Demetra George and Jason Holley join me to discuss the meaning of Ceres in astrology. Demetra George's book "Asteroid Goddesses" has been the most influential source text on the meaning of Ceres in astrology. Jason Holley has given a number of talks and webinars on Ceres over the years, and he has also been co-facilitating a course with me on Ceres, Chiron and Mercury in recent months.

This is an episode I previously released on my YouTube channel in July 2025 that I am now releasing on my podcast.

Demetra and Jason both share personal experiences and stories in relation to Ceres. We also enter into a more broad discussion about how to bring mythological stories and meaning into your astrological practice, and how sharing mythic stories during astrological consultations can open new understanding and realization.

Demetra has also led many pilgrimages to sacred sites in Greece over the years, and Jason was on one of her tours in 2011. Last year Jason and I also led a pilgrimage to sacred sites in Greece and felt how we were in her lineage of leading groups there to experience the gods in their homeland. We share personal experiences of being at the sites of the mysteries of Ceres/Demeter in Eleusis (Elefsina) and Arcadia. We also talk about the differences between Demeter's mysteries in Eleusis and Arcadia, and the different versions of her story in Eleusis and Arcadia.

The Full Moon in Cancer on 3 January 2026 is ideal for the cultivation of self awareness and gathering insights from the shifting of inner tides in order to formulate goals and plans of action for the year ahead. The Moon is at home in her watery domicile of Cancer moving toward a conjunction with Jupiter located in his exaltation of Cancer.

The cardinal nature of Cancer signifies that the lunation will correlate with initiating new movements of change within currents of fast moving events. The inwardly directed and watery nature of Cancer will accentuate the capacity for the Moon and Jupiter to reveal whatever frameworks, structures, and bonds have been dissolving, with the presence of Jupiter being especially helpful for flexibly adapting longterm vision to reconcile and mediate whatever difficulties and obstacles we are facing.

Yet the lunation is not only about significations of Jupiter such as understanding, reverence, prosperity, generosity, justice, fellowship, and release from bondage – it’s also about the process of death, rebirth, and the liminal process of purification that brings us across the threshold to new life. This is due to the fact that although the Full Moon is moving toward a conjunction with Jupiter, the Cancer Moon is most directly separating from an opposition with Venus and applying to an opposition with Mars, giving central importance to the meaning of Venus and Mars in Capricorn simultaneously ending cycles with one another and the Sun.

Due to Venus and Mars being at the end of their cycles, there will be a necessary confrontation with what is ending, what is dying, and what is being released from the past no longer to return. Yet the tension between the Moon and Jupiter in Cancer with Venus, Mars, Mercury, and the Sun in Capricorn will also activate curiosity regarding how the release of past patterns will nurture and feed the new life and creative directions that will emerge in 2026.

The astrology of 2026 is extraordinarily dramatic, and the speed of change brought by the year will accelerate toward the end of January. Since the astrology suggests incredibly rapid changes and shifting global power dynamics within the first couple months of the new year, taking the time in the first couple weeks of January to clarify the internal and external changes that have been occurring in your personal life will be of the utmost importance.

Adding additional depth to the Cancer Full Moon will be the powerful influence from Chiron in Aries who has an intensified presence due to stationing direct. Chiron will station direct at 22º35’ Aries on January 2, one day before the Full Moon in Cancer, with the Full Moon applying to an activating square aspect with Chiron.

I’m honored to introduce the first guest interviewed on my astrology channel: Rosie Finn, my first astrology teacher. Rosie recently published her book "Persephone’s Revolution: Pluto’s Path to the End of Empire" about the astounding historical patterns she has found with Pluto’s declination cycle, and how we are entering the most extraordinary period of change within it in 2025.

In this video we go through some of the substantial research documented by Rosie in her book and how she has labeled four primary phases of Pluto's declination cycle: a VISION period when Pluto moves from southern to northern declination (goes back to the 1860s in this current cycle), a POWER period of abusive empires when Pluto reaches extreme out of bounds in northern declination (goes back to 1838 to the early 1950s and World War II in the current cycle), a JUSTICE period when Pluto moves from northern to southern declination (goes back to the late 1980s in the current cycle), and then the REFORM period we enter this year when Pluto reaches extreme southern declination.

Incredibly, the next twelve years will be the last time that Pluto goes out of bounds for at least another five thousand years. This means that the last time Pluto was out of bounds in northern declination when World War II happened, a period that correlates with extreme abuse of power by global empires, will never happen again for thousands of years. As a result, Rosie's thorough research offers significant hope for what can emerge in the chaotic astrology of the next decade in ways that go beyond what we can presently conceive.

Pluto is calling from the depths this week. It’s time to listen to messages from the darkness within, subconscious and subterranean realms, making offerings to guardians of the underworld threshold, as Pluto will deliver major messages and revelations regarding our experiences of the Pluto in Aquarius transit. Pay attention to not only what is dying, decaying, and undergoing purification, but also the new life force and desires emerging from within. Pluto can facilitate coming to terms with the essential purpose and path to dedicate and devote yourself to in the year ahead.

From January 19 - 27, 2026 there is a major initiation with Pluto, as Venus, Mercury, the Sun, and Mars will all form conjunctions with Pluto in Aquarius. In addition to the personal rebirth experiences that Pluto will be initiating for each of us, collectively Pluto will also be initiating us into the entrance of Neptune into Aries on January 26. Neptune is entering the fiery home of Mars where the oceanic planet will remain until 2039, with Mars applying to a conjunction with Pluto that will become exact the next day on January 27.

