EP. 21 Dear NYT: Latinas Are Redesigning the Workplace, Not Ruining It14 Nov 202500:07:28

In today’s solo episode, Evie dives deep into a wild headline from a recent New York Times article: “Did Women Ruin the Workplace?” Yes, someone actually asked that in 2025. But instead of just rolling her eyes (which she does too, let’s be real), Evie flips the script and delivers a fire truth bomb: women didn’t ruin the workplace — we revealed what was already broken.

From uncovering the outdated systems built by and for men to calling out the power of Latina voices in reshaping corporate culture, this episode is both a mic drop and a call to action. Evie gets honest about how asking for your worth isn’t “ruining” anything — it’s rebuilding everything in a way that honors equity, humanity, and self-worth.

Plus, Evie kicks things off by sharing fire listener reviews and how The Págame Podcast is becoming a hub of inspiration for first-gen Latinas navigating career growth, money trauma, and mindset breakthroughs.

What You’ll Hear in This Episode:

  • A powerful response to that viral NYT headline
  • Why asking for equal pay, family leave, and boundaries isn’t ruining — it’s revolutionizing
  • A breakdown of the systems women were never meant to thrive in
  • A reminder that your discomfort in these spaces isn’t your weakness — it’s your wisdom
  • The power of being a disruptor (and why that’s a good thing)
  • Why “being grateful” and “asking for more” can and should coexist
  • Listener love! Evie shares two amazing reviews from the Págame community

In this heartfelt conversation, I sit down with Cande from Siempre Evolving, a Latina life coach and blogger dedicated to self-development, spirituality, and conscious growth. Together, we unpack the deeply rooted narratives that push Latinas into hyper-masculine energy, often leading to burnout, unbalanced relationships, and emotional exhaustion.

Cande shares her transformative journey—from growing up with the belief that she should never rely on anyone, to navigating a long-term relationship where she carried the weight of hyper-independence. We dive into how childhood experiences shaped our ideas of self-worth, relationships, and financial security, and how stepping into our feminine energy isn’t about weakness—it’s about reclaiming balance, trust, and authenticity.

What You’ll Hear in This Episode:

  • How generational beliefs around money and self-reliance impact Latina women
  • The difference between wounded masculine energy and healthy masculine dynamics
  • Recognizing trauma bonds and breaking free from cycles of over-functioning in relationships
  • The importance of rest, reflection, and self-awareness in healing
  • Why feeling “safe” is the foundation for true partnership and personal growth

Key Takeaways:

  • Hyper-independence isn’t strength when it isolates you from genuine support.
  • Healing requires pausing, reflecting, and allowing yourself to feel safe enough to receive.

EP 17 Guided Meditation with Your Inner Niña: Healing Fear and Calling in Aligned Careers08 Sep 202500:39:05

In this workshop-inspired episode, Evie walks you through the powerful practice of reconnecting with your inner niña—the younger version of you who dared to dream big. You’ll learn how healing childhood fears, shifting your mindset, and practicing audacity can help you manifest a career that aligns with your worth and values.

Whether you’re navigating self-doubt, fear of success, or money trauma, this episode will guide you to claim your power, release what no longer serves you, and step into career opportunities that light you up. This is a guided visualization; make sure to find a quiet place to visualize, bring a journal and most importantly, bring an open heart.

What You’ll Hear in This Episode:

  • Why connecting with your inner niña is key to unlocking courage in your career.
  • The role of self-worth and healing in career manifestation.
  • How to move through fear of success, failure, or “being greedy.”
  • Practical tools for shifting limiting beliefs into empowering ones.
  • A guided reflection to step into audacity and align your career path.

Key Takeaways:

  • Audacity is required: Manifesting a dream career means moving with courage, not waiting until fear is gone.
  • Your inner niña already knew: The younger version of you held dreams and truths worth honoring today.
  • Release the old to welcome the new: You can’t manifest aligned opportunities while carrying outdated fears or beliefs.
  • Manifestation requires alignment: It’s not just about vision, but also about daily practices, habits, and beliefs.

Send this to a friend who needs the inspiration to take aligned action in her career.

