| 241 - Cherries Have NEVER Left Goodison Park Happy, BUT... | 30 Aug 2024 | 00:28:19 | |
There are reasons to be optimistic this Saturday, as Cherries visit Goodison Park for the last time ever. Yes, it's not a place where we have much joy, but the way we are playing suggests we have MORE than a chance against Sean Dyche's spluttering side.
Tom and Sam are the The Queens Park for the BIG match preview! If you can help us in our plans with the QP, then please follow the link below:

| 240 - Lets All Laugh At Bournemouth (Newcastle VAR Review) | 26 Aug 2024 | 00:53:45 | |
Saturday evening saw VAR thrust into the limelight again as Bournemouth's winner against Newcastle United at Dean Court was deemed to be handball. The media didn't see it, the Bournemouth players didn't see it, the Newcastle players didn't see it, but 100 miles away in Stockley Park, the "t***ts in suits* DID.
In this brutal review, Sam, Tom and Neil tackle yet another match weekend where PGMOL, VAR and IFAB lead the top stories.

| 142 - Rovers Return... With Three Points | 14 Dec 2021 | 01:06:41 | |
A resurgent Blackburn Rovers came to Dean Court full of confidence after their incredible run of games, and they continued that form thanks to a goal either side of half time.
Indeed, a dispirited AFC Bournemouth failed to make inroads against a well drilled and well-organised Tony Mowbray team - and this left the Cherries just three points clear of third - ouch!
Sam, Jeff, Tigz, Tom, and Neil get together to work out the hows, what’s and why’s - as, despite the 2-0 home defeat, it was the manner of the performance that was more concerning, with a lack of intensity and flair which has served us so well for large parts of the season. Just what went so wrong?

| 141 - Five Seconds In Fulham | 07 Dec 2021 | 01:03:52 | |
Fulham was always going to be a tough game wasn’t it? Form, momentum, injuries - everything seemed to dictate a home win, but despite the confidence from the home side, it was Cherries that stole a march on their rivals with a superb set-piece routine from the second half restart, but frustratingly, Tosin's late header ensured the top two shared a point.
In this pod, Sam and Tigz return to dissect Friday's draw with the Cottagers in the capital - as we look through some highs and lows from that performance, as well as a look forward to the fixtures ahead... how many points do we want before Christmas?
Plus, a word on Scott Parker - were the Cottagers motivated that little bit more because of his swift exit? And were they right to warn us about "Parkerball" given the fact we sat on our lead so soon after scoring?
We've never seen so many fans hate on their previous manager so much, so much so we can currently hear the angry keystrokes from Putney all the way from Poole more than we could their fans on the night when we was there in person - there’s really a lot of bitterness there isn’t there? Sam and Tigz explore his tactics and the effect he has had on supporters of his former club.

| 140 - Two from Nine? Eek! | 29 Nov 2021 | 00:49:43 | |
Cherries form recently hasn't been the best. With a loss at Derby, followed by a couple of frustrating draws where we've let the lead slip on both occasions, Boscombe are showing a vulnerability to their game which other teams are exploiting. Do a couple of injuries really upset the applecart that much? Apparently so! On this pod we take in some raw reaction from recent matches.
Firstly, Sam Davis managed to grab some Cherries fans willing to react at full time, after watching their side capitulate in the second half against a determined Derby County side who overturned a half-time deficit to consign AFC Bournemouth to their first away defeat of the season.
Later in the week, Bournemouth earned a draw at The Den on Wednesday night in a game of few chances against a Millwall side that was arguably looking the stronger as the game progressed. Despite Dom Solanke's first half opener, ex-Cherry Benik Afobe capitalised on defensive hesitancy to secure a point against the high-flyers. Tom and Sam spoke on the train on the way back...
Plus, Tigz gauged the raw reaction at full time after Coventry City scored two late goals to deny ten-man AFC Bournemouth the chance to overtake Fulham at the top of the Championship...

| 139 - Bounce-back-ability? Check! | 08 Nov 2021 | 00:56:58 | |
After Cherries suffered their first defeat of the season on Wednesday night against a stubborn and clinical Preston North End, all eyes were on the visit of Swansea on Saturday - with a reaction needed against a team that often provide us with a stiff test both home and away.
In the weekend, the Lilywhites won 2-1, thanks to goals from Ben Whiteman and Ali McCann, which sandwiched a Philip Billing equaliser.
The loss also brought Scott Parker's side's five-match winning run to an end and cut their lead at the top of the table to two points as his former club Fulham recorded an impressive 7-0 win at Blackburn.
On Saturday though, Boscombe weathered an early spell of possession from the visitors to break them down with a Dom Solanke opener. But with Dom netting another, and Jaidon Anthony also popping up with a brace in the second half - Bournemouth increased the gap on third placed West Brom, who could only manage a score draw with Middlesbrough.
On this pod, Sam Davis chats to Mr Tigz and Neil Dawson to discuss the game.

