I had the pleasure of meeting Tom from Tom Pfister - Books and Curios in Greenwich Mark in the UK. His story is filled with rare and vintage finds - including book! He was so kind and picked out several children's books for me. Today I will be reading a poem from one of those book.

She starter her term in 1992 as part of the 102nd Congress and went on to serve additional terms. She worked hard to fight for rural areas and in 2003 returned to her home in Littleton, North Carolina.

Elizabeth spent many years expressing her creativity through gardening and writing. She is a published author and columnist in North Carolina. This episode, Auntie Jo Jo will be sharing a story about Cornelia Phillips Spencer. Cornelia was instrumental in the reopening of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's reopening after the Reconstruction Era. Although, she never had any formall education Cornelia was a great writer and poet. She is a published author and wrote many columns for various newspapers in North Carolina.

Tiny Broadwick was the first woman to parachute from a plane. She worked long, hard hours at the cotton mill in Henderson, North Carolina. She dreamed of something more and found it at the North Carolina State Fair! Tiny was amazed by the Broadwick's and their hot air balloon act. Listen to this epsiode to find out more about Tiny.

This episode, Auntie Jo Jo tells the story of Gertrude Weil and her fight for the right for women to vote. Gertrude Weil is from Goldsboro and was active in the Women's Suffrage Movement. She help many forms of office and started various chapters of Suffrage associations.

This episode Auntie Jo Jo will be telling you her own story about the first English child, Virginia Dare. Virginia was born to the Roanoke Colony in the Americas in 1587. Her colony is considered lost and is best known as the "Lost Colony". The governor of the Lost Colony, John White returned three years after Virginia's birth to find little to no clues about the fate of this colony.
