Beyond the Pursuit of Happiness | Jeff Golden (EP10)10 Mar 202500:53:33

What if true happiness isn’t found in material wealth but in something far more profound? In this thought-provoking episode, I spoke with Jeff Golden, author of Reclaiming the Sacred, to explore his decade-long journey of gathering wisdom from psychologists, activists, saints, and poets. Jeff shares how his diverse life roles have shaped his understanding of joy, presence, and interconnectedness. Together, we examine why happiness has declined in industrialized nations despite increasing prosperity, highlighting the vital roles of relationships, health, and self-acceptance. The discussion weaves through spiritual traditions, from Christianity to Taoism and Buddhism, offering insights on how reconnecting with nature and our inner selves can lead to deeper fulfillment. A rich and inspiring conversation that challenges societal norms and invites us to redefine what it means to truly thrive.

Redefining Success Beyond City Life | Claire Denault (EP05)24 Feb 202500:46:51

What happens when the high-paced glamour of city life loses its shine? In this episode, I’m joined by my friend, Claire Denault, a second-generation homeschool mom and public speaker, who shares her transformative journey from the opulence of Dallas to the quiet, intentional living of a small North Carolina town. We explore her unique upbringing on a hobby farm in upstate New York, her quest for excitement in the city, and her ultimate realization that true contentment lies in simplicity. A passionate advocate for homeschooling and strong family connections, Claire challenges the modern rush for “more” and makes a compelling case for slowing down, tuning in, and embracing a life rooted in what truly matters. Whether you're a parent, a city dweller contemplating change, or simply curious about a different way of life, this episode will leave you inspired to rethink the choices that shape your daily world.

In this episode, I spoke with author, Whitney Lowe to discuss her new book, Set Your Eyes Higher, a devotional designed to help young women navigate life through the lens of faith and abundance. Together, we delve into how shifting from a scarcity mindset to one rooted in God’s provision can transform the way we approach consumerism, minimalism, and the true meaning of fulfillment. Whether you’re seeking a deeper connection with God or looking for ways to simplify your life, this conversation is full of encouragement to set your sights on a higher purpose.

About Whitney |

Whitney Lowe is a Christian influencer who wants to see young women excited about God’s work: in the Bible, in history, in the world, and in themselves. She writes and creates on Instagram at ScribbleDevs, a project born from the realization that young women simply do not interact with the Bible enough to be changed by its truth. Whitney is passionate about disrupting the toxic scroll of social media with hope, peace, and light straight from Scripture. She lives in Denver, Colorado, with her husband—a pastor—and their two young children.

Breakthrough Strategies for Whole Child Development | Stephanie Krauss (EP366)26 Nov 202400:38:57

Raising kids in today's volatile world is no small feat. Join me for an insightful conversation with Stephanie Malia Kraus, author of 'Whole Child, Whole Life: Ten Ways to Help Kids Live, Learn, and Thrive.' Stephanie shares her experience as an educator, social worker, and mom, discussing her holistic approach to parenting during these ever-changing times. This episode will help you to discover ways to handle modern parenting challenges and learn how simple practices can profoundly impact the health and happiness of your family.

About Stephanie |

Stephanie is an educator, social worker, and mom of two school-aged kids. Through her experiences teaching and running a school, she knows getting young people to succeed academically does not always mean they are thriving or ready for adulthood. This was true in my own life. As a high school dropout, I needed people and opportunities within and beyond school to help me succeed.

Today Stephanie works at the intersections of education, youth development, workforce development, and human services. Her work and writing focus on what young people need to build lives and futures they love.

Stephanie is the founder and principal consultant of First Quarter Strategies LLC, a senior fellow for the CERES Institute for Children & Youth at Boston University, a senior advisor for Children's Funding Project and Youth-Nex at University of Virginia, and a staff consultant for the Youth Transition Funders Group.

She has written two books: Whole Child, Whole Life: 10 Ways to Help Kids Live, Learn, and Thrive and Making It: What Today's Kids Need for Tomorrow's World. Her work and writing have been featured on NPR, PBS, US News, EdSurge, Scary Mommy, and more.

Going Deeper: A New Way to Teach Sports | Mike Schroder14 Nov 202400:25:27

Going Deeper episodes will be less structured with a more conversational tone. These conversations will focus on interesting people I've come across that share similar values, perspectives and intentions expressed on the Minimalist Moms Podcast.

Today, I’m thrilled to be joined by Mike Schroder, the founder of Future Fans—a brand focused on helping kids connect with and enjoy sports. Mike’s journey started with a simple goal: he wanted to bond with his kids over sports but found that teaching them about football wasn’t as easy as he’d hoped. So, he created Future Fans to make learning about sports fun and engaging for kids. In our conversation, Mike opens up about the ups and downs of that journey, the power of intentional parenting, and how sports can bring families closer together. Plus, he shares the unique way Future Fans makes sports education accessible and enjoyable for young learners.