| 138 - Insert Biscuitmen Crumbling Pun Here... | 02 Nov 2021 | 01:10:51 | |
Cherries carried on their unbeaten run at the weekend with Reading being the latest victim after a 2-0 win at the Madejski Stadium, one which had punmasters across the South scrabbling for Royals and Biscuit related jokes to jazz up their otherwise formulaic articles - Bournemouth start slow, Bournemouth get a foothold in the game, Bournemouth win the game...
Join Sam Davis, Tom Jordan, Neil Dawson and Mr Tigz, as they take you through the weekend's action. Cherries were both resilient and then dominant at the Madejski Stadium with Dom Solanke and Jamal Lowe popping up with goals either side of half time, but at what cost does the victory come? With players hobbling off the pitch and plenty of early substitutions, how will this leave the side ahead of a tricky home test in the week against Preston?
The show also includes a chat with League of 72's Simeon Ghloam and Cherries boss Scott Parker.

| 137 - Terrible Terriers Dom-inated at Dean Court | 26 Oct 2021 | 01:12:07 | |
This weekend, Boscombe comprehensively took apart Huddersfield 3-0 at Dean Court, and as a result, Cherries sit atop the Championship, with a five point gap over Fulham.
Bournemouth put in a shift, and Scott Parker’s class of 2021 have now equalled a long-standing club record as Dominic Solanke’s first-half double provided the springboard for a 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town.
Victory, cemented by Lloyd Kelly’s first goal of the season, extended to 14 games the Cherries’ unbeaten start to the season, a feat achieved in 1961 when the club were in the third tier.
Sam Davis, Tom Jordan, Neil Dawson and Mr Tigz take you through the weekend's action.

| 136 - A Cold & Rainy Tuesday Night In Stoke | 20 Oct 2021 | 00:55:47 | |
Sam Davis and Jeff Hayward spend just under an hour looking at two very different performances over the last few days as AFC Bournemouth gained maximum points from our trips to Bristol City and Stoke City.
This includes a certain hat-tip to a reporter of the latter club, whose report on the game - it's fair to say - won't win any literary awards!
Don’t let the result fool you, AFC Bournemouth absolutely annihilated Bristol City today in a performance which exuded control and class - as the Robins were beaten 2-0 at Ashton Gate, and with Dom Solanke being clinical at the Bet365 - it was six points from six on the road!
There is stats, praise, and wonderment and ponderment - as Boscombe go clear at the top of the Championship - you love to see it!

| 135 - The Goalscorer's Dad | 11 Oct 2021 | 00:59:36 | |
In our last league game, Bournemouth overcame a deficit for the first time this season as Solanke and Billing netted inside three minutes to ensure that Boscombe go top of the table at a rain-soaked Dean Court against Sheffield United.
Fans were nervously optimistic despite the bore-draw against Peterborough, and in the pub beforehand, 2-1 seemed to be the fashionable scoreline. True to form, Bournemouth delivered - and whilst Solanke's penalty levelled things up, Billings effort effectively killed the game. When Phil Bill scores, Cherries do not lose!
In this podcast Sam Davis speaks with Neil Dawson, Jeff Hayward, Mr Tigz and Tom Jordan about the crucial win.
Plus, Jeff Hayward chats to Marc Billing, father of AFC Bournemouth BALLER Philip in this candid interview about being a parent of a professional footballer.
What's it like being the parent of a player that has overcome tough times to stick it out and then go on to tear it up in one of the most popular leagues in the world? What's it like to see your son getting criticism, is it hard to bite your tongue? And does he feel when the crowd are singing his name and loving every minute of seeing him in action?
We talk to him about Philip's rise in football, the social media criticism, the amount of input he has with his moves, and the pride he feels at seeing his son succeed.

| 134 - Hatters and Handbrakes | 27 Sep 2021 | 00:50:35 | |
Bournemouth survived a second-half fightback to defeat Luton Town 2-1 to return to the Championship summit, so in this pod, Sam Davis and Mr Tigz get together to chat over the weekend's antics - as resilience and steadfastness were once again key to retaining the top spot!
As has happened in recent home contests against Blackpool and QPR, Cherries took a comfortable-looking 2-0 lead into half-time at Vitality Stadium. However, the second half was anything but... So why? Why do we do it to ourselves?
The boys dissect the game, talk about Dom Solanke's goal celebration vs other iconic Cherry post-goal merriment, plus we question why Scott Parker seemingly likes to apply the handbrake when we are cleaerly demolishing teams!

| 133 - Iechyd Da - We're Top Of The League! | 20 Sep 2021 | 00:57:43 | |
The match against the Bluebirds at the Cardiff City Stadium was always going to pose a unique challenge For The Cherries, not least because the majority of their side were over 6ft - but enough of that tall story, because a Mick McCarthy side is always going to well drilled, work hard, and they’ll also be dogged.
So to be able to get three points of the Welsh side would be massive, and whilst most of us were hoping we’d be chinking our glasses in celebratory mood with a "Iechyd Da", many Boscombe fans admitted that they’d actually be fairly content with a point.
But Bournemouth showed a side to their game they should be really proud of as we created a host of chances in a clinical and formulaic display, and when you look at the way the home side were stunted, people of a certain tactical mindset might look back at this game as the performance of the season so far.
In this podcast, Sam Davis is joined by Tom Jordan and Jeff Hayward to discuss events in South Wales as the Cherries came away with an excellent 1-0 win.

