The System Is a Lie (But You Can Build Your Own)
dimanche 4 mai 2025 • Duration 22:08
I seem to have really gone off the deep when you look at the kind of videos I'm making...but I'm a good swimmer.Look, no human-made system is ever going to outdo the system, the one that governs everything: time, action, consequence, life itself. But that doesn’t stop people from trying. Every self-help guru, productivity hacker, and business coach is out here selling you the system. The one that promises success, clarity, and maybe abs if you just follow it exactly. But here’s what I think the truth is : they didn’t follow a system. They stumbled, stole, remixed, and tweaked their way to something that worked, then they repackaged it to sell to you. This mini-rant is about breaking out of the cycle of dependency on other people’s blueprints and learning how to build your own. Because real system-building isn’t a five-step formula; it’s messy, chaotic, and, most importantly, yours. So if you're tired of searching for the answer and ready to start asking better questions, this might be something you want to watch. If you want to interact more...because we can do that, check out the blog on www.idiotmystic.com, find us on your favorite social platform ( IG, Tik Tok ) or come talk to us on the Discord app where someone is being a person, 24/7. You Already Have a Superpower : Unlock Metacognition
dimanche 4 mai 2025 • Duration 07:17
Did you know you already possess a secret superpower? It’s called metacognition...the incredible ability to think about your own thinking.Explaining metacognition might sound simple, but in my experience facilitating over 1,000 hours of meditation for clients, it's consistently the most life-changing technique I’ve encountered. In this episode ( if that is what these are ) , I try to get as deep as I can in 7 minutes, into what metacognition really is, why it’s your mind’s ultimate hidden skill, and how mastering it can genuinely transform your life.Imagine stepping outside your mind, looking back, and finally seeing exactly why you keep replaying awkward conversations, procrastinating, or spiraling into anxiety. Understanding metacognition lets you do just that, giving you the tools to shift negative patterns, enhance your learning, and make clearer, wiser decisions every single day.You could think of this as your friendly guide to unlocking the hidden superpower you didn't know you had. Grab your headphones, relax into a liminal vaporwave atmosphere, and let's gently explore the fascinating landscape of your own mind.I know it sounds dumb...to think about how you think. But try it.
My Anxious First Time Webfishing : Cozy Gaming Meets Meditation
vendredi 22 novembre 2024 • Duration 12:16
Today, I finally sat down to play Webfishing—a cozy, retro-inspired game where you fish as an anthropomorph in a surreal world. Shoutout to Drew (yes, I have friends) for gifting me the game and to the people gently pushing me to play it. This isn’t just a gameplay video—it’s a window into my slightly anxious, often reflective brain. I’m trying to balance making meditations and sound baths with letting people get to know me better. I also managed to escape a death loop, jump on some mushrooms, and put fish in an aquarium (after way too much trial and error). Fake fishing as a creepy looking cat turned out to be strangely compelling, even if I’m still figuring out how to enjoy gaming without guilt. If you’ve ever felt too anxious to play a video game, or just want to relax with some low-pressure gameplay, come hang out. Let’s see where the digital waters take us. And hey, if you’ve made it this far, try a deep breath—inhale through your nose, hold it, and let it out slowly. 🎣 Webfishing might be fake fishing, but it’s real progress for me. Maybe we’ll fish the web together next time. p.s. Soundbaths and meditations are ONLY on YouTube because Spotify Podcasts doesn't allow distribution of podcasts that are audio only with no talking.
So come stop by the YouTube for the full Idiot Mystic experience. ( whatever that means )
Who Is the ‘I’ Behind All This? A Meditative Journal Reflection | Some Weekend Writing
samedi 9 novembre 2024 • Duration 04:06
"Who am I, really?" It's a question that’s both simple and complicated, and today, I'm journaling my way through it. In this quick reflection, I scribble down thoughts on identity, purpose, and the roles we play in life – father, student, coffee lover – and wonder if there's more to us than the labels we wear. As I write, I ask: Who is this "I" that I keep referring to? Is it just the part of me that has a cold right now, or something deeper? And if you ask yourself the same question, what comes to mind? I figured I'd bring you along on this weekend journaling session as I explore these questions, unfiltered and a bit scattered, because sometimes the simplest writing sessions spark the biggest questions. So, who are you, really? It's nice that you're here by the way, I hope you're doing okay. Good even.
