| Leprechaun 3 | 03 Feb 2025 | 01:02:22 | |
An evil leprechaun finds himself in Las Vegas, where he proceeds to cause mischief by killing people, granting twisted wishes, and infecting a young man with his green blood. It can be no other than 1995ās Leprechaun 3, starring Warwick Davis, John Gatins, Lee Armstrong, and directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith. This week, the boys debate on why it takes three films before these series tend to hit a high note . Other talking points include Elliot defending being a womanizer, Eric bringing up his disgust of body modifications, and Jeffās love of Warwick Davisā completely unneeded Elvis impersonation. Listen to us mind-freak our way through this 90-minute self-described comedy fantasy horror film.Ā
| Leprechaun: Origins | 31 Mar 2025 | 00:53:13 | |
Not related to the previous Leprechaun films. Two young couples backpacking through Ireland discover that one of Ireland's most famous legends is a terrifying reality. We have arrived at 2014ās Leprechaun: Origins. Looking back, I am surprised by how much I disliked this one. In hindsight, I donāt think it is the worst film weāve watched. We diverge on old-school sci-fi shows like Stargate, Farscape, and Sea Quest- anything to get us not to talk about this terrible movie. We came to the conclusion that this movie is just out of touch with everything. As Jeff says, āa waste of time.ā Having said all that horrible stuff, the episode still sparks a good discussion. Watch this terrible movie, and then come bond over our mutual dislike of Leprechaun: Origins.Ā And trust me, watching this one will make the next one that much better, youāll see.
| Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood | 17 Mar 2025 | 00:50:31 | |
When Emily Woodrow and her friends happen on a treasure chest full of gold coins, they fail to heed the warnings of a wise old psychic, who had foretold that they would encounter trouble with a very nasty and protective Leprechaun. This week, we are talking about Warwick Davisā final Leprechaun film, Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood. As they say, he saved his best performance for last, and all three boys agree. Other topics this week include talking about how many shots from a single handgun are too many, the welcomed disappearance of rhythm scheme, and how the true weakness of the leprechaun is extremely wet cement.Ā
| Leprechaun 5: In the Hood | 03 Mar 2025 | 00:54:49 | |
When three rappers want to get even with a pimp, they accidentally unleash a leprechaun who goes on a killing rampage in tha 'hood. This week, we are talking about the 2000sā Leprechaun 5: In the Hood. If you listen closely, you can almost hear Jeff's audible sigh as we go off script repeatedly this week. Which Star Trek series can be skipped entirely? How do you consider what a top-tier band is? What takes you out of a movie? Also, we talk about this weekās movie Leprechaun 5: In the Hood.
| Leprechaun 4: In Space | 17 Feb 2025 | 00:58:05 | |
Our deadly leprechaun is in space to woo a beautiful princess who is impressed with his gold and desires to separate him from it. Looking back, itās funny to see how little the tagline has to do with 1996ās Leprechaun 4: In Space. Jeff argues that the Leprechaun is the most powerful slasher villain to exist. Elliot brings up a Home Improvement tie-in to the Leprechaun franchise.Ā And Ericās voice isnāt as aggressive this time around, we hope. Look upon this podcast and know that you are doo
| Leprechaun Returns | 15 Apr 2025 | 00:44:53 | |
The time has come. The end of our first era of All Things Being Sequel is here, and folks, we are going out with a bang. And thereās no way to celebrate then by introducing a new segment, Bold Statements. Listen to us gush over how unbelievable it is that Leprechaun Returns might be the best movie of the entire franchise.Ā We spent a large portion of the time today talking about Mark Holtonās return portrayal of Ozzie Jones. Oscar worthy. We also spend time debating if this is all just a case of Stockholm syndrome. Other highlights include drone attacks, pure gag violence,Ā and despite really enjoying this final movie, it still has plenty of issues.Ā And lastly, thanks for taking this ride with us. If youāve watched every film along with us, or just listen to us every other week, we appreciate it. Weāve had a blast making this and talking about the Leprechaun franchise, and we are really excited to see where we take this series moving forward. And a slight spoiler alert if I can, the next series is straight bonkers too.