| 230 - Iraola Extends, And So Have We... | 14 May 2024 | 00:57:31 | |
Cherries fans couldn't hide their excitement on Monday as the news was announced that Andoni Iraola signed a contract extension at Vitality Stadium, signalling his intent to continue Bill Foley's vision at Vitality Stadium until the summer of 2026. The ripple effect of the signing could be huge, for a number of reasons.
In this podcast, Sam and Tom go over the weekend's loss against Brentford, a match which, whilst disappointing, enabled Cherries fans to celebrate a record-breaking season for the Premier League club.

| 132 - Plenty To Like As Tykes Out-Psyched | 13 Sep 2021 | 01:04:35 | |
After a number of draws, AFC Bournemouth got back to winning ways at the weekend - as they managed to wrecked the Tykes - psyche, in an accomplished display of control, flair, and hunger.
The 3-0 dispatching of Barnsley was one of those performance that you could purr at - indeed, it was purr-fect.
If we were to be picky we’d probably be recording this suggesting that we should have won 10-0, but with a trio of goals at the Vitality, with two from our left back extraordinaire, it made September 11th 2021 a very good day indeed!

| 131 - To Hull And Back | 30 Aug 2021 | 01:01:03 | |
A chance to analyse the weekend's 0-0 at the MKM Stadium in Hull as AFC Bournemouth failed to display their attacking prowess, and instead, took part in a rather mind-numbing match against a side who were well organised, but equally impotent.
It was a "Hull" of a journey as Boscombe fans traveled in their numbers up to East Riding of Yorkshire to face the Tigers - where we hoped that we would be able to maul them and leave them feeling far from "Grrreeeeat" - alas, the away side had little bite.
In this podcast, Sam Davis is joined by Keith Thomas to discuss the events in Kingston-upon-Hull, plus we hear from Daniel and Filippo with some overseas opinion.

| 130 - Boscombe Shock As Blackpool Rock | 23 Aug 2021 | 00:45:40 | |
Despite a mesmeric first half against our Seaside rivals on Saturday, Bournemouth were made to pay for a lacklustre second 45 as Blackpool clawed a draw from the jaws of defeat in a three minute spell which saw them take advantage of two moments of poor defending.
In this podcast, Sam Davis speaks to Tom Jordan as they dissect the full game at Dean Court - how are they feeling? What's the immediate reaction? Is there any need to start worrying?
If the shoe was on the other foot and we had drawn both matches away and won both our home games, there wouldn't be the despondency - but you can see it from both sides - we NEED to win matches like that! So, where were the problems, and what needs to be improved? Join us for 45 minutes of Cherry chatter.

Sam Davis is joined by Tom Jordan and Neil Dawson as they dissect Saturday's encounter at the City Ground in Nottingham where the Cherries overcame Forest in a tense 2-1 victory.
AFC Bournemouth sported the green kit and left the Tricky Trees in trouble as ten-man Cherries ground out the win to secure our first win of the season thanks to strikes either side of the half from Brooks and Billing!

| 128 - Bagging A Draw | 09 Aug 2021 | 01:14:13 | |
The 2021/22 season started at home, with all of the world able to watch our curtain-raiser against West Brom, a match which obviously Sky thought could be tasty - two sides with new managers, two sides with different reasons for being exasperated at the end of last season, plus, with both teams driven and determined as ever to get back to the big time - what could be better?
In this podcast Sam Davis, Tom Jordan, Neil Dawson and Kirk Tovey discuss the match, in which West Bromwich Albion pegged back Bournemouth twice in an entertaining draw at Dean Court in front of a capacity crowd.

| 127 - The Benefit of Hindsight | 10 Jun 2021 | 00:59:04 | |
This week, Kris Temple from BBC Radio Solent released a chat with Bournemouth Chairman Jeff Mostyn, the first time he has chatted at length for four years. Mostyn sounded re-energised, he sounded motivated, and he didn’t sound fearful about the club’s future. Some fans are still asking questions, yet some are content - and in this podcast, we chat over what we learned from the Chairman’s chat in the company of Sam Davis, Jeff Hayward, Tom Jordan, and BBC Radio Solent's Kris Temple. Jeff was spoken as ever, and he sounded focused, plus, he provided an apology of sorts, an explanation on managerial appointments, dismissals, and the search for a new manager… is it Scott Parker? Sources suggest now that he is NOT close to joining the Cherries, but why would he join anyway? Are we giving this another spin? The boys chat over the potential appointment and ponder what he could bring to the club. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to all our platforms. | 126 - Play-Off Post-Mortem | 24 May 2021 | 01:14:04
So then, another season in the Championship! Last season, we were disappointed with being relegated from the Premier League, but we were perversely excited to experience the Nottingham Forest away, trips to antiquated but brilliant stadiums like Kenilworth Road, London away days on the train, mammoth northern trips, and even booze-fuelled trips across the Severn Bridge - and of course, no VAR. Did we get to experience that? No. Well, good news folks, next season - we will get to actually do that - albeit not in the way we wanted. This show comprehensively dissects Saturday's defeat to Brentford and kickstarts a wider conversation on all things AFCB - where do we go from here?? | 125 - Squeaky Bum Time | 19 May 2021 | 00:58:17
It was very much a nerve jangling time at Dean Court on Monday, but the win against Brentford showed a lot of desire, a lot of discipline, and even at times a little bit of swagger - so with the hoodoo against Brentford broken, will it stay broken?
Sam Davis, Jeff Hayward, Tom, Jordan and Neil Dawson discuss events at Dean Court. We of course are all hoping that it is not a false dawn, as there is still huge cause for concern. The injuries we’ve got, the angry reaction we might get from the Brentford players, the thousands of Bees fans who’ll be packed into their new ground… it’s far from over.
But let's play the facts bare - we know our squad has got quality written all over it. We know that when the squad wants to perform - it can. We know that when everyone is playing to the best of their ability - Bournemouth get results. We also know that when there are no individual errors and there is a diligence on the ball - we are so much better.

