Send us a text

Brooklyn Hop, a vibrant 10-year-old from Andover, Minnesota, has carved a unique path in the racing world as an integral part of her family's Hop racing team. Despite encountering challenges such as bullying at school due to her distinctive passion, Brooklyn's enthusiasm for the speed and adrenaline of racing remains steadfast. Through her participation in the "Chicks on Slicks" racing community, she has developed a strong sense of camaraderie and support, bolstered by sponsors like kgb Mike and Don Kretzky, Sergeant Hot Wheels, and Jaeger guys, who have significantly contributed to her success. With aspirations to race across various locations and a supportive family by her side, Brooklyn continues to inspire others with her dedication, resilience, and commitment to safety on the racetrack.

Racing Unites Mother-Daughter Bond in Passion-Amanda and Abby Morton Nov 202418 Nov 202400:27:09

Send us a text

Amanda and Abby Morton are influential advocates for women in motorsports, drawing from their personal experiences on and off the racetrack. Amanda, with 25 years of racing under her belt, and her daughter Abby, a go-kart racer since the age of four, both highlight the unique challenges women face in this male-dominated arena. They encounter stereotypes and misconceptions, with Amanda noting how women are often discouraged by societal expectations, while Abby observes the scarcity of female competitors in her races. Despite these hurdles, the Mortons are passionate about encouraging other women to pursue their racing dreams with confidence and resilience, emphasizing the supportive and familial nature of the racing community.

EPISODE 264: Drifting: The art of controlled chaos with MacKenzie Nelson, Sara Lancaster and Tasha Cosgrove April 23 202425 Apr 202400:54:25

Send us a text

MacKenzie Nelson, Sara Lancaster and Tasha Cosgrove are three women with a deep-seated passion for the exhilarating world of motorsports, specifically drifting. MacKenzie's perspective, shaped by her journey and experiences at the Brainerd International Raceway, emphasizes the importance of practice and experience in drifting, rather than over-reliance on vehicle modifications. On the other hand, Sara, an entrepreneur from Fargo, North Dakota, and a close friend of MacKenzie, believes in the balance between competitive events and consistency in point series along with the responsible practice of the sport. Sara's views are shaped by her friendship with Mackenzie and her own experience in business. Lastly, Tasha, also from Fargo, strongly disapproves of the reckless "street takeover" culture that has become popular on the Internet, and instead advocates for demonstrating skills on the track. Her thoughts are shaped by her experiences in the racing community and discussions on the Women's Motorsports Network podcast.

VALERIE THOMPSON"WORLD'S FASTEST FEMALE MOTORCYCLE RACER" 328 MPH

Residence:  Scottsdale, ArizonaBorn:  Tacoma, Washington

Valerie is the “World’s Fastest Female Motorcycle Racer” and an eight-time land speed record holder with membership in the Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame, seven 200 MPH Clubs and one 300 MPH Club. In 2018, she piloted the famed BUB 7 Streamliner to a record speed of 328.467 mph (528.616 km/h) and is the only female rider featured on the “World’s Top 10 Fastest Motorcycle Riders” list. She was recently included on the Dealernews “Top 100 Leaders in Powersports” list.

In addition to pursuing the fastest motorcycle title of 376.363 mph, Valerie assumed driving duties of the Treit and Davenport Target 550 Streamliner in 2019 for her first land speed record attempt on 4-wheels. Marlo Treit and Les Davenport have four decades of land speed racing experience in a variety of record-setting vehicles. The team’s goal is to break the current conventional wheel-driven, piston-powered automobile class speed record of 415.867 mph.

Valerie is the first woman in the seat of the Target 550 Streamliner as a result, she could become the first woman over 400 mph both in a car and motorcycle. While other women have reached fabulous speeds in a car and others in a motorcycle streamliner, NO woman has done both. She has the opportunity to be the first driver over 500 mph in a piston engine car, and over 400 mph in a motorcycle. Something that NOBODY – man or woman has accomplished.

Valerie’s quest to become the world’s fastest motorcycle racer is the subject of P-51 Pictures and MN8 upcoming film documentary, “Rockets and Titans.”

Deni Jensen is a renowned figure in the drag racing world, originally from northwest Arkansas. With a strong belief in the empowerment and inclusivity of the sport, Jensen views women's participation in drag racing as an increasingly celebrated reality. She acknowledges the uphill battles faced by female racers, often facing unfair treatment from male counterparts, yet remains undeterred in her pursuit of the sport she loves. Jensen's experiences and her grit underscore the significance of determination, readiness, and a strong support network for women striving to make their mark in the drag racing world.

Episode 106: IWMA Zoom: "Why is it important to stay connected right now?"17 Apr 202000:48:50

Send us a text

SORRY - We were talking and I didn't get the RECORD button at the very beginning...

Zoom webinar where we discussed why it's important for us to stay connected to not only our family, but friends, race family, our track owners, promoters, and more!

I had a conversation with someone who was remarking how some people think they are entitled (or the World owes them everything). The world does not owe you ANYTHING! But YOU owe it to yourself to give the world any the people in it to share the BEST YOU that you can.

So during this time of quarantine, find out WHO you are, and give yourself away! Do for OTHERS!

In your life, your business, and your racing world, people buy into YOU! They make a CONNECTION with YOU. They ESTABLISH a RELATIONSHIP with YOU. They build an ATTACHMENT with YOU. And finally they BUY INTO your personal BRAND. They will become a fan for life.

HOW to stay connected: Zoom, Facebook, IG, Twitter, Phone calls, text messages, Face time, Skype, webinars, LinkedIn, Organize a "train" of cars to drive by a friends house, race track, etc; send a card or letter; write a blog and post it on social media; tell stories - what have you been doing, something funny, etc; Facebook Live.

WHO should you stay connected to: Family, friends, race family, track owners and promoters, kids in your life, teachers, hairstylist, coaches, mailman, owners of businesses you frequent, former classmates, dentist, church family, neighbors, members of groups you belong to, pizza delivery guy, - YOU GET THE IDEA!

WHY you should stay connected: Thank you's; people you appreciate; Thinking of You; Life events like birthdays, anniversaries, new babies, new pets; holidays; keep in touch for no reason at all.

Shelley Greenwald is an accomplished safety director at Slinger Speedway, with a rich background in emergency response and healthcare that includes service as a registered nurse at St. Luke's Hospital and as a firefighter and paramedic in Sussex, Wisconsin. Greenwald views her role as a safety director through a lens of tenacity and boundary-breaking, stemming from her personal journey of evolving from a volunteer to a safety director in the male-dominated world of racing. Against initial skepticism, Greenwald earned the trust and confidence of her peers and track owners, underscoring the essential role of a keen and alert safety team in the high-risk racing environment.  This unique blend of medical expertise and racing experiences allows Greenwald to approach her position with deep commitment, always prioritizing safety in every aspect of the sport.
