Welcome true believers to X-Men Horoscopes where each week our host Lodro Rinzler is in conversation with a special guest to discuss the X-Men issue that aligns with a significant month and year from their life and what that issue reveals about their future. Want to listen to this episode ad-free? Visit our Patreon! With us this week is Miles and Anna Stokes! Full disclosure: this lil podcast would not exist if Jay and Miles Xplain the X-Men didn’t pave the way for it. We are interrupting X-Men ‘97 Month for a week because Jay and Miles Xplain the X-Men JUST ENDED and this is a good communal way to process that news.
What does this mean for Anna and Miles' future together as a couple? Tune in to find out! For the last 12 years, Miles Stokes has been enthusiastically attempting to make sense of comics' most complicated superhero soap opera as half of the podcast Jay & Miles X-Plain the X-Men. By day, he fixes computers for a non-mutant-related comic book publisher, and by night, he tries and fails to catch up on his gigantic media backlog. Anna Stokes is an enigma wrapped in shadows, or possibly just an endearing dork with an excellent fashion sense. She loves horror, British comedy, the visual arts, and spends most of each week listening to people's life stories while she expertly rips hair out of their bodies in her role as an esthetician. Anna and Miles live in Portland, Oregon in a spooky house full of nerdy things, or possibly a nerdy house full of spooky things, in the middle of a pretty great community of creators and weirdos. We play the X-Newlywed Game (how could we not?) and also on this episode:
What does any of this mean for their future as a soon-to-be married couple? Tune in to find out! Aly Moon (@Alymoonnn) is a Tennessee-based cosplayer, nail artist, lifelong Marvel nerd, and proud X-Men enthusiast. When she’s not bringing superheroes to life through cosplay or creating nerdy nail art, she’s probably found in her garden (because every good mutant needs a soft, earthy side too). Nicholas Woody, also known as TheComicCosplayer, is an extremely passionate cosplayer who loves bringing characters to life. Nightcrawler, Sentry, Ash Williams, and Mister Miracle are just a few examples of his portrayals. From horror movies like Evil Dead and The Shining, to comics such as Moon Knight, the new Marvel Ultimate Comics, and DC Black Label/Vertigo, and even gaming titles like Marvel Rivals and Dead by Daylight, to fandom-related content creation, Nicholas has fully embraced the geek lifestyle. When he's not traveling, creating, gaming, or thrifting, Nicholas enjoys the convention scene! Once a theater kid, always a theater kid—Nick’s love for cosplay evolved from his love for acting and theater. Cosplay allows you to be whoever you want to be rather than hoping to play the role you want, which really drew him to the hobby. Formerly based in Texas, and now residing in central Tennessee, Nicholas looks forward to a bright future with his fiancé Aly as they share their passions together in geekdom. Early issues of Excalibur first sparked his love for the franchise. Today, he works as a principal data scientist at a tech company, where he uses his knowledge and curiosity about technology to explore science fiction about artificial intelligence, data science, and robots. In the world of X-Men podcasts, Scott is a regular contributor on Graymalkin Lane. He currently voices Steven Lang on that show's X-Men read-along. A regular guest on podcasts inside and outside of comics, Scott enjoys talking about the gaps between science fiction and science fact, especially related to portrayals of AI in comics. If you ask him, Scott will usually tell you his favorite X-Men character is Cyclops. However, if you press him, he will quickly go into lengthy detail about his interest in Rachel Summers. What’s not to love about a psychic, time-traveling daughter from a dystopian future ruled by genocidal robots? | Clarke Whitehead: Kitty Pegged Nightcrawler - Uncanny X-Men 153 | 07 août 2025 | 01:04:28 | |
Welcome true believers to X-Men Horoscopes where each week our host Lodro Rinzler is in conversation with a special guest to discuss the X-Men issue that aligns with a significant month and year from their life and what that issue reveals about their future. Also in Kitty's Fairytale:
All this plus Wolverine as the Tasmanian devil. Unlike Illyana, you will not be put to sleep with this week's episode. What does any of it mean for Clarke's future? Tune in to find out! Clarke Whitehead grew up right across the river from Washington DC, absorbing politics and history like a sponge. He is a theatre teacher and dramaturg, having studied in London and Galway, Ireland. He has a voracious appetite for entertainment from Asian reality dating shows, European Cold War dramas, and Anglophone Soap Operas to Turner Classic Movies, Sims Twitch Streams, and – obviously - X-Men comics. When Homo Superior was in it’s planning stages, Clarke was to feature in the weekly segment “Clarke’s Corner,” where he would spill his unorthodox or unpopular takes in an Andy Rooney style of off-kilter ranting. As the podcast's resident character historian, he keeps everyone updated on what Catseye has been up to.