| 124 - Are We "Derren Brown-ing" Them? | 09 May 2021 | 01:00:55 | |
AFC Bournemouth limped over the finish line against Stoke City in a display which has single-handedly managed to erode any optimism ahead of a Play-Off Semi-Final against an in-form Brentford. On this show, Sam Davis, Jeff Hayward, Mr Tigz and Neil Dawson dissect the game with vigour and determination - well, *someone* had to put in a shift this weekend. Last week after Wycombe, Woodgate was almost flippant in his post-match interview. This week, he says: "we'll give it our best shot" - a far cry from the buoyant figure that stood before us during our seven game unbeaten spell. Are the Derren Brown-esque mind games starting already? In this pod we analyse the Stoke game, find out what went wrong and what needs switching, plus we question the heart and desire that seems to dissipate throughout the side when certain key players are not at the races. And what of Brentford? What will they be thinking after being confident of facing Barnsley or Swansea in the semis? Bournemouth are underdogs, but will that work in our favour, and do they think that? And how heavy will their notorious "bottling" be playing on their minds? | 123 - Am I Bovvered | 02 May 2021 | 00:55:59
As Catherine Tate once said: "Am I Bovvered?", and reading between the lines, that was the message that was gleaned from most of the post-match Cherry soundbytes - so despite our 1-0 loss at Wycombe on Saturday, the feeling of concern from the fans perhaps isn't quite empathised by the staff of AFC Bournemouth! It was a turgid showing - a much-changed side, which gave the Chairboys the impetus to put in an excellent performance, full of grit and desire, twinned with an early wonder-strike which would grace any Goal of the Month competition. The concern for Bournemouth fans is "loss of momentum" and the perceived lack of squad depth. Not many of the stand-ins particularly put in shifts which could give Woodgate a selection headache, with Roro potentially being one of the exceptions - so how are we feeling ahead of the end-of-season lottery? Sam Davis is joined by Jeff Hayward, Tom Jordan and Mr Tigz to analyse the game, and to talk about our likely potential semi-final clash against Swansea. The fun, and nervousness, starts here! | 229 - What Did Dom ACTUALLY Do Wrong?! | 07 May 2024 | 01:00:18
This weekend, Bournemouth were outclassed, yet fans left the Emirates feeling outraged! It was clear to see that Arsenal were imperious. They were superior in every department, and the result against Cherries did not flatter them. They dominated us, their xG was better, and they created way more chances.
However, two decisions at the weekend frustrated Bournemouth fans, even raising the eyebrows of Gooners alike. A disallowed goal for the Cherries and a penalty that was gifted after a "challenge" which was unnaturally initiated by Kai Havertz proved to be the talking points of yet another poor weekend for VAR and the PGMOL.
Sam and Tom discuss ALL the VAR controversy whilst respecting Arsenal's dominance, and yes we do also mention THAT Ryan Christie challenge...

