men's? Dr. John Lewis joins me to discuss | 21 Jan 2026 | 00:21:55 | |
We would love to hear from you. Click here and let us know what you thought of this episode. Nutrition and fitness expert Dr. John Lewis says there are many questionable marketing practices when it comes to women's health. The dairy industry is a prime example of that. While cow’s milk is high in calcium, it is also high in protein and low in magnesium, making the calcium from dairy food poorly absorbed. Visit drlewisnutrition.com John E. Lewis, Ph.D. is the Founder and President of Dr Lewis Nutrition® and past full-time Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and now Voluntary Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is also a Diplomate, Faculty Member, and Advisor of the Medical Wellness Association. He has been the principal investigator of over 30 different studies in his research career. | Raising the Alarm: Contaminants in Girl Scout Cookies Signal Bigger Food Safety Issues | 10 Mar 2025 | 00:27:18 | |
We would love to hear from you. Click here and let us know what you thought of this episode. I had a great conversation with Dr. Michelle Perro about the New MDS (Moms, Doctors, Scientists) who have initiated an extensive Food Testing Program to test for a variety of toxins in America's foods. Their most recent testing has uncovered alarming levels of toxins in Girl Scout cookies. Unfortunately, the testing results for the cookies indicate alarming levels of known neurotoxins and carcinogens and The New MDS are pressing regulators and companies for nontoxic and nutrient-dense foods. Concerned by the epidemic of chronic disease in our children today, and inspired to take action by their own formative years as Girl Scouts, consumer advocates pediatrician Dr. Michelle Perro, MIT Sr. Research Scientist Dr. Stephanie Seneff, and Moms Across America founding Exec. Dir. Zen Honeycutt have taken the initiative to commission testing for contaminants in our commercial food- in our children's food, particularly. Together, their organizations, GMOScience and Moms Across America, have tested everything from school lunches, fast food, baby food, infant formula, and gluten-free products. Results have been alarming across the board. Today, their coalition, The New MDS (Moms, Doctors, Scientists) has released the results of testing of Girl Scout cookies for toxic metals and glyphosate/AMPA (an herbicide and its byproduct). The levels of toxicants found in America's favorite cookies are disturbingly high. More importantly, they are a clear measure of the toxic substances that are contaminating the majority of our food supply through unsafe farming practices or during processing and a call to action for the Girl Scouts to be part of the solution.
