The long wait is over! After a pandemic and behind-the-scenes battles delayed production, "American Gods" returns for Season 3 on January 10. 

The King Bee and Gene Lyons are back with a look at what's happened since Season 2, who's coming back, and multiple ways to pronounce "Chic Eglee." The Shat Crew also introduces listeners to some new characters, and cautions against ever watching "Marvel's Inhumans."

Season 3 Overview:
The third season of American Gods, based on Neil Gaiman's novel of the same name, premiered on Starz on January 10, 2021, and will consist of ten episodes. Charles H. Eglee adapted the third season, serving as the showrunner after the departure of second-season showrunner Jesse Alexander and original series creators Bryan Fuller and Michael Green after the first season. The season was officially greenlit in March 2019 and production began in October 2019.

The season stars Ricky Whittle, Emily Browning, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Omid Abtahi, and Ian McShane, who all return from the previous season, while Ashley Reyes joins the main cast.

The third season follows Shadow Moon as he moves to Lakeside, Wisconsin under a new name to hide from the New Gods.

American Gods' season two ended with "Moon Shadow," not what we typically expect from a season finale. There wasn't much resolution, heart-pounding action, or massive reveals. And we were left with more questions than answers: Is Mad Sweeney really dead? Why did Wednesday flee? How does the World Tree work? Does Salim own a different shirt?

"Munnin" —episode 3 of American Gods' second season— showed us Mr. Wednesday really is pulling the strings behind many of our favorite characters. It also showed us a different side of Ricky Whittle when Shadow Moon loosened up for juuuust a second.

New Media finally arrived on the scene and wasn't quite what we expected. Then things got REALLY unexpected as she ... interfaced with the god of surveillance, Argus.

Iktomi and Sam Black Crow added Native American viewpoint to the kaleidoscopic cast, sending The King Bee and Gene Lyons rushing into research mode. And we found some interesting stuff.

It's just a bit of fun!

Magic is in the air as we record our loosest American Gods podcast yet. Gene gets the giggles. The King Bee gets WAY geeky about comic books, and listener Kenny P calls in with a choice voicemail. After the end credits, stay tuned for The King Bee's tale of Odin's eight-legged horse, Ol' Slippy.

Season 2's second installment showed us "American Gods" still has a few tricks up its sleeve: Mr. Wednesday painting the modern world in ancient terms, Shadow Moon's flashbacks giving us reasons to care, and maybe even a romance brewing between Laura Moon and Mad Sweeney? (please no)

Dean Winters' Mr. Town fell a little flat. Attempts at comedy widely missed the mark, Brooklyn was a bit too colorful, and Crispin Glover's Mr. World is growing a bit stale. But overall, Season 2 seems to be shaping up as an improvement over its predecessor. Fingers crossed for season 3.