| 122 - Turn It Off And Turn It On Again | 26 Apr 2021 | 00:59:24 | |
After Bournemouth's magnificent seven wins in a row, Brentford were the visitors to Dean Court on Saturday, and whilst Cherries were After Eight, it was the 10-man away side that were mint - with a display of resilience that will be morale boosting and confidence inspiring. For Cherries, it enables us to reset - the equivalent of turning it off and turning it on again - so maybe this loss might just be what is needed to enable everyone to refocus? We know now the Play-Off contenders... Boscombe are joined by Swansea, Barnsley and Brentford in the play-off lottery - one which that culminates with a Wembley jamboree on May 29th, so in this pod.... Sam, Tom, Neil and Tigz get together to discuss the runners and riders, as well as the home humbling at the hands of the Bees - will Thomas Frank's charges now consider themselves the favourites for promotion to the Premier League - do they now have the psychological edge? We go through and discuss our thoughts on the play-offs, analyse the opposition, plus we play out the results of this season's campaign, giving you an EXCLUSIVE on who Cherries will face in the semi-finals! | 121 - The Joy of Six | 18 Apr 2021 | 00:59:33
The last time AFC Bournemouth won six in a row, we were promoted to the Premier League. Can we?! Well, the Cherries came away from Carrow Road with a 3-1 victory against Norwich City in a match which saw a number of talking points - one of which was a sending off for the home side, a decision which had a select number of Canaries fans up in arms. Numerical advantage aside, despite a poor early 15 minutes where Boscombe managed to concede a sloppy goal through a Pukki & Buendia combination, the away side dominated the rest of the game, going on to score four, one of which was disallowed! It's fair to say that we've hit form at the right time – and when you've got Arnaut in the side, then we always know that we have always got a bit of Danju-magic that can be produced at any given moment – what a guy! To discuss events we have Sam Davis, Jeff Hayward, Neil Dawson, and Tom Jordan - plus, we look forward to Millwall too! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to all our platforms. | 120 - Ecstatic With Danjumagic | 11 Apr 2021 | 01:04:05
A chance to dissect the weekend's match at Dean Court where AFC Bournemouth managed to dispose of Coventry City 4-1. It was a frenetic start with two early goals, but then it became a familiar affair where the Cherries were spurning golden opportunities in front of goal – but at least we are creating them - which suggests that a corner definitely has been turned! Thankfully Danjuma was the man again, and two goals from him and an assist helped Boscombe romp to a relatively relaxed win over the Sky Blues. Plus, we look forward to our early evening clash against the Terriers. Huddersfield are possibly still smarting after the 7-0 humiliation at Norwich, so can Bournemouth add to their woes? If we do, we've won five in a row! To discuss events we have Sam Davis, Jeff Hayward, Neil Dawson, and Tom Jordan. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to all our platforms. | 119 - Easter Egg-stravaganza | 05 Apr 2021 | 00:58:46
Cherries are honing in on the Play-Offs after two Easter wins, starting off with a 3-1 victory against Middlesbrough at Dean Court - a win that, whilst it saw no change of league position, leaves us on the coat-tails of Reading and Barnsley - who played out a 1-1 draw later that afternoon It was a game of three thirds at Dean Court, where Bournemouth started well before morphing into the formulaic style of dangerously sitting on a lead. Boro did what most teams have done and equalise, before Boscombe somehow found another gear for the remaining third of the game, scoring two... and arguably, they could have netted more. Then on Monday, we faced Blackburn, and secured a 2-0 win in a match which wasn't pretty, but saw the away side convert clinically twice, to see off a team whose form was spiralling out of control. We could have faced a Rovers side determined to put the wrongs right after their defeat to Wycombe, but aside from a silly gifted penalty, their threats were few and far between - but by no means did Cherries dominate - as for large parts we were poor! Work to do, but delighted with the win! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to all our platforms. | 118 - Managed Debt And Cup Regret | 29 Mar 2021 | 01:10:17
Cherries posted a £60m+ loss for the last financial year in some jaw-dropping figures that were released this morning. AFC Bournemouth also posted confirmation that its owner is in to the club to the tune of £160m - a concerning backdrop off the pitch to what has been a fruitless season on it. The cost of Covid has hit hard, but whilst the numbers are fairly similar to other Premier League clubs accounts last season, fans will have a number of questions about the investment going forward, the extremely high percentage of wages vs turnover, and the growing debt that our club seems to accrue… so we’ve tried to gauge the reaction on Twitter this morning and discuss what we've learned - with Sam Davis, Jeff Hayward, and Neil Dawson. Plus, we cannot NOT mention the last football match that AFC Bournemouth turned up to, or more to the point - didn't turn up to. Therefore, with the additional help of Mr Tigz and Tom Jordan, we review the fateful home defeat at the hands of Southampton in the FA Cup Quarter Finals. Also, a big thanks to the guys at Cherries Red Army for supplying the audio sound-bytes too! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to all our platforms. | 117 - We Will Not Be Seduced! | 15 Mar 2021 | 01:02:58
Whilst isolated moments throughout the game might have given rise to rose-tinted optimism from some pundits, many Cherries fans will simply not be seduced by these infrequent passages of play. After yet another 3-2 home defeat, this time to Barnsley, Sam Davis, Tom Jordan, Mr Tigz and Jeff Hayward come together for a cathartic look back at yesterday's match - one which Barnsley fully deserved to win. AFC Bournemouth's style in the first half against Barnsley was questionably regarded as being "champagne football" after a spell where we managed to put a few passes together which culminated in a shot - indeed, the brief moments of joy that Cherries displayed in the first 45 against Valérien Ismaël's men seemed to inflate a biased opinion which left Barnsley fans watching on iFollow both bothered and baffled. Plus, we give a taster of our fully interview with Marc Pugh - who provides an expert insight on what it’s like to be involved in the Play-Offs! Pughie twice managed to avoid them with automatic promotion, but also he was someone who has experienced the heartbreak of losing in them too! | 116 - Cruising and Complacent | 08 Mar 2021 | 01:02:12
Cherries dropped two points at Deepdale on Saturday against an unpredictable Preston North End side in a match which was the archetypal game of two halves. It was a familiar tale of missed chances followed by punishment for our defensive mistakes. The single point leaves Bournemouth 7th in league, outside the play-offs, sitting behind Barnsley, a team who have got one game in hand on us - it's not looking good, but there's time left. In this podcast, Sam Davis, Jeff Hayward, Tom Jordan and Mr Tigz take you through proceedings from Saturday, whilst casting a keen eye forward towards our next clashes which see us entertain Barnsley and Swansea - two HUGE games for us! We also have a ten minute taster of a Youtube exclusive with an ex-Cherries midfielder maestro - a pivotal signing in our first Great Escape season - and a player whose darting runs and crucial goals were instrumental in our survival. Of course, it's the one and only Stephen Robinson! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to all our platforms. | 115 - Harried Hornets Lump on Lerma | 01 Mar 2021 | 01:09:35
Cherries were in free-fall, without a solid performance in a number of games, so a 1-0 win against high-flying Watford ensured that Boscombe fans actually have some hope for the remainder of the season. Whilst Danjuma provided the difference, big Jeff stole the show with a display of gamesmanship that represented that league we've just been relegated from. A solitary Arnaut goal was the difference at Dean Court, in a sun-drenched affair which saw temperatures rise on and off the pitch - with something akin to a Royal Rumble in the closing minutes, which included a couple of sendings off too. It's never dull is it... Today's show provided an extended dissection of yesterday's 1-0 victory against Watford with Mr Tigz, Jeff Hayward, Neil Dawson and Tom Jordan. | 114 - Trust The Process? | 22 Feb 2021 | 01:05:17
World class candidates, an external appointment, exciting CV's - the future is bright - trust the process! The process? Under Eddie, we had a process - and that process was - "Howe will carry us through". Now though, at an Eddie-less AFCB, manager-less Cherries this weekend seemingly made a mockery of the "process" of interviewing - with yet another internal appointment. Nothing against Woodgate, but what on earth was the last three weeks all about? On the pitch, things weren't that much better. We showed a little bit of promise, but altering a flourishing defensive duo and changing to a three meant that we were the architects of our own demise. We as good as gift wrapped Queens Park Rangers with the win as they beat AFC Bournemouth 2-1 at Loftus Road, in a match which encapsulated so much of or season so far. In this podcast, the Back of the Net panel react to the news, plus give their opinions after that away defeat. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to all our platforms. | Eddie Mitchell – My Tenure As AFC Bournemouth Chairman | 19 Feb 2021 | 01:32:01
Being a Cherries fan is never dull, and it certainly wasn’t whilst this person was at the helm of the club. If you wanted a person who could help put the area on the map, this person was your man! Eddie Mitchell was AFC Bournemouth Chairman for just over four years. He arrived with winding up petitions to deal with, and left the club by selling his stake to an owner that provided the financial muscle for Bournemouth to become a Premier League team. Jeff Hayward and Neil Dawson talk to Eddie about: ◽️ Becoming chairman of the Cherries ◽️ Unexpected changing room visits ◽️ Relationships with fellow members of staff ◽️ Sweary Radio 5 Live Rants ◽️ The on and off pitch confrontations ◽️ Eddie Howe insight ◽️ Sagas with Southampton ◽️ What he'd have made of the Premier League era If you're enjoying this show and our other interviews you can help support us by buying us a coffee at http://www.afcbpodcast.com/coffee - we really appreciate it!

