VEGETABLES: a virtual book launch

jeudi 11 juillet 2024 • Duration 54:59

I couldn’t have been happier than to chat with the brilliant Itamar Srulovic of Honey & Co. restaurants, London, about my new book VEGETABLES, in the company of 100 people from around the world who had signed up to join us.

We talked about everything from how I started writing to creating my writing home here on Substack, talking about how the book developed, its structure and got under the bonnet of various recipes from the book.

Due to technical tediums, the video isn’t a split screen of Itamar and I, but for many that will be a merciful relief.

I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

00:00 Introduction plus Substack and Why

07:18 An overview of VEGETABLES and how the idea came about

12:28 Why it is structured as it is

17:33 Getting into the recipes, including flamiche, the joy of salad and more

30:40 The ‘Small Bits’ chapter and how it came about

33:34 Unexpectedly Sweet: Vegetable Desserts

40:06 Q&A: Questions from those guests - eg why isn’t it vegan?

53:28 Final Thoughts and Farewell

My new book VEGETABLES: a virtual book launch

jeudi 6 juin 2024 • Duration 02:34

I’m very excited to be having a virtual launch for my new book VEGETABLES, and I really hope you can make it.

It’s on 25 June 2024, at 6pm UK time.

I’ll be chatting with one of the world’s loveliest people, Itamar Srulovich of Honey & Co, and perhaps with you if you feel like being part if it.

More info in the film above, and all you have to do to come along is click below to register, then the link will be emailed to you.

If you would like to pre-order it (and if so, thank you very much), here are a few places it’s available.

Pour yourself a glass of whatever you fancy and join us if you can.

I hope to see you soon.

Mark