EP. 16 From Broke to Ballin': How I Took Control of My Personal Finances By Leveraging Salary Negotiations19 Aug 202500:31:49

Have you ever looked at your paycheck, realized you’re making more money than your parents ever did, and still felt broke? That was me.

At 22, I hit a financial rock bottom. My credit score was in the 400s, my bank account was constantly empty, and even though I was earning $50k as an engineer in San Diego, I was living paycheck to paycheck. It wasn’t until a casual comment from a white male coworker about his salary opened my eyes—I was wildly underpaid. That moment was the wake-up call I needed.

By 2015, I decided enough was enough. I went from being broke, overwhelmed, and scared of money to becoming financially empowered, negotiating higher salaries, and building a six-figure investment portfolio by 2019.

In this episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on the exact steps I took to transform my money story, reclaim my financial power, and set myself up for long-term wealth.

What You’ll Hear in This Episode:

  • The wake-up call: how a 450 credit score shook me into action.
  • My 9-step game plan for turning my finances around—everything from auditing my expenses to negotiating my salary and investing consistently.
  • Why financial boundaries matter (especially with family) and how I created mine.
  • The role of mindset + financial education in overcoming money trauma and building wealth.
  • The power of side hustles and brainstorming new streams of income.

Key Takeaways:

If you’ve ever felt ashamed of your finances or wondered how to get started on your wealth-building journey, this episode is for you.

Remember, my friend: asking for your worth is not being greedy—it’s the first step toward financial freedom.

EP. 15 Laid Off at 8 Weeks Pregnant: How Jenn Jamali Turned Career Shock into Financial Power13 Aug 202500:38:49

Imagine being eight weeks pregnant, still in those tender early days of protecting your peace, and then getting the email no one wants: HR meeting — please prioritize.

That’s exactly what happened to my guest, Jenn Jamali — a multicultural career and money coach who, at the time, was working at her dream company, counting on their generous parental leave to support her during her first pregnancy. Instead, she found herself navigating a layoff, severance, and the most vulnerable chapter of her life… all at once.

What You’ll Hear in This Episode:

  • Jenn’s early money story, shaped by watching her mom get laid off when she was a child — and how that shaped her fierce financial independence.
  • The exact moment Jenn knew she was being laid off, and the mental/emotional tools she leaned on to get through it without losing herself.
  • How Jenn recession-proofed her finances before she ever knew she’d need to — and why every woman should do the same.
  • The mindset shifts that helped Jenn see the layoff as a redirection toward building her own business and living in alignment.

Key Takeaways:

Whether you’re in the middle of your own career curveball, feeling anxious about job security, or simply want to learn how to prepare for the unexpected, this episode is packed with strategies and soul. Jenn’s story is proof that you can take a moment that could break you… and turn it into the foundation for your next, most empowered chapter.

Jenn Jamali is a Financial Empowerment Coach helping women and first-generation professionals build confidence with their money, grow their income, and align their finances with their values. With a decade of experience in tech recruiting and a personal journey that includes self-funded maternity leave and investing in real estate by age 30, Jenn blends mindset, strategy, and systems to help others make more, keep more, and feel good doing it

EP. 12 If I Could Give My Younger Self One Piece of Advice03 Mar 202500:13:29

If I could go back and tell my younger self just one thing, it would be this: Asking for your worth is not asking for too much—it’s the new standard.

In this solo episode, I get real about my first-ever salary conversation (spoiler: I didn’t negotiate), the cultural conditioning that made me feel lucky just to get an offer, and the myths that keep so many of us from asking for more. If you’ve ever felt guilty about negotiating, doubted your experience, or thought working harder would eventually get you paid more, this episode is for you.

🔑 In This Episode, We Discuss:
✔️ The mindset shift that changed how I approach salary conversations
✔️ 3 common myths that hold women back from negotiating (and how to break free)
✔️ Why experience isn’t the only thing that gives you leverage
✔️ How gratitude and asking for more can co-exist
✔️ The importance of setting salary boundaries from day one

It’s time to stop settling and start negotiating like the badass you are. Let’s dive in!