| John Bailey – The Clique Of Players He Simply Couldn’t Stand | 19 Feb 2021 | 01:11:31 | |
We’re joined by yet another character in the Cherries calvary by the way of combative midfielder John Bailey - a player that wore his heart on his sleeve, playing 137 games for Boscombe, spanning five season, scoring 13 goals (some of them in friendlies, admittedly), one of which was in the most famous football stadium in the world. He was tough, he got rough, but his tenacity encapsulated the never say die era that most Cherries fans went through at the time. Jeff Hayward and Neil Dawson speak to him about: ◽️ The slippery characters ◽️ A clique of players he simply couldn't stand ◽️ The rule he broke the night before Wembley. ◽️ How he'd have dealt with "The Weasel"

| 113 - A Saturday Snooze | 14 Feb 2021 | 01:00:05 | |
This weekend Cherries travelled to Nottingham to face Forest in a clash against an in-form Hughton side that has been difficult to beat of late - amassing 13 points from their last 18. So with Boscombe arriving in confidence after our Burnley FA Cup exploits, it looked set to be an absorbing affair - in reality, it was anything but. In this podcast, we get raw full-time opinions from Bournemouth fans after the Cherries bumbled to a 0-0 draw at the hands of Forest - scarily, we didn't even register a shot! Also, Tom Jordan is joined by Dan AKA Juron to discuss the individual performances at The City Ground. Ben Pearson made his debut for the Cherries in a midfield comprising Jack Wilshere and Jefferson Lerma - this meant that Tuesday's FA Cup star Philip Billing could only watch on from the bench. Meanwhile, another excellent former from the Burnley game - Sam Surridge - was also benched! Bizarre! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to all our platforms. | 112 - Defensive Holes But Back In The Goals | 08 Feb 2021 | 01:09:25
What a season we're having. Jason Tindall departed the club in the week after a poor run of results for the Cherries. Whilst we had games that some Cherries fans could attend, the majority of us will be returning to a vastly different club - no Eddie, no Jason. It's sad we haven't had the chance to say goodbye to some incredible servants. Despite the risk not working, Jason is still one of them - thank you JT. So it was Jonathan Woodgate that stood in for our home clash against the Blues on the following Saturday. To his credit, he obviously needed to come in and pick up players who have been mentally at a low and players who haven’t had the confidence to express themselves on the football pitch for some time. Whilst the showing was far from perfect, it was one was saw us score goals. In this podcast Sam Davis, Jeff Hayward, Neil Dawson and Tom Jordan take you through the weekend game, before going on to analyse the runners and riders for the managerial vacancy at Dean Court - with a Tier List! | 111 - A Brutal Reality Check | 31 Jan 2021 | 01:00:00
Cherries are sitting sixth in the Championship, but after a series of horrendous performances, the brutal reality is that we are dropping like a stone - unless that is, the team starts to apply themselves. In this pod there is an extended chat about what is going on at AFC Bournemouth after that 3-1 loss to Reading on Friday night with Mr Tigz, Neil Dawson, Jeff Hayward and Tom Jordan. ◽️ What do you think is creating the lack of desire on the pitch? ◽️ Is the Jason Tindall capable of mentally raising these players? ◽️ If players are self-interested and playing for themselves, what do you do to change this? ◽️ Discussion on Dan Gosling's exit to Watford. ◽️ Ben Pearson. What do you know about him? ◽️ Jonathan Woodgate joins the coaching team, what will be bring to the table? ◽️ What will happen if we don’t get promoted this season? | Shaun Teale – The Most Centre-Half Looking Centre-Half | 24 Jan 2021 | 01:21:42
Shaun Teale is a player who many of us idolised for the two and a half seasons that he was with us. Moving from non-league, he made 62 appearances for the Cherries between 1989 and 1992 before joining Aston Villa for £350,000 where he formed an outstanding partnership with Irish international, Paul McGrath. He’s a player who’s been described as "the most centre-half looking centre-half who ever lived", with possibly the biggest calves that some Bournemouth fans have ever seen. Also a star for Southport, Weymouth, Tranmere, Preston, Motherwell, Carlisle amongst others - tonight he is joined by Jeff Hayward and Neil Dawson, who ask the questions about his fascinating career. Includes: ◽️ The Redknapp Run-Ins ◽️ Pinning managers again changing room doors ◽️ Why Big Ron prevented him playing for England ◽️ Villa experiences alongside Paul McGrath ◽️ His current career as a painter and decorator If you're enjoying this show and our other interviews you can help support us by buying us a coffee at http://www.afcbpodcast.com/coffee - we really appreciate it!

| 110 - Cherries Asunder After Referee Blunder | 18 Jan 2021 | 00:59:40 | |
