Welcome to Arc PhotoPod, the architectural photography podcast. My name is Jordan Powers. I'm an architectural photographer based in the Southeast United States. And in this episode, I'm sitting down with my good friend Brian Berkowitz. Back in April 2023, Brian and I hosted a commercial and residential architectural photography workshop in Brooklyn, New York. The day before, we got a chance to scout the commercial location so we had some time on our hands so we sat down for about an hour and a half and talked a little bit about his background. Now, you guys may also know Brian as one of the co-hosts of the  @ShootingSpaces  podcast And if you've heard of that podcast and you've heard of Brian, you've probably heard a lot of his stories. So what I try to do in this episode is talk about some things that we don't normally talk about or that you don't normally hear him talking about in those episodes. So we get kind of deep in some areas, but we cover a pretty wide spectrum in this episode. In this episode, I speak with Matthew Anderson. Matthew is a Kansas City-based architectural photographer, AP Almanac contributor, and also runs a successful YouTube channel focused on the business of architectural photography. Matthew was recently in Brooklyn attending the workshop that Brian Berkowitz and I put on. We got together a couple of nights before and hung out for a few hours and sat down in his hotel room and had this conversation. Now fair warning for all of you, this is a very giggly conversation and it's not the normal serious Arc Photo Pod podcast. We do talk about business stuff, but we're just really having a lot of fun on this and it's probably the loosest you'll ever see me. And that's one of the things I really appreciate about Matthew. I think he really has the ability to bring out the lightheartedness in any conversation that's been my experience interacting with him. I certainly appreciated sitting down and getting to know him a little bit better and talking with him in person. With over 30 years of experience in photography, Stephen is a wealth of knowledge and I was fortunate enough to sit down with him in his home to talk shop for several hours and walk away with a newfound appreciation for photography and an eagerness to learn the fundamentals of lighting.

Adam Taylor is an Oahu, Hawaii-based architectural photographer. We just happened to be in LA at the same time so we split the cost of an airbnb and hung out for several days talking shop and about life. So, what do two photographers talk about when they've talked about everything already? Business, of course.

In this episode, I interview Arturo and Lauren. I have known these two for several years and finally had the chance to meet Lauren 2 years ago at PMRE and met Art last year at PMRE. In this inaugural episode, I sit down with world-renowned architectural photographer and meme king, Simon Devitt. Back in March, Simon came from his hometown of Auckland, New Zealand to photograph a few residential architecture projects and I had flown out to assist him. The weather wasn't cooperating so shoots were postponed until later in the week, but I took the opportunity to start a podcast, and Simon was gracious enough to swing by for an hour.
