It’s time for our Top 7! Tonight, we went from 11 hopefuls down to 7. Each contestant performed a Disney classic from their homes to ours. They also prepared special tributes to their mother figures in celebration of Mother’s Day. On our last night of auditions, all of the hopefuls really brought it. We had another first with one audition taking place on a yacht. A lot of the contestants had incredible, unique voices that brought the judges to their feet. We were not shy of tear jerking tales ranging from losing family members to using music to escape harsh realities of daily life. We’re looking forward to seeing all 5 weeks of auditioners get to Hollywood next week! The 4th round of auditions was filled with a diverse set of hopefuls. The episode kicked off with a tall surfer who had absolutely no idea who any of the judges were. We quickly moved forward from this shocking storyline with unexpected, amazing voices and heartfelt life stories. The judges did a lot more coaching tonight in order to bring out the best in each auditioner. They sent a lot of people to Hollywood tonight in hopes that they’ll work very hard to prove themselves more in the second round. The episode ended with two of the best voices of the night; a small town guy that was just fulfilling a promise and a girl that was fighting to get her life back. On tonight’s audition episode we had the full range of emotions.  We had tearjerkers from family tragedy, tenacious hopefuls who wouldn't take no for an answer, and Lionel and Katy superfans We heard a lot of incredible original songs and saw an excellent representation of country music. In the second episode of Season 18, we saw a wide variety of auditions. We heard contestants sing the blues, perform multiple original songs and showcase their unique personal talents. The episode was certainly not shy of tearjerkers including hopefuls sharing stories about losing family members and battling addiction. We had two couples audition together and separately this time around, without everyone getting a “yes” to Hollywood. The judges went through their own turmoil when an unexpected gas leak hit the stage. Thankfully, everyone was safe from the gas but unfortunately not all of the contestants made it to the City of Angels. The premiere episode started off by taking us around the country to meet our new Idol hopefuls. We were introduced to people from a variety of backgrounds including a garbage man, pre-law student, fitness instructor and pizza delivery guy. This episode had its fair share of tear jerking personal stories that kept us wanting to hear more. Each contestant brought their own style and set of talents to show off for the judges.
