Angela Fischetti is a physical fitness and yoga instructor and licensed massage therapist specializing in wellness for older adults. She began teaching seniors in her 30s at a time when she embarked on her own challenging healing journey. Three decades later, a senior herself, Ms. Fischetti combines years of experience and research with a unique combination of empathy and encouragement for older adults seeking a healthier lifestyle. 80 years young, Michael Dorfman became plant based in 2008. Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1942, Michael Dorfman has been residing in Mexico for more than 40 years, including the last 6 in San Miguel de Allende. Because of his growing interest in Eastern philosophy, he decided to become a vegetarian in 1976. For health reasons, in 2008, he chose to make the change to a Whole Food Plant Based diet. What he has learned from his experiences and in-depth research on nutrition and specific lifestyle changes during these past 14 years has significantly impacted his life and led to his decision to not only strive to achieve optimal health for himself but to support others with the same goals in mind. In 2019, he published his first book on Amazon, "The Thriving Vegan - How to Discover the Foods your Body Loves."

That same year, he became certified in Plant-Based Nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies through eCornell University. Maya Acosta is a co-leader of the Plant-Based DFW PlantPure Communities Pod located in Dallas, TX. For years Maya has been passionate about helping everyday people understand that they have the power to upgrade their health. Her outreach work first began at her husband!s vascular center. Tracy Fettinger wants to share her journey with others so they don’t have to face MS alone. 

Tracy Fettinger was diagnosed in her mid-thirties (a very common age for MS) with what she thought at the time to be a life ending disease. She was lucky to have two family members in the medical field to help alleviate her fears and set her straight about MS not being a death sentence. She took her diagnosis and turned it into something positive not only for herself but many in her family. She now strives to do the same for others with her book. She is a public educator of over 25 years that now combines her passion for teaching with her passion for cooking and nutrition in a different kind of classroom! For years she taught kids how to read along with the other standards of the state she lived in, and now she teaches kids, teens, and adults how to cook and love their veggies! This came after her love of cooking and holistic wellness was sparked by her diagnosis of an autoimmune disease and the research that said she could deal with this holistically and naturally. These changes made such a difference in her life that she cannot help but share with others. Even before writing her book she created a class and its curriculum to help spread the word of how the food you eat can make a huge difference in your health.

Since beginning his journey in plant-based medicine, he has been repeatedly amazed to learn how a very healthy diet & lifestyle habits can help prevent, treat, & even reverse illnesses such as overweight & obesity, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, high cholesterol, fatty liver disease, chronic kidney disease, autoimmune diseases such as arthritis, multiple sclerosis & colitis, as well as depression, early dementia, & some cancers. Dr. Jeffrey Pierce was born and raised in South Texas. He went to the University of Texas – Pan American for undergraduate studies & then Baylor College of Medicine for medical school. Anthony Masiello is Co-founder and CEO of Plant Based TeleHealth, a national lifestyle telemedicine service focused on the prevention and reversal of disease with lifestyle medicine and whole food plant-based nutrition. Anthony has been working in healthcare for more than 25 years.

Amy Zacharias, MD is board certified in both family medicine and lifestyle medicine. From a young age, she always knew she wanted to be a physician. She grew up on a farm in central Illinois, where being a physician meant treating acute and chronic diseases with medications and the typical diet included meat at almost every meal. She was very active in sports growing up, so she always had an interest in healthy eating and physical activity. She thought she ate better than most by consuming lean meats and very little processed food. It was not until later in her career that she realized the most important aspect of being a physician was preventing disease, and that a whole food plant based diet, along with other lifestyle changes, is the best way to achieve optimal health. She attended Loyola University of Chicago for undergraduate studies and then Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois. She then moved back to central Illinois where she completed her residency training in family medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Methodist Medical Center. Upon completion of residency, she practiced traditional family medicine in a small town for several years. She also enjoyed serving as the Employee Health physician for her local hospital and the occupational medicine physician for several local employers. With these roles, she was asked to develop wellness programs to help keep employees healthy. She realized that educating patients about lifestyle changes to prevent and reverse disease was what she enjoyed most about being a physician. After several years of family practice, she started to become frustrated with the number of patients she saw daily afflicted with chronic diseases. She also noticed that despite eating healthy and exercising regularly all of her life that she too began to struggle to maintain a healthy weight. Determined to find a better way to prevent and treat disease, she became board certified in lifestyle medicine. In addition to her lifestyle medicine practice, Dr. Zacharias teaches medical students at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. She is passionate about teaching patients and students how to cook and eat better in order to prevent and reverse disease. She has a love for cooking and has completed the Rouxbe Plant-Based Professional cooking certification. She has a special interest in helping patients achieve their ideal weight and helping athletes reach peak performance by following a whole food, plant-based diet.

In 2012 Rick joined his wife Amy and adopted a whole food, plant based diet. Rick lost over 100 pounds and has kept it off.