Bournemouth made hard work of the beautiful game against yet another team in the bottom half of the table on Saturday as Luton Town emerged 1-0 winners at Dean Court in a deserved victory where Cherries simply did not do enough. Despite sporadic moments of near-joy, Cherries look disjointed and asunder - a far cry from the Championship winning side of 6/7 years ago. If we're thinking promotion, we might need to think again. It wasn't just Bmth that weren’t at the races, the ref wasn’t either. A diabolical performance from the man in the middle. He drove down from the North East to officiate today - yet more pointless travel over a long distance during Covid, and... just like Dominic Cummings, maybe he needed an eye test too - as he sent off Lerma with one of the worst reds we have seen. Despite that, Cherres kept on trying to walk it into the box, and Luton were clinical when they needed to be. In this podcast, Sam Davis is joined by Jeff Hayward, Mr Tigz and Tom Jordan to dissect the game, plus we hear a snippet of an extended interview which is on Youtube, and will be arriving on your podcast app next week! | Matt Tubbs and Josh McQuoid – Our Good (And Bad) Influences! | 11 Jan 2021 | 01:08:24
Bournemouth has always been a club that has been associated with fast free-flowing football, and as a result of that, we have witnessed plenty of incredible goals over the years from an array of strikers, and on this show - we have a couple of guests that have lots of experience of hitting the back of the net for both Bournemouth and their other respective clubs. They were both born in the South, are both 5 foot 9, and both have played for Cherries in the naughties and 2010’s… Firstly, Matt Tubbs... a player who netted 49 goals in 65 matches for Crawley Town - a ridiculous record! He had a loan spell at the Cherries in 2008 before completing a permanent switch in 2012, and his goals were a crucial part of AFC Bournemouth reaching the Championship! Plus, Josh McQuoid - a player that came through the youth at AFCB after a brief spell at Saints. He made 63 appearances for us, joined the Cherries first team set up in 2006 and his goal-scoring form got better as time went on. In November 2010, he scored a hat-trick for Bournemouth in consecutive home wins, something which evidently created a path for a move away to play Championship football where he joined Millwall! He returned in 2012, was alongside the likes of Franno, Ritchie, Grabban and Fraser up the leagues. An international for Northern Ireland too, he is currently plying his trade at Weymouth. We talk about their footballing experiences, loan moves, dealing with Jimmy Quinn, the Minus 17 era, the influences on and off the pitch (good and bad), the current side, being "rested" on the first game of the season, and much more besides... Asking the questions are Jeff Hayward and Sam Davis. | 109 - Stan's The Man In Snowy Stoke | 03 Jan 2021 | 01:02:00
On Saturday night, Cherries weren’t exactly vintage. A change of formation, two personnel changes, and a familiar frustration for large parts of the game. But Junior Stanislas came good when needed. In this podcast Sam Davis, Neil Dawson, Jeff Hayward and Tom Jordan dissect our performance at the Bet 365 Stadium. Stoke were good at stifling the attacks, whilst not producing a lot of their own. But that said, it felt like they had the majority of the chances in the first half albeit not the clearest. Boscombe had the best opportunity of the second half though… and they took it. Cook fed Junior, and whilst he didn’t have the best of games, he certainly does possess the ice-cold mentality that is required in those situations. We also have a mid-term review of the Championship's runners and riders with Daniel Storey (BBC, Totally Football Pod, PL and Forest fan) - and Nancy Frostick (Sheffield Wednesday reporter for The Athletic and the i Paper) - the full audio of which you can see on Youtube. | 108 - Goalless and Soulless | 20 Dec 2020 | 00:52:43
It was a tough watch at Kenilworth Road on Saturday as Cherries came away with a point from a very well oiled Luton Town side. Cherries looked leggy today against a determined and well drilled Hatters team, and throughout the the game, there was nothing to suggest that the stalemate would ever be broken, and with JT's side looking worn - the game ended in a draw. It was poor to watch, and the lack of composure in the final third was all to prevalent - we got in good positions, but couldn’t convert. What better time then, for a podcast to talk about it?! So, in the final Back of the Net of the year, we hear the opinions of Morgan Scott, Kirk Tovey, and Cherries fan Dom - plus we take in the thoughts of Tom Jordan, who rates the players for the Bedfordshire bore-draw. Finally, we just wanted to wish a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all our followers and subscribers. It has been such a strange and testing year, but we just wanted to say thanks for all your support. Despite the isolation, we've really enjoyed the community buzz during the lockdowns, and whilst it has been great to talk to some Cherries greats, chatting regularly to fellow AFC Bournemouth fans has been more of a privilege. We're taking a break until the start of January, The last audio pod of 2020 is out tomorrow, and whilst there will be isolated content posted on the Youtube channel, the Free-For-All's will return in 2021. | 227 - A Thriller For Villa | 22 Apr 2024 | 00:52:37
Bournemouth’s first half against Villa was cool, controlled, and but for a lapse in concentration in the stoppage time, it would have been comfortable - as most of the hosts early threats were being stubbed out.
With Dom Solanke’s eighteenth goal of the season in the bank - it was looking like Iraola's side would go in 1-0 up, but ex-Red Morgan Rogers had different ideas...
And this seemingly set the tone for a second half, as contrary to pre-match opinion, Cherries were actually the side that looked leggy, with Villa’s quality eventually shining through via goals from Diaby and Bailey - ensuring Emery’s saw off Boscombe with ease.
But where were the problems? Was anyone individually at fault?

