Royce Alcoser is a former Disney Imagineer known for his remarkable contributions to entertainment and storytelling. Beyond his Imagineering work, he is a talented painter, sculptor, and host of the YouTube channel "Imagine with Royce." His creative journey with Disney began at a young age, quickly making a mark bringing numerous animatronic figures to life in the parks. Royce's experience spans working on various projects, including classic opening day to modern day attractions.

His  process for creating figures, showcased in his YouTube videos, reflects his deep passion and meticulous attention to detail. Royce continues to inspire through his art and ongoing projects, leaving a lasting impact on Disney enthusiasts and aspiring Imagineers alike.

We also have our resident New Orleans local, Jenny, to provide commentary on the authenticity of her city's portrayal. Join Marissa and Kaity as they dive into another episode of "Canceled." This week, they explore the ill-fated Muppet Studios, a planned land at Disney parks that never saw the light of day. In the early 90s, The Muppets were wildly popular, and a merger between Disney and Jim Henson Studios was set to bring an entire Muppet-themed area to the parks. However, the unexpected death of Jim Henson in 1990 halted the merger, and the dream of Muppet Studios vanished.

 The episode covers the exciting details of what Muppet Studios could have been, including a ride, 3D movie, stage show, parade, and themed restaurants. They also discuss the promotional efforts that were planned to integrate The Muppets into Disneyland for its 35th anniversary.

Despite the deal falling through, the hosts reimagine what could have been, designing a new Muppet-themed ride that incorporates thrilling elements and interactive experiences. They discuss how the ride would fit into the existing park layout and bring the charm and chaos of The Muppets to life.

S2 E10: Building Port Disney (Part 1): Overview & Entertainment District28 May 202400:39:27

What started out as an episode of "Canceled" has turned into a new mini-series!  We're journeying back to California, exploring the ambitious Port Disney project announced in 1990. Join us as we reveal the grand vision for a revolutionary waterfront development that would have combined theme parks, resorts, and urban entertainment districts in Long Beach.

You'll hear about the proposed components of Port Disney, from the state-of-the-art cruise port to the Aquarium and Marine Life Center, and the array of themed hotels and vibrant retail districts. Discover the planned centerpiece, DisneySea, a nautical-themed park that would have brought maritime exploration and adventure to life. We'll discuss the project's challenges, from environmental concerns to escalating costs, and the ultimate decision to cancel it.

S2 E9: Disney Skyliner 2.0 (with Johnny J from the DMSW Podcast)20 May 202400:49:45

In this episode, we dive into the history and exciting (hopeful) future of the Disney Skyliner. The Skyliner currently serves four resorts and two theme parks at Walt Disney World. Inspired by the original Skyway gondola system that once connected Fantasyland and Tomorrowland in Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, the Skyliner combines nostalgia with modern innovation. Each gondola features designs with beloved Disney characters, adding an extra touch of magic to the transportation experience.

With the help of Johnny J from the DMSW Podcast, we're thrilled to unveil a new extension and update to the Skyliner. This expansion aims to enhance the transportation system while adding immersive and interactive experiences, similar to the Hogwarts Express at Universal. Redesigned Skyliner cabins will feature state-of-the-art screens displaying themed visuals and character interactions, making the ride an attraction in itself. We’re also introducing air conditioning and solar panels to ensure comfort and eco-friendliness. This new line will connect six additional locations, including Galaxy’s Edge, Blizzard Beach, All-Star Resorts, and Coronado Springs, each offering unique interactive experiences. Join us as we explore these exciting plans to transform the Disney Skyliner into a magical journey across Walt Disney World!

This new section will blend the fun and value of Disney’s resorts with a touch of DVC luxury.

We’ll walk you through the details of Camp Walden, including its themed cabins, exclusive amenities, and exciting activities. From the Great Hall and Mess Hall to the Rec Center and holiday-themed magic, this new addition aims to create a memorable camp experience for guests.