The regenerative conjunction of Mercury with the Sun in Aquarius on January 21, followed by Mercury uniting with Pluto on January 22 will be an especially potent time for attuning to messages from Pluto. Whatever ways you are experiencing processes of death and rebirth, Pluto will put you in touch with the essential elements and values to tend and cultivate that will be intrinsic to your creative direction and greater empowerment.

The New Moon in Capricorn on January 18, 2026 is a potent opportunity to find your center and not only set intentions for the year ahead, but also formulate and follow through on dedicated plans of action aligned with your values and core purpose. We are in the middle of rapid events reshaping the order of global dynamics at breakneck speed, and due to numerous astrological factors involved in the lunar cycle ahead, we can only expect that the speed of change will only increase. This is in part due to Neptune entering Aries on January 26 and Saturn entering Aries on February 13 as they approach their conjunction in the first degree of Aries on February 20, 2026.

As a result, it will be imperative to come to terms with how desires and long-term visions have been reshaped by the dramatic triple conjunction of Venus, Mars, and the Sun (January 6 - 9), and gather the courage, dedication, and will power required to reshape your reality in alignment with what you truly want to create with your work and protect within your community as the pace of change accelerates.

The New Moon in the third decan of Capricorn is separating from a harmonious sextile with Saturn in Pisces and a trine with Uranus in Taurus while applying closely to an imaginative sextile aspect with Neptune in Pisces as well as toward a conjunction with Venus and Pluto in Aquarius. At the same time, Mercury combined with Mars in Capricorn adds intellectual fuel and firepower to whatever you set your mind toward creating.

I'm joined by astrologer Pallas K. Augustine to discuss the meaning of the triple alignment of Venus, Mars, and the Sun in Capricorn during the week of January 6 - 9, 2026. Venus formed a conjunction with the Sun on January 6, followed by Venus and Mars beginning a new cycle on January 7, and then Mars forming a conjunction with the Sun on January 9, with Venus and Mars within one degree of one another and the Sun across all three conjunctions.

It's a powerful week to contemplate your inner values and align your actions in the world with them as we enter the dramatic astrology of 2026. The Venus cycle, the Mars cycle, and the Venus and Mars cycle will all be key players within the astrological alignments of 2026 that will give shape to the year.

We discuss the importance of relating with astrological cycles, specifically the meaning of the Venus cycle, the Mars cycle, and the Venus and Mars cycle. Uranus in Gemini marks periods of rapid change in how people think, communicate, and connect. Across history, this cycle has coincided with revolutions in information systems: the printing press and the Reformation, the telegraph and the Civil War, early computing and World War II. The recurring patterns of old ways of understanding reality breaking down and new systems and knowledge paradigms emerging with Uranus in Gemini corresponds to the current cycle of AI, media disruption, information overload, and the need to define what is true.

On personal levels the entrance of Uranus into Gemini will bring radical change, new ideas and conceptions emerging in surprising ways, with the potential to liberate previous conceptions of self that were limiting to open exciting new pathways of creative directions in thought, communication, language, invention, and more. Uranus entering Gemini is the final piece to activate the flowing configuration with Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius that will bring accelerated change and breakthroughs in the months and years ahead.

On March 3, 2026 the brilliant light of the Full Moon will be eclipsed, transfigured into crimson red shadow. The Lunar Eclipse at 12º53’ Virgo is a total eclipse due to being close to the South Node of the Moon, conjuring experiences of dissolution that give rise to renewal, processes of emptying and purification that make room for new inspiration, inquiry, and insight to eventually emerge free from old distortions. The bloody red obscuration of the Moon's light in the domicile and exaltation of Mercury suggests an eclipsing of entrenched interpretations and thought-forms to recalibrate perception and participation. With Mercury retrograde in Pisces, the eclipse will initiate an immersive descent in imaginal waters to cleanse discernment and dissolve false clarity.

Total lunar eclipses are always potent, but this one arrives at an extraordinary moment. It follows the first Solar Eclipse sharing the sign of Aquarius with Pluto, and comes soon after the reality bending conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in the first degree of Aries on February 20. Set within the larger astrological context, the Virgo Lunar Eclipse is positioned at the threshold of a new era and a profound civilizational shift. With the eclipsed Moon separating from an opposition with Mars in Pisces while under rulership of Mercury retrograde in Pisces, the eclipse will deliver an extra dose of chaos and confusion that could correlate with an unraveling of beliefs that underpin interpretations, a weakening of certainty, and a surfacing of miscommunication. Yet the washing away of defensive certainty and the humbling of premature conclusions will be powerful elements of reorienting to the new collective reality we are entering.

I recorded this on the morning of February 28, 2026 after hearing news of the US and Israel bombing of Iran, before subsequent events were reported. I also talk about the link between this war with the eclipse.

Overall March is another dramatic month of astrology, yet also will function like a bridge between the more extreme astrology of February and April. The month begins with a dramatic total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo that will correlate with major turning points in storylines, setting off tension with Mars, the North Node of the Moon, the Sun, Mercury retrograde, and Venus all occupying the sign of Pisces.Mercury retrograde in Pisces will be a big theme of the month, creating opportunities to adjust and reorient with all of the massive changes brought by the recent eclipses and the conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in Aries. The many ways in which Saturn and Neptune are reshaping reality will continue to dominate March, as Saturn and Neptune will come together by declination and Saturn will also move from southern into northern declination. At the same time, Venus will enter Aries and catalyze further experiences related to Saturn and Neptune in the first week of March, and then after the Sun enters Aries at the equinox, the Sun will catalyze the meaning of Saturn and Neptune by moving through conjunctions with Saturn and Neptune.At the end of the month there is also a key aspect formed between Saturn in Aries with Pluto in Aquarius on March 28: the waxing sextile of their cycle.
