Ep 67: Let’s Go Biohacking – Taking the Ice Plunge
samedi 16 mai 2020 • Durée 48:51
The Gringas fill Kari’s bathtub with ice and then sit in it for six minutes each, while Kristin Weitzel of Warrior Woman Mode talks them through it. Can the ladies channel their inner Wim Hof and make it through gracefully, or do they splash like biohacking bitches?

Ep 66: Biohacking Our Bodies with Kristin Weitzel
samedi 16 mai 2020 • Durée 01:21:44
Coronavirus has us all thinking of ways we can optimize our bodies for peak performance – that is, unless you’re Kristin Weitzel of Warrior Woman Mode. Kristin’s been in this shit since ‘92 (as Biggie would say), and she’s here to walk us through the biohacking options – even if we’re stuck at home.
The ladies talk about everything from Blue Cannatine, which is all the rage in Silicon Valley, to taking ice baths, which is all the rage in Kari’s bathtub.

Ep 57: Don’t Go Back to Sleep: How to Live Without Regrets
mardi 2 octobre 2018 • Durée 47:17
This is a tough one for Kari and Kelly. They recently lost a dear internet friend, Jodi Cullen, at the age of 40 to breast cancer. Jodi was a digital nomad and a bright light who inspired so many people in her too-short life. This episode is dedicated to her memory.
Jodi’s death has the ladies thinking about how to live without regrets. Taking risks, living intentionally, and having integrity are all discussed. Kari and Kelly don’t have all the answers about how to live your life without regrets, but they’re sharing everything that they’ve learned.

Ep 56: How to Become a Digital Nomad
lundi 17 septembre 2018 • Durée 01:12:06
As fans of the Workationing podcast already know, Kari and Kelly huge advocates of the digital nomad lifestyle. The ladies have used their ability to work remotely to travel the world, knock countless items off their bucket lists, and generally live a more intentional and fulfilling life. However, being location independent isn’t all sunshine, rainbows, and killer shots for Insta.
In this episode the gringas are keeping it very real about the fact that becoming a digital nomad takes a lot of hard work. You need to have a skill set that allows you to work remotely, the ability to consistently show major ROI to clients who will never see your face, and enough work ethic and determination to work hard even when you’d rather be out exploring whichever awesome new city you’re currently posted up in.
There are also logistical issues. You’ll most likely need to ditch your rent/mortgage, find a place to store anything you want to keep, rehome pets, breakup with partners who don’t share your vision, find someone to handle your mail, figure out what to do with your car, get international travelers insurance, and much more!
On top of that, you’ll need a lot of balls. It’s not easy to make a big life transition under any circumstances, but when you’re choosing a lifestyle that your friends and family aren’t familiar with and that is, by its very nature uncertain, it can be hard to stick to your guns. Throw in the anxiety that comes with throwing yourself totally outside of your comfort zone, and you have a recipe for a lot of sleepless nights and crying jags.
However, the ladies still recommend this lifestyle to anyone. It’s not always easy, but it has consistently been worth all the stress (and even the occasional heartache) that has come with it.

Ep 55: Kelly Lost 100 Lbs!
lundi 27 août 2018 • Durée 54:20
It’s been a long road, but in the last year and a half your gringas have lost — we shit you not — almost 140 pounds. And Kelly has lost over 100 of that on her own.
Both Kari and Kelly are loving this new healthier version of themselves and are proud of everything that they’ve accomplished, however, as they reflect back on the process it’s definitely a little bittersweet.
The ladies discuss the traumatic life events that lead to the weight gain, struggling with body dysmorphia, the moment when Kelly knew things had gone too far, and all of the ways in which losing the equivalent of a chubby 5th grader can actually be a giant mindfuck. (Spoiler alert: they cry again.)
Kari and Kelly also talk about what life looks like now, and what they are doing to maintain their new healthier outlook. Losing weight and keeping it off is definitely not a diet — it’s a lifestyle change — and for your gringas it still feels like a constant science experiment to figure out what works and what doesn’t.

Ep 54: Relationshit Part IV: The Aftermath
lundi 13 août 2018 • Durée 58:13
After the releasing the Relationing Thrillogy, Kari and Kelly got TONS of letters from listeners who wanted to weigh in with their thoughts as well — and they decided to read some of their faves out loud.
The ladies heard from a listener who has been on 93 Tinder first dates (the gringas were shook), a listener who is exploring polyamory as solopoly person, and they even read a letter calling them out for being a bit hypocritical. (Hey, a good point is a good point.)
Kari and Kelly also discuss some larger issues including some recent heartbreak they’ve encountered and some of the more nuanced aspects of dating in the digital age.