| It Lives Again | 12 May 2025 | 00:53:49 | |
An epidemic of monster babies sweeps across America. Hidden gem? Just ok? The boys are back this week, talking about 1978ās It Lives Again, or Itās Alive two, depending on which box set you pick up to watch. Murder babies here, murder babies there, murder babies everywhere. Where do you fall in the argument of what to do with these genetic anomalies?Ā Lots of great talking points that are, at times, all over the place. Elliot calls for the rounding up of all future monster babies, Eric says chuck them down a pit, Jeff has us switch topics before matters get out of hand. Other discussed topics include swimming in a pool in the middle of the night, and how weird it is to do that when there is zero lighting by the pool. Jeff suggests a new movie, Frank, the Baby Saver; Eric brings up the terrible Paramount show Picard. Lastly, an attempt is made to completely derail everything by bringing up the recent John Cena heel turn, but hopefully, Jeff can stay strong and resist the urge. Ā And pigeon talk, complete with accurate pigeon impression. I also love the mention of the Pope. I would like to emphasize that he was alive at the time of recording, and we wish nothing but the best for the new Pope Leo XIV.Ā
| It's Alive | 28 Apr 2025 | 00:47:51 | |
The Davises are expecting a baby, which turns out to be a monster with a nasty habit of killing people whenever it is scared. And it is easily scared. Itās a season of new beginnings here on All Things Being Sequel. This time weāre jumping into a new trilogy of films, starting with 1974ās Itās Alive. First off, I know the audio isnāt loud enough. Usually, I (Elliot) am too quiet, but this week Iām a little too loud. My bad, corrupt files are to blame. But this is completely listenable. Will I get a text from Eric telling me so? Yes, and possibly rightfully so. Again, itās on Elliot; blame him. Also, I apologize for my occasional heavy breathing. We talk about our love for the use of bright red blood, throwing our children into a firing squad of cops, and how much hospital births have changed in the decades since Itās Aliveās initial release. This week, we talk a lot about pictures, which are hard to describe. If youāre interested in seeing what we are talking about, including the creepy neighbor/friend we spoke about, you can follow this link to my BlueSky, where I have posted the pictures we spoke about, and we have a good laugh about them; itās worth checking out. See them here. And lastly, we have a new segment! Well, itās an old segment that Eric has renamed for this season: unsubstantiated conjecture.Ā Overall, having already recorded all five movies in this season (thatās right, three movies into five episodes, just wait), this season is a really fun ride. Watch these movies, then join us to listen and laugh along.
| It's Alive (2009) | 09 Jun 2025 | 00:53:51 | |
A baby born to a human couple turns out to be a mutant monster with an appetite to kill when scared. It the 2009 remake Itās Alive. Woof. Is it our first remake? Eric thinks it might be, Jeff believes there may have been one before, having not much else to talk about, he makes the argument. Elliot Casually mentions some time theft at his job, Eric feels unsure where to begin and starts right up with Wikipedia. Jeff brings up how this is a big pro-life film, and Elliot dreams of alternative takes on how he would have done this remake.Ā We talk about starting a new season in two weeks, but we have once again lied. Weāll be back in two weeks with another film by the great Larry Cohen, starring Michael Moriarty.
| It's Alive III: Island of the Alive | 26 May 2025 | 00:52:23 | |
The monster babies have been placed by court order on a deserted island so that they can live out their lives as far away from normal humans as possible without killing them. Enraged by the cynicism toward, and the exploitation of, the monster babies by both the legal system and the media, the man who is responsible for them leads an expedition to the island in order to free them. It seems we may have come to the end of the Itās Alive franchise, this time with 1987ās It's Alive III: Island of the Alive.Ā This week, we begin with Eric doubting his hand-clap timing technique. Heās fine, itās fine, everything is fine. Trust the process. Elliot opens up with a joke that just flies right over the head of my boy Jeff. And finally, Jeff reminds us that Eric and Elliot are the true a-holes of the pod, rightfully so.Ā Overall, I think we were a little surprised by just how great this final piece of the trilogy is. Go watch, come listen, hop on the bandwagon. And weāre not done! Weāll be back in two weeks with the remake of Itās Alive.