Lost & Found: A 90s Meditation on Nostalgia, Depression, Anxiety & Healing
mercredi 30 octobre 2024 • Duration 03:33
When was the last time you sat with yourself...like really, truly sat with everything you are and everything you've been through? In this video, I think I made some kind of 90s-inspired meditation, a nostalgic journey that touches the deepest parts of your soul and brings you back to the moments that shaped you. Remember the kid who believed in magic, who saw the world as a canvas filled with possibility? The teenager who felt everything so deeply that it hurt? And now, here you are, carrying stories and memories, both beautiful and painful, that you never asked for but have grown into. This meditation reflects on those chapters, especially the moments when you learned that life doesn’t always go as expected, when growing up meant carrying things you never thought you’d have to. Through gentle visuals and a super cool ( at least to me ) soundtrack, let this experience guide you to the quiet resilience that’s kept you moving forward, the strength that’s allowed you to keep breathing, keep feeling, and keep finding beauty in the small things. Dust in the sunlight. Coffee swirling in the morning. The softness in your heart despite every ache it’s felt. Who are you, really? Beyond the face you show the world, beyond the person others expect you to be? This meditation is about sitting with that person, dancing with your shadows, finding acceptance in your story, and discovering a quiet beauty within every scar, every laugh, and every tear. This isn’t what we usually do, but it’s a moment to pause, reflect, and remember: you’re still here, still writing your story, still learning to love the parts of yourself you once thought were unlovable. Press play and join us on this journey down memory lane. You’re not alone in it, and your story is far from over. The Golden Egg Theory: Sustain Creativity, Boost Productivity & Avoid Burnout in Art & Media
samedi 26 octobre 2024 • Duration 10:27
What am I even doing? From meditation to rain sounds to secret societies...I'm just doing what I know I'm supposed to. Isn't that what we're supposed to do...what we're supposed to do? But how do you know what you're supposed to do? There are ways. In this episode ( I think that's what these are ) of Idiot Mystic, I talk about the Golden Egg Theory, a concept that reminds creators to honor their natural creative process rather than succumbing to the pressures of constant output. Inspired by a conversation with my friend Caldinovin (link to his youtube below), this theory uses the metaphor of a goose laying golden eggs—your ideas, your art, your content. These golden eggs represent the best of what you create, but they can't be forced. In today’s unrealistically fast-paced world, driven by social media algorithms and the demand for frequent content, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the pressure to produce more and faster. I talk about my own experience with burnout, how rushing the creative process impacts quality, and how the joy of creating can fade when the focus shifts to output rather than connection to the work. We’ll also explore the science ( well a sentence ) behind creativity and how it thrives when given the necessary time to rest and recharge. Drawing inspiration from legendary animator Hayao Miyazaki, we’ll look at the importance of patience in the creative process and why rushing it can lead to burnout. I’ll share some apparently practical advice on how to protect your creative energy, avoid the pressure of perfectionism, and let your work flow naturally. This episode is for anyone who has ever felt the weight of content creation (even any other job) or lost touch with the joy of their craft. Also please check out my friend Caldinovin’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@Caldinovin If this message resonates with you, feel free to share it with others who might need to hear it. And as always, I love hearing from you, so reach out anytime. Until next time, take care of your creativity and yourself. 1 Hour of Soothing Nature & Bird Sounds for Sleep & Meditation | Relaxing Visuals for Stress Relief
lundi 21 octobre 2024 • Duration 01:03:00
Hi. I'm back with another questionably long video. But I think you might enjoy it, unless you hate nature...in which case, we should probably talk. I think you'll be able to relax and unwind with this 1-hour nature sounds video, featuring the peaceful sounds of birds chirping, leaves rustling, and streams flowing. Since ancient times ( I know I say ancient times a lot ), people have found solace in the sounds of nature, using them to meditate, reflect, or simply enjoy the moment. Whether you're looking to reduce stress, improve focus, or enhance your meditation or nap, these soothing sounds will create the perfect ( as close to it as something can be ) calming atmosphere. Research has shown that listening to nature sounds can reduce stress by lowering cortisol levels, boost mood through the release of dopamine and serotonin, and improve concentration by providing a steady auditory background. These natural soundscapes are ideal for meditation, napping, studying, or just taking a moment to breathe and reconnect with yourself. If you're using this video to meditate or nap, try practicing deep, slow breathing: inhale through your nose for about 3 seconds, hold for a moment, and then exhale through your mouth for about 6 seconds. This simple breathing exercise can help deepen your relaxation as you listen to these sounds of nature. 🌿 Some of the MAYBE Benefits: - Stress relief - Improved focus and concentration - Enhanced sleep quality - Emotional balance 🎧 Pro-ish tip: For the best experience, use headphones and immerse yourself in the soothing nature sounds. If you want it to play longer, right-click on the screen and select the 'loop' option but that might be too many bird sounds...I don't know. Enjoy the tranquility and let the sounds of nature bring peace and calm to your day. 🌳 And if you feel like talking about things, come stop our server on the Discord app ( https://discord.gg/dXKjhZrZmM ) or check out www.idiotmystic.com

mercredi 16 octobre 2024 • Duration 08:51
Back with another meditation. The inner child is an important thing. Yeah I guess it is a thing. But lately it's been co-opted by endless hours of therapy and people making into a tragic experience. Of course there is always sadness, wherever there is humanity. But this can be a joyous experience. Let's try it. This is a gentle journey to reconnect with your inner child through a soothing meditation. In this video, you will be guided through calming techniques designed to help you rediscover the joy, curiosity, and wonder that defined your youth. As you relax and breathe deeply, you’ll explore cherished memories and tap into the natural curiosity that resides within you. Sounds a little too good to be true, I get it. This meditation is perfect for anyone looking to explore their inner self, find peace, and reignite the playfulness and joy that adult life can sometimes overshadow. Your inner child is always with you, ready to bring back a sense of wonder and delight into your life. Allow yourself to embrace this journey of self-discovery and healing. I mean...what's the worst that could happen? Oh, this is a picture of a park in Pakistan. I miss it.