Ep 53: Relationshit Part III: When to Walk Away (and When to Run Away Screaming)
mardi 24 juillet 2018 • Durée 01:02:44
In the final chapter of the Relationshit trilogy, Kari and Kelly talk about when to walk away from a relationship...and when to run away screaming. When you’re a person of a certain age, should you settle at some point? When do you know when it’s time to hit the “tap out” button, whether that means staying or going?
If you don’t have a shared vision of the future, it might be time to go. See also: if you’re not sexually compatible or the chemistry just isn’t there. What happens when you’re no longer sexually attracted to your partner – or your partner is no longer sexually attracted to you?
The ladies also get into trust and communication issues, and what that looks like (if you’re constantly going through your partners’ phones looking for evidence of cheating, either you’ve got a broken boyfriend/girlfriend selector or you’re the one with trust issues.
Finally, what does an abusive relationship look like? Kari opens up about her experiences with emotional abuse, and the ladies talk about what different types of abuse can look like. When your partner constantly undermines or gaslights you, or generally treats you like shit, it’s time to go. If your partner ever hits you, it’s time to run away screaming (and get help on your way out, because it can be a dangerous situation).

Ep 52: Relationshit Part II: Dating in the Digital Era
vendredi 13 juillet 2018 • Durée 01:22:41
In Part II of the relationshit series, Kari and Kelly talk about dating in the digital era...starting with the decision to try online dating in the first place. Kari admits to her shocking history of internet dating (she’s a real O.G. on that front), and the ladies talk about Tinder strategies, first date escape plans and seeing your ex and his new wife post FB photos in front of the Christmas tree you bought years ago. The Gringas also have you covered on some strategies to make your Google search results more attractive to prospective dates.
Dating in the digital era comes with all kinds of questions. How deeply do you stalk your dates? When do you move from Tinder chat to WhatsApp or text? When do you delete your online dating profiles, and does that mean you’re in an exclusive relationship? When – or do you? – make it “Facebook official?”
Then there’s the breakup side of dating in the digital era – do you make an announcement on Facebook? Do you stay social media friends with their friends? Block them on all fronts? Instagram wars, cyberstalking your ex’s new partners and more plugs for Internet therapy abound (the ladies love their internet therapists so much, they have an affiliate relationship with BetterHelp – get a week of free online therapy at betterhelp.com/workationing).

Ep 51: Dating in Your 30s (and Beyond) – Welcome to the Thunderdome, Bitch!
mercredi 4 juillet 2018 • Durée 01:49:13
The ladies are finally making good on their promise to talk about relationshit, and in this ep they cover all aspects of dating in your 30s (and beyond). Everything is on the table, incuding exes and sexes, financial differences, dating with (or actively without) kids, sexual compatibility, age gaps and the “what if” relationships that failed along the way.
The reality of dating while getting older (wait, is that my biological alarm I hear going off in the not-to-far distance) is hitting the ladies like a speeding tram. Kari and Kelly discuss how Sex and the City wasn’t just a show, but a prophecy, and what that means for them and their friends.
The vulnerability level of this episode is off the charts, and the ladies discuss things that many single women in their 30s and 40s think about but rarely talk about. It’s a tough episode, but at least we’ve all got internet therapy to help us cope with it all.

Ep 50 - There Is No Spoon: Overcoming Mental Blocks
samedi 9 juin 2018 • Durée 01:07:15
Kari and Kelly have been working hard to launch their new training program for aspiring digital nomads. Along the way they’ve been having lots of discussions with people about the mental blocks that keep them from moving forward toward their goals, and they’re beginning to notice a pattern.
From getting stuck in bad habits to grappling with imposter syndrome, there are a lot of mental landmines to maneuver around when you’re making a big change in your life. The ladies tackle the most common ones and share what they’ve learned about how to deal with them. (Though admittedly, it’s an ongoing battle.)
Kari and Kelly also dish on their secret weapon for self-improvement: their internet therapists. They’re easier, less expensive, and more flexible than a traditional therapist and they can be a real lifesaver when it comes to accountability and processing through major life changes.