| The Stuff | 23 Jun 2025 | 00:57:21 | |
Bonus episodes! A delicious, mysterious goo that oozes from the earth is marketed as the newest dessert sensation, but the tasty treat rots more than teeth when zombie-like snackers who only want to consume more of the strange substance at any cost begin infesting the world. This week, the boys are drooling with anticipation to talk about 1985ās hidden classic, The Stuff. Itās got a bit of everything in it, whipped up for us to enjoy. Eric opens the show with a completely different Larry Cohen and Michael Moriarty horror film, before we quickly get back to this masterpiece. Jeff explains why movies that arenāt traditionally great still hold a high regard in our fixation with them. Elliot attempts to warn listeners of a modern-day The Stuff that didnāt off the way the filmās fluffy treat does. Lastly, Eric accuses Jeff of enjoying sweet bagels.
| 3 Ninjas | 07 Jul 2025 | 00:39:26 | |
A new season of All Things Being Sequel is here! Each year, three brothers visit their grandfather for the summer. He is highly skilled in ninjutsu, and for years he has trained the boys in his techniques. Weāre starting the 3 Ninjas season here on All Things Being Sequel. Was Elliot wrong for picking this series? Probably. He was trying something here, keep that in mind with the next episode. Elliot waxes nostalgic to no ones chagrin. Eric laughs about how even his young children find things to call out about this film. Elliot threatens with a Land Before Time season if no one gets on board. Will nostalgia be enough to keep this season afloat? Doubtful. But come, stay for the slow but inevitable train wreck. Lastly, as it is a new season I am going to take a second to drop the boys socials. Jeff
| Critters 3 | 29 Sep 2025 | 00:33:36 | |
The tiny fur ball aliens that will eat anything or anyone set their sights on a Los Angeles apartment tower. We are back, and this time talking about 1991sā Critters 3. Itās, a movie. There are no strong feelings this week as we talk about why this movie feels a lot like filler. We also talk about what it takes for a movie to become repeat viewing.Ā
| Critters 2: The Main Course | 15 Sep 2025 | 00:58:11 | |
Eggs of the small but voracious alien creatures called Crites are left behind on earth and, after hatching, set their appetites on the small farm town of Grover's Bend. We're back, and we hit the trail running on the second episode of this season of All Things Being Sequel. And I have to say, I really think this is a solid episode. Jeff does a great job of getting us to stay on topic, but Tessa and Elliot excel at chaos.Ā Come see what we have to say about Jeff's favorite of the franchise, what jokes hit, what misses, and why it still just feels a little off to Elliot.Ā
| Critters | 01 Sep 2025 | 00:47:27 | |
A group of small but vicious alien creatures called Crites escape from an alien prison transport vessel and land near a small farm town on earth, pursued by two shape-shifting bounty hunters. New season, new films, new faces? Thatās right, out with the old, in with the new, well, new to us. Eric couldnāt take the heat and stepped aside. Thankfully, Jeff knew someone interested; it just happened to be Elliotās wife, Tessa. This week the gang takes a look at the 1986 Critters. Jeff waxed nostalgic as Elliot dreams in Gremlin, while Tessa mentions having zero interest in taking home a pet Crite.Ā
| 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain | 18 Aug 2025 | 00:41:36 | |
The three unstoppable Ninja brothers fight to save their hero (Hulk Hogan) and Mega Mountain Amusement Park from the vicious kid-hating Medusa (Loni Anderson). We have done it; we have finished the 3 Ninjas saga. This week, the boys took a look at 1998ās 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain. While they conclude this isnāt the worst in the series, it also isnāt the best. But it is a movie. The boys open with a weak clap by Jeff. Eric feels like this may be his last episode, and Elliot couldnāt believe how down-to-earth Hulk Hogan is in this film.Ā Come back in two weeks for a new season of All Things Being Sequel, and a few new surprises too.Ā
| 3 Ninjas: Knuckle Up | 04 Aug 2025 | 00:53:13 | |
Rocky, Colt and Tum Tum are back in an all new adventure everyone will fall for. Environmental crime. Elliot begins with a prepared statement. Eric thinks we may have gone to far last week, and Jeff is just kinda here for it. There is a lot to unpack in this one, some you may be able to forgive because it was 1995, some of it you might not be so willing to. Itās wacky; thereās a last-minute race to the courthouse fun to be had. Thankfully, we are over the hump at this point with 3 Ninjas.
| 3 Ninjas Kick Back | 21 Jul 2025 | 00:31:47 | |