Boscombe were rampant against the Terriers on Saturday in a five star performance in front of over 1,000 ecstatic Cherries at the Vitality Stadium in a convincing win over Huddersfield, and in this podcast, we wax lyrical about our five-star performance with the help of Jeff Hayward, Sam Davis, and Tom Jordan. Whilst Jeff and Sam were at home, JT was in the stadium, and it's fair to say he was buzzing. If we wanted the perfect performance to greet the return of fans at Dean Court, that was it. We’ve always known that the home fans can make a difference at home, and the boost that it provided the players in red and black was more than evident against a Huddersfield side that barely looked at threat. We take you through Tom's day at Dean Court with raw audio footage, and input from Kirk Tovey and Paul Kenward too! Plus, as ever, a chronological look through the game in the finest detail possible! | 106 - Watch Us Wreck The Tykes - Psyche! | 05 Dec 2020 | 00:57:51
In a climate where we all need escapism, some will watch Ant and Dec dishing out kangaroo testicles, but us Bournemouth fans favour the bollockings that JT's provides - as, after the home defeat to Preston on Tuesday, Tindall laid down a dingo-dollar challenge to his Cherry charges, which resulted in a dreamy 4 star haul away at Barnsley on Friday night, a supreme victory that ensured we went into the weekend crowned Kings of the Championship. In this podcast, Sam Davis and Jeff Hayward unravel the 4-0 win at Oakwell, a performance where Philip Billing and Sam Surridge excelled, giving the gaffa plenty of headaches ahead of Tuesday's clash with promotion rivals Swansea City. Charlie Starks also made his debut on Back of the Net this weekend, as he joined Tom Jordan to give his ratings on all the Cherries players that graced the pitch on Friday night, so we provide a taster of the kind of remarks the AFCB side gained based on our tonking of the Tykes. Plus, ahead of a Sunday night screening on our Youtube channel, we provide a taster of our interview with Josh McQuoid and Matt Tubbs - both born in the South, both 5 foot 9, and both have played for Cherries in the naughties and 2010’s. | 105 - Cherries Claw Rovram Draw | 29 Nov 2020 | 01:00:33
Start spreading the news... we won't always win every game we play, but at the New York Stadium on Saturday, you can't help but feel as though we were the architects of our own demise! Rotherham were strong, physical, and got in our faces early doors - an obvious tactic which is often used to negate footballing sides. Niggles aside though - the home side gave us a lesson in quality wide delivery, and a 2-2 draw probably was a fair result. In this podcast, Sam Davis, Tom Jordan, Mr Tigz and Neil Dawson discuss events in South Yorkshire, plus we look forward to the visit of Preston on Tuesday, the start of a month which sees eight fixtures - and a period of time which could ultimately determine our fate this season. We also catch up with the latest activity with the Cherries Academy in Uganda, who finally have some kits that have been sent across. Fantastic to see them all sporting their AFCB gear, but.. there is more that we still want to do! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to all our platforms.
